Shield hero is Isekai which differs from classical Isekai, or is it? Well it used to be... When I first came across the first season, Shiled Hero surprised me as my expectations were classical cliché show. However story was well executed with a solid tempo, interesting charaters, plot twists and fun fights. All these things cannot be said about third season at all. Thing that latest season does
well is sloping into mediocrity. My boredom was that high, that I occasionally couldn’t even keep my attention from disturbing
elements like phone, dog or scratching my ass. This happens to me very rarely as I
...
always try tu fully focus, but my interest was
as low as child workforce costs in China throughout majority of the show.
STORY:5/10
Actually first 3 episodes started promising. Plot makes sense with clear purpose and solid tempo which even builds some anticipation. This doesn’t last long as plot starts to focus on gathering of rest of the heroes, which is exact moment where my enjoyment went down with each episode like Charlie Sheen’s acting career after his HIV confession. Whole story revolves around the fact, that all other heroes are stupid, brainless, useless piece of crap. Why are they even here? All of the side heroes were overpowered by side characters from Isekai world. Wouldn’t it be easier to make them fight instead of heroes which are basically exact opposite of this word meaning?
Mid part of the show completely loses it’s tempo. After joining of the hero of the sword show slips into cliché Isekai narrative which you’ve already seen many times in different animes. There are interactions like obtaining a new monster companion, fighting dragon AGAIN, predictable outcomes or over and over interactions around cooking which are most of the times almost meaningles.
Last episodes are better in terms of pacing and atmosphere, but I just cannot emphatize with bow hero. In consenquence of lacking in quality of his character there was little interest in whole story as a piece from my side. More so there was clear outcome of his
redemption, because they need him in the future and cannot basically hurt him. This resolves in redemption and rescue of the character who doesn’t even deserves it, but it must be done. It’s clear how it ends which destroys any anticipation and intension.
To sum it up MOST of the plot is static, rushed and predictable. Story drags on as a toddler's snot, even looses it’s weight or doesn’t make that much sense thanks to excessive naivety of the heroes. Also situations in which heroes find themselves are very similar
and almost feels repetetive. Last episode was little bit of an redemption which was practicaly a little prequel of next season which seemed much more interesting then whole 3rd season plot. After finishing season three you feel like nothing major happens
and story pass by without any development.
CHARACTERS:5/10
Most of the new characters are bland, boring or generic. Only characters with some pontentional are Atla and maybe Sadina. To be fair Sadina is also nothing special, but at least serves as some funny addition. Other kid characters from the village which names I don’t even remember are just here doing nothing interesting. Then we have generic Kuudere, blonde tanned skinned gal chick or demo version of Charizard. It’s obvious that not all of the characters can be innovative and top-notch, but when there’s introduction of quite a few of new characters I would expect at least half of them to be above average.
Main characters are basically same at the end of the season as they were in the first episode, so expect no major character development. This is probably okay as plot is not focusing as much on them, but more like on other heroes. Speaking of heroes there comes some issues. There are boundaries on how thickheaded and gullible person can be. Well not in case of our STAR TRIO which decided to believe someone which is the least trustworthy person not in this show, but maybe in whole Isekai genre. Thing is they knew what kind of person she is and yet... This wasn’t credible at all and fact that they even want me to emphatize with those idiots by showing me few flashbacks of their past, please don’t it doesn’t matter. Your past doen’t apologize your current stupid decissions.
Melty is character which deserves few sentences separately. Obviously she is a bitch and one of the most hated characters which makes her very well scripted. It’s a pitty that two major interactions of hers are of the same mintage. As was said the credibility of two heroes faling for her promises and even for her as a person after seeing what she’s done to Motoyasu or Naofumi and her trial is at very last low. Character of her qualities either hated or not should be used more meaningfully or interestingly.
Rest of the characters are allright. Main one which comes to my mind is Queen which has my sympathies as a good character surrounded by idiots except of her daughter.
ART:6/10
New artwork looks alright on the other hand it’s nothing mind-blowing. The plus is that this seasons art is a lot better then second and fits the Shiel Hero world well, but not like second season sets a high bar in these terms... On the other hand there are Isekai shows which looks much better in compare like Mushoku Tensei, Eminence in the Shadow, Konosuba etc. In terms of artwork static animations looked very promising just as rendering of the nature and surroundings. Whenever it’s classic animation all looks solid, but some movement kinda seems slopy. CGI of the Gaelion was awfull especially when he takes off and fly, it looked like from some first season of an B tier anime.
SOUND:8,5/10
Opening is very enjoyable song which gets you hyped up for the episode (all the more disappointed you can be later). Ending song of the show is exact opposite as it slow things down, but it’s also nice to listen if it’s style suits you. Sound effects are actually pretty good and fiting. Music throughout the anime also passable.
ENJOYMENT:4/10
Probably because of my wide range of viewed Iseaki I just couldn’t hit the note of this season. It started quite well, but as the show progress I found myself bored, irritated by some stupidities and recognized a lot of generic aspects of Isekai genre.
OVERALL:5/10
This season is best to watch in situations when you came back from work, school or just had a busy day and you want to switch off while watching anime without serious topic or drama. Moreso you will be able to do another activity while watching and despite this
catch everything during each episode and finding that nothing major happend since it started and you’re 15 minutes through. That’s basically description of the plot for most of the episodes. Season three is deffinitely a step for the better in compare to last one, but
still a lot worse then the first one. Lot of things could be done more originally or overall better. Do I think it’s a bad show? Honestly not, but it has nothing spectacular to offer. Consequently big portion of the audience forget it exist till 4th season will be announced.
Let’s hope that fourth season will be even better than average!

