Refreshing to see a show where as the story progresses, gets better each episode. Strong Characters asides from one or two. Rare nowadays to see anime where it evokes emotions but 86 didn't fail to deliver. There were multiple scenes in the show where it was just beautifully put together with the music and the scenery. The full package is also there with the story being full of details and dialogue and not useless filler/fan service. The show is a must watch to at least give a try due to the unique nature/quality and ramping of story progression. Well done to the creators of 86.

The only reason this show isn't a 1 score off the bat is because there were some redeeming scenes where the artwork / music was fitting/beautiful. If it weren't for that , this would be a 1 episode drop. The main character is just another typical little boy. The main girl is just ratchet, she looked interesting before watching the show , but after delving deeper into the show it's just not worth continuing this series as there is just no value. Characters are just too weak/simple. There is no suspense/thrill when watching the show, no point spending hours to finish the series when nothing to look forward to. Stronger Characters + psychological component of mystery + better animations would make this show higher up there.
Show would be fun to watch for middle schoolers , not deep enough when it comes to survival type anime. Nothing to see here, pass. Too predictable and the art style is not appealing to the eyes. Didn't like how the main character acted as well right off the bat in the start of the show. Needs more. Lacking. Much better ...

Another show that proves that the overall rating for an anime is not to be trusted all the time. The show was like a star shooting up high then slowly to quickly crashing down. The first episode set up the show for an interesting story but the atmosphere/suspense kept getting drier by the episode. Combine the fact that no character stood out. I had high expectations for this show going in. The artwork looked great and the opening was fire. But as I was watching the show I noticed there was no strong reason to watch the show as there was little to no suspense/story. This anime had potential but just fizzled out and lost steam in my opinion after the first few episodes. There could have been more events where it was not so expected. When you watched over 150 anime, it starts to get real repetitive real fast, especially when it comes to romance type anime. What would have made this anime more enjoyable is if after maybe halfway into the show, the main protagonist starts to become more of a man and take action. Every single minute of the anime is exciting. There was not a single episode where it seemed like filler or boring. The more you watch this anime the more you fall in love with the characters. Funny at times, edge of seat suspense at times, and the fight action scenes are well done. Smooth and clean action that excites. Was first time watching an anime movie at a physical theater in America. Went to AMC , was going in knowing nothing about this show, all I saw was a photo of the cover. I wanted to go in fresh with no bias/no knowledge and make my own judgment. Was excited.
The characters/story was boring to me. In Anime, the most important element are characters in my opinion. Most of the time when an anime that looks like this come out where there is cute looking girls and massive hype it turns out to be trash to me (boring,over-rated,edgy) like the Bunny girl senpai anime, or SPYxfamily, etc. but this anime truly lives up to its hype.
Every one of the characters really has a strong personality and entertaining aspects to each of them. The soundtracks, the timing, the development everything is great. I am more of a serious type person and don't find much things funny but a lot of scenes in this show were funny and heart warming. Loved this series and ...

This anime caught my eye because I love psychological anime that has a lot of thinking and plot twists. It definitely reminded me of Squid Games and the concept is very similar. This anime reminded me of BTOOM , a ton of people said it was trash but I didn't believe them and tried it out and I loved it.
