For those who have never taken the time or have not been with anime long enough to have given the parent series of Yuki-chan a thorough viewing then what you are provided with when watching this series is a story of comical romance surrounding the the character of Yuki Nagato, hence the name. However is you are approaching this series because you are indeed a fan of the parent series then what you get is just a little bit more from the characters that you have likely come to love. Both are particularly good reasons to give the show a chance, even if this ... particular spin-off can be somewhat misleading with what the parent series actually provides. I present this review of Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu (The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato-chan) so you can decide if this show is for you.

First off, the story of Yuki-chan is hard to hate seeing how it is written by the same beloved author of the show's parent series even if it resembles more of a stereotypical romantic comedy anime, but even so some of that eccentricity that a loyal viewer of Haruhi can relate to. As the story of Yuki Nagato-chan progresses this eccentricity that I speak of pulls this spin-off away from what is truly just a generic series, and provides a lovely perspective of 'Kyon's' life should a certain Haruhi have never existed. The art, surprisingly, is also worth mentioning seeing how a different studio has taken up the series after so many Haruhi-less years. The new art, although relatively close to that of the parent series, provides a much needed uniqueness to the show that reminds new and old fans alike that this series is not dead and we will hopefully see more of it in the future. A per usual of most high production anime the story and art are the better part of the pie and thus I reward an 8 and a 9 to them respectively.

In the sound department we see the return of every voice actress and actor that the parent series was completed with and it is hopeful that any English dub (none when written) will also provide the same English dub and actors as both dubs in the Parent series have proven spectacular and this series is no different. Yuki Nagato-chan is great successor to what many would call an excellent series and should find a permanent place to any fan's collection. I reward an 8 out of ten.

Character wise the show has some limits however, this is a spin-off series and as result our main protagonist is a shy emotionally filled Yuki Nagato that was first introduced to old fans in the fourth book of the light novel series or in the franchise movie, "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya." This is a character that is worth loving but at the same time has some issues keeping up as the protagonist of her own show, as a result it seemed the author and studio reintroduced some initially not introduced characters. Otherwise this show would have lost a lot of watching value as the character of Yuki Nagato requires a lot of supporting roles in order to keep an average or casual audience interested. This of course probably wouldn't have been a problem assuming that the only ones that would've been watching this series were dedicated fans of the parent series and such a thing should not be assumed in the world of show production. With a lot of strong supporting roles Yuki Nagato gets a C on her test of being a good protagonist and thus is rewarded a generous 7 put of ten. Without prior knowledge of who the main protagonist is from the parent series (Yuki Nagato), then a casual viewer would not see anything particularly interesting about this Yuki which is just a shy girl with a crush.

Personally I could only call my enjoyment of this show as fair, being a loyal fan of the Haruhi series it seemed as thought this was just a little bit more of the characters I have come to love with no actual story progression of what we have already seen. Of course this is a spin-off and I knew this before jumping into the manga and show and so I can only speak personally when saying these things, but as an added note I do find it to be a well deserved addition to the Haruhi series and would recommend it to anyone that has seen the parent series and would recommend any newcomers to Haruhi to watch the parent series first. So for my enjoyment of the series I reward a 6 and give this spin-off the overall score of 7. This is generic romantic comedy, but it is an average anime with many reasons to dislike and just as many to reasons to like it.

There are many improvements that could've been implemented during the creation of this show but that's not to say that Trinity Seven was in any way unsatisfying, particularly in the fan service department. Trinity Seven does offer much more than this though like it superbly done 3DCG integration and memorable characters that break the boundary of most typical harem ecchis and this isn't even mentioning the variety of the characters that are provided. Anyways here's my review, continue to read and see if this show is for you.

Art and animation gets a solid nine out of my book. The one thing that ... some of these action-harem animes do very good is focus on the aesthetics of a show; granted there is some very aesthetically displeasing shows of this genre as well. Trinity Seven I assure you, is not one of them. It does its action sequences very well as a result of the detailed animation and provides almost flawless integration of its 3D elements even during casual scenes that include no action whatsoever. This also does well to improve some of the ecchi and fan service elements should that be something you're interested in. If not, then Trinity Seven will not be disappointing to the average viewer that pays no heed to such elements.

