Psst, hey kid. Yeah you. You fancy some old school anime and like dinosaurs? Oh boy, I got something for ya'. This movie comes from the late Shoutarou Ishinomori; author of Cyborg 009 and Gilgamesh that was released in July 1979. You probably haven't heard of it before. Why watch over 1.000 episodes of One Piece when you can watch this masterpiece and get your hopes and dreams towards the future get shattered in a million pieces! Let's go!

an unidentified flying object. This is supposed to be an adventure sci-fi adventure or something with a good moral message at the end. I think. I sort of can guess why Shoutarou Ishinomori made this in the first place, I mean, he's the author of Cyborg 009 and Gilgamesh; which seems his most known manga/anime adaptation in modern times according MAL statistics. It might have been populair back in the end 70's - early 80's in Japan, but nowadays? I don't think so. I mean, I know pretty much all kids love dinosaurs, but there's so much better dinosaur content these days aimed for that demographic.
Art: 6/10 (Fine)
Visual-wise for the time being it looks pretty decent. Maybe you might be thinking; "Dude, this shit is from the end 70's. This looks like dog shit!" Yeah and who knows maybe you're right but still for me that's still pretty much the only positieve thing I can say over this film. It look alright to me for being made in the end '70's which is currently as of this writing more then 40 years ago! Maybe that's something? Maybe it's just because of Toei Studio. That's also maybe the reason. They can make good drawings; if they are motivated enough that is and you could tell most of the time they were motivated enough when drawing the prehistoric animals more in detail.
Sound 4/10 (Bad)
Not really sure what I can say about the audio, but did I enjoy the OST? Not really to be honest. It felt a bit lacking for sure. I haven't watched that much older movies from this time period, but I'm pretty sure it went in the direction of stereotypical soundtract usage of these "dinosaur" movies and those giant animal monster movies from around '60's. Yeah, it's bad for sure. I'd say pass in my books. Voice acting wasn't being good either and the music tracks being used also sort of raised an eyebrown which sure was a bit odd. It is what it is, I guess.
Charathers: 4/10 (Bad)
The charathers, well, there all very basic from what I've seen. Bland I even could say. It's just a young boy with a bit of femine side named Jun, a young girl about the same age named Remi and a smaller boy named Chobi. All pretty bland to me. Nothing really special. Kind of a shame they were so bland. What character development you say? I mean, this is a slightly over one hour long film. You really can't do much with that ammount of time.
Enjoyment: 3/10 (Very Bad)
I can't really say I truly enjoyed this movie. It was rather difficult to go trough, but hey, at least it wasn't as horrible compared with all the past Jurassic World movies that recently got released that keeps getting worse the more people are producing those. Yes, I'm going to mention something about "the science" here being brought up. They really left out a lot of things when this film was talking about the Earth 5 billions years ago and suddenly we are in Archean Epoch, followed by the Cambrian, the Devonian, yada yada... Oh boy. My brain did hurt during that sement. Big yikes. Yes, I'm aware this film is probably meant for childern but still my head did hurt. Also I have noticed quite some species being pictured that for sure weren't present during the Maastrichtian of the Cretaceous, but I'm not going to name them to avoid spoilers. You'll hopefully figure out which species I'm pointing at and hopefully make you curious.
Sure, I also can say some stuff sure has evolved regardless of knowledge in paleontology that used to be correct like at the time people were thinking a certain pretty well known dinosaur smashed their heads together in a full head-on collision in order to get the female. Back in the 1900's people were thinking dinosaurs sure did walked upright if they were able to walk bipedal and I sadly even can say even kids today do think the same, so I honesty can't really blame Shoutarou Ishinomori for making the same old mistake because I know he's wasn't an autodidact paleontologist at all for sure, which is not really a shame at all.
Now allow me to correct some things and I could say a lot of therapods should have had feathers and the cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs, well, we're sure that 66 million years a approx. 10 kilometer wide asteroid smashed into the Yucatán Peninsula during Spring time of the North Hemisphere, which was a devastating impact which knocked out the ecosystem out of course for sure for a while. But those inaccuracies I can manage to see in between the fingers since the knowledge of modern paleontology keeps evolving as well. Almost every days something gets discovered and for your average paleontology connaisseur it's hard but exciting to keep up with all the new discoveries. It's just a damn shame mainstream media refuses to catch on what the scientis are saying and just keep making the same mistakes over and over just because they want dinosaurs to be monsters instead of real animals that inherited this planet for a good whopping 170'ish million years in total. So yeah, if you're planning in watching this for the science (which you should not); do yourself a favor and go watch the documentary 'Prehistoric Planet' (2022) instead. It even has dinosaurs with lips; which is slowly being considerd correct nowadays!
Overall: 4/10 (Bad)
All in all, I personally don't think you should give this a go, but also don't want to be that critical either and butcher this into the ground. Be my guest if you want to watch something that's for sure truly being forgotten and you like prehistoric animals and you are ablle to see past all the huge errors that were being made and want to end this movie with a good moral message. Did that moral message did any justice? Well, I get it what Shoutarou Ishinomori wanted to spread out, but that's it. Did it any justice though? That's up to you to decide.

