After seeing the reviews not recommending this manga I feel like I have to share my two cents.
I liked this story, I'm just a simp for the "friends to lovers" trope, what can I say, but I do see how some people may not enjoy the story. It feels a bit empty and the romance wasn't really developed at all which is a shame because I thought that it was going to go deeper into how Oka went from being flustered by sharing a bed with Mao, to realizing he liked Mao; but oh well, this was one of those situations where I take what
...
I can, and what I take is that Mao is insane but freaking funny and Oka is just cute and relatable in a way.
But yeah, I'm really disappointed in the romance department, I mean, Mao grabbing Oka's shirt and crying? that was fucking cute and it seemed like a great start for a cute romance, but sadly the author wasted the setting they themselves created lmao.
I recommend people give it a try, but indeed it may not be for everyone.

In this review I won't focus on the story too much because I've read the manga and I think the manga is a 10/10, the story is super fun to read, the romance is cute and develops at a good pace, the characters are compelling and relatable; it's just a good story all and all and my only hang up is the art style which can look wonky from time to time (specially Kurosawa's face proportions). This last thing was what got me extra excited for the anime because it was going to follow the story I already love so much but with a probably
...
slightly improved art style, that's why it has been a bit disappointing to see that the animation is... not so good.
The first 2 chapters look pretty good considering that this series probably did not get the greatest budget, but there were a couple of scenes (the most important of each chapter) that looked pretty good so I was excited, but it seems that by episode 3 the budget had started to run out and by episode 4 it has almost run dry.
The animation is laughable by ep 4, one of the most crucial scenes got ruined (for me at least) by the bad animation, it was so distracting I could not focus on what was being said by the characters and could only notice how wonky and stiff the animation was. Also, the art is not consistent, one scene is this style and the next is this different one, it makes the anime look even worse, especially when there are flashbacks and you can clearly see the styles of the flashback and the current scene are different. The voice acting was also noticeable bad on this chapter and that was truly disappointing to notice as it had been the most reedeamable quality so far.
I don't want to ramble any more, so I'll just say that I completely recommend this anime because of the story but if you're someone that enjoys good animation and bad animation can be an obstacle on your enjoyment of the story, then stay clear of this anime and just read the manga.
I'll update this review when I finish the story, just to see if the animation can become even worse or if it can improve a little on the next episodes.
Edit: I just finished watching the last episode and sadly, the animation continued to be bad on the later chapters, there were a couple in which it was so bad it was genuinely hard to watch. The voice acting continued to be pretty good but there were parts where you could tell the direction hadn't been as good for some reason (exaggerated tones on pretty mild scenes for example).
Still I enjoyed the anime because of the story and I just wish it had a better adaptation.

This review may contain some spoilers.
My opinion on volume 1:
I wanted to like it because the art is a-mah-zing but the writing is so lackluster it's sad. The story starts in the middle without giving much context or properly introducing the characters, so for almost 3 long chapters, I didn't give a damn about any of them.
Sakuraba just comes off as a cheater jerk who's very unlikeable and Asami as a bitter person who seems to have a grudge with Sakuraba, but since you have no idea why that is, it's hard to relate to him and like him. Then, part of the reason for
...
Asami's bitterness is explained and you start to like Asami a bit more, but still, more information is needed damn it!
Meanwhile, with the added context, Sakuraba becomes even more unlikeable in my eyes. He comes off as insensitive af and just an asshole in general.
The part I disliked the most was when Asami kissed Sakuraba to avoid Sakuraba getting stabbed, it gets brushed off as it's nothing, and worse yet was Sakuraba asking "why did you kiss me?". I don't know mother fucker, maybe to prevent the crazy ex gf from stabbing you to death?!!!
I seriously love the art, it's what kept me reading, but I did not enjoy the story.
I did read vol 2 because I needed answers and this is what I think about it:
It's chapter 2 and I can't stop thinking: "my goodness Sakuraba, just kys already and spare us of your bullshit", so not a great start. At least now I like Asami and I think he's a dumb-dumb badass with an awful taste in men, I mean, that Harada guy? Fuck him with a hot rod all the way to hell for all I care. His poor wife omg. Girls, don't get pregnant!! It's not worth it!
And Sakuraba's sob story doesn't excuse his awful behavior towards Asami and all those women. Like bitch, if you're not ready to come out of the closet that's fine, always do so until you're safe and all that, but that doesn't give anyone a card to toy with other's feelings!! Sakuraba had already hurt Asami in the past and here he is again, just playing with Asami's feelings just because he's scared or wtv tf.
Asami my guy, you deserved better than these two assholes, ugh.
JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY this Manga managed to make me feel so damn angry, I guess that's why I'm writing this. Although that last chapter was so cheesy and sweet, it managed to erase some of the damage.
Recommend it for the drama, the amazing art and Asami.
Don't recommend it because of the drama-llama, Sakuraba and Harada.

