This is a massive improvement from first season. I didn't expect this to improve that much to be honest, and, while still has many flaws, shows how an anime studio can learn, even if it's just a bit, from its mistakes.
Disclaimer: I didn't played the VN so i'll review this, as i did with the first season, as an anime-only viewer.
The story adapts the Moon and Terra routes from the VN and because of that this season is clearly split in two parts: Moon route (3 episodes) and Terra route (8 episodes)

scenes from previous rutes that i didn't know because the first season adaptation was total bullshit. Because of that, i didn't care about the main heroines and anything related to them because they are barely developed in the first season, but still act as we know things about them. Fortunately, the entire show focus around the relationship of Kotarou and Kagari which were the only characters worth something in S1, both in Moon and Terra routes, despite being very different each other, while still related.
Moon was very short and its last episode felt again extremely rushed again forbiding the arc to have a pleasant ending after the first 2 good episodes. However, in Terra finally Rewrite fixes its incredible problem with the pacing. The pacing is smooth and enjoyable, being the entire arc pretty solid with an interesting development by Kotarou, who was a pretty lame and childish character in S1. Plus, the fact the main heroines not being present in the plot avoids major plot holes to the arc, that has a just fine ending which is appreciated in a series with such a complex thematic like Rewrite.
However, Terra is not flawless. Some secondary characters felt like they have a major character arc but they left it absolutely incomplete. Also, some pacing problems to explain some things are present too. These flaws are present during all the series but they are not as blatant as in S1, thankfully.
The character focus in this S2 is Kotarou in almost its entirety. He was a pretty beta VN main character in S1 but the pathos presented in the Terra arc made him an at least bidimensional character who makes appropiate decisions (and i'm not talking about his power). His behavior is believable too, being a grown and mature character which is rare in an anime of this kind and even in anime nowadays. Not perfect, but hey.
The animation is average to good. The CGI is very bad and action scenes can feel anti-climatic because of that but 2D animations is just fine, like first season, maybe a bit better. The sound is good, with the soundtrack and seiyuu's perfomance being quite nice. Nothing wrong with that.
Overall, Rewrite 2nd Season learnt from its predecessor. Maybe it's because they are straightforward routes, maybe because they are just better routes, or maybe they are just better adapted. No incredibly well adapted, but the pacing is WAY better. And this alone can make this show potable by its own.

Gintama°: Aizome Kaori-hen is an OVA of some unadapted manga chapters. Nothing different from the typical Gintama comedy arcs, with hilarious situations and touching moments towards the end.
The story is nothing special, even i would say it's rather confusing, i felt the "main antagonist" just as a plot device to start the situation shown. Her reasons to do what she do are not reliable at all, but in the end the show knows how to fix it.
This OVA is hilarious. It certainly lacks the typical referential jokes which Gintama abuses day by day and has a lot of sexual jokes and crazy situations related to
...
that instead. I'll always be amazed by how Gintama manages to go insane in just a second. This OVA is full of it.
However, the show is not full of humour: The romance used to build the plot and the character herself are not good per se, if she lived in Yoshiwara all this time they could show her us previously to develop her well; however, the ending of this situation is good enough.
The animation is the same as usual Gintama TV adaptation, as well as the sound, using powerful and well known tracks and the OP16, which was the last in Gintama° before things turned serious so it is appropiate for this OVA.
Overall i enjoyed this just as much as Gintama TV series, but the plot is not that good (just one comedy arc and not amazing though) and it's just two episodes. But is fun as hell, so, if you like Gintama watch it, recommended.