This anime comes from the source of a visual novel, more specificly the second visual novel Idol Project 2 for PC back in 1995 because there are in fact at least two visual novels of this so far I've done my research. I don't know if those are translated in English, but I assume they are not. Don't count on it; I have pretty much zero expierence with reading visual novels in overall.
This OVA is done by Studio OX. If you haven't heard of Studio OX before, fear not, I got you covered. It's founded by Atsuhiko Sugita in 1985, Studio OX was originally a

freelance art studio that produced more "anime styled" Transformers art for TV Magazine and Comic Bom Bom throughout the early years of Generation 1 in Japan. While the populairity for Transformers was declining at the time, in 1991 they became a company, providing production and conceptual artwork for various anime, primarily for reboots of older franchises, such as Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier, Tekkaman Blade, and Getter Robo: Armageddon. They also created some short OVA series like Wild Cardz and now this OVA. Lastly they have animated a few hentai as well of course as their assumed struggle in order to survive, which is honesty not that suprising how rough the anime industry really is. The founder Atsuhiko Sugita left the studio in 2000 and the company was declared defunct in 2003.
Story: (3/10 Very Bad)
The story starts with 14 year old Mimu Emilton that wants to be an idol and then ... yeah, a lot of mumbo jumbo happends. What story? Was there a story? I honesty don't know. Let's be honest, after a while I had the mindset not to think about it and just enjoy all the nonsense that was happening on my screen and it became a lot more enjoyable and bareable to watch. It's one of these "don't think about it" anime, you see. Let's go with that. There's no need to act like a 'pretentieus elitist' and what not and thrash this anime into the ground, but just some humble opnions. In the end of the day these opinions in reviews don't even matter anyway and I don't want to crack my head around it iether. I have more important stuff going on around my head.
It all depends how how much you actually care for a story in the long run. It's probably somewhere in there and it's not at all on the levels of famous novelists and you might find more story in the actual visual novels. I just don't know. Maybe you'll find more story in the actual visual novels. This anime is pretty much a barrage of nonsence with fan-service sprinkled around. I was honesty more busy enjoying the visuals, which was for me the best part.
Art: (7/10 Good)
While visual-wise it is what you can expect from the '90s. Not that good in modern times (and even then, even modern anime can look like utter dog shit like half of the time - there, I said it), but for at the time if you take in concideration of the time period it was made still pretty decent. Maybe it's just my nostalgia bias talking of the kind of animation I got used with when I was a kid. Mind you, I'm a late 80's kid, so yeah. Still I'm not a fan of these even more enormous shoujo anime style of eyes back in the day and I'll probably never will. I'm honesty glad the Japanese has moved away from that kind of design from the most part. Is it cute? Aw, hell no and it never will for me. It's a bit unappealing if you tell me. But if you can appreciate cell-animation from the 90's, you can enjoy this on the visual department. Yeah, back in my day the Japanese drawed their anime by hand and none of that computer generated bullshit nowadays. Deal with it.
Sound 5/10 (Average)
Not really sure what I can say about the audio. It felt a bit lacking here and there, but then I also had some very fun expierences at other times I just had to smile from enjoyment from the sounds they were using. Voice acting is done OK for the time being, but that's about it really. No mayor huge awards to be handled here, but I've expierenced much worse voice acting and other audio related isseus in other anime. Just don't get high expectations and it will be allright. The same can be said with the charathers, mind you.
Charathers: 5/10 (Average)
The charathers, well, there all very basic from what I've seen. You have the ordinary protagonist, a silly goose which is also a martial artist which was honesty my most favorite one of the bunch, a small girl, an obvious lesbian, the young but elegant lady, the bad-ass girl with an electric guitar, a traditional religous girl and a young female that seems to like cats. It is what it is; I guess. Very bland, but I felt the charathers together combined with all the nonsence that was happening fitted together. For the bit that I've seen at least. If you're hoping on character development; are you for real? It's only like two hours of length in total. You really can't do much with that ammount of time. Even though they may sound all so bland, in overall it was still an enjoyable bunch of charathers.
Enjoyment: (6/10 Fine)
In overall it was enjoyable. At least after the bit I just stopped overthinking about it and just starded to enjoy the content in general. It even managed to make me laugh out loud for at least two times just because from all the sillyness that was going on. There's also plenty of fan-service if you're into that kind of thing. I'm not judging you. If you're a (pretentious) prude, this anime is most likely not for you, because lots of swimsuits and a bit of nudity and some ecchi jokes that will be shoved in your face.
Overall: 5/10 (Average)
So yeah, should you watch this 2 hour long in total OVA from 1995? In summery it all depends who you are and what you like to be honest. If you like something that starts as an idol story, but then suddenly you're watching the charathers dealing with mindless mumbo jumbo with fan-service as a cherry on top; go ahead. Go ahead and watch this mindless silly OVA. If you care about a deep story and development, you're probably going to have a hard time watching this and I'll advice you to stay away, you filthy casual.

