As a girl, this has to be one of the most awful shows I have ever watched.
Imagine you are a girl, and you get a kazuya living next to you, going to your school, can't get over his ex, black mails you to continue being his gf, all while being so spineless and worthless that he let's a literal bug walk over him when he needs to do any amount of push back when it actually matters.
This would be any girl's nightmare, which this show, with its obviously written by a guy narrative, doesn't seem to realize and thinks is funny.

This is a great show that I feel threw away its entire plot in the last 2 minutes of the final episode. Like they've ended the season PERFECTLY, then the writer couldn't control themselves and had to keep writing and wrote the story from a Your Name level of perfect ending to one that is just sadistic, evil, needlessly cliff hangery and lacking in confidence.
It just feels like they had so little confidence that people will come back for season 2 that they decided to write one of the most contrived and unnecessary endings in and ruined a beautiful story from the heart into ...

I'll fight, ANY, CREATURE, Simulatcrum, contraption, refuse that claims this show is not a masterpiece. Just.... just don't even start. Overall this show is great but it is extremely overrated. I think it is heavily carried by the strengths of the art direction, character design, and characters themselves. The plot itself is nothing to really extraordinary.
I think it commits the common trope within this genre where the actual most interesting character is not the main character, but rather, a manageable character is put into that spot. I think Sound Euphonnium Seasons 1 and 2 are perfect shows in that they allow you to connect totally with the various characters, everyone, every story, is given the room to breathe and develop naturally.
That is the biggest downfall of this movie. THis movie tried to cram an entire season worth of story into 80 minutes, and in the end, no one could see their stories develop satisfactorily. I really don't think my words can justify just how much I love this show. I related to this story, and every character (Except Asuka) on such a personal level that I have literally no words to describe my thoughts other than that it is the best show I've ever watched in this medium.

Finally after the disasters that were the first two seasons, this show finally grows some legs and delivers an engaging plot progression where interesting characters actually stay alive for long enough to have satisfying character arcs.

This show is the embodiment of "I'm 12 and this is deep". The plot progresses via the most monotonous three notes being repeated over and over again throughout the entire season. Something relieving happens, requiem starts to play, something hopefully happens, repeat. The characters ultimately have zero agency or story, whatever they have is just set dressing because their ultimate purpose are all to sacrifice themselves for the most unlikable main character since Shinji and Shirou.

This show is excellent for players of the game to help us interact with the story in another way, but as a show, it is perfectly average. Nothing about it is offensively bad, and nothing about it is remotely exceptional either.
This show thus far makes a habit of throwing away major scenes to build excitement such as grand entrances of characters or final stands due to what I assume to be Hypergryph being unwilling to pay the kind of money to animate action. This show is nothing but fun, it knows what it is and doesn't try to be anything but.
The character design is phenomenal, the English voice actors are phenomenal, the action is phenomenal, and the music is excellent. The setting and world is perfectly concise and clear and optimized to deliver the story.