Rewrite could have been great. I can smell the potential of the source material on it. However, it turned to be a big mess since the very beggining, and with second season "Rewrite Moon and Terra" coming, i feel the need of doing what I consider an accurate review of this show, specially about the main problem i have with.
Talking first about its skin, the art in Rewrite is pleasant. It is your typical Key art with moe characters and eyes bigger than your hand but it's very colorful and shining. Animation is also rather good, with fluid movements and fights. CGI was ok and

overall a good animation for a studio with almost none specially previously good work.
Well, i'm pretty sure why this is not the exception.
This is my main problem with Rewrite: It is indeed very rushed. Well, you can think this is not a major problem, it is very common skip some things while adapting and things like those, but the reality is that is VERY rushed to the point of being a total disaster. Usually, Key's visual novel structure, with some exceptions like Charlotte or Angel Beats (not necessarily good because of that) is made by a plain guy as a protagonist with a bunch of girls surrounding him with their own arcs and development. In Rewrite, of course, you have the plain guy, and 5 or 6 girls. The problem is Rewrite only focuses in two of them very vaguely (and just one episode), while the other girls are doing random stuff with nosense at all because they have been never explained at least as characters. The show explains you the basics of the world and how it works but suddenly everything changes. The characters on the "bad side" are never explained even the minimum. But the problem, as i said, is not source material's, but adaptation's, because what i can feel on Rewrite is the lack of information, shown or said, that was cutted off for sure because it was probably an extremely long VN to adapt in 13 episodes.
I'll give an example of this (light spoilers): In episode 2 or 3, the main character say something like: "I'm so happy with the occult club, we are friends and we have spent a lot of things together,i don't want it to be over". He almost gathered all the girls in the club at that moment, so they skip a lot of probably episodic adventures to make it in time but that's just the beggining of the nonsensical character development of Rewrite. All the flaws i can think are related to be rushed as hell because the story has the potential to be good but the reason why most characters do what they do just fuck the entire story.
"Why is this character doing this? why is she saying this? who's that character and why is suddenly so important for the plot? why they only try to develop some characters and other remain untouched, even when they are faced with each other, and both sides are right in some way?" There are some important questions unanswered in Rewrite that turn it into just a shell of a good show. It has indeed no coherent soul. Maybe second season can repair this, but seeing how first one ended, i don't think so. Even if it could, the base material is already so bad that it's a snowball now.
Overall, even if you like Key and its adaptations, this Rewrite anime is completely forgetable and skipable. It just has many things missing from the original VN, and i can say this without playing it, because is obvious if you are not abduced by the moe style and beautiful animation.

This is the best part of Digimon Adventure Tri. to date by far.
They just improved a lot in this one. Saikai was pure fanservice (characters, all the fucking evolutions...), dissapointing and rushed. Ketsui was better but it lost so many time in high school things so typical and cliche in anime nowadays. I was afraid for this anime taking that way. Thank god it finally didn't.
Kokuhaku takes a big step up in the rather neglected plot in the first two parts. The character development is still present but in a more subversive way. The pacing is nice and the climax is very emotional, been a

while since i didn't feel like that with Digimon.
However, i have a big problem and question with kokuhaku: why they can't digivolve to a better level freely? it has no sense facing Meicoomon in champion level. I guess they can't control it anymore like 02, but with a couple of digivolutions more, all that happens next could be avoided perfectly, feeling like some kind of plot device. Anyways, although the situation was somewhat confusing, Tentomon manages to hit me right in the feels. God, that episode.
I can notice some greek tragedy influence in Kokuhaku, specially the oracle's prediction (Hikari's Homeostasis) and the dramatic irony. For those who don't know about dramatic irony, it's a literary device by which the audience's understanding of events or individuals in a work surpasses that of its characters. In Kokuhaku, we know what is happening but not the kids, so this way we know they're gonna suffer so bad at some point, which increases the impact of the climax.
Nothing to say about art and animation, It's a good work by Toei, but it's still Toei. And Toei is shit, so tha animation while decent it has some flaws. Soundtrack as epic as ever, well choiced and put.
Overall, Kokuhaku is starting to carry Adventure Tri. to an enjoyable point. Still has flaws, but the setting andits identity have improved a lot in this one. Digimon is not an action kid show anymore. Now it's a mature show that explores the characters that grew with us. It's a product made for us and not for the new generation, lacking action to work on the characters we knew as children, and taking the plot to a different level.
I hope the next parts keep and improve the level. Unlike the first two parts, this is the right way.