I haven't written a fully revieuw for a while now. Not that a most of people read these reviews anyway, but I feel like talking about Houseki no Kuni for a bit and how I want to express my vision and feelings and how I think about it. Since I work in a geology related museum, I'm surrounded by rock hounds on default, so I had to watch this anime sooner or later so I finally did. an over exxarated phrase, but I can say some good things about it. Sadly I have to adress it flaws as well.
So what's it all about? Well...
Story: 6/10 (Fine)
We follow the footsteps of Phosphophyllite or short Phos, a young fragile Gem that's clumsy and a bit uncertain about itself, thinks everyone is trustable but atleast Phos is like-able. I'm going to try to avoid spoilers as much as possible, but the setting plays in a distant future where Planet Earth has suffered six major impacts by rocks outerspace - it's probably symbolic for the 6 mayor mass extinctions that we know in Earth's geological history of the past 541 million years and counting and only one of them is actually caused by an asteroid impact which is the well known Cretaceous - Paleogene mass extinction 66 million years ago - that's why somehow several pieces and fragments of human DNA managed to evolve over an unknown ammount of time into several different species that they are now somehow humanoid like. These species represent the human body, mind, and spirit. I have no idea how that would work in real life, but whatever - this story is fiction so anything's possible. So anyway Phos got assigned to learn more about their world and that's pretty much the story in a nut-shell. It's a coming-of-age story. Go figure.
Art: 6/10 (Fine)
It's visuals is pretty OK to look at. It's very colourfull for sure. But if you're colourblind you gonna' have for sure a bad time watchng this one. Not that I'm colourblind myself, but still. The CGI use, well it's better then a lot more other anime, that's for sure. I just happen to think again about those horrible vectors in Elfen Lied (TV 2004) or those god awfull windmills in Haibane Renmei (TV 2002) that I've seen and this is coming from someone that actually despise CGI use in anime, but hey, we're talking Studio Orange here. They know what they are doing. So far I really can't complain about their visuals coming from them. I had no real big isseus iether with Beastars (TV 2019) or the visuals of the current airing anime Godzilla: Singular Point (TV 2021). So yeah, you did a good job studio Orange. Your CGI is better then some studio that primairly did hentai and another some studio that did an anime over approx. 20 years ago that's also no longer around iether. I still have to give a go to Ex-Arm (TV 2021) aswell at some point, mind you. Iether way, it's uncertain if this visual-wise will age well in lets say 10 years from now on. Only time will tell. We'll see.
Sound 7/10 (Good)
One of better aspects for this anime is it audio. The music; both intro and outro sets the mood to wander a bit in this bit of a strange world, yet you can feel what kind of anime this will be be. The voice acting is done by several well accepted voice actors as well. It's a bit odd to hear Ayane Sakura is voicing a charather that's not her usual kind of charaher she usually voices, but she did her job wel so it's worth mentioning that if you're familiar with her voice acting. The background sounds whenever the Lunarians show up is rememberable for sure aswell.
Charathers: 8/10 (Very Good)
One of the mayor plus points for me is it's charathers. Maybe it's because I'm a bit of a rock hound myself, but boy, do I like the charathers. Sure, they are assigned non-binairy, but let's be honest, they do show a bit of femininity probably for marketing purposes. Watching this with masculince subs still is technically speaking still more correct if we're following the Japanese language correct. Is it a bit odd? Sure, but I got used to it. I'm not gonna whine and complain now on Twitter about those masculine fansubs for this anime that exist because I don't even have a Twitter account to begin with. I have better things to do then complain and virtue signal like a toxic person. Even Cinnabar is a lot less toxic then those kind of people, heh and Cinnabar has to deal with the element mercury and that's both poisionous for gems, flora and fauna a like.
Iether way, the Gems are all pretty much based on their real life counterparts in real life. If you're familiar with geology and mineralogy you'll probably understand. Probably the author Haruko Ichikawa a bit of a rock hound herself. I don't know. I think she made mainly Phosphophyllite as a self-insert, but don't quote me on that. However, the sad part about this I pretty much only have seen character development in Phosphophyllite. All the other character just pretty much exist and show no character development, which is kinda a bummer. I really would have liked to see more character development in the other charathers. Who's my favorite Gem you'd might ask? Well, whenever Bort showed up I just felt a little bit more joy compaired with the other Gems. Cinnabar deserves together with Phosphophyllite some headpats. All other Gems probably would get headpats as well. Bort probably doesn't want headpats, but that's Bort's problem. Headpats for all Gems. Heck, I would even make-up some fan-made head-canon charathers myself if I was allowed that will spice things a bit more up, since I know their are over 5000 described minerals according to Mindat; a site I every now and then use.
Enjoyment: 7/10 (Good)
I'm going to be honest to say I did enjoy Land of the Lustrous, but it's not "a masterpiece" per se. With it's draw-backs it was a bit difficult to tell how much do I really enjoy it and that's why I needed to write a fully revieuw how do I really feel and think about this anime in the first place. I mean, I would have enjoyed this anime a lot more if it was a 2-cour series. I mean, if you gonna cram approx. 5 volumes up to chapter 31 (according to MangaUpdates) and end the animated series with an original ending, something was a bit off with it's pacing for sure. Things were happening way to quick and I feel like this is more of an advertisement to read the original source and that's a bit of a bummer. Sure, pretty much all anime based off manga, light novels and visuals novels pretty much always been an advertisement and that's always been a mayor draw back.
Overall: 7/10 (Good)
So my conclusion? Should you watch Houseki no Kuni / Land of the Lustrous? Yeah sure, it's a good watch coming from me. Just go for it. It's a nice coming of age story with nice visuals, audio and charathers, but it's pacing and given length with only 12 episodes makes it sadly a bit messy, but nonetheless it's a good watch. Sadly we'll never get a second season of this because of it's original ending compaired to the original source.

