Tokyo Revengers (Anime) add

Preliminary (9/24 eps)

Okay so I'm gonna start this by saying that is a review done before the completion of the actual anime so its subject to change in rating. With that being said this series comes out strong. Tokyo Revengers came out of no where for me and I'm soo happy I decided to start watching it. A very likeable and relatable main character and pretty flushed out story about saving the people that matter to him. Its uplifting and wholesome at times. Powerful emotion that just makes you want to scream when something is happening that makes you feel helpless. Lots of emotion constantly being felt. ... But alas let me get down to the meat and potatoes.

Story 9/10 - (keeping it simple) Time Travel to a very specific time. The main character is trying to save the love of his life basically. He's met with challenges to do so in the process that are in my opinion struggles we tried to overcome at his age. Like I said previously a lot of this is relatable. Many people at that age desired to be better and this story is very empowering overall.

Art 8/10 - This art reminds me of another anime id seen a bit of called Black Clover. Its very beautiful and very pleasing to the eye. During the early 90s and 00's anime kind of had the same sort of design to it and its nice to see newer anime keeping to a specific style. The art also closely resembles the manga's art which in my opinion is wonderful.

Sound 10/10 - The music in this anime is on point. Especially with the opening and ending songs both being strong. Placing music with the right feeling at the right time that totally immerses you into what's happening. Not much else I could ask for. Also the fact that my favorite Japanese Band does the opening to this series. That alone makes it a banger!

Characters 9/10 - This anime does not fall short in this category at all in the slightest. Many might say they don't like the main character. My opinion on that is VERY different as I love him. Like I said previously I can relate with him and his struggles. He even does his best to overcome them. He doesn't just give up. Sure he has people there supporting him but he also is an amazing person which is deserving of the friends he has and girl.

Enjoyment 10/10 - *screaming along with Toman gang when charging into battle* RAWRR! Need I say more? :3

Overall 9/10 - This anime is still airing and has a bit to go. Hopefully its drawn out because of the sheer amount of chapters the manga has and the fact that it is basically "Page for page" adapting it. I highly recommend the watch and read of Tokyo Revengers. You will not be wasting your time.

Shounen yo Taishi wo dake! (Manga) add

Some people in life strike out and find themselves alone. Such is the case for poor Hibino Ryouichiro. With his life not going anywhere he decides to take an entrance exam for an art school all the way out in Hokkaido (mostly because it was an easy test that he knew he could pass). Oh and I forgot to mention one tiny thing. Hibino has never had a girlfriend before let alone any friends. Hes just a outcast that figured he would start his life anew some where else. I can't hate him for that honestly. I'm pretty sure plenty of people out there including ... myself have made pretty bad mistakes they wish would disappear.

Story 7/10 - Without giving anything away all I can say is he finds himself in the presence of many cute girls (one of which is a teacher) while he goes to this art school. Hes put through many trials which make him realize that he really needs to see women as women and not just sexual objects.

Characters 7/10 - This section is only going to cover to the two main girls.

Asou Tomoe - She like Hibino has not been very lucky in life and has also has never had a boyfriend before. She mostly keeps to herself and her art. Something about Hibino sparks an interest in her and she can't seem to look the other way. Everytime they are put in a situation she manages to make it all better. Oh and one major thing about Asou that I just have to mention. Not only is she tsundere, she has a decent size rack. Usually the token tsundere is pretty flat chested and not well endowed. >:3

Riho Kisaragi - "The school slut." This is the label she has been given. (This next part will be a bit of a spoiler sorry) She doesn't help defend herself when she takes away Hibino's virginity away in the first chapter. Riho unlike Asou doesn't really care whether or not he has a girlfriend and just wants to use him as a glorified sex toy. She generally is a good person and does care for Hibino. She also gives him good advice that does help him on his journey.

Art 9/10 - Now this is where the manga has its strong point. From the design of each girl down to her birthday suit; they all are drawn quite well. The sex scenes are very sexy! The artist goes out of his way to make sure that there's something for everyone when it comes to down to the nitty griddy. This is a ecchi manga afterall.

Enjoyment 8/10 - This manga was comical and had me laughing my ass off all throughout it. I fell in love with each girl in this series. I even found myself rooting for Hibino at certain parts. Mostly because I am kinda like him as well. Its nice to see the good guy have some luck with the ladies.

Overall 8/10 - I can definitely say I can recommend this manga to my friends. I read this all in one day and it will be a story that will stay with me for awhile. Now I know it doesn't have the greatest story in the world but it does a good job of being a good for the most part. The ending is even satisfying. Sure I would love to see more of this series but I think it ended on a good note. If you the reader decides to read this manga I hope you go into it with a clear mind and just enjoy it for what it is. A story of a boy who finally finds out what he wants to do with his life. Most of us just beat around the bush and just waste our life away reading and watching anime ^^;

Photo Kana~

I know there are only eight episodes out for this anime but I feel like this is actually a good time to review this hidden gem. I didn't really hear about this anime from anyone and really just decided to watch it because the art looked gorgeous. And no i'm not just here for the pretty girls...

Story - Photo Kana is pretty simple. There isn't a whole lot to it and I think that suits it just fine. It's a story that unfolds before you that might be predictable but still enjoyable. The main character Maeda gets a hand-me-down camera from his father ... and decides to see if photography is for him. During the course of having this camera he manages to capture rare moments of each of the girls. He was scouted by a mysterious photo club that seemed rather sketchy and decided that it would be okay if he joined because they shared the same love for photography as he did even if it wasn't for the same reasons.

Art - Simply beautiful. The main reason I decided to check it out was because of the art style. At first glance it looks overused but as you watch you notice that it takes on a style of its own. To best explain what I mean you really have to pay attention to Maeda's Photo Opportunities. He'll do this awesome camera zoom in thing and capture the moment that takes your breathe away. Or atleast it did that to me ^^;

Sound - The music to this anime is wonderful. Right out of a visual novel soundtrack if you ask me. I'm big on VN's and I could tell that maybe some of its music was inspired by other VN's. Most of the music really captures the moments perfectly. Slice of life in a cup of tea please!

Character - Now the characters really don't scream i'm different than any other person you've seen before. Though it's not really a down side to me. Since i'm taking this anime like it were a romantic slice of life i'm not much bothered by its lack of originality. Though I really wish they would have made this series a bit longer than twelve episodes. It could have down a Amagami SS thing and given 4 episodes to each girl to give good character development.

Enjoyment - Not much needs to be said here that you haven't already read from my review already. I really enjoy this series. It's nice to get a breathe of fresh air like this every now and then.

Overall - I know I said this already but I wish it were more like Amagami SS. Though I will give it pointers for being like it in a sense. How many times do you actually get to see the main characters go for each of the girls rather than just one. I sit there most of the time and just sigh. Not the girl I wanted him to end up with.... (Great example :P) Anyways I still have a couple of episodes left of this wonderful series. I can exactly rate this yet since it's not over yet. But for right now I give it an 8 for being exactly what I need at this given time in my life :)