Just tell me why, Tite Kubo. What a way to mess up with all.
Many Bleach fans have already seen the anime and the arcs animated as well. I think we all loved the Soul Society arc and the next ones were very good too. The biggest problem of Bleach were the insane powerups but the general quality was good...until we reach the Quincy Arc, the last arc and this manga's biggest mistake. I will talk about entirely about this arc in this review, while the rest of the manga has been valued to the overall score too.
The Quincy Arc started pretty good, with

a good premise, badass villain and many things, Yamamoto's bankai, etc...but since then, it turned out to be so bad. Even if the chapters at the Zero Squad were pretty good and i enjoyed the fight between Ywach and Ichibei, the last 70~ chapters have been absolutely horrible: pointless powerups, many characters don't have a proper ending and many things remain completely unfinished, those Quincies absolutely unkilliables, powers not explained, and many many more mistakes.
Let's talk about the ""final fight"". Ichigo had many types of power, new sword, new bankai, new hollow development, control of quincy blood...and we didn't see a shit. Ywach just destroyed him again, and again...Tite Kubo just overpowered Ywach so much, to an insane point. Ichigo's new bankai just breaks again and again vs Ywach. Why even bother to design ichigo's new appearance and bankai to fuck both of them in just two chapters or so. The way they defeated this guy was a complete asspull, and the ending has no sense at all. What a way to destroy a manga, a show, that i enjoyed so much for many years. As i said,may things incomplete and unexplained...Zero squad? Vizard? Fullbringers? Grimmjow and Arrancar? Why Aizen is still in the fucking chair? The couples at the end have sense but that's not the big deal here. I don't know...this arc just destroyed Bleach.
Talking about art, it improved along the series,but it's so clear that Kubo doesn't have any helper. The backgrounds are so plain, boxes are so big and there are very few dialogue, what slows down the manga. Look One Piece in comparison and you'll know what i'm talking about.
Overall, the last arc illed my Bleach enjoyment. Was pretty awful and painful to see, specially if i was a bleach fan for 10 years. Thank you, Tite Kubo.

Based on how high MAL's mean score is for the majority of shows I can say that Baccano! is pretty underrated even if i'm rating lower than the mean score in this review. I'll explain why.
Story: 8
Baccano's story itself is nothing special actually, it has nothing that could surprise you. The difference is made in how the story is told.
Yes, Baccano! has a superb narrative technique that makes this average story extremely entertaining, because that's the best word for Baccano!: entertaining. It's one of the best examples i can put upon the table of "style over substance" definition. The three plots the show has are
...
mixed in a perfect way to make them truly entertaining and almost flawless. However, Baccano! has no real deep or true substance behind it. It's just a story full of style and coolness but nothing more. That doesn't mean, of course, that the final product is bad, nothing further than that.
Art: 9
This is 2007 and this art is FREAKING AMAZING, fitting the series pretty well. The animation is almost flawless, although it's not colourful at all. Characters well designed and action scenes so good no doubts. Visual 1930 orgasm even today. Good job, Brain's Base, considering it was their first big work.
Sound: 10
This OST, oh god. I've never listen to an OST that could fit better a series. I think that, among with the narrative, this is the point that carries the series so far, making it entertaining, cheerful and bombastic. Voice acting pretty good too, i've watched it with subs but i heard that this is the best anime english dub out there, so i guess you can take a look to the dub version. I think it works well due to the western setting.
Character: 7
I think this is the biggest flaw of the show. Characters are well-characterized, each one has his own and unique personality (you gotta love Isaac and Miria if you didn't watch it yet) but they are not well developed. Baccano! has a huge cast and it's imposible to develop it nicely in 13 episodes, considering the lack of deep meaning aand substance of the show too. Only the Train plot's characters get some development. However, the majority of the cast is likable and entertaining, and Isaac & Miria carry the series pretty well during the confusing first episodes.
Enjoyment: 9
Baccano! is fucking amazing and i enjoyed it as well. It's truly an entertaining masterpiece and you'll probably enjoy as a child.
Overall: 8
Baccano! acomplishes its goal very well. It doesn't try to be a mindfuck masterpiece or something that make you think about nothing. It's an average to cool story told in the coolest possible way. I think it's underrated because, being the best example of "style over substance" i've watched, it should be rated higher acording to the people that rate about their enjoyment, and this is a masterpiece of enjoyment.
"Do you recommend this anime" Hell yes. I think it's a must watch.
If you liked Baccano!, take a look to:
- Hellsing Ultimate, another entertaining and bombastic show with a darker tone.
- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, if you want another show about alchemy, but way more deep, while longer.