A lot of the reviews of this show that I've seen have been largely negative and I know exactly why that is. They're just like Kazuya in a way. Full of raging hormones & almost no treu life expierences. I should say what I think about it. However, keep in mind that I've seen plenty of these romantic comedy before and I'm also on average a bit older then the average user on this site so keep in mind I'm seeing it through a lens that's possibly different to some of the other users here. Story: 6/10 (Fine)
I've liked this show's story a lot. It's setting is reallistic per se. The author even admitted in renting a girlfriend to get some idea how this process even goes. Yes, in Japan you can rent a mom, a sister or even a girlfriend just for all those lonely hikikomori overthere. But keep in mind; there's no sex involved. For that you need to contact someone else. In overall the story's as a set-up pretty accurate if you're following a young fellow full of raging hormones that's going through a break-up. I've expierenced quite similair harsh expierences when I was a lot younger. Is it a bit ridiculous? Yeah, I gotta admit over the course it gets a bit ridiculous, but hey, that's anime for ya.
Art: 8/10 (Very Good)
The art in this show is really good. The character designs are cute and fit their personalities well. The animation is as good as it needs to be, and everyone is really expressive. It's obviously nothing crazy or super impressive, but it does its job really well. Where I think the show especially shines is in its background art. The playful, hand-drawn style is really done well and gives the show its own unique flavor.
Sound: 9/10 (Great)
There isn't much to be said here. Centimeter is super catchy and I find myself coming back to listen to it often. The background music is great as well, but the use of Funeral March is a little cringy in my opinion. In terms of voice actors this anime is nailing it for me. We have Nao Touyama (Karen Kujou - Kiniro Mosaic), Sora Amamiya (Aqua - Konosuba), Aoi Yuuki (Noël Kannagi - So Ra No Wo To) & Rie Takahashi (Megumin - Konosuba); all voice actors I can appreciate very well. Those four voice actors alone made me a though decision in iethjer watching this anime or not, because originally I was not really interessed in watching this anime in the first place.
Characters: 8/10 (Really Good)
I think the show's characters are where it really shines. After seeing almost all of them in action, it's obvious that they each have their own nuance, and they all feel quite natural, seeming to be equally well-thought-out for the most part.
Kazuya is a dumbass, yeah, but can you blame him for making impulsive and reckless decisions after clearly not taking a breakup well at all? He's under a lot of pressure throughout the show, and I think his often thoughtless actions reflect that. Do I hate him? No, because honesty; in the past I used to be very cringeworthy myself. Especially around woman and over the years sure do ave learned a lot from my mistakes. I do hope Kazuya eventually will learn from his own mistakes.
It's hard talking about Ruka without getting into spoilers territory, but her motivation is something I can understand afterall. For me she's the best charather of the show, but then again that's just a personal opinion.
Mami is... well, she sure is Mami. She knows how to manipulate Kazuya exactly where she wants him and it's clear what kind of effect this has had on his self-esteem and behavior. If I could warn Kazuya, I really would tried telling him he derserves better.
Chizeru is also a fun charather, but over time she starts to show her real treu nature. She doesn't really care about Kazuya at all. She's good looking though, but a well informed man knows a woman having good looks doesn't mean anything. Those looks fade over time anyway and then what?
To bad there's not much to talk about with the other one named Sumi. She's a very shy and without going into spoiler territory, that's pretty much the most I can tell about her. I just wished there was more screentime with her.
Enjoyment: 7/10 (Good)
The show has overall been pretty enjoyable for me. Heck, I'm even surpised myself I could enjoy this one. Most rom-com who's the best waifu anime just end up being pretty bad in the long run. Maybe it's because I used te a young myself with zero self-esteem and zero life expierence with woman and I can tell why people might have isseus with this show diue it's uncomfortable and sometimes ridiculous moments that this show has to offer that I actually can relate to Kazuya if I look back at my cringeworthy past. I can't say I've become particularly attached to the show or its characters.
Overall: 7/10 (Good)
I can't say much here that I haven't said already, but what I definitely can do is recommend this show. It's not for everyone, especially those who are uncomfortable with ridiculous and/or awkward moments. Maybe you'll learn a thing or two on how not to do things in life when you're young. Or you can just like me look back at your cringy past how cringeworthy you actually were and how much you have learned during those years.
Looking forward to season 2!

Will Hideaki Anno ever figure out how to end an anime? Legend says even today he still probably haven't figured that out. We'll see whenever the final rebooted movie(s) comes out of this franchise. After watching the main anime I had low expectations when I started to watch this entry what to expect next.
Did you know that the Japanese have a term for that small period of time when a man has clear thoughts after he ejaculates? It's called 'kenjataimu'. I don't know about you, but Anno Hideaki really should have rubbed one off before even thinking about in creating this alternative ending in

the first place. That statement really becomes clear when you see an Asuka Langley Souryuu in a coma and Shinji "I'm so fucked up." Ikari alone together in the very first scene of this entry in a hospital room. If people really weren't satisfied with the previous anime ending, I'm sure there will be people that aren't pleased with this ending and I'm one of them. It even made me rethink my score on the TV series...
Iether way, boy I do hate it when I'm right about my assumptions. I really don't want to repeat everything once again like I've written in my previous review about the TV series, so I'll try to keep this review as short as possible since you probably already know this is an alternative ending to the TV anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995). Atleast you're allowed to view it as an alternative ending.
The anime in general tried in showcasing the dark side of humanity, which is a good thing. Too bad the execution is pretty bad to say the least. The half end of the anime (the TV series) got butchered by poor budget and really felt rushed where they smartly avoided it by making the final two episode's happening inside the mind of the Shinji Ikari, so they were kind of forced into making this entry to please it's fans when there was once again a budget as an attempt to save the anime series. Yes, this entry Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion is just the streched out alternatieve ending for the final two episodes, nothing more, nothing less. To keep it short: both the movie and anime are honesty executed poorly. This series is the result of someone trying way to hard. Throwing random religious reference here and there without any reason, a couple of inappropriate scenes, ... I'm sorry, I just don't like it. This series could have been a terrible hentai for all I care aswell and nothing really have changed at all plotwise. Atleast for this ending we have gotten a bit more Dementia and Action, so that's atleast something. So which ending did I enjoyed the most? Honesty I find that the TV series ending slighty better but that's just a matter of personal taste.
I rate this entry a 3 nuts out of 10. One nut for Shinji for discovering his wiener, one nut for Anno Hideaki in the hope his mental health is better now and one nut just for the memes and the temporary clear thoughts. Remember fella's: when you're dealing with a woman and don't want to end up in misery; rub one out first before making your decision.

