****SPOILERS AHEAD****
The 1st episode is focused around Ren's memories of Akechi and their interactions that we didn't get to see in the anime and some we didn't even see in the game. Whilst this reflection isn't covered in the game I actually enjoyed and appreciated it being covered here. Akechi's death is something that is mostly brushed over in the main story and doesn't really have much importance in the grand scheme of things but I apreciate that in this first episode we see that it actually did have a big impact on Ren. he could see that he was a victim of orchestrated fate too and could have been helped given the chance. The animation quality was definitely lacking a little but that didn't bother me too much. Overall this episode adds some good depth to both Akechi and Ren as individuals but also as friends. I give the 1st episode an 8.5/10.
The 2nd episode uses a POV format to cover all of the valentines dates in a strange but unique way. The animation quality was significantly better in this episode and probably better than the actual main anime series itself funnily enough. The part with Ryuji was adapted extremely well and I feel improved the already hilarious scene. The addition of the extra date at the very end was really cool to see. I give the 2nd episode an 8/10.
Overall its an 8/10, it covers both a very somber and reflective story but also a very light hearted and cute story and they both work well.

I started watching this series with low expectations and left feeling like a changed man, this series was so damn good. The characters were great, the comedy was excellent, the pacing was perfect, there are so many good things I could say about this show!
I really liked how the mindset and actions of Itski become so much clearer as the story goes on, he starts off just seeming like an idiotic freak but by the end of the show each of his personality traits can be explained by something from his past. Really good example of character development.
My only flaw with this entire anime is
...
it's title and it's summary, they do not in any shape or form do it justice. Accompanied with the opening scene in episode 1 they give the impression that the show is something along the lines of "Oreimo" or "Eromanga Sensei" when this is NOT the case at all.
I've seen some of the illustrations from the light novel so I know some of the story ahead and I would absolutely love to see another season covering those events.
Completely blew expectations out of the water. Overall score: 9/10

I watched this a few months ago and I really quite enjoyed it. Some of the themes in it are probably uncomfortable for a lot of people and so I understand why a lot of people would dislike it. However I feel the show's strong point is making you consider your own beliefs on controversial themes, the Sora arc definitely doesn't come as a shock after watching the first few episodes. The topic of incest is really controversial because no one can clearly state on a case by case incident what the right answer is, because of this it's really interesting to see how the

other characters react to this and how the twins react to it themselves.
Obviously the incest section is only the final part of the show and the rest of the anime has some really good character and well-placed drama so if you wished you could just skip the Sora arc and still enjoy the show.
Overall I enjoyed it because it gives you a chance to see things through a different perspective and how different things can look in different circumstances. Overall I give the show a strong 7/10

Excellent conclusion to an excellent series, I was so happy it didn't end on a pointless cliffhanger that just leaves you irritated and wondering why it ended there *cough* Toradora *cough*
The romance was done really well, I really liked the idea that Tamako shared feelings for Mochizou, its just she was too dense to realise throughout the series and only embraced those feelings when she thought she might lose him. best friends just makes it better).
I was left feeling both happy and sad, extremely happy and satisfied that we got to see them get together at the end but also sad that there is no more story to follow. Personally I would love to see some kind of sequel short/story showing them as a couple but I'm happy with it ending here.

I can't believe that this anime only gets a 7.3 score. It was a wonderful show with an insane amount of charm and character, it reminds me a lot of "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid" because it has a very similar community/family vibe.
Story: 8/10
Extremely relaxing to sit and watch this, no unnecessary drama just a very pleasant and warm atmosphere with a lot of really nice moments.
Character: 10/10
Excellent range of characters with varying personalities and feels like an actual community of people rather than just cookie cutter side characters. Also Dera was amazing, he fit so well into the show that you almost forget that

he's a bird.
Overall Score: 8
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, I stumbled upon a link to the movie in a Discord chat and then decided to watch the series before watching the movie. I am really glad I made that choice, highly underrated show and deserves to be up in the 8's score-wise.