1 minute. Just one minute is what you need to see this. It's even on youtube, so, why you should NOT see it?
Because it's not worth even a minute of your time. Use that minute to think about the universe, to masturbate or even to do absolutely nothing, but don't watch this, even if you have a "bizarre interest" like i had.
Why i'm wasting my time writing about this shit that doesn't deserve none's time? Because i'm a good person that want to prevent you to watch this shit.
Watch only if you want a quick update for your list, but you are warned.

Toradora, probably the best romance anime i've ever watched. Let's check it out.
Story: 5
Well, there isn't a real plot in Toradora actually. It's just a typical high-school slice of life, with its typical chapters and arcs (pool, cultural festival, christmas, valentine's day...), but how the story is greatly developed completely belongs to the characters. This anime is fully about bonds and relationships between the characters, and it wouldn't be fair if I consider this as a plot thing.
Art: 7
Toradora has been animated by J.C Staff studio in 2008, and I can say that is a very good work. The animation flows smoothly and the "fight"
...
scenes are gorgeus. It is well directed and shows everything it wants to show. Nothing wrong with the animation.
Sound: 8
Toradora's soundtrack is quite average: it does not mind, but neither stands out especially. HOWEVER, there is one track. A track called "Lost my Pieces". And oh god, it's absolutely beautiful. This one doesn't sound that much during the series, BUT ALWAYS AT THE RIGHT TIME. How this soundtrack is used brilliantly, besides the OPs (Pre-Parade and Silky Love, Pre-parade especially stands out) and the ED (both very good), is what makes this anime sound good as hell.
Character: 10
Toradora's strongest point. As I said before, this anime is fully about characters and their relationship. All its characters are well characterized and developed. For example, You can think "oh, Taiga is so much tsundere, same shit again". However, Taiga evolves a LOT through the series, you can feel her pain, and Kushieda's too. Kushieda is probably the best character in the series (best doesn't mean favourite xD). She hides a lot of things under her mask and you wanna discover it. Ryuuji is also a good character, with fears and insecurities, one of the few MC you can really trust. Kawashima is a bit underated, but she's the common sense of the series, though is a bitch xD. Even Kitamura is enyoyable, while anyone look to him.
The relationships between them are complicated and deep, and toradora manages them perfectly. it's an ode to well-constructed characters.
Enjoyment: 9
I first watched this anime in one day, that says everithing. Surely it has its flaws, like ignoring the obvious, delay the plot, some deus ex machina scenes, or how sometimes male characters are not aware of anything, besides being not funny at all. But you can go through with any problems, even if you are not a romance fan, like me.
Overall: 8
Toradora is is a tender and pleasant anime. It's the difference between liking someone and to love someone, and is credible and natural, no need to preach that love is the force that moves the universe.
"Should I watch this anime?" Well, as I said, yes. Go now.
If you liked Toradora, take a look to:
-Clannad, and especially Clannad: After Story, romance is better in Toradora but Clannad is funnier and more dramatic.