After watching ItaKiss my conclusion was, that classical shoujo anime isn’t necessarily my cup of tea. Still I’m gonna try to be as
much transparent as it’s possible and it would be a lie to tell, that I disliked show overall. Some elements were annoying or disruptive which quite meessed up my point of view. There were repetetive aspects which were used often in terms of character traits and relationships as such. Fortunatelly final part of the anime and it’s last episodes saved show in my opinion and I found them most enjoyable. ItaKiss is basically cliché shoujo romance with solid execution which is easy
...
to love or hate, that’s why audience
opinions are so diversed. I’m little bit more on that positive note, although my preferation are other demographics for sure.
STORY:7/10
Setting of the story changes as our main protagonists growing. This idea was more enjoyable than only one cliché setting like high school throughout the show. Narrative tends to be repetetive with some girl misstreating, some conflict which resolves to jealousy
or sadness and then resolution in the end of the episode or episode right after. Usually it doesn’t take longer then 2 episodes to solve the conflict. Still it was solidly executed so that repetetivenes didn’t bothered me at all. There was little bit much of a love triangle
and unrequited love to my taste which doesn’t help originality of the plot. Almost all of the main relationships or crushes started from some kind of one-sided obsession (Kotoko x Irie, Christine x Kin, Keita x Kotoko, Yuuko x Irie, Yuuko x Sudou), this also felt worn at some point. Connections seems artifical and forceful at the beggining thanks to that. Pacing is all right as show can effectively switch between humorous and more dramatic moments, interactions well connected, storytelling makes sense. Next, I will divide each setting and call them "arc".
High school Arc (episodes 1-7) - This is the part which is most annoying and it’s also part where most of the people drops the show. Honestly, I cannot blame them because the start is really hard to endure if you’re not hardcore shoujo fan. Whole plot revolves around Kotoko and her one-sided pursuit of a boy who doesn’t even deserves it which is not credible. There are two main love triangles which were never even an option because of either Kotoko’s obssesive or Irie’s cold personality. You can predict almost everything what is going to happen. Thing is it’s hard to warm up to the show thanks to way it establishes main romance and it’s annoying main characters, you need to fully commit to it. There isn’t almost any evolve in their relationship if you won’t count one kiss as some major part of it which felt extremely random and spontaneous. Still there are a lot of fun interactions between Kotoko and Irie family or Kotoko’s friends.
University Arc (episodes 8-19) - This part should be most major in terms of relationship development. There are few hints of Naoki starting to feel something to Kotoko as well, tho all that harsh treating continues. This is thanks to Kotoko’s perseverance which escalated either in saving Yuuki, helping Naoki finding his goals, gaining Naoki’s trust and overall getting closer to him step by step. Kin-chan marriage proposal played major role as well, as it forced Naoki to finally act and confess to Kotoko in his own bizzare way as usual. His behaviour toward Kotoko during arranged marriage meetings with Chris were awful and I liked that he finally mans up and "took his balls to his hand". Second part preserves it’s humour with all that side interactions mainly thanks to Irie’s mom which is main powerhouse of the humour alongside with Kotoko.
Workplace arc (episodes 20-24) - Easily most enjoyable of all of them. Every relationship and love "triangle" was already solved and plot mainly focuses on strugles of main couple. Last 6 episodes felt more like slice-of-life than shoujo romance. Hospital workplace was great choice and fits perfectly to show. It adds some spice and drama to the story as illnes of Yuuko, comeback of Nobuhiro or random case of 5 year old boy. Couple is dealing with everyday marital struggles like combining of love life and work, pregnancy, child raising, interactions with friends etc. It would be great to have more episodes of anime as this without all that love quarles and triangles in one same way.
CHARACTERS: 6/10
Main characters are major flaw in ItaKiss.
Kotko is main heroine of ItaKiss. Most of the humour stands on Kotoko’s clumsiness which doesn’t need to be enjoyable if you don’t like to laugh at someone who is pretty much useless, I don’t mind. On the other hand she is devoted, kind, hard working and cute.
Girl which is definition of word beta and low-key masochistic is probably a good match for Irie manipulativ and cold personality.
This kind of relationship couldn’t work in real world, but we are talking about show where girl who is despised for no aparent reason manages to pursuit guy for 5-6 years. Her character grows a little in the end as she gets more assertive and confident, but her clumsiness with her dimwittedness remains. Kotoko is not an character to be taken too seriously and it’s not even possible to do so. Still her role is fulfilled on point, but I wouldn’t dare to say she is of good quality.
Irie Naoki is main hero of ItaKiss. He has cold rather even cruel personality which comes hand in hand with his rationality and intellect. In consequence of this he tends to put himself higher on pedestal and look down on other people which are not smart enough.
As story progress this behaviour of his will ease a bit, but it’s still there. His harsh acting in front of others comes out of his extraordinary intellect as well as he has problems to connect with people and find himself or his ambitions. This argument doesn’t apologize his actions, but it is understandable where it’s coming from. Still his character traits were over the line and it would be much more credible if authors take off the gas and made his traits not so extreme with changes in his character more distinct.
People often tends to say that Irie didn’t grow as a character, but I don’t think it’s true. Audience can capture changes and development mainly in last few episodes. Irie is still far from being good character, but he opens up much more and don’t treat Kotoko as harshly. Is it something to be praised for, that you don’t treat your wife as an annoying mosquito rather like a normal human now? Well I think not, but some progress is obvious.
Kin-chan is best friend of Kotoko which is his crush. There are multiple speculations how he was a better choice for Kotoko. Honestly I’ve never seen them as an option. He would be only Irie’s replacement and it would make miserable both him and Kotoko. She never cared for him in way lovers should in first place and that resulted in zero chemistry. Anybody can think what they want, but this is one of the most important things in order to relationship working properly except of good traits and match in personalities.
Healthy relationships is standing not only on trust, communication and honesty, but on some kind of intimacy as well. I felt kinda
sorry for Kin-chan especially because of Kotoko which was so vague and indecisive which only hurted him, friendzone is a bitch.
On the other hand Kin is little bit of an hypocrite, because he was mocking Irie that his misstreated Kotoko all day long and in the end he wasn’t much better in terms of treating Chris at the beginning. As story progressed he finally matures a bit and finds himself much better wife than Kotoko would ever be to him. Honestly he wasn’t enjoyable for me as well.
