It is hard to write a review for this anime putting aside my biases, so I wont. I am not even that good a critic, so I won't pretend otherwise. If you are wondering whether to watch the anime, certainly do. I think you owe yourself a very unique experience. There is much good in it and I will tell you what without spoiling anything. So, let's begin.

So, the premise is very misleading. When I first read it, I expected it to be mostly fanservice (Not that it is necessarily a bad thing. Fanservice can add character sometimes.) but I felt it wasn't my cup ... of tea. But I watched it because of the quiet hype surrounding it. The first episode certainly didn't disappoint and I must say I loved the show. I expected the show to be a drama that focused on the mental states and internal conflicts of its cast, and the show delivered. It handles its characters maturely, even the minor characters were given their share of development.

The sound is very melancholic and kicks in only when needed. I think that is an art and it deserves to be praised. The OP and ED are not your run-of-the-mill stuff and fit the mood of the whole show to the T. I can't talk any more about the sound without bringing in the cinematography and how the two manage to make a series completely on monologue engaging. I found Death Note a litte annoying because there was nothing for my eyes to focus on besides the facial expressions of the characters. I like that Kuzu no Honkai has so much movement even if it something petty like multiple shots zipping across screen. It showed the thought that went into making the show. Hats off, Lerche!

Animation is fairly pretty and the voice acting (no dub as of this review) is superb. Given the lack of action, Lerche went all out in trying to hold the viewers attention. There were episodes I didn't feel like paying attention but the anime engages you on a level that you can understand the overarching theme without effort. The more intricate details of the plot can be hard to grasp but that requires more dedication. I won't blame Lerche for keeping it so because of the nature of the show. It urges one to ponder over the characters and try to understand them better.

I completely stand by my high rating for the show. I wanted to give it a 10 to offset all the negative reviews, but since this show has touched me so deeply, I wanted to keep it real. I look forward to watching other shows that Lerche makes. A big "THANK YOU" to the people who made this anime...I mean EVERYONE!

Probably the best psychological thriller there is. Not many mangakas i'v read put as much thought into their manga as the authors of this have. Work like this is the reason I prefer japenese comics over american comics.That said the Plot is not consistent. The plot becomes somewhat predictable and disappointing after a certain important event (it really is important) but that taken into consideration it still is top on my list of favourites

Honestly not the best of choices especially if u r kinda new to manga. It's supposed to be a fusion of humor and action, failing in both. The plot seems kinda cliche and the jokes are rarely funny (atleast to me). If you are the more intellectual type this is definitely not for you. The art work though is praise-worthy and is wat drew me to this manga. Expect nothing and u should be able find this entertaining