Well, this is...weird.
As many people have mentioned before, we can divide this manga in two parts: the first one before the timeskip and the second one after the timeskip, starting this one after chapter 26. Many people can think: "but hey, a timeskip usually does that, look One Piece etc" Yes, but in this case there's no only difference in content but also in its vision of life, almost a complete throw. But why?
As I previously said in my anime review of Usagi Drop (which adapt this first part of manga, excluding few scenes) these episodes are completely beautiful, with a magnificent slow pacing for
...
an slice of life anime and a great story about family, sacrifice, kindness and responsability in its simple and realistic way. Daikichi is the perfect example of sacrifice and maturity, helping Rin with her insecurities like the best father in existence. But remember, he's not her father, Daikichi must remain as Daikichi. And here is where this manga gets weird. (spoilers onwards, go to the very end if you have not read it)
We have a timeskip. 10 years have passed. The narrative perspective goes now to Rin and we get a deeper character with more and more insecurities and how she face them. Well, it is done pretty well, being the Kouki arc a pretty solid arc, focusing in their relationship then and before, but the heartwarming slice of life is totally gone.
Slowly, Rin is starting to change her feelings for Daikichi, and we are getting into a confusing territory. Later in the manga, a Deus Ex Machina situation change the relationship between these two and Daikichi finally accepts her feelings.
This is weird as fuck.
This is pretty close to parental incest. Even if they are not blood related, these two had a father/daughter relationship for the last 10 years and now she's in love with him. Slowly, yes, in a natural way, yes, they explain you how, yes, but it just...doesn't work. It is true that is not THAT creepy or disturbing, you can even understand her feelings, but if you look back to the first 26 episodes, something does not fit.
In addition, the end of the manga is...abrupt. That's the word. You don't have any time to empathize with this new situation.
The volumen 10-extra is kinda good - Good side stories to know better some characters and oh god the little Rin- but its end is also abrupt.
Talking about the art, i have any problems with it, same as the anime. Cute and nice to see.
Overall, i enyoyed this manga, but i could've done it much more. If you have seen thie anime and you are in love with this world go and read this, it's still a good read, but not as good as the anime or the first manga caps.

Beautiful. That's the word.
Usagi Drop is one of the rare animes out there. Following a 30-year-old man and a small cousin whom he has adopted recently without any childcare experience, this anime is a heartwarming story about affection, kindness and family, an anime about responsability and sacrifice, an story about two characters who raise and improve together. It has an unique vission of parenthood in the medium, and also realistic.
Talking about the story itself, the pacing is slow, but it must to be slow, because real life is slow, and only in this way we can feel the progress of Daikichi and Rin as
...
a family. It's simple and realistic, and probably the best slice-of-life anime out there in terms of realism, I've missed some drama like Clannad After Story for example, but Usagi has its own way to be heartwarming, which is Kaga Rin CUTENESS OVERLOAD.
The character are probably the best part of the show. Daikichi is the perfect example of sacrifice and maturity, helping Rin with her insecurities like the best father in existence. But remember, he's not the father, Daikichi must remain as Daikichi.
Secondary characters are import too, especially Rin's friend, Kouki, who has many things in common with Daikichi, giving us many scenes dad-son-like.
I liked the art and sound so bad, first minutes of each episode in watercolor are just beautiful. Cute OP and ED, and the general animation is rather superb, especially how it show the emotions of the character (Especially Rin, that I-can't-be-happier smile is genius, similar to the manga)
The original soundtrack suits very well, some amazing piano and guitar pieces, fitting the pacing very well.
I'm proud and glad to say that i enyoyed this series a lot. I'm not a big fan of slice-of-life and their pacing, but it is sure that this one is a must watch, unlike the manga (vol.5 onwards) that I reviewed too.
"Do you recomend this anime?" Hell yes. Go watch immediately. You'll not regret.