Other side characters were well done especially Irie family. Irie mother was one of the most enjoyable characters and I loved everything about her. Also small interactions between two fathers makes you laugh. There are few romances of side characters which are interesting addition, but as I said they tend to be of similar type coming from obsession and perseverance.
ART: 6/10
Art style is nothing special maybe even average. I liked how authors worked with some outfits, but yeah in terms of charcter faces designs medicore and surroundings are also nothing which would put you down on your ass.
MUSIC: 6/10
Opening was easy-going chill song which fit humorous atmosphere of the show although it doesn’t fit my taste. Ending was similar type of music but instead of male vocalist there was a female vocalist. I’m not sure if it’s singed by voice actors of MCs and I didn’t do my research on it, but it sounds familiar. Voice acting throughout the show is allright.
ENJOYMENT: 7/10
Despite my reservations I was able to enjoy the show to some point and I’m not classical shoujo enjoyer if you look on my statistics. On the other hand I didn’t take it seriously in any moment, because my expectations were quite low from the start. Consequently ItaKiss could only surprise me and it did. Still I’m not gonna watch shoujo of this type for some time, although it’s interesting to see something different from my usual type of anime from time to time.
OVERALL: 7/10
Part of audience which look for "real romance" rather than exaggeration of romance in the form of comedy won’t enjoy it. If you decide to give it a chance and you won’t look for deeper meanings at any cost in this piece, it will reward you with good comedy, unconventional romance, funny side characters and satisfying ending with little "after" story.

Have you ever came across cheap Spanish telenovels? Yeah, this is basically Japanese animated version of one of those.
Never in my years of watching anime I had such a problem to finish any show, not even shows which I rated lower then this creation. What Rumbling Hearts does very well is exaggerating situations in order to make fake drama. This fake drama should evoke emotions in audience at any cost only to be dealt in most stupidest way to make you even more angry, sad or anything. As a result, it establishes totally unrealistic wannabe flawless interactions and is losing it’s credibility. Narrative of show
...
was promising and at first I was really curious about the story, unfortunately execution was so poor mainly in second half, that I even regreted to waste my time on this.
STORY: 2/10
Pacing of the story is standing on cheap dramatic interactions. No doubt it tries to be unique and aim to more matured audience in terms of not being childish, always happy, not having pitiful problems or being shallow yet, I just didn’t believe almost any of it’s situations because it was overplayed just to make it more dramatic. More so stupidity in which story progresses thanks to it’s even more idiotic characters overshadows all these efforts. Setting of the show tries to be perfect which even more degrades it’s crediblity and reality aspect. Story progress relies on artificial flawless conflicts and plots which are often trying to be with perfect outcome, but instead the solution is as much stupid as it can be, mainly thanks to Narumi AGAIN! Finale and "great" story climax is just as dissapointing. Characters which were worst and in the end did not take any responsibility for their terrible decisions are getting the happiest ending. This is unreasonable icing on the cake which make me sure to hate this show.
CHARACTERS: 2/10
Except of Haruka there isn’t single main character which I could relate to or even emphatize with. Rest of the main cast must be accountable and intelligent as your average girl walking in Pattaya Street in 2AM. Their decision making corresponds proportionally to their mental development which is stucked since they reached puberty. Main hero Narumi or should I say disgusting SIMP which cannot make rational decision for himself and in consenquence of that hurts everybody around him. His whole character is so stupid, because only thing he does whole show is pitty himself. This pathetic fool doesn’t even know who he loves or not so he decides to date girl which is crazy in love with him only to toy with her feelings and see outcome, because he doesn’t want to hurt anybody despite the fact that this is exactly what he is doing. This is what kind of person he is. Short after when he finally pull his shit together and confess to Haruka it doesn’t even feel real, because it looks like he is doing so because it’s expected of him and not from his own desire, FAKE.
When Haruka falls into coma he’s having a hard time, but what about her parents, sister, they having even more hard times yet they aren’t acting like spoiled hurted child. I was heartbroken from love, lost my brother and father all in 2 years time period and seeing him acting like that was so annoying and unrealistic "thanks" to my previous painful experiences. All he should do in lot of the situations was communication. Do I think he is the worst character? No, no, no there is even worst piece of crap and not one.
Let’s talk about Mitsuki and Shinji. Mitsuki should be rated between top 20 worst female charaters in romance anime. Let me tell you why... She slept with her best friend boyfriend even if it was on purpose to "save him" while her best friend is in coma. Sleeping with someone is not only way to help hurted person. Do you see where am I going? She made it completely from her own selfish desires.
She basically seduced him in his weakest state, although she could help him as friend. Authors probably thinking that only thing your friend of opposite sex can do to help you is sleep with you. Later after Haruka’s waking from coma she becomes jealous and lonely so first thing she does is going after first man she encounters to sleep with him while being in relationship. This part is actually similar to situations which happens in real life, because hoes often apologize they’re cheating with loneliness. Then she has that audacity to tell the MC not to blame her or Shinji? STFU it’s mostly your decision and your fault. Ofcourse there are always two sides of coin and Narumi bears part of the blame, but that doesn’t apologize your cheating! Mitsuki is manipulativ, self centered, selfish, evil character which is one of the main drawbacks of this show.
Now worst character of all is MCs "best" "friend" Shinji. When Mitsuki doesn’t get the opportunity to throw herself on random guy she jumps on her boyfriend best friend and HE doesn’t stops her. Shinji short after encounters Narumi and has the audacity to speak some moral shit on him and even punch him? Bro you are the biggest crap yet you think you did some kind of weird favor, because
his girl didn’t slept with random guy but you? It’s even worse because he wasn’t betrayed by one, but two persons close to him.
Again all you could do is to talk things through with her and be emotional support to Mitsuki as her friend instead of sleeping with
your best friend girl. God, I was so mad at this point that I was thinking about quiting with this crap.
