GOD DAMN YOU TAKEUCHI
.... Is all I have to say for this.
The Saberface issue aside, I'm glad the money I spent on FGO wasn't all in vain.
Now, before you go IDK WTF IS GOING ON HERE??!! WHAT IS THIS CRAP??!! This isn't meant for all viewers. Mainly those who do not play FGO. So, if you want to watch and understand it because you're a big Fate fan, or was attracted by the beautiful animation, then be prepared to read through 6 chapters of content which would probably take hours to complete (and frustration too. *cries in Camelot).

10/10 really. Finally get to see what Marisbury looks like and boy does he look like another friggin' Saberface (again, damn you Takeuchi). Dr. Roman's scenes really made me cry. And the scene where Marisbury asked Caster about his wish really hit me deep.
All in all, it was a really great prequel and recap. Especially the beginning part where Mash was fused with Galahad. Have really high expectations for the actual anime.

Ahh, finally a serious MMORPG isekai anime that won't be disappointing (I'm looking at you SAO). Really, if you felt disappointed while watching SAO thinking it would be a cool anime where Kirito grinds the hell out of the game, overcomes hardships and clears the game, well congratulations, this is the anime you were looking for.
Well enough with SAO and let's move on to the actual review.
Looking at the synopsis written above halfway you'd think that it's a pretty standard start to an isekai anime right? Now this is where the real fun begins. Due to being the weakest he faces various hardships. Betrayal,

looked down upon, unable to trust anyone, you name it.
And it was then that started what SAO failed to do.

Mikami Satoru, your average businessman residing in Tokyo, Japan, gets stabbed and dies by a passing murderer. He gets reincarnated as a Slime in a parallel world. This Slime is not your average weak and lame Slime you'd find in every MMO game, but a Slime with special abilities and unique skills that make him overpowered. He meets Veldora, the Storm Dragon in a cave where he was reincarnated to, becomes friends with him and was named as "Rimuru Tempest".

with a decent way of someone going into a parallel world, but from then on, the anime blew my mind. At first, I was a little skeptical of the anime title because it would just be a story of someone reincarnating as a Slime, A SLIME out of all things, how could that be any interesting? But fortunately, I gave it a try and now I just can't wait for the next episode to air. Despite being overpowered as hell, Rimuru just wants to co-exist with humans and monsters alike, even creating his own village which consists of different monster races. With some comedy every now and then, you would expect this to be one of the best animes out there.
Art (9): Art is simply beautiful. Nothing much to say here.
Sound (9): The OP and ED are PERFECT.
Character (9): Like I said, despite Rimuru being overpowered as hell, he doesn't use his power to destroy everything in his path. Usually someone with this much power would just dominate the whole world but this anime is different and I love it. Every character is special in their own way and they're not textbook like.
Overall Enjoyment (9): I definitely hope that this anime would go on as it is. Would definitely be a shame if it were to start of so good and become bad later on.

Used to liked this anime a while back when I had utterly no experience in anime and was a full-time gamer. I decided to rewatch it just because I have nothing left to watch. This review is written after I've had a pretty general idea of what a good anime is. Without further ado, let's head to the review.

