Okay. I'll just say it. My favorite thing in Owari no Seraph was Shinoa. She was what kept me watching this show.
For the sake of easy reading, I'll try to make things simple:
Story - Post-apocalyptic setting, vampires vs. humans, a story of human resistance against more powerful vampires.
Art - Okay, watchable. The animation was generally fine, but still not top-notch.
Sound - Sound? What sound? Nothing too outstanding here. Just normal sounds and music. It neither bothered nor impressed me.
Character - We have the MC+kids using some demonic weapons to fight vampires. There are some character bonding and developing moments, but not enough. One can

still feel difficult trying to concentrate getting into the relationships of the MC+others.
We still have another cour coming in the future, so the developments are not finished, but I still feel there are too many secrets in the show that prevent viewers to fully sympathize with the characters.
One good point here is Shinoa, my favorite character in the show. She's cute, cheeky, she's got nice purple hair, half-shut eyes, quirky personality. With the MC being quite a generic character, I feel that Shinoa is the the main personality that drives the show. She is cheeky and clever, and is real fun to watch her interact with others, usually outwitting them. Shinoa is also serious when needed (she's the leader of her unit after all), and funny just when the audience is thirsty for something refreshing when watching a drawn-out episode.
Moreover, Hayami Saori's acting here was something new for me when compared to her previous voices. It wasn't her usual dead-pan, serious character, but something more subtly and condescendingly bouncy and cheerful. Anyways, it was quite refreshing to the ear, and was a treat to watch.
Enjoyment - Okay. I don't know whether I completely enjoyed watching this. However, I enjoyed it to an extent - to the extent where I felt that this was a show I could watch without being too tense about the general story and flow of things.
Overall - Yep. Quite average so far. I think you can watch this in a rather relaxed manner. This show was nothing too creative to begin with, and everything is straight forward so far. Therefore, if you have some spare time, I think you should go watch this before the second cour comes out --- or just watch for Shinoa's sake.....
Honestly, I don't think it is fair to mark the show with a permanent grade, because it is technically not finished yet. However, for me, a good show. whether or not it has a second cour coming soon, always has good character+story developments and closure. On these aspects, I believe Owari no Seraph's first cour ended without having fulfilling them.

Umm...let me be honest here. I started watching High School DxD series because of the things it was good at: adequately mixing its overt fan-service with little bit of plot and good comedy. For me, if an anime is completely made of fan-service, it is not usually worth investing one's time. However, High School DxD is different in that it cleverly uses fan-service, not as a gratuitous method to attract viewers, but as an integral part of the entire story, which fits seamlessly in the big flow of things. Also, the comedy involving fan-service is a giant plus in watching this show.
But this third season
...
High School DxD BorN sadly decided to cut down its use of its forte: the harmonious blend of boobs+comedy+the general flow of things. Instead it decides to focus more on the complex affairs of politics in the world of devils, dragons, Nordic gods, etc --- making the show feeling rather heavy and somber overall. So, in this season, we rarely see Issei and friends in the real world and school life, but in other dimensions fighting gods and dragons.
I know, we can't always have school life and fan-service, because the affairs of the underworld and fighting gods is what differentiates this show from others. Otherwise, High School DxD would be just one of those slice of life harem fan service shows that are too common out there.
However, like I said earlier, I got into this series because of the good use of fan service+comedy and the warm and often light-hearted atmosphere. Here, I really misses the old times. I haven't read the original source material, but it was rather tiring to watch characters fighting and raging episode after episode. I gladly welcome those political stories for the sake of the plot, but too much of it might make High School DxD lose its identity.
I think - like Issei - many viewers crave some Oppai when they are watching High School DxD. I am not saying the show was bad, but it was just too repetitively gloomy and heavy at times.
Not everyone might agree, but that is my frank opinion of this third season.

When you're in the world of anime and manga, there are these popular and trending materials that are too long and big to take up and follow. No matter how hard you try to ignore these trends, they keep popping up, and it almost feels like it is impossible to stay up to date in the anime world without watching/reading them. At least for me, not staying up to date is like being dead in this world of anime.
JoJo was one of these trending things, and I tried real hard to ignore it, because getting myself in the JoJo world would only fatten up
...
my backlog. However, then back in 2012, I heard JoJo manga (which is quite old) is getting animated, and thought this was a good chance for me to get myself into the series.
May be I was crazy or something, but I thought at that time, it would be better for me to finish the manga before I watch the anime. This doesn't mean you have to do the same thing and read the entire manga before watching the show! I mean, I loved the manga, but it's really your choice, because the anime has done an excellent job faithfully adapting the source material.
The entire JoJo show is 26+48 episodes. I know it is a daunting task to watch all that, but the show is a fun-ride that is fast and satisfying.
My point it that JoJo is quite an old franchise, which is still very popular in modern times, so if you want to stop wondering what all the JoJo hype is all about, this fun show is an excellent starting point. I recommend you start watching this now if you are interested, because sequels might come flying in soon in the future (meaning your backlog will only get greater....yuck)
So, if you are looking for:
Meticulously animated fun, swift, merciless, cathartic actions
Silly, over-the-top but clever thrills
Character interactions grotesquely fun
Ridiculously Faithful adaptation of the source material
Shows without silly unnecessary soap opera-esque romances and fillers
Manly Men full of manliness
and/or if you are just curious what all this JoJo is about...
This show is for you.
(so if you decide to watch this, be sure to start from Parts 1 and 2 from 2012~)