There are some positive characters which I like mainly Haruka and her family which were most credible for me and easy to understand. Especially her sister which has every right to be angry on that blue haired traitor chick. I loved how devoted and supportive she was to her older sister and I found her character development also most interesting after that 3 years time skip. Side characters are allright but nothing to be praised for. Unfortunatelly main characters destroyed whole piece so much for me, that this is only small plus in compare to that cons.
ART: 5/10
Meh, it looks okay I guess considering it’s older anime, but I could name a lot of even older anime which looks much better. Thing which I didn’t like was motion of the characters it looked weird and funny. On the other hand I liked how creators worked with shadowing and colors of the sceneries.
SOUND: 3/10
Not my cup of tea and mostly generic romcom type of stuff.
Enjoyment: 2/10
To be fair I enjoyed first 3-4 episodes where main plot was starting to build and I didn’t know what type of crap is about to come. When characters started to act brainless and plot basically stop making any sense at all, I also started to have serious issue to finish it.
Overall: 2/10
If you are lover of generic drama shows which are downright dramatic without being credible go for it. In fact I cannot understand how anyone can say it relates to the real world, because you must be living in some fucked up reality man. Everything what is happening in this show is exaggerated and pointless with even more stupid outcome, while at the same time having much easier solution. CHEAP DRAMA!!!
There are plenty of much better anime in it’s own genre, so my suggestion is don’t do this to yourself and look for something which won’t lower your IQ.

Gosick is must watch for all mystery and detective genre lovers.
Although Gosick isn’t outright detective story it has a lot of similarities which I appreciated as you average detective stories enjoyer. It’s very rare to find anime which can unite so many aspects and do it in good quality. Do you enjoy romance, mystery, historical setting or maybe comedy? There is plenty of all these elements. Often detective stories rely on one or two main narratives which are repeated on and on for even more like one hundred episodes and you can get bored over time. Thing is Gosick is not your typical detective
...
and this mystery genre helps it a lot. Every "case" is somehow different and you almost expect some supernatural stuff to happen although culmination is always rational. Thanks to this it keeps you expectant and sharp. First of all I love detectives and I’m not trying to disgrace them or anything, but it’s always nice to see some show which is special and emerges from this rather cliché way of execution AND BOY THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT GOSICK DOES!
STORY:9/10
At first it was little bit harder for me to recognize where this story takes place just from watching. Obviously it’s said at the beginning of the show right at first episode, but I just had that impression it looks more like an end of Edwardian era and early 1910s in England than 20s in France and Switzerland. First half of the story feels more like mystery with lot of case solving by our main duo Victorique and Kujou with "help" of Victorique half-brother Grevil. Second half focuses more on drama and main story line which is basically background of Victorique and Kujou and their family circumstances with some struggle for power.
Subplots were all really enjoyable and dynamic although maybe sometimes predictable and easy to solve. If I should choose only one favourite it would be "cursed" ship. Episodes about this micro-scale part of the story had major mystery touch and it was best part in first half of the anime for me. Romance between main characters is wholesome and Victorique can be a little annoying from start, but you will quickly warm up to her as soon as you learn something about her past which will fully allow you to emphatize with our little loli blondie. Their relationship went through biggest progress probably in first half when Victorique started to open up to Kujou (open up in her own meaning) and Kujou was slowly but surely gaining her trust. It doesn’t take long since you are able to observe first sings of her affection to Kujou and that starts rght in first half, yeah and again affection in her own way.
Later parts of second half are exact moments where things starting to fit into each other like puzzle and story is completely shifting on cases and mysteries which are directly connected to the main plot. Storytelling is very detailed and keeps you in some kind of uncertainty to the last moment. Pasts of our main duo are fully revealed which allows the audience to fully understand their motives. It’s revealed that there is big conflict between two major sides which is practicaly ongoing whole time and even long before the arrival of main heroes. You could say it’s conflict between science and occultism or supernatural which is trying to manipulate population. This is directly connected to Victorique family situation and both conflicts are dealt with at the same time.
Last but not least is kinda like World War II part. Dates doesn’t fit at all and I’m not sure if it’s just mistake or if it’s intentional. Otherwise it’s not something important which would make some difference to the show. War and department of Kujou was solid dramatic icing on the cake. Latest two episodes went by really quickly and it felt slightly rushed after watching all these rest of the episodes which were dynamic but not hasty. Final scene is something which I will remember for sometime along with Kujou shouting Victorique!
CHARACTERS:10/10
Forming of the bond of our main charaters is one of the main selling points of this show. Obviously Victorique seems a little toxic from start, but she is Tsundere so that’s nothing unusual and majority of the audience will like her later. She is most complex character which almost everytime tries to act rational and cold in front of others. In fact the opposite is true, because she can be pretty hot-headed and irrational when it comes to the people she cares about most. Her extremely high intelligence causes her to be bored easily as long as she’s not dealing with some case or spending time with Kujou whose is like distraction and toy for her mainly at the beginning. Her character development is by far most radical as she is almost different person in the end of the story. Let me say I usually don’t like tsunderes, but Victorique has a special place in my heart.
Kujou is the lead role of Gosick. Unfortunatelly I didn’t find him much interesting in compare to other characters in Gosick. It’s not like he’s bad, but more likely other characters are that good and mysterious. Kujou is pretty much your average good-hearted Japanesse anime main hero and has every character trait like that. On the other hand it was really easy emphatize with him right from the beggining thanks to simplicity of his character. Still I think his role was fullfiled as a contrast with Victorique.
Honestly there wasn’t almost any side character which would be boring or useless and each of them fits their roles perfectly. Show focuses a lot on explaining the motives, personalities and pasts of major side roles and there are not just some meaningles flashback like some other animes have, but everything has a their own reason. Each of the villains or characters which should represent villain like figure (even though they don’t need to be quite completely) had mysterious almost supernatural touch. Incorporating tricks and "magic" as some character abilities was great choice and it perfectly corresponds with show atmosphere, especially Leviathan whose backstory with queen is breathtaking. There are little bit plainer characters like Cecil and Avril. On the other hand every character cannot be perfect, but they still can do their job and enrich the show. I would definitely point out Grevil which seemed like prick for most of the show, but he managed to redeemed himslef and changed the most after Victorique.