I'm sure anyone that's been into anime for some quite of time have heard of Neon Genesis Evangelion and how many people seem to praise it like it's the best thing ever invnted since sliced bread? Yeah, I finally decided to watch it aswell and if I may be honest; I'm not really a fan. Settle down, settle down, I know I can't please everyone. There's a lot things that are just plain wrong with this show, so put on your plugsuit and get inside the robot just because I told you so:

is all over the place and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. The show want to be taken seriously, but on the other hand it doesn't want that iether. It wants to be an anime packed with action with a deep meaning, but it also wants to be a ridiculous drama harem show afterwards. Pick your side, please. The story pretty much boils down that a couple of 14 year olds that pretty much get forced into getting inside robots while saving the day of an alien invasion while half of all life forms got eradicated while somehow humanity manage to get around like nothing has happend. It's not realistic at al and it's one of the things that bothers me the most. In reality for instance we heavenly depend on the ecosystem yet we're raping and polluting the planet like there's no tommrow just for the sake of money. One of the other things that I kinda disliked is that the humans always are somehow by a miracle always one step ahead whatever problem they are getting into. Sure, I understand this story is just fiction, but I really hate that mindset and setting that humanity will concur anything that gets trown at us. People really need to learn we're not that special. Sure, we did as a species some impressieve things, but we're still so vulnerable as a species. I can go hours and hours about the subject if I want to. I know this anime also reffers about mental struggles and what not, but let's be honest; everyone has those. I'll pick on this later. Don't worry. So why not add some Sidmond Freud into the mix because we know that guy had a sick mommy fetish and had some huge mommy isseus aswell. Wonderfull! Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Sidmond Freud. Why not add some religous references just for the sake in appearing to be original? Brilliant! I'm not religious iether, sorry. Iether way; no, this anime is not "a masterpiece." Please don't start on the whole "But Hideaki Anno was depressed!" argument just for the sake in trying to defend this anime because honesty that's not really a good excuse. He should be taking care of himself instead of making bad decisions. I know from myself when I have my depressed moments I just withdraw from my work for a while because I know otherwise I will make mistakes or not be happy with the results afterwards. For example: I'm actully glad Hirohiko Araki, author of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was depressed aswell when he was writing JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind (the 5th part), but he understood he was having a dilemma with Pannacotta Fugo at the time. I'm thankfull he understood of himself he would get dissapointed afterwards if he really included that certain part he wanted to include while being in a depressed state. If you're depressed; your decision-making skills are not top notch. Trust me on this one. More on this later...
So what's Neon Genesis Evangelion all about if you might ask? It's just two aliens trying to have a rendez-vous while at the mean time some 14 year old kid screams a lot because it's afterall a smart idea to put the fate of the planet in the hands of young kids. But in reality is just about your average daily suffering like your average wage slave in this postmodernism world that trives on socialism and capitalism. That's about it. Nothing really big to over exaggerate about it like many do for this anime. There's nothing "philosophical" about it or there's no "deep meaning" behind it. Anyone that's thinks that iether a) didn't get it at all, b) tries to hype this anime for what it really is or c) watched this anime as high as a kite. We're really dealing with "a masterpiece" this time, boys & girls. Atleast uncle Timz0r senpai just tells the harsh truth for what it really is. So you're welcome. Now get me a beer so I also can produce chimpanzee like pleasing alcoholgasm sounds like Misato Katsuragi did.

Animation wise for being made back in 1995 it is pretty OK for the time being. Atleast that statement is treu for the first half of the series, because after that it really begins to show they really probably had budget isseus which is a dissapointment. I agree; the first half was indeed very flashy animation wise for the time being and kept my interest in check, but around the second half is just a big mess with a lot of recycled animations and a freaking still image for almost atleast a minute long in episode 24 which is a huge turn-off. I don't even know at this point if it iether was done on purpose or they really suffered with a low budget, but that doesnt even matter at this point because the end-product became a mess afterall since Hideaki Anno wanted to remake the whole damn thing just to rob even more money from the people. Long live end stage capitalism, baby. Also it's a big shame the designs for the Angels are so ridiculous that it really doesn't feel they were a treat at all. At least make your Earth invading aliens more intimidating, so I can take this anime more seriously. Seriously, they really were THAT ridiculous in my opinion. I can't help it to mention that. Maybe they had that design for a far sought reason, who knows at this point, but in my point of vieuw they really were boring and ridiculous. They were in a way just monsters from a kids show and that's about it. C'mon, even a six year old can design even more intimidating monsters than the aliens we gotten in this anime.

