This is a show that does have some minor flaws but I could not help but give it a 10. Why?
The first thing that makes it exceptional is that it breaks conventional ways anime stories are told. As Loid Forger goes about his mission, things that happen dance between realism and poetic expression not to be treated too seriously, thinking for example of the circumstances in which he proposed to his future false wife.
Then we have the fact that the story is very well written, so much so consequences of actions lead to comical situations. There's a perfect balance of detective action, comedy and slice

Coming from a fan that is infatuated with both the original Fate series, Fate Kaleid and enjoyed even Carnival Phantasm (which should not be confused with this title), I have to say: this is either something someone wrote when drunk or straight up laughing in people's face.
There's literally no plot here, worse, there's so much "artistic freedom" in this that the whole thing feels both cringe and pointless. By cringe I don't mean fanservice that I like as well but you shaking your head and wondering "why, just why". When my beloved Illya finally appeared, for which I managed to watch it to the end, ...

I'm commenting here properly: not on the whole series but on Season 1 which is listed here. It's perfect from beginning till the end. Why?
If for whatever reason you are dogmatic about the Fate series, this may not be for you and if you're a fan of yuri: go to the second and third season but I still recommend you watch this one. Fate Kaleid Season 1 has a complete and well thought-out story of two girls having different approaches to becoming magical girls. It has stonks of humor but also everything needed to make you feel close to the main characters and possibly tear ...

To get one thing out of the way: I can't understand how someone thinks that giving this anime a literal 1 is fair in any way. I'm completely ignorant of the game origin this is supposed to be coming from and I certainly haven't intended on watching thise entry for fanservice (though I have completely nothing against fanservice).
Fate Babylonia literally has everything a good anime needs: an intricate story, humor, loads of action, psychological shenanigans between the characters and sure, it's not complex at a level of a novel but it's not your commonplace anime either. The best thing about this is the historical context. ...

An overall satisfying anime.
The good: Illyasviel's further development in this series. Not only is she like an Angel of Fire, beautiful on the outside with the prettiest eyes in anime (I love the art style in general here) and a modest and kind heart but she as the story goes, she will continue on her road of being truly heroic, which could be seen partly in 3rei. The story itself is decent, appropriate for a movie length. It does repeat some patterns we see in other action anime but nothing to complain about. Character development in relation to every other character is well thought-out as well ... |
