While the animation of this show was at first questionable, I feel like FLCL Grunge did a great job just condensing what made FLCL great to watch. The Anime's one-day episode, broken into multiple points of view, gave us so much to look at. More world-building, more about normal life in this world.
There are moments when Grunge gave us these real down-to-earth mellow times that remind me of the calm and peaceful moments of the original, While at the same time still giving us, while not as good as the original, the action moments. Which for what they were, were just fun.