This is one of those mangas where I end up rooting for the third wheel (Namuro). I never ended up liking Kase, he was too much of a massive airhead (just to not say idiot) for my liking, and the chemistry between him and Yoshimi was never really there. The reason why he hurt Yoshimi was kinda infuriating and made me dislike him even more. He went away for literal years and, and suddenly he's back for work and ends up wanting to be with him? (but like not really given the ending). IDK, I don't like this kind of plot, it feels like
...
he didn't earn shit. Namuroooo! I was rooting for you! I swear!
It was a decent read but, I really would've liked it more if Namuro ended being the romantic partner, but given the manga cover, it was obvious that wasn't the case. The ending was trash IMO, except for that last page with Namuro at the bar. Have I told you how much of a better character Namuro was? Anyway... Another positive thing was the art, the art was pretty nice and consistent...
Overall, I didn't really enjoy this manga, but it was decent enough for me to read the whole thing and I totally see how some people may like this.

I had this in my "to read" list for so long I didn't even remember who was the author, wich was good because the other works I've read from her, are not my cup of tea.
But this manga? Oh boy was it good. It managed to hook me right from chapter 1 and the more I read the more I wanted to keep on reading.
It's a story with a slow pacing, but it manages to develop the characters quite well for a 1 volume manga. The way it presented the characters, giving us some context for the both of them little by little and I
...
also really liked that they were truly friends for a whole year before getting into romance shenanigans.
I don't want to give more details, because I really believe it's a story that deserves to be enjoyed with minimal context, so I will just add that I looooooved the art in this manga. It was so nice and it added so much charm to every character and situation. It really managed to convey so many things without needing dialogue. Just amazing art.
Edit to add that I completely forgot to mention that the details about metal and metal culture were on point! You can tell the author knows what she's talking about and as someone that really enjoys the genre, it was refreshing to see an author incorporating such a misunderstood genre of amazing music. Plus, it made me relate soooo much with Soushi it was unreal (I have similar issues like him and I started to like metal for similar reasons).
Definitely 100% recomended.

I enjoyed the story, it started slow but had a good development. The back stories of both characters were engaging and made them more real and easy to relate to, even if I didn't love Kanda and what the age gap between him and Akira represents in real life. The conflict felt a bit forced towards the end but still, it was some good drama and it was nice to see them resolve it by talking about it.
Then the author had to write chapter 10 and basically forget about half of the past chapters. Suddenly Kanata never talked about his feelings and they never started
...
dating (wich OK, fair, that wasn't stated on ch 9, but dude, it was obvious that was happening right after!).
I seriously disliked all the backtracking from the author on the last chapter and extra. I will pretend chapter 10 was never written and consider ch 9 as the ending, thank you very much.
This manga was a 9.5 during most of the story, but with that last chapter it went all the way down to an 8, and I guess that is only because I've read too much crap lately and this was an enjoyable read at last so I'm feeling like it's more good than it probably is.

Wow I don't think I have ever read something as bad as this. I've read weird things before, really bad things too, but this takes the crown by a massive long shot as both the weirdest and worse.
The plot was a complete mess with neither feet nor head (completely absurd). It seriously didn't have enough structure to make any sense whatsoever, especially in the first 2 volumes. The relationship between 2 of the main characters wasn't even well established until half the story had already happened, I never truly understood or cared about the bat-shit-crazy-bunny's story (he was just completely hateable!), the wolf was
...
so fucking unlikeable in the first chapters it felt very weird that he suddenly was the good guy. Anaconda guy was so doormat-ty for most of the story it was annoying and then he had some thoughts and feelings, and actually was important to the plot?!
Anaconda's babies weirded me out most of the time and were COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY to the plot. Also the way age works in this world was fucking weird and problematic as fuck. Everything about this world was fucking weird and problematic as fuck tbh, there's stories like Beastarts that at least make rules and make, such a fucking weird world, make some sense, but in this world everything it's fucking nonsensical and weird as fuck.
It included soooo many gory scenes when they were really not called for (like a stabbing that did not contribute to the plot AT ALL), and, so this author feels comfortable drawing someone munching on hands, necks and even chopping head offs, but can't even light-saber a damn penis for all those nude scenes? really? that's where you draw the line? anatomically correct bodies? ffs! Talking about anatomically correct bodies, I also did not enjoy the art style, the proportions of faces, hands and limbs were constantly changed and very wrong, and the facial expressions looked (90% of the time) as if the characters were having sex even if they were just talking normally. Also, the use of chibis was overused and, I dare say, abused in this manga.
When I finished reading the 3 volumes and after reading the afterword from the author, I kinda confirmed that this author may have some bad mental issues including bestiallity and some kind of kink with violence. Of course this is just my opinion, but it was still fucking weird that anaconda's partners (or should I say, "mating partners") were all based on the author's pets! (hamster, bird and dog), which apparently have their own smutty djs, and that the wolf fascination with bunny seems to stem from seeing bunny being insanely cruel.
The cover looked already pretty bad, but after reading the synopsis I was pretty curious to see what this clusterfuck was about. This is the very first time I hate-read something and it was an interesting experience that I don't plan on repeating.
Recommend if you're into very weird shit and/or hate reading dumb stories that make no sense.

