Before I start this review, take into consideration that when I watched this, I did not read a single chapter of the manga yet. This was also the first anime I was hooked on.
During my last vacation to America, I got bored. So bored that I resorted to waching anime in desperation. When I first heard about Mahou Sensei Negima, I decided to give it a shot and watch it. I was surprised at what I had stumbled upon.

more interesting, he's also a magician. To make things spicier, the class he teaches is full of strange and interesting people such as a vampire, a person from the future, a robot etc. The combination of all these weird, crazy and wacky ideas makes the series really interesting to watch.
Now the animation is the series' weakest point. Everything looks like it was colored with watercolor. Everything looked kinda pale and lightish is hue. Also, the characters could have been drawn a lot better.
The music is where the series really shines. The opening and ending themes are really cute and are very addicting to listen to. 4 months after watching Mahou Sensei Negima, I'm still not bored of the songs.
The series also has the best bgms I have ever heard. They are composed so well that they could rival Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
Character development was good. The relationship Negi had with some of his students was shown pretty well. My only problem was some of the students in Negi's class were given so little airtime that I couldn't remember who they were much less thier names. Well with a class of 31, it's obvious this problem could not be avoided.
Personally, I enjoyed Mahou Sensei Negima. It was fun and entertaining to watch and it took away most of my boredom. It even made me shed a tear or two. But after reading part of the manga, I can say that the manga totally owns the series XD.

For me Star Ocean EX was a big letdown. I expected it to at least be on par with the game that it's based on but it just didn't work for me.
First, let's talk about its story. Originally I would have given Star Ocean EX a 10 since I expected it to be like its game counterpart. I ended giving it a six because some episodes had so many gaps inbetween them, I just got confused. The series also ended halfway through the plotline and it also had the most horrible ending I have ever seen.

vocal dramas.....in Japanese. Though I know some Nihongo, I still couldn't understand much of what they were saying. The fact that the dramas are only in Nihongo make it almost impossible for foreign fans of the series to continue with the story.
The art was average......Not much to say here.....
The songs were fair enough. They were fun to listen to for a while but they eventually got really annoying and they're also not that memorable.
In the beginning the characters were very well-developed. The four main characters, Claud, Rena, Ashton and Celine were presented well enough. Problems started arising when the other characters entered the script. For instance, the relationship between Rena and Dias could have been better presented. Leon should also have gotten more air time.
Star Ocean EX also introduces some utterly useless characters into the story such as the three random idiots, whose names I still can't remember and the jam girl, whose name i also forgot. They were so useless to the plotline that the story could go on even if they weren't there. I mean come on! The jam girl can't even fight! What's she gonna do make sandwiches in the battlefield? Oh! Maybe she can sing the monsters to death!
In the end, Star Ocean EX was a flop. Although it has so many faults, I can't stop you from watching it. You can watch it if you like. In fact, you may even like it. But for me, the game was better. You're better off enjoying Claud and Rena's adventure playing the game instead.

Ok... I'll begin by saying this. School Days Starts of as a regular harem type of anime . In the beginning, you expect it to be a typical happy-happy sort of show with lots of girls and a lot of higly suggestive scenes but that ends there. Eventually the show develops into something darker and more sinister. The show eventually focuses on the darker side of love. The show eventually centers around a lot of taboo topics such as casual sex, school bullying, underage pregnancies, insanity and even death.

harem shows. What saves the story from getting a lower score is that it suddenly takes a highly unexpected turn and catches the viewers off guard.
The art is fantastic. The art really stays true to the eroge* its based on. The characters are drawn great and they are pleasing to the eye.
School Days should be given credit because of its spectacular array of ending themes. For a short 12 episode anime, it has a hell of a lot of ending themes. From the soothing sounds of "Usotsuki" to the bewildering ballade of "Waltz", the series has songs to suit anyone's tastes and liking.
The character development is really good. The main protagonist and everyone else are presented well. You can easily see how each one one them changes as the story progresses. For instance, from a shy introverted boy, the main protaganist turns into a playboy. For an anime with only 12 episodes, the character development deserves praise.
All in all, I liked School Days. Some people might not agree with me but I myself enjoyed it. I found it very enjoyable.

Ok....To start of my first review, i'll be brief and frank. I expected much more from Jigoku Shoujo. Sure, the series was ok but it could have been better.
Let's go into more detail...
The concept of the story was unique, i'll admit that. My only problem was HALF the series was VERY repetative. Half of the total number of episodes focused ONLY on random people asking Ai Enma for their vengance to be granted. Half the series went something like this: a.) Random person wants someone sent to hell. b.) They ask Ai Enma for help. c.) Random person gets their revenge. It wasn't until someone

actually tried to stop Ai Enma did the story get more interesting.
The series was also suppossed to be scary or frightening to some degree. Personally, I didn't find it to be any of these. It lacked the impact to terrify me for more than 1 milisecond. Although, I found Ai Enma's way of sending people to hell very amusing.....not scary......amusing.
The animation was ok. It wasn't eye candy like Kanon or Clannad. It was just average.
The songs were well done and deserve praise. I loved the opening and the ending song. The bgms of the series also go well with the situations they're played at.
The character development could have been improved. While Ai Enma and the recurring characters in the story were presented very well, the series failed to focus on the three dolls/spirits who assist Ai. I expected to know exactly who they were and exactly what kind of spirits they were by the end of the series but I ended up consulting wikipedia in the end.
All in all, Jigoku Shoujo is average. It's postive points equal its negative points. It is enjoyable but there is room for impovement. The second season is a lot better.