ART:9/10
Art style of characters and action scenes is for sure on more basic note which fits better than flashy and stylish animations ever would. Imagine if Gosick would be made 10 years after by using classic generic animations nowadays! Do you know what happened to Berserk? Yeah, I’m afraid it could be similar situation. Okay, that was a little bit extreme example, but still I prefer older and simple animations lot more in this piece. On the other hand every detail of dressing and interiors of buildings were so precise. Creators must studied fashion a lot before making, because such details takes a lot of skills and knowledge. Interior of buildings and background is almost as detail as dressing mainly library where Victorique spent most of her time. Also cities looks splendind and I loved how creators worked with materials and architecture used in that 1800s era where I guess most these buildings were build like all types of rocks and stuff, it looked really realistic.
SOUND:10/10
Let me say that Gosick first ending is one of my favourite anime songs to this day and I would give this a 10 just for this soundtrack. Luckily it isn’t that case and ending is not only thing to be praised in this category. All openings are great as well with dark and mysterious touch which is great addition to the show. It’s almost half a year since i watched Gosick, but I still remember that I never skiped any of these. Opening got me hyped on each episode as ending got me awaiting the next one. Singer of the ending song reminds me of Amy Lee from Evanescence little bit. Rest of the sounds and music throughout the show are also nice plus to the atmosphere, but not nearly as good as OPs.
ENJOYMENT:9/10
There was not any time of boredom for me. As story progressed I was able to predict some things, but that’s thanks to me being little bit of a nerd and spending quite some time by watching a lot of shows. More shows and movies you watch the more similarities you can find and more things predict. When I randomly started to watch Gosick i did so without expectating anything and even more so surprised I was. Believe me that Gosick authors knows perfectly how to build anticipation of audience which is like main plus for the dynamics of the show. First three episodes are slower and you need to fully commit to the show, but it’s worth the patience.
OVERALL:9/10
There are few pieces which I would put higher on my pedestal and that the is reason of my nine rating, but Gosick is undoubtedly show of a great qualities. Anime combines a wide range of themes, genres and other aspects that work well together which can attract wide range of audience. It’s not only mystery, romance, historical, drama or detective it’s all of it.
Give it a shot!

It’s been a while since I rated some show 10 and I think this is perfect opportunity.
Paris sequel does perfect job in matching pace, depth of the story, character development and overall feeling of first part. It’s always hard when authors make good first series to keep that same quality or even surpass it. I perssonally got high expectations after watching "vanilla" series and my expectations were satisfied.
STORY: 9/10
This time plot revolves more around Chiaki and Nodame relationship as a "lovers". Irony simply because it’s really atypical love relationship and really fun one as well. It doesn’t mean there is no depth in it
...
tho, because they support each other as much as they can and it’s so sweet. Story is kinda slice of life you could say? Except of romance, story show us development in Chiaki’s proffesional career as a conductor and Nodame as a pianist in order to keep up with him. Thing I loved was how narration describes each emotion in each classical song and little bit of backstory. It wasn’t as comprehensive as it was in first part, but it’s still there and you can appreciate it as me average classical music enjoyer. There was little bit of time skips like for example in case of Chiaki which were on tour with Steresmann where he met one of the new side characters pianist Rui. Shame that show didn’t portrayed how they met and Chiaki’s play as substitute conductor, because it felt little bit rushed. Riu is interesting character and deserved more intrudoction.
On the other hand I like pacing and flow of this part more then first one, because story was already established without any flashbacks and Paris arc focused only on the most important sections.
CHARACTERS: 10/10
Let’s put a 10 right here. One of the biggest carriers of this anime are characters of course. I loved especially development of Chiaki which really softens up and opens up to Nodame. Needles to say she is complex personality and difficult to handle as soon as you know her better, but contrast and chemistry between her and Chiaki is awesome. Her ability to work hard and devote herself practically for Chiaki shows how much she cares about him and not only admire him as his lust fangirls. Both of them have their goals pretty much already set so you won’t see as much character development in terms of their ambition growth.
There was little bit of side charaters diversification and some old ones jump into the scene as well. First of all let me say I’m really curious about development between Tatiana and Kuroki. In first she felt shallow, but as story progress I got more into her and just as in case of our main characters, they are complete opposites which is fun to watch. As I said Rui needed little bit of more introduction and screen time in my opinion, because she is diverse character and we don’t know much about her. Hopefully we get more explanation in last part. As far as characters goes there wasn’t single one which I would not enjoy even the toxic concert master was interesting in his own way and in the end even kinda redeemed himslef. Probably I’m in minority but I enjoyed Paris side characters more than in Japan arc.
ART: 8/10
Nothing flashy and special which I liked. Why not to keep it simple? It perfectly fits with that classical music narrative. I loved how animations portrays the beauty of Paris architecture and atmosphere while still keeping it simple especially that part when Megumi and Chiaki were walking together in night Paris. There was more CGI while orchestras were playing and let me say considering year of release, it really isn’t bad and stands its ground. I saw a lot of people pointing on how bad it is and sure you can easily recognize CGI from other animations in this show, because it looks little bit slower and stiff. Still there are newer anime with a lot worse CGI and I liked how lively it feels in compare to usage of subsequent images/drawings. Expressions of characters when they play or conduct perfetly captures their emotions and you can see lot of signature facial expressions of characters.
SOUND/MUSIC: 10/10
Well it’s anime about classical music what more do you need to score high? Also opening is worth to mention as it perfectly fits whole setting. Part with Mozart was expecially enjoying for me as well as last episode of Chiaki’s conducting. Voice acting on point and sound througout the anime is perfect addition to the atmosphere.
