This anime is, to sum it up, a mash-up of historical samurai characters and timeline and ridiculous powers. Don't get your excitements up if you have a mind of history because you won't find much here. There are battles such as Nagashino and Okehazama, but none of them follows what their historical counterpart did.
The story consist of a evil presence, known as Nobunaga Oda the Sixth Demon King, wishing to conquer the entire land of Japan. Fortunately, the clans of the East combined their might in order to defeat him. It sounds very cliché, but what do you expect in a samurai-bashing kind of ...

Might as well quit history lessons for watching this (Don't take it seriously)! Hetalia is a fun combination from historical reality (or semi-reality) and pure comedy.
Characters represents a country (or a micro-nation in some cases) who are seen as having a stereotypical nature. Each 5-minute episode explains events (or just shows complete randomness) in a fashion that it's actually enjoyable to learn. I like the simple art that Hidekaz drew and the soundtrack fits perfectly with every simple part (especially episode 17). Laughing is very common when watching this! If you plan to watch this anime, prepare a box of tissues because you will cry, men are no exceptions.
You would expect a good work from Key, but this goes beyond expectations. They have made a excellent mix of drama, comedy, and a little touch of fantasy to show us,the audience, what is a perfect anime. The story is simply a grand sequel to the first Clannad.Think of it like this, you will let out many tears (unless if you're a heartless person) from laughing and crying.