Wow I really did not enjoy reading this volume, it literally took me months to force myself to read the last chapter.
Minato continues to be an annoying and very hard to like character, just as in the past two volumes. His growth as a character seems to almost disappear at the beginning of this volume just as in the last one, which is fucking annoying. Him and Tsuzuki are living together now and they've been dating for 2 freaking years, but somehow, fucking somehow, it seems like they've been dating for only a couple of months.
I can't help but feel bad for
...
Tsuzuki, but he also feels stagnated as a character. But I keep liking how sure of himself and what he likes and dislikes he is, it's refreshing in comparison to Minato.
Now, those new characters were soooooo fucking detestable it's amazing. Matsuri is a crazy piece of garbage, I haven't read such a hate-inducing character and as annoying in literally years. My blood boiled every time his ugly face appeared. The friend that acted as wing man was another annoying addition to the cast. What a rage inducing duo.
The only thing I liked about this manga really, was Toono, my guy, speaking facts and sense (but of course, Minato had to be the dumbass he is and ignore Toono's sensible words).
Do not recommend this story unless you like extremely annoying characters and extremely dumb drama situations.

Where to begin with this review? Maybe by saying this manga is one of the worst I've read in a while.
The synopsis sounded interesting and I was intrigued by the story, I thought it was going to be a short but angsty read seeing that it's only 9 chapters long. After reading it, I wonder if the author meant for the story to be longer but it had a bad public reception and it got dropped, IDK but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.
SPOILERS AHEAD
This manga is filled with dumb tropes and the way it's paced is atrocious. The
...
main characters aren't even properly introduced, it felt like: so this is Matsuoka and now he's in love with the MC and this is creepy Miwa and he was friends with the MC and has always liked her but you wouldn't know because by their first interaction it didn't seem like they ever talked to each other before.
Plenty of plot holes.
Ayase's family being too OK with two boys that like her, basically living in the same house, felt a bit unnatural. In what world teenagers would just proclaim their love in front of their crush's family like its nothing and the family would just be a little surprised and then encourage them to hit on her? This probably was supposed to be seen as comedy, but it didn't feel funny at all.
Both boys are soooo unlikable from the start, Matsuoka being rude and emo, and Miwa being a creep, didn't make me root for neither of them. At least Matsuoka got a bit better development and became a kinda better character, but his conflict felt too forced and his growth too quick and sudden.
Miwa's conflict was just straight dumb shit and he never stopped acting like a freaking weird creep. I seriously never understood if he really liked Ayase and I don't really understand what his character added to the story besides being the third person left to form an unnecessary love triangle.
Ayase was a boring dull character, kind of the typical frail and kind female lead that has a strong side, but it just came out as a very dull character with basically no personality besides "being too scared of boys". TBH, all of the characters were pretty dull.
Honestly, reading this was hard, I generally always read at least 3 chapters just to give stories a chance, but I wanted to stop reading on chapter one. After chapter 3 I kept reading because I just wanted to see how much more absurd some plot lines would get, and at least I was not disappointed in that regard, it really got worse as it kept going. By chapter 7 I was just a few chapters away from the end so I just kept going, and the ending was just as bad as the rest. Pretty boring, very predictable and soooo not exciting.
Al in all, this was a waste of time for me.

I didn't know what I was expecting when I started reading this story but it hit me like a truck in a highway... Only that it was a good thing rather than a tragedy.
Spoilers ahead. You've been warned.
The story starts with MC stating that he broke up with his boyfriend, so I expected the story to be about finding love again, but I was in for a ride.
I don't think that I've ever read a story about a break up and how much it affects both parts in such a heartwrenching and realistic way: You stop talking to the person, a text it's all it
...
takes for a slip up into their bed and now you're heartbroken again but it hurts even more. You try to keep your distance but they appear in your life again. They know you so well it hurts. You're mad at them but you're also mad at yourself, in both cases you know why, but at the same time, accepting why you feel that way feels like an impossible task, so you ran away from it because that feels easier than facing everything.
The author seriously managed to portrait the extremely messy, confusing and sad reality of dealing with a break that you didn't really wanted to happen. It was a bit hard to read as someone that has gone through something very similar, but it was cathartic in a way.
This story could only have two endings in my opinion, and I think either way it would have been a masterpiece for me. The story is very well written, and the art was amazing. Definitely worth the time.
