Beelzebub is one of my favorite manga (you can tell it by my nickname from years ago lol) and it has the funniest comedy I've seen in one; granted, I don't have a very wide repertoire of completed manga, so take what I say with a grain of salt. But, let's get to the juicy stuff:

seriously, and that's what I love about it; it leaves room for comedy, and the comedy is always there, making me laugh my lungs out.
The characters, while great, in my opinion, sometimes are left behind and are seldom underdeveloped (I'm looking at you Toujou), which is fine, seeing this only happens with supporting charactes, but I really wish Tamura utilized some of the characters in a better way, story and comedic wise. And, since I'm talking characters, I'll mention the romance, which is there less as a truly romantic plot, but as a gag. It ended up with nothing set in stone, which I liked, leaving the rest to the reader's imagination and staying true to its roots.
Now, talking about the ending: without spoiling, it was a satisfactory conclusion. It did felt rushed through some of the last few chapters, but that's just how business is for a mangaka. Nonetheless, it was still a very funny conclusion that made me laugh and ever tear up a little with the thought of "so this journey has come to an end, huh?".
I love Tamura's art; it's simplistic, yet detailed, with an empashis on drawing jokes from it. I've always had trouble understanding action scenes in manga, because let's face it, drawing movement is hard, but I've had very little of this problem with Beelzebub; the battle scenes are easy to understand, for the most part, while still being detailed.
I recomend Beelzebub to any fan of comedy, dumb and surreal experiences, and good ol' classic shonen. Altough I, personally, feel that Beelzebub is at its best when being a comedy, even though I do like the action in it. I may have given it a 9, but my enjoyment is 9000, ADABUH!

I really tried to finish this anime, but after 8 episodes it wasn't getting any better and I started to realize that I was only torturing myself. So no, I didn't finish it, but that doesn't stop me from disliking it to the point of complaining about it. Just like when you eat some really salty peach pie; you feel disgusted, you throw up, and you complain to the establishment, because... Well... You paid to eat that. So, how horrible is Tenkuu Shinpan? Oh boy, hold on to your seats.

akin to Battle Royale (maybe that was my downfall) and what I got was one of the worst experiences of my life. So where do I start? I'll start with the decent aspects, since there are so few:
The art is passable. It's bad for the most part, but it gets the job done. Plus, there are some nice character designs (emphasis on "some") which got me saying to myself "hmmm, cool". And, along with the art, there's the voice acting which is okay; nothing to right home about, with the exception of the main character (Yuri), whose's voice is all over the place. It's like they didn't know if they wanted her to talk like a "dumb hot girl" who is always overly excited and emotional or a smart and calculating tipe, because the way she speaks is all over the place.
Aaaand speaking of Yuri, let's talk about the characters (if you can even call them that). There is zero development to any of the characters. Yuri goes from a dumb scaried girl who doesn't know how to handle a gun to a dumb brave girl whose weapon handling is on par with John Wick, it's ridiculous. The only character semingly interesting is the masked sniper, but any interest surrounding his mystery dies as quickly as the interest in the series as a whole. And then there's Mayuko... A cold blood murderer who kills innocent people begging for theirs lives on the very first episode. And guess what? The anime wants us to care about her and sympathize with her, because... She's been bullied as a child, guys!! Oh no! Poor girl, what a sad life she's led; that totally excuses murdering innocent people... Not! This was one of the most pathetic examples of a character I've ever seen. How do you want me to care about someone like that? That was the main reason I couldn't even enjoy the anime as a "so bad it's good" type of thing, unfortunately, because I only got disgusted.
Well, that was long, but now there's the story and its many, many, many continuity errors. I've read on forums that they've rushed the production and jampacked a bunch of chapters in a single episode, thus cutting a lot of information and character introductions, which it shows. When the story isn't revolving around Yuri, it's revolving around her brother, but that's where you'll start to scratch your head in confusion. Character's appear out of nowhere without a single introduction, and the anime acts like it doesn't matter, always; you'll pause and think "wait, where did those people come from?", but there isn't an answer, you'll just have to bear with it. And, apart from that, people get items seldom out of nowhere, like cellphones (which the fact they didn't have one was a big deal) with no explanation whatsoever.
Thus, while the story's concept is good, it's so poorly executed it makes me laugh. What was interesting in the first episode quickly becomes a bore, and they start throwing characters and concepts at you without ever explaining the ones that came before. There are so many subplots it's jarring, and then you quickly realize how pointless and meaningless they are, and that the main plot isn't far from that.
And this leaves us with something I truly despise: fanservice. This anime relies a LOT on fanservice, be it pantyshots, gratuitous "rape scenes", jiggling boobs, clothes being slashed and torn... It takes you out of anything remotely serious and interesting. It's hard to take the story they're trying to tell seriously when they keep throwing ass and panties in your face, which is a reminder of another serious foul this anime commits: the tone is all over the place. The series don't know if it's a mystery, a comedy, a gruesome gory-fest, or an ecchi, and it's infuriating.
Well... In short: Horrible anime with horrible characters and poorly executed story. Watch if you're a masochist, want to laugh along with your friends at how ridiculous it is or are having a drinking game.