ENJOYMENT: 10/10
I mannaged to finish this piece in one Sunday evening only with one toilet pause. It pulled me into the story just as easily as first part if not more. There wasn’t moment of boredom or major dissatisfaction. Nodame Cantabile evokes almost every emotion in you which good anime should and always makes you await what is gonna be next. It made me eager about last part and it’s resolution.
OVERALL: 10/10
If something deserves praise it’s this show and it’s pitty that more people doesn’t know about this piece. Or maybe it’s exactly the opposite, because it feels more like a hidden gem. It’s definitely for more mature audience which can appreciate all these aspects and I doubt I would enjoyed it as much in my adolescence.

Let me say something about this show to you in short, because I don’t think this anime needs longer reviewes.
There isn’t anything outstanding and it’s simply generic harem comedy. Still it has some good moments and aspect you could enjoy. If you enter this series not expecting too much (which would be weird expect too much from harem comedy), you can have some lighthearted "cheaper" comedy which actually works. My favourite part of it was probably Guri and her animations looking like egg with eyes and one hair.
Story is again nothing revolutionary and every problem is solved in the end of the episode except
...
for last 2 episodes which is like the biggest "plot twist". Plot tries to parody Death Note from time to time and there are even few references throughout the show which I liked as a normie fan. Most of the characters were bearable for me and needles to say all of them were somehow extreme. I usually hate when there is MC which is constantly attacked by females or even males from jealousy like it usually is in harem anime, but it was put in a funny way like Akane with her knife so I took it with a grain of salt. If I should pinpoint something I really despised it was MC. If he would be just another generic virgin MC it would not be such a pain in the ass. However on top of that he was even more clueless, useless, dense, dumb, bad around girls and all that other traits of useless harem MC you can think of, but multiply that all by 10! He was such an Homo Erectus he couldn’t even realize when he did something wrong even it was obvious and he was told so.
To sum it up even though there is lot of things wrong and cliché, it can be still nice popcorn fun at the evening. If you gonna watch this just turn off your brain and have fun or simply choose another activity to it.

Do you want to see a sweet romance comedy about "forbidden love", then Onegai teacher is right choice. This show somehow resembels Ah my Goddess in lot of aspects. Main characters are pretty much similar in terms of character traits, in sound, voice acting, animation etc. I enjoyed Ah my Goddess so I went to this show with higher expectations, because I was hoping for same quality.
Well in my opinion it doesn’t match qualities of previously mentioned anime, but I still found it enjoyable in MOST PARTS. There were some cliché things which bothered me like few toxic and generic characters and repetetiveness.
STORY: 7/10
Narrative was
...
pretty interesting and I lliked how they combined Sci-fi elements with romance. Sci-fi was pretty trivial in first 7-8 episodes, but they starting to deal with this sort of stuff more and more later on. It made me wonder how are certain characters connected to each other and what happened to our MC that he suffers from his illness. Space traveling and his Sci-fi kind of illness were interesting choice to make plot different and not just another classical romance story.
Romance between main characters and not just them, but between some side ones was sweet and enjoyable. Development of their relationship blossomed to beautiful love story. On the other hand there was some repetetiveness in my eyes. When they got interrupted before kissing in almost each end of the episode, it started to get annoying pretty fast. On top of that they need to put toxic characters in there like generic younger obssesed sister which is practically Skuld from Oh my Goddess and her only reason to be there is to make you angry. Overall it disrupts slow paced otherwise smooth progress of the plot. Last two episodes were little bit confusing and
you need to fully focus to understand what is going on. I was little bit confused by that jumping in time and memory loss.
Characters: 8/10
Onegai teacher characters except for few exceptions were main strength of this show. I could easily emphatize with most of the characters and understand their actions. Our main duo pulled me into the story easily right in the second episode. MC is little bit dense, shy and won’t step up for himself as for example I would, but otherwise he is kind and likable dude. I really enjoyed FMC caring and dedicated character and also her mother which was funny and great to spice it all up. Show also portrays few of the side romances between MC friends and even between control programs (little dudes) and overall they have nice development and romance as well. I wasn’t really that big of a fan of Koishi, because it was clear that MC wasn’t feeling the same deep affection for her and she still couldn’t get over it. It was also fault of an MC that he didn’t tell her she is not the one ASAP and that caused frequent disrupts in relationship with his wife. Otherwise it was her own fault and result of not being straightforward enough from the beginning.
I think her chances were good if Mizuho never arrived on earth, but if she would even after Koishi and Kei being together I think Kei would fall in love with Mizuho anyways, because it’s completely different kind of chemistry, passion and affection between those two, but that’s just WHAT IF. She never really was a right partner for Kei in my eyes.
Now what I really didn’t enjoy was that small little prick Maho. She was basically Skuld from Ah my Goddess! except the fact, that Skuld at least become somehow bearable and even enjoyable. She is the reason why I cannot give 9 rating of characters to this show, because her only purpose here was to make me feel like I wanna throw my chair into my TV. What was evene more stupid than that is a fact, that they let themselves be "bullied" by a child. Her sister or mother should slap some sense into that prick or at least talk it through. If Mizuho would say to her „Look I don’t care what you think you are my sister and you got no right to talk into my love life, either you can accept it or GTFO and don’t come back". More so she should do as I said after her trying to hurt Kei. Last drop was when she whole time on earth harassed and threaten Kei not to make her sister sad and then proceeds to do something which makes her sister sad... Do you see how much of a stupid hypocrite she is? She little bit redeemed herself before leaving and in the OVA, but I still see her as annoying.
This was probably my only serious issue with this anime and reason of degrading rating.
ART: 7,5/10
If you like classic millennial romance anime you will deffinitely enjoyed it. It was released back in 2002 and it’s not nothing special even on the conditions of that time. Still it evokes that classic deja vu/nostalgic feeling and it’s still pretty good to watch. I liked some scenarios shots which looked really pretty like stargazing scenes, beach and nature as it is.