NerveGear taken the world by storm. Little did everyone knew, the creator of both the device and game, Akihiko Kayaba, removed the "log out" button, utterly trapping everyone's consciousness in Aincrad, SAO's world, without any escape, and made SAO into a death game. A death in the game would mean death in the real world too. An attempt to remove the NerveGear by other people in the real world would fry the user's brain and they would die too. And the only way to get out of this nightmare is by clearing all 100 floors, when beta testers only made it to floors below 10.
Story (6): The biggest flaw in the anime, the first arc started off good in the first couple of episodes. Little we know, it would soon turn out to be utter crap. It all started when Kirito, the main protagoanist, finally was able to get back to SAO after beta testing it a while back. He excitedly went to explore and hunt for some monsters but ran into a newbie, Klein, who wanted Kirito to teach him the fundamentals of the game. Taking up his request, they go hunting for monsters, like in any other MMO. After a few hours of hunting, Klein was hungry and wanted to have his dinner, so he wanted to temporarily log out and come back into the game for more hunting when suddenly, he notices that the log out button was missing. Soon after, Akihiko Kayaba forced teleported all players to the starting point and explained that the disappearance of the log out button is not a bug, but a feature of the game, and from there, turned it into a death game. Kirito vows to clear the game and to let everyone escape from this nightmare. It all started good and all, and you would expect the next episodes to be Kirito grinding the hell out of the game, get stronger and eventually, clear the game. But no, it was separated by big time leaps and random sub-stories. Rather than continuing with what should've been an MMO anime, where our protagonist, Kirito would just grind the hell out of it, you suddenly find that 2 years have passed, the frontliners (including Kirito) are Lv90 and above, and Kirito having hooked up with multiple girls. It was a disaster from then on and just felt that it was too rushed.
Honestly, the second arc is just so bad. The first arc should become a 24 episode anime itself and ending it there would've been so much better than a crappy second arc.
Art (9): The art is great and is what you'd expect from A-1. The fight scenes were cool and precise.
Sound (9): OPs, EDs and OSTs are things to look out for when watching the anime. LiSA never disappoints.
Character (6): Another major flaw in the anime, all characters just seem to be textbook-like, meaning that these characters could be found in almost every other anime. We have Kirito, which is the overly powerful guy who never dies and handles every situation with no problem at all. Asuna, a tsundere. Silica, a loli. Lisbeth, that girl who finds out Kirito is with someone else and cries in a corner. Klein, the single and perverted guy. Suguha, the imouto who has feelings for her brother. And many others. There's just nothing special about any of the characters, and some of them doesn't even need to be in the story or help with the plot.
Concept (10): The extra section. This is where I get in-depth with the anime and point out when it was aired. Many viewers actually fail to see the ingenious behind the concept of SAO. The anime inspired multiple companies, such as Oculus, to create a virtual reality world much like SAO. Although it seemed like total Sci-Fi back then, these companies gradually progressed further and further in virtual reality technology, and an FDVR wouldn't be really far-fetched.
Overall Enjoyment (7): Honestly, a 7 would've been too low given its concept and an 8 would be too high given the story totally destroyed everything, I guess I'll have to give a 7 since plot is the most important thing in an anime. Frankly, they should've invested more in the first arc and third season (Project Alicization) rather than making a crappy second arc and second season.

Undoubtedly the best anime of Fall 2018, and probably one of the best in 2018, this anime much like Bakemonogatari and Oregairu, is about "Puberty Syndrome" - a supernatural phenomenon caused by instability and sensitivity during adolescence.
Story (10): Azusagawa Sakuta, a second year high-schooler, meets a senpai in a library and unexpectedly, dressed in a bunny girl costume. Sakuta notices that the everyone in the library except for himself was able to see her. This senpai, also known as Sakurajima Mai, a famous celebrity, gradually becomes invisible and forgotten by people. Sakuta, who thinks this is "Puberty Syndrome" and has experienced

it before, decides to help her. And that's pretty much the summary of episode 1. The story is basically about Sakuta helping out people with "Puberty Syndrome" and reliving them from whatever instability they are having, thus ending the supernatural phenomenon they are having.
To me, this anime isn't just an anime, but a message as to how cruel our society has become, especially in high school. In real life, having instabilities during adolescence can cause serious mental issues and might lead to suicide. In every arc, the anime tells something about stuff that happen during adolescence. For example, isolation and fake rumor spreading in the first arc, anxiety in the third arc and the feeling of being constantly compared in the fourth arc. Almost every episode is relatable to someone who has difficulties in real life and I hope that viewers can change for the better.
Art (9): Don't have much to say for art. It's beautiful and something you'd expect to see in 2018.
Sound (9): Absolutely love the OP and ED. I enjoy them so much to the point where I might even replay them before watching/finish watching the anime.
Character (9): As an Oregairu fan, I absolutely love Sakuta's character. Much like Hachiman, he is a loner but is blunt and a savage, you'd just laugh at how straightforward he is. He doesn't care about the bad rumors about him in school and just lives the way he wants. The other characters are good too but I won't go much into them as it might spoil you.
Overall Enjoyment (9): Overall, this anime is perfect to end 2018 with. I'm super glad that someone created an anime with a mix of Bakemonogatari and Oregairu in it.