The thing that stands out the most in the iconic intro song. Yes, I admit I also like the intro. It's a catchy song, but if you start focus on it more, you already know how the entire anime will turn out. Yeah, it's one of those intro's that spoils pretty much everything already without even watching it and I don't really like these kind of intro's. Incase you didn't catched that, mind you. But indeed the fate of the planet is putted on the hands of one 14 year old boy named Shinji Ikari and that's about it. Asuka's attempt for speaking German at times was laughable, but I can see that through my fingers because my German isn't that great iether untill I'm influenced from alcohol. Yes, it's cute when Japanese people are trying to speak foreign languages. But in someway I still can admire it. In overall the voice acting was done decent enough. Pretty much the whole sound department was the best part for this anime. I mean; if you decide in using some Ludwig van Beethoven, you really need to know what you're doing right? I wish I could be this positieve atleast about the charathers.
Charathers: 5/10 (Average)
I mean, what charathers? Let's be honest, the characters are not that great, but aren't bad iether in overall. It's just a big shame the show focus the most on Shinji Ikari; where Hideaki Anno really wants to self-insert himself with. Design wise Shinji Ikari kept reminding me with Tenchi from Tenchi Muyou! Ryououki (1992), the treu harem master of the '90's that was somewhat unsure of himself, but eventually he got his act together aswell. In Shinji Ikari's case, well... He lacks individuality, charisma, presence, personality or a will and is not really a suitable main face of the entire show. While I totally can understand his situation he got himself into, but the overdramatic touch really is a big turn-off. Then we have Asuka Langley Sohryu that is your standard tsundere charather that I have seen in previous older shows aswell, but if I'm honest she's a mixed bag of annoyance and cute, but is also an understandable charather if we finally delve into her own mental struggles due her past. I sort of can relate with her aswell in some extent. I often struggle with impulsive emotions aswell, but I learned over the years just of not letting those go. Rei Ayanami on the otherhand, well, atleast Rei spawned a lot of knock-offs in other anime series. My personal favorite of the whole Evangelion anime is still Rei Ayanami. It's just a shame she gets treated as a disposible charather even she's the one with the most empathy towards Shinji Ikari. Atleast I can agree with a lot of fans that Rei is pretty much the best charather of the series. I pretty much fall into the whole kuudere archetype myself and I really like these charathers because I can relate to them the most nowadays. I also like Misato Katsuragi, a woman that also has a lot of things going and I kinda wished she was the main charather instead. She's bad ass, but she also has her own struggles with her own inner demons. The show has many other charathers, but most of them are just set as a certain role for the show and pretty much don't matter at all, which is kind of a bummer. Atleast the pinguin Pen Pen had some cute moments. I really wished the other charathers were more fleshed out which is not unfortunately the case.
Enjoyment: 3/10 (Poor)
So, we're finally here why I exactly didn't liked Neon Genesis Evangelion like your average watcher would and it's more like a personal reason really. This anime is not about robots, aliens and what not. It's about the struggles with the loss of a father figure. Atleast that's my own assumption. I only come up with this conclusion because I've been through that myself while growing up. To keep it short: I was 11 years old when my paranets divorced, my dad abandoned me and I lost my father figure at an age when I was close to puberty. Years did go by and my mom dies unfortunately and I'm forced back to live with my dad because I had no choice to keep it short. That's in my point of view the struggles of Shinji Ikari - something I wanted to avoid mentioning untill now. The real treu villain of this anime is Shinji Ikari's dad Gendo Ikari. He exploits his son in forcing him to get inside the robot, even when he probably understands he's a terrible father figure. It's one of the reasons why I can't really hate on Shinji Ikari because I've been there myself; loosing my own mother due death and loosing my entire father figure as a whole while growing up from a kid into adulthood and not knowing how to go further in life while being dissapointed in your dad because he doesn't really cares about you. The whole anime setting about aliens and what not is just there as a huge distraction. There's to much distraction going on to broadcast the real message this anime is trying to tell you and I honesty don't like it. Being raised by single parenthood really does damage your child more than you'll ever could imagne. The problem I have with this is that single parenthood is becoming way to common these days worldwide. People really don't think ahead about the future with their selfish actions anymore. Divorces are also skyrocketing worldwide. I know I'll never get married or never want to procreate with a woman because I know that child will have less of a future than I have. I don't want to force my own kid into wageslavery (aka. to get inside the robot even when you don't want to) and become nothing more but a replaceable puppet to keep the corrupt Capitalism x Socialism system going. You're a smart person when you can learn from your own mistakes, but you're genius when you also can learn from someone else their mistakes. I know the mistakes my parents did in the past and I'll try my best in not making those mistakes ever in my own life for the time I have left on this planet. Even I'm aware I'm just nothing but a bipedal primate, but atleast I know my own limits and possibillities if I keep on refusing to follow the herd like a blind sheep. We live in a society. Bottom text.

In an overall conclusion; I honesty didn't liked this anime. The negatieves really outweigh the positieve aspects of this anime in my point of view. Am I going to watch it's movie "sequal" Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion (1997)? Absolutely! Especially since the whole story is not finished at all because of apparanetly budget isseus. But I do have already low expectations, because I know it's going to be a sequal from post-modernist crap. Who knows I might like that movie sequal a bit better as an entry now I finally have my own train of thought out of the way, but I highly doubt it. Am I going to to watch it's movie remakes that only were/are being made to milk out money without all the bad decicions Hideaki Anno made in the orginal series? I don't think I'm willing enough into getting into these entries to be honest. Why would I bother in watching a retelling of the same story just with apparantly less drama in it because of bad decisions? I've seen now the orgininal story. Atleast most of it for now. I understand the main purpose of existence of those remake movies. Do I rececommend this anime to others? Heh, that's up to you to decide. But I hope you can understand now why I give this anime an overall score of 4 out of 10 just because I can.

