Preliminary (1/22 eps)
After seeing the first few minutes of MtH, I hav enoticed the character design for Michiko. She doesn't look like 99.99% of anime girls (woman in her case) but she looks 99.99% better than them. The sexy, cute, strong, rowdy, independent woman is composed to perfection in her. And I am glad to say that she never uses her sex-appeal to get what she wants.

As you can probably see, Michiko is the strongest point in this anime, but that doesn't mean that the side characters are worthless. This is one of the handful of animes in which side-characters and "villains" have more depth in ...

This could have gotten a big fat "1/10" if not for the art/fanservice.

Basically an H-Game that should have been an H-Anime. The storyline is so poorly constructed and contained reasoning so shallow that I have thought to myself "WTF?" or "That's so shallow".

The deal with Princess Lover is that it's basically a harem anime but for the reason of making it feel different (in a disastrous way) from the rest, it goes on by inserting a serious side to the plot which can be seen halfway to the end.

This is where the story becomes irredeemable.

The first 2 or 3 episodes was quite interesting since it ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (Unknown/? chp)
Since the author realized that he's going to make this run as long as he lives (or as long as there's interest) it has become a formulaic, and repetitive story. It basically runs like this:

-Training
-Fights
-End fight filler
-Rinse and repeat... FOREVER!

Of course there are good fights with the occasional serious Takamura title match. However, there are too many filler fights (Ippo title defense and Kamogawa gym underling matches) to keep things interesting during volume 50+. With how things are going, this manga will stretch forever.

It is likable though since I have lasted up to v60 and still going but I have found myself scanning the post ...

Preliminary (1/14 eps)
MOD EDIT: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is posted in the more info tab.

As expected not a lot has changed. The animation hasn't changed much but it is evident that there were some budget skimping. There's also the new ED which is pretty lackluster. Music wasn't the biggest selling point of Haruhi so let's just keep it at that.

I wasn't expecting anything story-wise since this is an insert episode. Like the 1st season, there are a number of pseudo-physics explanations. Even though this episode is an insert, I didn't see the need to rewatch the previous episodes but it doesn't mean that it's fully self-contained. ...

A departure from the TV series. This time around, it focuses on Horo's tsundere dere side to Laurence. However, it doesn't mean that it doesn't have the educational theme of the TV series. We all know how much we love the medieval economics knowledge *sarcasm*.

Animation quality was almost unchanged from the TV series considering that this is an OVA. It's still Spice and Wolf.

It was an enjoyable watch so I gave it a good rating.

Gainax is one shrewd animation studio.

With the reuse of 95% of the footage including the "infamous due to crap animation" episode 4 Gainax truly maximized their earnings. In addition to this, there are moments in the movie that felt diluted in contrast to the TV series. Maybe it's due to Gainax compressing half of the series to an almost 2 hour mark. Maybe it's poor directorship. I don't know. To be honest. The recap episode (ep. 16) owns the movie format. Then again. That was a recap.

On the bright side. There is the Spiral King intro and the climactic battle between Gurren Lagann and ...

Preliminary (1/11 eps)
From the 1st episode, the anime shows a lot of promise. There's also the buzz and semi-hype about this anime. Buzz and hype almost always equates to good. However, it's way too early for judgement. But from what I saw, this is one of the 2 animes this Fall 2009 season that I'm looking forward to every week.

What really absorbed me to this anime is the OP. This is the best OP for this season bar none. I can't really explain but it has a very very post-modern feel in it. Did I mention that the OP was from Oasis called "Falling Down". The ...

Maria†Holic (Anime) add
Perverted Lesbian + Evil Cross Dresser = Fun

Without Maria and Matsurika this series will become another post 1st season Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

On to the review:

In the tradition of the earlier Shaft comedies (Pani Poni Dash, Negima, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei) this is an episodic comedy. As with most episodic comedies there isn't exactly a real story. In short this is all about the gags even though some of them are too overexplained and simply fail.

Kanako with Maria and Matsurika is comedy gold. Kanako with other characters who's names escape me usually equates to fail. The problem here is that Maria+Holic uses the KMM combo sparingly. ...

G-On Riders (Anime) add
All the otaku-oriented fanservices rolled into one.

Unless you're looking for 13 episodes of super-powered teenage schoolgirls, mini-harem, meganeko, lolis, heaps of fanservice, and a +1 bonus valentine episode that didn't think the above was enough then I suggest not to read any further.

On to the review:

It's just a bunch of schoolgirls fighting off an alien invasion composed of loli girls. If the premise isn't childish then I don't know what is. With this you can expect the monster of the week and all those things above. I can't really expound anymore since there's nothing to expound about.

The art, sound, and character designs are the ...

From the synopsis I think I know what you're expecting. Yes. It's your typical martial-arts love-comedy.

I didn't have to turn on my brain while watching this. It's pretty much your average and inoffensive shounen anime served in an average and inoffensive way. Perfect after a tiring day at school or at work.

On to the review:

Episodic almost throughout the whole 12 episodes. It doesn't try to be groundbreaking nor does it try to be "deep". However on what it did not try, it succeeded on making the anime fun. Let's face it, there are times that everyone would simply want to sit back, turn off their ...
