Hard to fully understand what the hell I just watched. The dvd is an import with really bad subtitles. When I re-watch this years from now, I will turn off subs and just watch it raw and create my own dialogue. Reminded me alot of Dog Soldier at times.

Animation was pretty bad for the most part. Lots of nudity, but not well done in terms of stunning visuals. Violence was good at times with a couple scenes that were reminiscent of Riki-Oh, but not quite as gorey. Very dated as far as animation styling.

Story was ??? Not good, from what I could make of it. ...

I watched it for the war type battle scenes. Although there weren't many (for a 26 ep series), they were well done and accurate. As one who watched military docudrama growing up, I've seen a few dogfights and bombing flights. Zipang does a good job depicting the ships and planes in combat. I watched subtitled version and did kinda give up on story after a while. It was pretty good from what I did see, but subtitles lost me. Maybe I would score dub version higher, but it was too expensive and this collection was alot cheaper. I was afraid it would get boring and ...

Worst of the shorter OVAs from the 90's. Titles like BioHunter, Wicked City, Twilight of the Dark Master and Baoh put this one to shame. Action is weak and re-hashed. Story was boring and there was no part of it that stands out. Characters are really bad. The main villain looks ok, but rather uninspiring. Uninspired actually sums up this one quite nicely. There are a ton of better OVAs to watch, but if you must, download it for free and watch it when your REALLY bored. You will be disappointed.

After watching Ninja Scroll, Ninja Resurrection, Basilisk or even Blood Reign, this is a piece of SH@T !! If you don't compare it to the above animes, it would be bad, but not as bad. Wether it's fair or not, you have to compare it to others that are like it and this maybe one of the worst. Hakkenden was even better. Animation wasn't very good and action was generic and not graphic at all. Ninjas cut people and it needs to be shown. Not fake red gashes and piss-poor blood sprays. Character development was there, but after about 20 minutes, I just didn't care ...

Wild 7 (Anime) add
I just really like the gore and violence in these older animes. This one has all the profanity, graphic violence, gorey head bashing and generally over the top style that reminds me of MadBull 34. Both are very similiar and I wish both would have continued their series'. Eng dub isn't very good, but it adds to it's charm the same way the eng dub of Fist of the North Star does. Story isn't particularly engaging, but I didn't watch it for the story. It's good, but the violence and graphic adult nature of it is why I liked it. Not as funny as MadBull ...

Preliminary (18/24 eps)
Unfortunately I fell for the descriptions and trailers. I put too much stock in them and didn't realize how much they strayed from the N.H.K being this sinister corporation and messing with this guys life. That description made me think it would be a decent anime. The first 5 or 6 episode actually had my interest. There were some good scenes like when he dropped all his girly mags in front of his mom. It reminded me alot of G.T.O. They even built up the conspiracy aspect a little and I liked Sato and his personality. Then, that girl he played cards with came into ...

The first 25 minutes are pretty cool. It has the feel of a corny cop movie with good violence and profanity laden action scenes. This 7 foot tall humungous bad guy even punches this whore dead in the face. Blood was flying and they showed a good close-up of the whole thing. I laughed so hard. There were a couple good action sequences when the hero met the vampire. They had a creepiness to them too and it sure seemed like it would be a decent one after all. Then, the bottom fell out. What the F&%# ??? Totally fell apart. Story went to hell ...

I was on the fence for a long time with this one. I finally gave in and bought it on eng dub (cheaply). It was a mistake. I couldn't find it anywhere to sample it. I didn't like the style of character animation or action scenes. Everything gave me the impression of a cheaply made mistake of an anime, like Kimera or Apocalypse Zero. Judge is another one that this reminded me of. Odd relationship going on between male lead and male villian. Sound was poor and characters were bland. It's one of those short and cheap OVAs. Unfortunately, this is a bad one. I ...

The concept of this story isn't that bad. They could have done more with it. Action is a bit lacking and it's rather generic at best. It's short (thank god), but still has low rewatchability as there isn't much there to make you want to rewatch it. Animation is typical of it's age. Characters are easy to forget and anime as a whole is worth watching if you seen most of them and are experimenting with OVAs or something. Easy to find cheap on dvd if desired, but there's much better anime to spend your money on.

Cheap ass version of Ninja Scroll. That's all I could think of as I watched this and thought about the trailer I seen for this. How dare they compare this to NInja Scroll. Dub was boring and poorly cast, story is familiar at best, action and violence is cheap and generic. Don't let the trailer fool you. However, If your a fan of cheesy dubs and the horribly over-acted OVAs, this one's for you. Weak blood sprays and cheap character design really make for a low-budget looking title. Yet, as a fan of these types, I have this dvd in my collection. It's right there ...
