Two words:
Wholesome and Relaxing.
This is one of those I could consider as my comfort anime tbh. The MC is not annoying, she actually is independent and it's fun seeing her adjust to her life in her new world. She may show that 'dense' female lead energy but it's not to the point that it makes her look stupid and annoying as other female leads do. The male lead is a gentleman and simply just a nice guy, I'm not digging his whole character design though, I'm done with dem blondes. In short, all the characters are wholesome. The whole anime is just fluff.

Yea the plot literally makes everything go her way, she's overpowered, etc. but I just love how drama-free the anime is. It's a nice breath of fresh air from all the 'stressful' anime I've been watching lol

I gave Season 1 an 8 and Season 2 a 7 cause let's be honest, the first season was way better than this one. The only edge that 2nd season had was we could see the conclusion to Liam's grand plan. The first season had the thrill of all those organized crimes made by Liam which Season 2 really lacked (understandably bc the plot has to progress).
The pacing was a bit weird, I felt there was not enough build up to the reveal of Liam's true identity. It's like "we'll introduce this new character and then boom said character is this psycho and

I'm planning to read the manga because that actually continues from where the last episode left off. The ending of the anime literally just indicated that 'yea he lives', but the manga will show what happened after Sherlock saved Liam.
But yea this was still a good show. Definitely loved the central issue being tackled which is the divide between the social classes. I hope the ideas and lessons that the anime was showing was something the viewers understood and could learn from.
PS. I so love Sherly and Liam, historians would say they're bestfriends when they're obviously lovers cmon

1. Erika was annoying, Sanda is the girl we should aspire to be.
2. Kyouya is arguably one of the biggest red flag in shoujo anime and manga. His whole ploy of the 'dog' and 'master' is pure cringe i'm so sorry

And if you're also asking why I read this a lot of times even when I'm kinda shitting on the story and the characters right now, I watched the anime when I was in high school. I'm one of those people who are guilty of coming back to these kinds of anime/manga because...this plot kinda just grew on me.
Oh also, I'd really would've preferred if the manga explored on that part where they were separated during their University years. The amount of character growth we could've seen while they were in a long distance relationship was a LOT.
PS. Kyouya was pretty handsome too so that's a bonus

Okay simple way to review this, it was generic. It's mid. Nothing really special.
But I just really read this cause one it was completed, I didn't wanna wait for updates so if you're looking for a shoujo manga that's rich in plot, this isn't it.
The female lead was dense as fck. Literally the 2 guys are giving all the signs in the world that they like her but she couldn't get the point.

I started reading this because I saw a video about this manga being completed and thought I'd give it a try. Also I really love male characters with glasses so here we are lol
The story was pretty good, I didn't know that this was an 'age gap' love story and while I am not necessarily someone who enjoys this kind of trope, I still decided to read further and eventually finish this.

shocked to find out there was a 10-year gap between the two of them. I do not disapprove of age gaps even in real life but considering that the story started with the female lead being in high school, I think it's valid to say I was a bit bothered.
A good part of the beginning of the story TRIES to play it out that he was being an 'adult' and only trying to take care of her because she's a high school student who started living in a shared house with adults. At least that's how I interpret it to be but from Day 1 his actions always seemed suspicious. He was overly concerned about her compared to the other people in the house which in my opinion, the other adults living in the house had more 'understandable' guidance to her. Matsunaga was just EVERYWHERE in her life at the house (tho to be fair he was working at home and the others weren't but still??)
So given that build up in the story, my assumption was that Matsunaga would wait for her to be out of high school and even wait for her to be considered as an 'adult' (and i'm not talking about 18 years old here which is barely an adult, i'm talking about like 20s) so imagine my shock when he confessed he also loved her (even though Miiko confessed first) and even kissed her at the latter part of the story, knowing full well she was in high school.
Like I really appreciated that Matsunaga was being shown to be 'waiting' for her at some point because he did know making a move on someone way younger than him and someone who's in high school is definitely wrong but it all came crashing down when he did made moves on her (even when she kind initiated one of the kisses). Some of the 'cover up' to these details I mentioned is I guess how he moved away from the house when the two of them confirmed their feelings to each other. I guess it's trying to steer clear from any possibility of them doing 'stuff' if they're under the same roof.
Nevertheless, the ending was cute. He actually did 'wait' for her, in some sense she graduated from University and they started living together and stuff. I love how we see Miiko become successful and I'm happy to see that they're kind of in equal footing now that she's an adult and working. I also love how less annoying Miiko was compared to other female leads in shoujo manga and Matsunaga wasn't that overly serious adult guy that I commonly see in these age-gap manga, he actually has a balance of his goofy and serious side to him (I also admire how serious and dedicated he could be in his work, he gotta teach me his ways).
Anyway it's a solid 7. It still had a cute plot, nice characters but there really are elements or aspects of the story that I disapprove of as I have discussed earlier.
PS. I still would've chosen Ryo, he was the best boy, the man really deserved her. He's also a doctor so +10 points in my standards and most especially he's a cat lover which gives him +100 more points. In short, I love him.

Currently on episode 7 and I can say this was a very good watch.
It may not be the best out there when it comes to the plot twists or the strategies because most of them were very simple/obvious and hence predictable.
The MC is not necessarily smart, his enemies are just pretty stupid tbh. However, I still appreciate that they're trying to showcase a 'smart' character in the series (tbh I'm just a sucker for such characters). Also his waifu is not annoying. She actually does support him and the plot does not necessarily push the two of them to be a 'couple' at the moment which I like. I just wish she contributes more in the planning of their strategies but I guess the plot just wants it to focus more on the MC.
However, I wouldn't say this was a bad show. This was still pretty much an enjoyable show. The way I'd put this show is that I highly recommend this if you have free time and you just couldn't find any anime to watch at the moment. It's a show that you can watch to pass time.