Sound: 8/10
I wasn’t that big of a fan of ending and opening music it just didn’t match my taste of music. On the other hand I really enjoyed music, sound and voice acting throughout the anime as a piece. There was one song especially in romantic moments which sounded like a beginning of Guts theme which is my favourite anime song of all time. I also like English voice actors and even prefer them in this specific piece.
Enjoyment: 7,5/10
My feelings are somewhere on the edge between I liked it and I liked it a lot. It wasn’t bored even for the moment, but there were few aspects which disrupted my enjoyment as I said.
Overall: 7/10
It’s classic romance anime around 2000s era and it easily arouse emotions of nostalgia in you. It has some faults but I think it serves its purpose on point and you get what you expect. That would be slow paced show with beautiful romance and some easy drama. You can observe blossom of relationships adn struggles of young newlyweds and in addition side characters love life as well. Unfortunately I cannot stand characters like Maho and I didn’t liked that repetetive moments. Otherwise it’s solid show to watch even with your significant other.

„Why did I watched this? Am I some kind of masochist?"
These were my first thoughts after completing this show.
Needless to say that sense of humor and comedy differs to each person. Still when I somehow managed to finish this creation and looked on meta score, I was surprised the most in a while. First of all it’s comeady, so I started to watch this and take it somehow easy expecting to deal with most things by humor and then watch some serious moments in addition. Instead of this I got almost
zero serious moments and humor was same thing over and over. There was
...
so many things I hate like worshiping of a person, bullying, SIMPs, terrible romance and mainly repetitiveness. YES there are literally 2-3 major jokes which are repeated all the time. It’s really not funny to see how is some guy mistreated and despised for no apparent reason at least not for me, it wasn’t funny for the first time, second time and it’s not funny even the 4512th time. I hoped it would be something like Yamada-kun to lvl 999 for example, perfectly mixing and uniting humor with some personal issues and social/mental health dissorders. Instead of this I got generic comedy which is not even funny.
STORY: 2/10
Generic and repetetive simple as that. Another slice of life/romance anime where main characters are "dealing" with their everyday life "problems". You’re asking why that irony? Simply because problems are petty and are often dealt by the most stupidest way just to make that medicore not funny gag humor. Whole story revolves around the fact that girl MC is beautiful and if she wasn’t nobody would pay her any attention, THE END.
It feels like authors are trying to say to you „Doesn’t matter if you are suffer from social dissorder as long as you are pretty", yeah... Each episode has that same narrative of Komi entering the scene and being worship, making friends or spending time with them, some MC misstreating, wannabe romance and going back to main duo, repeat. There were actually few sparkles of hope and moments which I enjoyed a bit, but they were overshadowed by some stupid joke right after.
CHARACTERS: 2/10
There isn’t a single character which I would enjoy from all my heart. All of them are somehow annoying and some almost not bearable. Type of people who would buy Komi onlyfans right after she would make one - her pathetic simps which are praising her like you would praise the sun in Dark Souls. Who knows they would maybe bought her excrements to fill their pillow with it. Komi which character stands on her beauty and overshadowes her dissorders and other traits, because authors need to throw it to your face in every episode. MC which is perfect example of generic romcom MC and has every trait of character like that. Side characters have better development then main characters. I appreciate they want to indicate that some of the side characters are just as important to the story (that means Kaede and Najimi). Don’t get me wrong they weren’t anything special and felt medicore, but at least i didn’t have that intuition to punch something like in case of an MC.
ART: 6/10
There’s not a reason to praise it or neither hate it. If you consider it’s made in 2021 you somehow expect solid animations and art style. Still in it’s own genre and vintage it looks on point. On the other hand there are few which looked better in my eyes like Horimiya, Koikimo, Higehiro, Taisho Otome Fairy Tale etc.
SOUND: 8/10
Best part of the anime in my opinion. OP perfectly fits to this art style and anime overall. Music and sounds throughout the show was nice addition to atmosphere.
ENJOYMENT: 2/10
Although I praised last to aspect little bit, there was still a lot of things which were destroying this show in my eyes. It bothered me to the point where I had serious issues to not drop it. For sure it’s not my type of thing and I’m pretty sure it would be enjoyable for me if authors would choose different approach to the story and main characters. It’s hard to pick a serious theme like social dissorders and mental health which is such a big topic nowdays and turn in into a good comedy. I’m a type of guy which can make fun from almost anything, but I didn’t find this style of humor funny at all. This is my main issue which authors didn’t handle.
OVERALL: 2/10
Despite the fact that I scored two aspect quite high my conscience doesn’t allow me to go higher. Komi is type of anime which you either hate or like and nothing between. If it’s style of humor fits you well, you will have a good time and if not you will probably drop,
because humor is the thing it stands on. Don’t expect real dealing with dissorders and social anxieties or you will be dissapointed.

Okay I understand why this show gets so much hate, but honestly it wasn’t that bad.
This show is in my opinion perfect example of stuff to watch if you want some cheap entertainment. It’s generic, sometimes annoying, predictable and LOUD with clché Japanesse anime style of homour. On the other hand humour knows no bounderies as many of reviewers already said and it worked for me although it was too much "cringy" sometimes. On top of that it looks good, has some enjoyable characters (some not), solid sound effects and if you won’t take it seriously and mainly don’t expect too much you got exactly
...
what I said. It doesn’t mean it’s a good show at all tho. There isn’t anything else except of nice animations and humor which would make this show more enjoyable and these are primary aspects which somehow carries whole anime.
STORY: 2/10
It’s obvious story is not main focus of this piece of "art". You can predict almost each exciting moment like fight, small dramas or another plot. Thing is it doesn’t take itself seriously and I didn’t mind. Even if I roughly knew what will most likely happen I still enjoyed the outcome, because it was well presented. Each problem was solved with humorous outcome and thanks to this it fulfilled that role of comedy on point. Adventurous part of the story was dissapointment, becuase there is not much of a world exploring and adventure as such at all. Story is pretty fast pacing and almost every problem is solved in one or two episodes and you got another right in next episode. This is typical thing for medicore and generic fantasy shows.