As for the soundtrack that Trinity Seven provides it has its pros and cons. I would be quick to rate some of the action sequences sound effects to be really high, but it's not impressive to hear good quality explosions from a medium that is widely used to convey action. Another con of sound effects lies in the lack of atmosphere. Sometimes background noise can be somewhat annoying if not really annoying, but lack of it completely seems dull to the viewer and was something Trinity Seven failed to provide. Trinity Seven did provide some pretty memorable audio from its music soundtrack however. The OP was most impressive and complemented the visuals marvelously. Soundtrack within the anime itself should it be noticed was vastly unique and worked well with the occasion presented withing the show. With these things being said, the sound wins itself seven trinities out of ten.

Even though Trinity Seven did have a knack for favoring some characters over others, it did extremely well on the characters it focused on. There wasn't any characters I would call rogue personally for most characters had some if not good history explained, and those vital to the story that was presented had reasons for what they were doing. In many of the most recent ecchi based shows I've seen growing complaints about predictable and plain characters from those who are not avid viewers of the genre. If you are one of these people; a refreshing look on the ecchi/harem genre may be taken from viewing this show. Especially since the protagonist is not average in any sense, but can also hold his own when he wants to. There is a theme here for him and he does grow stronger. As a result characters get a commendable eight out of ten.

Finally is the story, which I would regrettably say is very mediocre because of one major flaw. Trinity Seven is a magic show revolving around mages and it seems like the magic never really gets explained properly. Of course a valid counter-argument would just be, "It's magic, leave it at that!" but it doesn't really hold to much ground seeing as they tried to explain some aspects of it. Plus is the finer details that create some pretty extensive plot wholes that are probably better covered in the accompanied manga. These finer details are of course more whys and hows, curiosities that trouble the observant and knowledge-seeking individuals. Other than that is the fair but inconclusive ending. A five out of ten for an entertaining but somewhat lacking story.

Overall Trinity Seven is a good anime, and I would recommend to people that are slightly interested or actually dedicated time to read this review to watch it. I personally enjoyed it and would only stagger on a re-watch for those first six episodes, the later half was more impressive for me. The sequel to the beloved Sword Art Online animated franchise which seemed to be a hit to many within the anime community may find that this particular continuation may not offer many of the same elements that the original was fond of. SAO II offers only the new and can come as the biggest disappointment for those that are just looking for a continuation of the last season, however if you are willing to understand that life goes on, or just be accepting of new development than this may be the show for you. Anyways this is my review.

Story: 5/10

Let's be honest, anyone ... who has seen this show can find out pretty quickly that very little story development takes place relative to the original SAO. For the first major arc of SAOII we get small continuations from the first season but as it would appear that the main focus of the devs was to provide story development for new characters rather than the story overall. These characters would include the highly anticipated Sinon that appeared in the trailer and another by the name of Yuuki. As I will get into during the character paragraph the new characters that do provide development both character-wise and story-wise is rather limited.

Art: 8/10

The art of the SAO sequel is very similar to that of the first and no stunning visual improvements were noticeable. That being said the art for the first SAO was pretty good if not above average at the very least. OP and ED animations are also greatly notable. It does a good job of creating pleasing background images and character art, I only wish some of the 3D animation integrated was done more smoothly.

Sound: 8/10

Steel on Steel, in sync voice acting, and great soundtrack. For a title such as this it would be hard for A-1 not to have decent music and sound effects and as a result many OPs and EDs were shown throughout the duration of the anime. This can keep you interested for the most part and very little qualms were met here. An astonishing double Bass and piano was also very pleasing to the ears during each emotional sequence that the show had to offer.

Character: 6/10

Like the story, the old characters were largely overlooked in development with Asuna being the exception. This was much needed since it was mainly her relationship with Kirito that is stressed rather than her personally life as a whole. Character development in SAO II wasn't bad at all, but if you're expecting the characters you are familiar with to be expanded then you will be disappointed.

Enjoyment: 7/10

I liked to an extent, really not much comments I have about it personally. Ask me if you want more details on how I personally felt.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun) is a typical romantic comedy that adds a few unique elements to what you would normally expect out of this genre. I can not express enough how much laughs one can potentially take from this show and is good for anyone who is interested in (shoujo) manga or is just looking to brighten the mood. Nevertheless here's my review, continue to read and see if this show is for you.

