Even though Hametsu no Oukoku starts with a very interesting plot, it goes downhill very fast and it's all due to a few main issues:
- The author doesn't know their own characters; the MC specifically starts very strong and OP, but it seems like in later battles he forgets almost everything he did in previous battles, it's a regression instead of progression. Usagi starts strong, or at least we are shown he probably is, but when we see him fight, he's just not strong, they had to nerf the MC to make the fight last. This anime starts by showing so much potential, a story that could develop into something good and enjoyable, but after a few episodes everything goes from 100 to 0, maybe even in just 2 minutes, let me explain:
Anime starts by setting the plot and characters very well, you know how the story will go and how thing may develop, but in episode 5 everything is thrown into the void. I don't know if the budget for the anime was cut to a tenth of what it was, but in this episode the direction was awful, I really do think that a first semester film student ...

This anime is not worth watching, the first episode makes you want to watch it, since it shows potential, but in the end, there is no "main conflict" in the story, meaning, there is no story.
We get to know our main character and what he can do, but his ability is never used and the anime just straight up turns into harem and ecchi nonsense. The last two episodes were the climax, appart from those, nothing interesting happened, if I had to compare this anime to something, it would be to only doing side quests on a game and waiting until a year later to start ... |