I'm someone who was spoiled about this whole show, I'd be lying if I said that, that didn't decrease the enjoyment but to be honest, it was lesser than I expected to be. I knew of the skills of the more famous characters and a vague idea of how the story was going to flow but my enjoyment was still very high.
Let's start with the plot. So Gege (the mangaka) has mentioned before that he was inspired by older anime and among those was Naruto. I know, I know, you're all maybe gonna attack me for this but this

anime reminds me so much of Naruto...not in a bad way. Cause let's be honest, there was a lot of element that really does resemble Naruto...
(e.g., Sukuna is to Yuuji as Kurama is to Naruto, cursed energy works similarly to chakra, literally Yuuji, Megumi and Nobara is Team 7 in Naruto, Sasuke is literally one of the biggest models for Megumi - describe the two of them without mentioning cursed techniques or chakra/ninja and you can easily mistake one for the other: dark haired, teenager, has daddy issues, has sibling issues, a tsundere for the MC, desires to grow stronger and catch to the MC)
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with these similarities because Naruto is indeed an inspiration to this show and other shows as well. Also, JJK was able to grow out of that inspiration and despite the similarities, the two shows are distinct from each other. I also heard the manga would establish that distinction more.
Anyway onto the next point...
This is a shounen anime and the plot gives you exactly that, hence why I gave it a 7 (could even go up to an 8 tbh). The story is typical, you can predict what's going to happen, it's a standard shounen that gives you what you expect from a shounen anime and that's the reason why it's good. A shounen anime is about the action, the protagonist's journey, the annoying antagonists, the interesting supporting characters, the power scaling, etc., and JJK gives you all of that interestingly. It's an anime that gets you hooked to it.
I do have to appreciate though that with the enjoyable plot, the characters give so much support to it. I have to give extra appreciation to the female characters created by Gege. It's not a secret that female characters in shounen somehow gets depicted as those 'weak' ones or at least they're only strong in the beginning then gets trashy in the end. If Sakura was only introduced in the same way Nobara or Maki was introduced, she wouldn't have a ton of haters as she does now even after more than a decade has passed since the anime's debut.
Also the power scaling also makes more sense in this anime. There's a clear distinction of who are the weak and who are the strong characters in this show and that's better in my opinion. Instead of introducing 'strong' characters that only gets sht on as the story progresses to make the main characters look better, it's better if there's already clear differences between their powers and capabilities. It gives more diversity to the world that is being built.
There are a lot of questions that are still not answered but I wouldn't mind those right now with this season because this is the FIRST FCKING SEASON. It's literally an introduction, the problem with those unanswered questions will be serious if the following seasons won't be able to clear them out. An example of those questions I expect to be answered would be: "Why tf is Yuuji able to be a vessel for Sukuna?"
To those reviewing that JJK is sht because there's so many confusing stuff, this situation is literally similar to AOT, remember in S1 when people said it was boring and just about Titans? Well here we now in the Final Season, where all those questions about the fcking basement was answered.
I could write so much more but I'm typing this at night and my brain just couldn't. With the last episode though I am kinda inclined to proceed with the manga given that it's going to be a while for Season 2.
To end, JJK is a good shounen anime.
Is it overhyped? No, cause it actually is a good show.
Is it the best shounen anime? No. If someone says that then that's the time JJK is what we can call 'overrated'.
It's a good shounen but it's not the best. However, it does deserve the praise it's getting because IT IS a good watch.

This review has some slight spoilers about the movie though I tried my best to make them sound very vague. Still some of you may not like that so just skip this review.
OKAY. I might get hate for this but compared to the other movies of Detective Conan, this isn't really up there. Maybe I expected too much, especially this movie focuses on the Akai family, which arguably has the most favorite or most-loved characters in the series.
And if you compare Shu from Movie 20 to this one?? The difference is just too big.

main characters for the movie that 'centers' around them. They were mostly there just to talk with Conan or show themselves, but were not really involved in solving the case cause they only looked like assistants to Conan (not that this doesn't happen in the other movies or in the anime but you get the point)
Moreover, I'm so disappointed as to how little the roles of Mary and Shukichi were in this movie. Shukichi has a lot to contribute in crimes/cases especially in deduction since he's a good strategist and is presented as a very intelligent character but in this movie he was reduced here to being a 'boyfriend'. I love his relationship with Yumi and all but pls this ain't it. Mary was just being edgy and mysterious throughout the movie and it was annoying, like I get that her full story or background isn't shown in the anime yet and that's why she couldn't do much and expose what she could do, but she looked so useless here I can't- T_T
Also the plot's a bit all over the place?? If compared to the previous movies, this one's a bit confusing and in general wasn't really engaging. The trailer shows that this movie was related to the Olympics but after watching, it didn't really seem like that.
To end, I'm not saying that this movie was so bad or appalling. In my opinion, it's just a difference in the level of hype that I felt from when I watched the trailer and when I watched the actual movie. I had all these expectations and when they weren't satisfied, my mind just decided to not like it as much as I did with the previous DetCo movies.
I do hope that they make another movie with the whole Akai family or Shukichi and Mary. They need a redemption arc after this movie O.O