To think Ayane-chan High Kick should have been a complete series, but the producers behind this didn't had the money to contineu this series or just didn't knew how to handle money and/or there was no intrest aswell. Kinda of a shame for being their first debut as a studio. Apparantly it was intented to have six episodes. Meet Ayane Mitsui, a redhead high school girl that wants to be a pro wrestler, but got tricked into the world of kickboxing. That's the story. I know the two sports don't really match each other, but I think I can understand the message they were trying to tell here with this story. It's all about the journey how you want to achieve your goals. To bad we'll never know if Ayane would have succeeded her goal.
Art: 6/10 (Fine)
Ayane High Kick's animation looks if you compair it with modern anime a bit dated, but hey, it's from 1997. It's about the same age when Pokémon (1997) came out in Japan as an anime, so I wouldn't make a fuss that much for it's animation. It's pretty OK. I've seen much worse animation, so no real complaints on the animation part aswell. Sure, I've spotted here and there some animation errors, but hey, I won't bitch and moan about that.
Sound: 6/10 (Fine)
Ayane is voiced by Yuko Miyamura, the person that also voiced the quite famous 14 year old Asuka Langley Souryuu from the Evangelion series. That combined with pretty alright background music that really kind of gives the vibes of the 90's together with decent voice acting from the other and sound effect typical for the '90's, I really can't complain sound-wise. Maybe I could make make a comment that the assigned intro song for this anime should have been "Fight For Yourself" by The Street Beats, which is a Jpop song that I actually don't really like, but hey, music taste does vary aswell.
Charather: 5/10 (Average)
It's kind of a sad thing thing I really can't judge with only two episodes that ever made for this series if I want to talk about it's charathers. You really need more episodes to see the charathers more fleshed out to be honest, even for an anime that was intented to be aired on television. That's why I go the average route if I want to rate the charathers.
Enjoyement: 7/10 (Good)
I actually felt bummed out the two episodes were over already. I honesty wanted more. I sort of want to know if Ayane would have succeeded her dream to become a pro wrestler even after she went the kickboxing route. Let's assume she did. I honesty would recommend this short anime. It's only two episodes long that could get completed within the hour. I think this short cancelled anime is a good example that the lack of funding and/or intrest totally can destroy a potentional good series forever.

Do you want to feel nostalgic how bad ecchi anime can be but you're not motivated enough to see a full cour ecchi anime series and just want to watch a single episode of something lewd? Don't worry, papa Timz0r-senpai got you covered. How about watching the single episode OVA advertisement 'Asa Made Jugyou Chu!' or in English called 'See Me After Class' that came out Spring 2012 that apparantly came bundled in a special edition of the third volume?
Story: 2/10 (Horrible)
What story? With a single episode there's not much story to work around, but apparantly it's about a young boy that gets mistaken by

a female because of his name or something like that and in preventing that he get's expelled somehow, he gets taken care of a clumsy teacher with big oppai because why not? It's not like I have seen this kind of setting before or anything. I wish I had a teacher like that that took care of me like that. Oh did I say that out loud? Sumimasen... Anyway, that's apparantly the plot about this anime and it's basicly the retelling of the first four chapters of the manga crammed into a half hour of anime. If you really feel the need the cram four chapters into a half hour of anime, chances are very high it would turn out as very bad to serve as an adapation.
Art: 4/10 (Bad)
If you haven't heard of Studio GoHands Inc. before, don't feel bad because it's not really a well known anime studio. Apparantly their most well known works is the anime series 'K', a series called 'Seitokai Yakuindomo' and the studio behind the adapation of the 'Mardock Scramble' series which I all three that I've mentioned haven't seen before. But it was quite obvious for me there was not much budget invested or people were not motivated enough to produce this single episode OVA which is kinda a bummer.
Sound: 5/10 (Average)
Voice acting as done OK'ish I guess. I really can't judge that hard based on a single episode. The sound effects were OK aswell. Nothing spectacular.
Charather: 3/10 (Very Bad)
The charathers are pretty forgettable if you ask me. First of all we have the naive & clumsy teacker Ayana Kakinozaka and she's as standard as you can get what to expect from an ecchi teacher. Then you have Yuuki Kagami, despite his name is actually a boy and needs to do several things by his big chested clumsy teacher in order to prevent to get expelled. During this short OVA we also get introduced to Yuuki's classmate named Risa Takabane. Pretty standard charathers if you tell me. Nothing really to write big about. It's really nothing worth to exaggerate.
Enjoyment: 5/10 (Average)
I'd be lying if I somehow didn't managed to get atleast one chuckle out if this and if I may be honest and that doesn't happen often. It's a fan service gold mine in here if you like some lewdness. If I could give points for lewdness I would give a straith 10 out of 10, no joke. Noosebleeds ensured. Especially if you like big anime oppai! \(^Ｏ^)/ *Boing boing boing!* \(^Ｏ^)/

In overall I still have to be critical enough to take note this single OVA episode obviously screams just as a advertisement to read the 4 volume manga. That combined with the clear signs there was not really much budget spend or not much motivation by the animators to produce this anime it kinda falls flat. It's really a bit of a shame there's no other episodes made for this. It would justify the message a bit better that they are trying to tell and sell us. It would lure new potential manga readers better if you ask me, but hey. No, I haven't read the manga myself. I'm not really a manga reader, but who knows if I ever would read the manga somewhere in the future. Never say never. I also said to myself one day in the past to myself I'd never watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure or watch idol anime and guess what happend?
Would I recommend this OVA? Eh, personanlly I would say "not really" as a final verdict, but at the end of the day it's still up to you if you would watch this or not. Now if I recall about what I've just seen so far; something really does tell me I've seen this OVA before somewhere in the past but I can't pinpoint when exactly I've seen this single episode OVA before.

Is that a 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya' reference?
Back in 2007 when Lucky☆Star started to air in Japan, I would not like this anime. Back then in 2007 I had other things on my head rather than talk about anime and consume Japanese animation for entertainment. But now in 2019; about twelve years later I finally got around to this show. Yes, I did liked it.

