Kemono Jihen (Manga) add
Preliminary (51/? chp)
I fully caught up on the Kemono Jihen manga after watching the anime. The manga's storytelling is solid throughout and fluid, and the art is above average. It's dark, uplifting, and fun to read all at the same time, and I hope that the manga continues to get adapted into anime.

Kabane, Shiki, Akira, and Kon I think will go down as one of the best group of characters created ever in the world of anime/manga. There's just so much for them to learn and grow. Reminds me a lot of Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio from HxH.

Kemono Jihen is one of those ...

Kemono Jihen (Anime) add
I don't remember how I stumbled upon Kemono Jihen, but I'm really glad I did. There's something about the storytelling, the very human touches, how naturally the characters interact with each other, that really shines in this anime.

Everything about the anime is above average and very intentional, and you can tell that the animation studio put their best foot forward in adapting the manga.

Kemono Jihen isn't the flashiest anime out there, but what it does do is tell engrossing, thoughtful, sometimes dark, sometimes uplifting stories about young characters who are still learning about themselves, their relationships with others, and the world.

Cannot recommend ...

Stars Align is ostensibly about a junior high school boys’ soft tennis club, but it’s so much more. Most of the top sports anime (I’m thinking Haikyu!, Ookiku Furikabutte, Run With the Wind) are about competition, teamwork, and striving to be the best, and though they do delve into the personal lives of the players, they rarely delve into dark places. Stars Align is different: it shines a light into the realities of growing up as the kids navigate abuse, bullying, queerness, parental incompatibility/control, social anxiety, adoption (I could go on).

The animation quality is spectacular, the soundtrack perfectly crafted, and the characters are nuanced, ...

Preliminary (145/? chp)
I had been an anime-only person for my entire life (I’m 26) up until now. The manga that broke it for me was Ookiku Furikabutte. Naturally, I watched the anime first, but was so sad that the anime only had 2 seasons and doesn’t even cover half of the plot in the manga. (If a season 3 and beyond get made, my life would be complete!)

The manga is exceptional: every character on the team (Nishiura High School) is so lovable and carefully crafted, all the aspects of baseball are realistic and detailed (I’ve been watching professional American baseball since I was a kid), and the ...

I never thought that I would find another sports anime that I would enjoy as much as Haikyuu!!, but I recently stumbled onto Ookiku Furikabutte, and I’ve been enjoying it so much—it has really given me a boost in my spirits.

Every character on the team (Nishiura High School) is so lovable and carefully crafted, and all the aspects of baseball are realistic and detailed. The sound and animation are not as fancy and clean as Haikyuu!! and for that, I can't give it a 10, but those little shortcomings do not distract from the story at all. It just means the animation slightly lacks ...

I recently finished watching all 148 episodes of the anime Hunter x Hunter. I’ve watched a lot of anime in my life, and I have to say that I have never enjoyed an anime more than Hunter x Hunter.

The anime is incredibly fun to watch: the adventures are dazzling, the characters are so well-written, the animation is spot-on, and there are so many surprises—it’s not easy to know how a particular story will unfold or resolve, and the suspense makes you want to watch more and more.

The friendship between Gon and Killua is the most beautifully developed anime friendship I’ve ever ...