Uzumaki is completely ridiculous... And I love it!
First things first, I'd like to share my view on Junji Ito, who I consider to be one of the most creative mangaka to have ever been born. Although he is seen as a horror master, I think his real talent is in taking the most mundane or stupid concept you can imagine and turn it into an interesting story, with mistery, horror, and comedy.

fears, which are unique to them. I did, though, gotten so intrigued by a great number of his stories, to the point of where I dreamt about them, so they're memorable, for sure. And Uzumaki works just like that, so:
Uzumaki may not be perfect - it is a collection of short stories, after all -, but the overall concept and its execution are some of Junji Ito's best. All 19 short stories (plus extra) revolve around the fictional town of Kurouzucho and its curse of the spiral. That's all there is to it, but we do get some escalation and some attempts at explanations (by the main characters). And, altought they are short stories, most of the characters still span from the first story till the last.
We don't get much character development and that is fine, since the characters aren't the focus of the story, the town is. The characters exist as a mean to tell all of its 19 stories (and extra). We do get some nice development from one character or another, though, and it usually involves the main theme of the town of Kurouzucho and its curse.
The stories aren't equally good. Some of them are "mediocre to fine", but these are the few exceptions. The stories that take a deep dive into the mystery and weirdness of the spiral, escalating the situation, are the best ones, and they're the majority. And this leaves us into why I enjoyed Uzumaki as much as I did: Its mystery.
Uzumaki managed to, from beginning to end, keep me glued to my seat. 15 stories out of 19 left me with a deep sense of mystery whilst reading it, and it felt good. I may not have gotten "scared" or "creeped out" as much, because body horror just isn't as scary for me, but the lovecraftian dreadful last couple of chapters did sent chills down my spine, and the psychological mystery of the town turned it all around and made this an experience I wish I could have it again for the first time.
The art... I don't even know what to say. Ito has gotten so good at drawing that my jaw drops in awe. Not to say he wasn't a good artist when he started, but from 87 to 99, he did, undoubtedly, improve.
So, yeah... Read it, but keep the things I said in mind. Don't go expecting a "knock your socks off" horror that will keep you awake at night, but a fun mistery with creepy and bizzare elements, and some ironic and hilarious comedy from time to time.

This has got to be the most boring manga I've ever read. It's a short manga, but I got so bored I couldn't finish... I was expecting something more than this, but what I got really disapointed me.
I never thought I could get this bored reading a manga... Even the action scenes made me sleepy. It was so hard to care about what's happening, and nothing managed to catch my attention so I'd keep reading and begging for more. And it doesn't help that there are a bunch of fancy scientific and mechanical terms, with a loooot of footnotes, that don't add anything and serve

only to bore me.
The characters are boring and the story manages to be even as boring. Some characters have hundreds of pages dedicated to them, but they never even get a proper introduction so I could give a damn. Well, the only character that got my attention was Briareos, but he barely appears in the first 12 chapters... He's the only one that picked my curiosity. I wanted to know who he is, and what he actually is, since I've got no idea, and none of the characters talk about it, but I couldn't bother myself to keep reading, even if they do explain his backstory in detail.
I swear, I couldn't tell what was happening on most pages even if I tried. Too many exposition, almost no fleshing out the main characters, and some combat that seems meaningless.
Yeah, I don't really know what to say, apart from the fact that it really didn't catch my attention and bored the hell out of me. 300 pages felt like a thousand and I didn't enjoy it.

