A boy and his classmates have been summoned to another world- no wait, come back! This Isekai’s actually funny.
The story begins when Haruka is late arriving for the summoning after trying to run away and so God lumbers him with all the useless skills and jobs his classmates didn’t want, like Loner, NEET and Shut-In.
The first book takes a little bit of time to get going, as there’s quite a lot of establishing of all of Haruka’s “useless” powers, but once he meets up with his classmates the comedy really begins. Thanks to Haruka’s Loner powers he can’t be bothered to remember anybody’s name
...
but his own, so everyone ends up with random nicknames like Mean Girl, Meat Head or Class Rep. He can’t even remember the name of the village he’s in and has come up with a hilariously silly name for the Inn he’s staying at.
They even hate him at the guild because he’s always hanging around and complaining about the jobs on the board even though his NEET stat means he’s not allowed to take any jobs! Half the time someone will tell him something, he’ll totally misconstrue it and then end up berating them for coming up with something so silly when it was him that got it wrong.
Haruka’s scatterbrained character and the constant confusion he causes with how he muddles things up makes these books a joy to read. He’s regularly scalded by the girls in his class for all the misunderstandings he causes and he’s always completely oblivious of whatever it is that he’s done.
As of this review there are four books out and they get funnier and funnier as Haruka’s confusing antics end up improving the lives of everyone around him. Maybe one day he’ll even find his sex appeal, which he’s convinced has been hidden in a dungeon somewhere.