It does help if you have seen atleast 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya' because that anime get's pretty much referenced. As you probably know, the previous work from Kyoto Animation was 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya'.
Art: 7/10 (Good)
To be fair, animation-wise you would say this would not be acceptable coming from Kyoto Animation, but they are only trying to stay loyal to the main source. It's a parody anime, so you don't have to take it seriously. That also counts for the animation. The younger me would not find this good. Now I'm older, wiser and have more expierence in anime, I'd say they did well.
Sound: 8/10 (Very Good)
Soundwise the staff behind this anime also nailed it. First off all the opening song "Motteke! Sailor Fuku". It's so catchy even it's pretty much a bunch of gibberish! Many people say they mishear the openinglines within the opening song "I buy sausage." while I don't really hear it at all. Oh well. Atleast I loved the voice acting of several voice actors in this anime. Some voice actors really outdid themselves to be My Darlin' Darlin' Freeze! \o/
Character: 9/10 (Great)
First of all we have the Hiiragi twins, Tsukasa and Kagami. While Tsukasa is the innocent younger sister from the two, she still counts on her slighty older twin tsundere sister Kagami. Then we have cute well mannered Miyuki Takara. She got treated by the moe archtype. Last but not least; we have Konata Izumi, the lazy otaku and pretty much the most populair character of this show.
Enjoyment: 8/10 (Very Good)
As I previous already said; I really did enjoy this show. When this anime ended, I kinda felt a small void, because I really felt a lot of warmth and joy while watching this. It really does show you can enjoy an anime even if you would have hated it about 12 years ago. Even with that certain scene with Konata and her dad taking pictures of each other I was nearly on the verge of crying because of a personal family isseu.
Overall: 8/10 (Very Good)
With filled full of references of anime and games, the obvious tone you don't have to take this anime seriously while being a slice of life anime, I would like to give this anime a wel earned 8 out of 10.

Karyuudo Fansubs delivered us in may 2019 something that all Transformer: Beast Wars fans around the world would appreciate; mainly the final chapter of the Japanese spin-off of the Transformers Beast Era: Beast Wars Neo series that aired in Japan. Now this is a sequal of the anime series Beast Wars II, so if you haven't seen that one, chances are you're better of watch that one first before you start this one just in case to prevent confusion. Story: 7/10 (Good)
After the events of Beast Wars II with the dissapearance of the troops of Lio Convoy, many eons(?) later, Big Convoy gets assigned new crew members as Maximals (Cybertrons) to collect the Angelmois energy capsules scattered around the universe. This won't be an easy tast, since Magmatron's troops that are the new Predacons (Destrons) have their own purposes in collecting the Angelmois energy capsules.
Caution: This anime relies a bit more on it's parent story named "Tatakae! Chou Robot Seimeitai Transformers" then the previous season Beast Wars II. But I assume if you're a Beast Wars fan, you would probbably already know that the Beast Era story line is just a side story from the original Transformers line.
Art: 7/10 (Good)
For a show that aired in 1999 the art is pretty decent to say the least. You could say nowadays it's a bit outdated, but for a 1999 show I think it still passes. Compaired with the previous season Beast Wars II and the spin-off movie, I can say animation wise it's a much better improvement for sure. Transformation scenes aren't that re-used anymore compaired with previous installments and you will see some alternatieve transformation footage through the series which is a huge step-up compaired with Beast Wars II. Really, I don't have much complaints at all.
Sound: 6/10 (Fine)
Sound wise not much is improved compaired with the previous season and side story movie, but it still get's the job done. It's just a bit of a shame the intro song and the ending song doesn't get changed over the 35 episodes (32 episodes and 3 clip-shows) for this series.
Character: 6/10 (Fine)
Compaired with the previous season, I personally find it a slighty downgrade compaired with Beast Wars II. Let me hear me out. I liked the charathers in Beast Wars II slighty better than the charathers in this anime. For example: I find the Maximals Stampy and Break personallity wise they are almost equal with each other and I'm not a big fan of Heinrad iether. From all the charathers; I find the Predacons has the most interessing charathers for sure. I do like the Predacons named Dead End and Sling the most. Oh and our cute tsundere D-Navi that aids the Predacons.
Here's a small summery of the main charathers in the show:
Maximals:
* Big Convoy: The leader of the Maximals. Can transform into a woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius)
* Longrack: The most serious one of the bunch. Can transform into a giraffe.
* Colada: Rather wants to work alone. Prefers hot envoirements. Can transform into a cobra.
* Stampy: A bit of coward compaired with other Maximals. Can transform into a rabbit.
* Break: Looses it's patience very fast. Prefers cold envoirements. Can transform into an emperor pinguin.
* Heinrad: He's the mellow one of the group and the most Japanese cultured of the group. Can transform into a tanuki (Japanese folklore creature).
* Navi-chan: a talking computer that aids the Maximals in finding the Angelmois energy capsules scattered around the universes.
Predacons:
* Magmatron: The leader of the Predacons. Is a combiner Transformer between three differnt Mesozoic reptiles.
* Guiledart: The right hand of Magmatron. Can transform into a Triceratops.
* Saberback: Often mocks Sling. Can transform into a Stegosaurus.
* Sling: Often gets used for comedic purposes. Can transform into a Dimetrodon.
* Dead End: Doesn't like team work. Can transform into an ammonite.
* D-Navi: a talking computer similair like Navi-chan, but she's a bit of a cute tsundere and her design is differnt.
Other charathers gets introduced trough the series aswell just like previous entries.
Enjoyment 8/10
Did I enjoy this anime afterall? Yes I did. I'm very glad I could finally completed the final missing piece of the Beast Era. I personally preffer this story line than the bullshit story we have gotten with Beast Machines here in the West. It just makes much more sense. Yes, I'd like to pretend Beast Machines never happend. Even today.
Overall: 7/10 (Good)
If you're a Beast Wars fan you would enjoy this piece of content for sure. Even with it's obvious flaws, I think it did a much better job than *shudders* the Beast Era ending we have gotten in the west with Beast Machines.