I always like to say "you can throw great characters in any mediocre story and that mediocre story will transform into something good", and Kiku is a close example of that, for me.
Kiku is a very simple, short, and sweet story about being lost in life during your teens, and longing to be part of something. Almost everyone lived through something similar, although not always in a delinquent and rebellious fashion, but to live through it means to grow, but I digress. The manga manages to tell this story and purvey its message in a pretty fun and enjoyable way.
The story is your run-of-the-mill school

of delinquents, and it doesn't get any deeper than this. What I did love about it, though, was the journey (let's put it that way). The characters are far from amazing and incredibly deep, but they serve their purpose with flying colors. And the interactions between them are what makes this manga stand out and be a little more than a school delinquents/troubled youth manga.
Kiku presents a very simple message of friendship, with the classic "everything is better with friends, no matter what". And even though it is a very common underlying theme in the genre, it was the execution that made it enjoyable for me, personally. It's a very, very nice story about teens being teens.
Apart from the art sometimes making teenagers look like adults, and an abrupt ending, I have nothing really bad to say about this manga.
So, to wrap it up: Kiku is extremely short, so I do recommend you read. I left my reading session with a good feeling of "it was worth my time" and I hope you'll feel the same.

I'll keep this short and direct:
I loved the first three stories. They had interesting characters, an interesting setting, good horror, and they kept me begging for more. They got me hooked! Now, the last two stories about the weird Hikizuri family, though... These two stories have a different approach, in the sense that they have a more sarcastic tone to them. I don't mind that, have you, but what I do mind is over-the-top characters whose entire personalities are made of tics, like exagerated facial expressions, a lot of obnoxious screaming, weird eyes, being ugly and mean, etc... read, go for it. If you don't, well... Read those last two with your utmost discretion.

Angel Beats is, I'd say, a great exemple of "Jack of all trades, Master of none"... 80% of the episodes feel like filler episodes from your run of the mill shonen, where they throw in many different concepts that never reach their full potential, are poorly executed, and seldom add anything to the main plot. This is a 13 episode anime with a story that could've been told with 6 episodes. And, even though I'm being extremely harsh, I did enjoy the last 5 episodes, but that's still too few for a 13 episode anime.
I was three episodes in when I started feeling like nothing

had any importance to it, and this didn't change until I got into episode eight. The whole anime felt like a bunch of concepts thrown in for the sake of it, and poorly executed at that. And while I did understand what was happening, most of the time I didn't understand 'why' they were happening. A lot of things happened seldom at random, even though it wasn't random. And many things seemed like fodder content and had little to no real consequence.
I thought, and I thought hard, but couldn't find a single reason for the music in the anime, except for "hmmm it seems cool, let's throw some concerts and stuff in!". The allusions to music are all over the place, and are usually unimportant to the main plot. Plus, the majority of characters were so shallow I couldn't even care about most of them, even when they tried to make me care, cause when literally every character has a sad and tragic background, you just stop caring about them, since you already know what to expect, and it's the same thing over and over again. Not to mention the comedy, which is very hit-and-miss, so it's really rough to endure some moments.
With all of the negative out of the way, there's gotta be something good, right? Right? Yes, that are some good things within Angel Beats. Those mainly being the soundtrack and animation, which I've found superb even if I didn't like the overall anime. I still liked the last five episodes, and I really did like the underlying theme and message of the show, but I wish they'd done a better job of purveying it. And, besides that, there's also the comedy, which is extremely 50/50, it rarely works, but when it works it does make me laugh hard... But that alone can't make for a good anime, and so that leaves us here: A mediocre anime with great music and visuals is still, by the end of the day, a mediocre anime.
I get what the show was trying to say, I really do, but there are so many other shows and movies out there that tell the same thing in a much better way. But a lot of people seemed to like Angel Beats, so if you're curious or over-the-fence you should give it a try and, who knows? Maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did.

