I just rewatched it.
I like this show a lot.
It really embodies the experience of "hating yourself but you work with kids so you need to create a fake persona to deal with them, but at the same time you want them to not get their hopes up in life so you try to teach them about the real life".
I hate being an adult. I really do. And I yearn for the childhood I undermined. This show encapsulates the feeling perfectly, and I treasure it for it.

I did a rewatch of it and god... I just love this show.
My tiktok rotten brain just buzzes at its fast pace, I just love it! Also, it's hilarious. I adore this sort of stupid Japanese humor so much! Don't get me started on the characters! Saki has one of the best character developments in television history. How the last two episodes are about not only saving the world but HIS FRIENDS. And how the reason he keeps his powers a secret change from protecting himself to protecting HIS FRIENDS... omg AND he ends up falling for Teruhashi... But also the other characters, they are ...

Truth be told it's a bit hard to watch - at least it was for me. I'm not really used to old BL and the general dynamic of the couples was a bit too much at times. When I got to the 3rd season I straight up decided to skip the story of the professor and ex-brother in law-high school student. It was too much... This movie is one of the best things I have seen in my life! (As I write this, I have seen it a total of 3 times in a span of half a year). This movie has everything! I love how the mugiwaras are portrayed, I love the side characters! The plot is excellent! It's so good how it starts with the premise of a fun little competition and then turns dark in a semi-end of evangelion nightmare for luffy.
