its not bad at all, but not so good at anything either, the story is good but sometimes feels it lack depth, and sometimes things happend because the plot said so BUT its one of the few i have seen that made good mix of everything, it have some darker than usual moments (in contrast of regular magical animes) and a good mix of real world, isekai and magic, so if you want something to watch while youre eatitng or in a random day, yeah i would say so, but its not like you need to make free time just to watch it, still pretty ... enjoyable, considering all the mistakes wich can be overlooked due to all the things this anime mixes

i wont go into too much detail because i dont like that so in summanry, i personally loved it, but i know its too slow for some people, for some not enough drama or action oe just not too fast paced enough, so if you want something fast paced full of action or drama every second well, its not for you sadly
now i dont care too much of the level of animation and such and by design you know its age, i dont know about music so i dont care, but about story and charachters, thats what i focus at so as i said for ... sake of brevity, the charachters are not that deep, but are deep enough to be characters and not devices for the plot, nor just carticatures, the plot is good considering it have nowhere specific to go, since its a travel of a merchant, then he would just go back and forth between cities to trade, but god damm some moments are good (no spoilers) and the moments with drama are well made
so in short, kinda slow paced, no clear objective, not too much of anything, and thats not bad so just enjoy the travel
also if you know something about history and economy it will pique your interest, not too deeply but just with enough moments that will make you see this in a better light, wich for me is a plus
(PD: the second season in my opinion is better after this)

ill make it short since i hate all pretentious comments who thinks everyone should read the bible they write and im writing after years of watching it but not remembering everything
the animation its nothing of another world and i usually dont care about the music
the story is nearly decent but in some parts its pretty meh
i remember when it was on air, it was painfull the amount of cliffhangers they never solved in the next chapter
the final plotwist... they werent thaaat great but i liked them a lot
in short is just watching how people who need therapy act, and how they solve it without therapy, ... but instead of it being by self healing and learning its with monsters

so, i put an 8 cuz i liked it, for the regular people might feel like a 4~6/10 forgetable but barely entering on good or bad territory if for you enter into bad you will know its not thaaat bad but if for you feels like a good one, its nearly imposible that it goes into any of your tops picks for anything