I'm gonna start with the elephant in the room: Yes, ONE isn't the best artist out there when it comes to drawing, but unlike One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100 was a passion project of his, and you can see that just by reading it. The art is actually not that bad and every frame has a lot of charisma. And not only that, but the comedy really hits the nail. I found myself laughing out loud a bunch of times, and I appreciate that.
The comedy and action may fool you into thinking this is just a funny battle shonen, but it's far from that.

We've got a very powerful coming-of-age story about Shigeo (mainly) and his friends, and there is an underlying theme of "hard-work pays off!" that is really fun to see. And, unlike other shonens out there, this isn't limited to physical power/battle strenght, but overall strenght as a person, mental and physical. And this aspect isn't overdone, characters who work themselves to the bone to get stronger don't become overly powerful. Powerful characters get even more powerful, but the development of most side characters are incredibly enjoyable.
And besides that, it also has some pretty fun parodies and critiques of religious cults and how they're formed.
Hmm, only good things so far, so what about the bad? Well, there are very few that really bothered me, personally. One of which is that some of the villains were pretty shallow, even though they did serve their purpose. And second is the chapter numbering that just got pretty confusing with later chapters. Plus, there's also too many "omakes"... They're fun, don't get me wrong, but they kept breaking the pace of some battles, for me. I think ONE overdid it a little bit.
All in all, Mob Psycho 100 is a pretty solid read. ONE (pun intended) that I really recommend you experience for yourself.

Ok, so since this anime is a collection of short stories, I'm gonna be rating them individually and later calculating the average score for the entire show. So, without further ado:
Ningen Shikkaku - 8
This was the opening story and I thought it was well executed. It showed the darkness of the human heart and mind living with disregard for its own life. A very real depiction of depression, as you will. Not only that, but a very sad representation of Dazai Osamu's own convoluted life... This one was the longest (with 6 episodes), but it didn't felt dragged out. It's one the largest novels of

the bunch, anyway, and the most recognizable.
Sakura no Mori no Mankai no Shita - 4
Definetely the worst of the bunch... I haven't read all of the books these short stories were based on, but this was the one that made little to no sense to me. From beggining to end the tone was all over the place, with over-the-top comedy and serious f'ed up murder, the story and characters made little sense, and even what I could gather to understand of it seemed to be told in a very "Meh" kind of way, with no cohesion to it. Maybe, for people who have read the book, the story it's actually good? Who knows? But I didn't like it, and the great soundtrack didn't managed to save it.
Kokoro - 8
People I know who read the book claim this wasn't very faithful to the original story or, at the very least, was missing a lot of details, which made the overall understanding and message of the story very partial and incomplete. But, besides all of that, I still enjoyed the "Kokoro" short story and how it was done with two different perspectives towards something similar. The characters may be a little shallow since we don't get much background like in the book, but it was incredibly enjoyable seeing it as a tragic love story.
Run, Melos! - 10
Definetely the best of the bunch. It was extremely well made and not even one of the others could top it... The characters were great, the music was great, the visuals were great, the setting was great, and the storytelling was superb. This was astonishingly visually telling, with an incredible setting of performing arts in a very believable theatre environment. And it also showed a cheerier side of Dasai Osamu's Life. Truly, a masterpiece!
Kumo no Ito - 8
Really liked this one. It revolves around a simple concept: "everyone deserves a second chance to do good, but they have to choose to". Great symbolism, nice music, and a very pitiful character... Loved what they did in such a small time.
Jigokuhen - 6
It picks up as another story from Ryunosuke Akutagawa, but this time it tells a more complex, and historical, story than in Kumo no Ito (apparently). I loved the visuals during this one, but that's mostly it for me. The story was nice, but it felt convoluted and I didn't really pick up the symbolisms by the end. But, even with all of that, I still enjoyed it quite a bit.
So, all in all, it comes down to a 7.3, so I'll give it a 7. It was a pretty enjoyable experience. I recommend you watch and get your own conclusions, and I hope you'll enjoy it.