CHARACTERS: 5/10
One of the bigger issues for me was main hero. He did not have single enjoyable or interesting character trait. He was just prototype of boring fantasy MC, but even more dumb and dense. Even that style of humor which was applied on his character wasn’t my cup of tea. Other female characters had mostly one thing in common and a that was obssesion with our MC. It was like watching some talkshow with Justin Bieber where he surprises his maniac girl fans. Except of this insanity each girl character had some trait which make her fun (OK Selen is exception). We don’t really need to speak about antagonists, because they are here, but they’re so much forgettable it would be waste of time. Shouma gets almost no screentime to introduce his character and you only know him as brother of MC which turns to evil just like that. Overall characters were mostly fun at that time of watching, but after i get some good sleep tonight I’m not gonna remember a single shit about them.
ART: 8/10
Hurrah, at last another thing you can actually appreciate. Animations looks good and that goes for fights as well. On the other hand it’s from big studio and producers made in year 2021, so nice animations are somehow expected. That doesn’t change the fact it looks stylish and it’s probably the biggest plus.
MUSIC/SOUND: 4/10
Not my type of thing and something which would make me thing about it. OP is like you would pick some cliché isekai song to copier, find some generic singer to sing that crap and put it right there. This is appliable for every single one song in this show and OST was terrible even more. Sound effects throughout the anime were on point unlike that music.
ENJOYMENT: 6/10
If you are reading to this part, maybe you wonder why I wrote it wasn’t so bad and then shit talked so much on this show. Simply because there are undoubtedly lot of thing wrong and I cannot overlook them.
Despite this I had fun and it’s mainly because of it’s humor, ease and almost no expectations from my side. As they say in my home country „if you don’t expect anything you cannot be dissapointed".
Overall: 5/10
For sure not type of thing for anybody. This show is definiton of contradiction so it’s purely subjective. Thanks to this I cannot recommend it to anybody and only to people with "wider" spectrum of sense of humor. It’s solid thing to watch if you look for something easy which doesn’t require a lot of your attention or simply as I said in the beginning if you look for cheap entertainment.

Berserk is definition of art in anime and manga world.
Berserk was my second anime I’ve ever seen right after Naruto. It was long time before I created MAL account and long before I started to watch anime actively. Honestly I watched quite a lot anime since then, but no other evokes such emotions in me like Berserk. It left me with my mouth wide open and with tears in my eyes. I was so "depressed" it ends that I went to order manga right away.
For me personally these anime and manga as a unit are masterpiece so I will not even try to be transparent,
...
because I’m so attached to this story it would be impossible. My attachment to this masterpiece is same as for Lord of the Rings, which is my favourite saga of all time that shaped me from my youth to my adulthood. I still find this anime adaptation one of the best animes to this day.
[Story:10/10]
Well if I should describe story of Berserk in one word, it would be struggle. Main characters and not only them, but whole world is going through so much shit it almost feels like hell. We all know it’s not even close as bad as it will be in the future, but constant battles, corruption, politics and struggle for power, raping, killing of innocents, berayal etc. are terrible enough.
Especially first 20 episodes before all that supernatural stuff feels so real, and it’s not so far away from real medieval mess.
On the other hand struggle is not only thing that Berserk offers. Story is well balanced with moments of friendship, chivalry, joking and last but not least LOVE. Love story between Casca and Guts is one of my favourite romances before all that eclipse shit.
What started like pure hate/jelaous relationship blossomed to comrade/lover relationship. It feels so real, because that realtionship is build slowly through real converstaions, by solving their problems, opening their hearts and it’s not only some crush build from nothing or from one "chivalry" act overtime. Story of Berserk is dark, scary, brutal, unfair but at the same time mysterious, dream like, and it pulls you in very quickly.
Characters:10/10
There is no doubt characters are just as amazing as story. There is great dynamic between main characters of the Band of the Hawk and each character got some role, which they fulfill perfectly. In other words each one of the main character evokes different emotion in you and is driven by one main emotion or feature himself. Let’s look at some examples...
Guts x anger, Griffith x ambition, Judeau x friendliness, Casca - jealousy/obsession, Corkus x rancor, Pippin x calmness... These emotions are delivered on point and you feel exactly the same as any of the characters mentioned throughout the series.
Main focus is obviously on Guts - the main character. He goes through biggest evolve and he’s fighting with a lot of past demons.
When it’s starting to look better there comes always some kind of obstacle. Despite this there is enough time to look into the heads of side characters and know how they think.
If you like bizarre characters it’s another reason to watch Berserk, because antagonists fits this description perfectly! When you look at them you literally feel disgusted and aroused at the same time IYKWIM.
Art: 8/10
As an average enjoyer of older anime I don’t mind if animations are little bit worse. I liked zooms or close ups on characaters details and grimaces which captures their emotions and feelings elegantly. On the other hand animations of background are nothing special even for the year of airing. It’s one of the very few things I can little bit criticize on this version of Berserk.
On the other hand these rough or gloomy animations probably fits the world much better than these new smoothed out CGI type of shit in recent series of Berserk.
Sound/Music: 10/10
There isn’t more enjoyable song in anime for me than Guts Theme to this day. Don’t get me wrong this anime don’t stands on one song entirely and whole music throughout this masterpiece is breathtaking. If you by some kind of incomprehensible mystery didn’t heard Guts theme to this day listen to it. As would Keanu said „it’s really going to be breathtaking".
Enjoyment: 10/10
My enjoyment was as high as your average crackhead on Kensington avenue in Philadelphia, nothing more nothing less.
Overall: 9,8/10
As I said at the beginning I cannot really be objective and I won’t even try. It’s one of the best animes out there and it adapts manga very nicely. It’s really hard to find anime of this kind and there is noone to this day which I would enjoy as much as Kenpuu Denki Berserk!