This review will be covering all 4 seasons of the show and might include some spoilers:
I went into this show having no idea what to expect, with most animes I had watched at least a few clips on YouTube so I kind of knew what to expect and what would happen story wise. This anime was an exception, I saw someone on a forum say that this was a really good romance/comedy anime (I'm a big fan of this genre) so I was bored one day and decided to watch the first few episodes.
Within the first 2 or 3 I was hooked on the

show, it has a really good sense of humour, the art style is really pleasant, each of the characters are really unique and interesting. In the first season there isn't a massive focus on the romance between the characters but there are a lot of nice, sweet scenes that give you enough to look forward to how it will go in the next few seasons. The first season's story is relatively the same, its not over the top with action and instead acts as nice introduction to all of the characters.
The story picks up a lot in the following seasons, there is a lot of character development and universe expansion, you start to see a lot of the countries you only heard mentioned in previous seasons and it carries a lot of story over from the previous seasons.
Seasons 1-3 were excellent yet somehow season 4 managed to be even better, you see some major character development from both Louise and Saito, their relationship advances leaps and bounds and even the story somehow gets better than it already was. I don't say this lightly, but the ending of season 4 is the closest thing to perfection I have ever seen in an anime so far.
"The Familiar Of Zero" is a truly excellent show that I would recommend to anyone.
Overall I give the entire series a 9/10

-----------------Story spoilers ahead----------------
The beginning of this season is very reminiscent of the second half of the first season, it feels really jarring to suddenly be thrown into this brand new MMO with a massively different tone than any of the others. Personally I don't think its fair to rate a show based only on one part and not on it overall so I am going to give the 2 halves a separate score and review.
First half - Gungale Arc:
Score: 6/10
The concept of an FPS MMO is really cool and I could imagine something like Gungale being extremely popular in the real world but as

a tool for narrative it really wasn't very interesting. In Sword Art there was an air of tension at all times because death was a very real and very present threat, however in Gungale this tension still seems to exist amongst all players regardless of the fact that dying in the game means nothing. I really liked the idea that "Death Gun" was a previous member of the Laughing Coffin guild in Sword Art, I thought that was a very clever way to keep the memories (and horrors) of Sword Art active in the character's minds. I really liked how it confirmed that psychopaths like Laughing Coffin are still around in the real world. However having the shock realisation that one of the Death Guns was Sinon's friend just seemed too cliche. It just feels hard to believe that he could have such a massive personality change. I can completely understand his brother being like that because for over 2 years he had been in a reality where his goal was to murder anyone he could and he got a sick thrill out of doing so, I don't really understand how that mindset could be adapted by his brother even though he was never a part of anything like that.
Second half - Alfheim Arc
Score: 9/10
Going back to Alfheim was like the sensation of opening a window to let cool air into a really hot and stuffy room. The over-the-top edginess of the previous episodes completely disappear and it returns to the lighthearted and fun tone which makes sword art great. The mini Excalibur arc was really fun to watch and the fact that it brings along Sinon and is even better. The stuff with Yuuki afterwards was also excellent, I really liked the switch in perspective to focus on Asuna rather than it's usual focus on Kirito. We get a lot of really nice romance scenes during these episodes as well as we get to see the supportive side of Kirito instead of him being the front-man like usual.
Overall Score: 8/10
Because of how massively the quality went up in the second half its only fair that my overall score reflects that as an 8/10. I'm looking forward to any future seasons.

I wasn't exactly sure what to expect starting this show, I saw that a lot of my friends had enjoyed it but I was a little unsure whether I would like it as much. Within a few episodes I realised it was a quality show, the art is excellent and even within the first few episodes the story was already being progressed at a good rate.
I am a massive fan of seeing well-written romance included in a show (almost any genre can fit it in, if done properly) and I was extremely happy to see how well romance was written in the show, fortunately

the quality of the romance builds at a good pace throughout the show and matched with the great character personalities it makes you feel happy to see the couple together in those scenes. The romantic build up is also very quick throughout the first half which was a surprise to me but it is very refreshing compared to most shows where you're lucky for characters to even hold hands before the end of the first season. I could go on and on for hours about how much I enjoyed the more domestic scenes before the mid-way point but I think I have already summarised what I think is most important. To be clear I enjoyed the scenes so much that I would watch a show on it's own solely including domestic scenes.
The second half of the season dips slightly in quality and the tone/pacing is changed up quite a bit (for story reasons) but I still found myself enjoying it. Even with this, the story keeps your interest because you are waiting to see what will be happening before it reaches the end. Overall I was extremely impressed by the quality of this show, I am really glad that I listened to my friends and decided to watch it. I have watched quite a few different anime and I think this is definitely one of the most accessible to different people, regardless of whether you're into games or not yourself there is definitely something in it that almost anyone can enjoy