Story: 6/10

The story is brought up right away with the introduction of the first episode and is pretty typical for a romantic comedy. Which means that the only ... drive for the story overall is the eventual and/or sought after confession of a couple that may or may not be perfect for each other. I will say however that you are not watching this anime for the story, at least not entirely, it is the humor in the story that will keep most longing for what happens next in this anime and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun provides much humor. As an added bonus, it doesn't really leave that "what happens next?" feeling that most anime of this nature will leave, but rather a "I like how it is." sort of conclusion.

Art: 8/10

The art in this show is very manga like, and the colors will probably make one think happy thoughts more than anything else. The backgrounds that this anime provides are not entirely detailed, or at least not as detailed as most. Most backgrounds that lack detail are also not areas we see our characters around a lot. I found no qualms with general animation and this anime does provide a variety of animation styles which will be seen by any who decide to watch this show.

Sound: 9/10

No synchronization problems with the dialogue are present in Nozaki-kun, and there isn't too much sound to really judge other than that. We do see some comedic scenes that include more of your non-everyday sounds but these seem to work well with the animation. As far as the soundtrack is concerned, I would give a lot of credit to the OP. The in-show music is also fitting and really conveys a romantic comedy feel.

Characters: 10/10

All the characters in this show are meant to convey perfect examples of manga stereotypes/archetypes, and it is so overdone that it is hard to give this category any hate. The characters are what provide the humor, the love, and are the main thing that keeps audiences intrigued. The protagonist is a cute young woman trying to express her feelings to her crush, and almost every character she comes across in her pursuit to this goal are all worth meeting. For these reasons I give this category a high score.

Personal Enjoyment: 9/10

I truly loved this show for the fact that it never failed to give me a good laugh at least once per episode. It is a typical high school romance setup sure, but it plays it out in a unique way by making the characters extremely unique to the point where realism is no longer questioned. I will definitely be seeing this one again very soon.

Rail Wars has much to offer anyone who is interested in the Japanese way of life surrounding Public Transportation Systems and as an added result can provide some history about the industrialization of the country. It is an average anime that is surprisingly entertaining with some flaws of course. Nevertheless here's my review, continue to read and see if this show is for you.

Story: 6/10

From what is clear by the synopsis, one can probably tell they're not going to get an epic or an incredibly heart throbbing romance out of this show. You do however get a satisfying slice-of-life feel from it as ... each episode takes you along a specific story arc, with an occasional arc spanning a couple of episodes. This being said a couple of cliffhangers may stand in your way, but not in the dramatic sort of sense. That being said there is no grand conclusion, it's a casual story for people who are looking for an anime to get them past a depressing Key based anime that left a gap in their soul. If this has happened, you know what I'm talking about.

Art: 7/10

As the title would suggest, there is a lot of trains in this show, and with a show that has so much emphasis on trains the animators and artist did a good job on providing extraordinary detail on all mechanical entities within this show. Along with this is near flawless integration of 2D and 3D animation. The show was also fond of creating some weird angles for character interaction, this is mainly due to the ecchi elements that are present within the show, which can be more distracting than pleasing.

Sound: 8/10

There is not too much that an anime can mess up with sound. As for this one I'm sure there are plenty of trains locally available to get good sound in for this show, and the malfunctions and action that comes with it plays well too. Some dialogue is not synced with animation. As for the soundtrack we see very good OP and ED, as well as fitting music to accompany the shows current mood.

Characters: 8/10

The protagonist of the show is a slightly fanatical foamer that clearly has a lot of knowledge about trains. Other from this fact his dreams and motives are normal, which are good for a viewer to relate to. For the more fanatical side of our protagonist, we have a group of fairly normal friends to accompany him, that react a way most 'normal' people would with a foamer. The slice-of-life elements of the show also provide good character development for most characters and springs some interesting romance as well. Likewise their are some very predictable characters that one may wish were more developed.

Personal Enjoyment: 9/10

I like this show! Although I imagine there are many people that would have a hard time trying to keep interested if they're not at all interested in Public Systems or Criminal Justice. Even if a viewer did hold such interests, it is still possible they would not be satisfied with what was offered.

Great story, great art, great sound...questionably well played character development? Possibly. Regardless, Aldnoah.Zero will probably be seen as an instant favorite to most anime lovers. It makes sure to get you attached, but not too attached to characters, and I put much emphasis on the 'too.' Nevertheless here's my review continue to read to see if this show is for you.

Story: 10/10

I give this anime the benefit of the doubt strictly due to the fact that it was deeply implied that a season two would be coming, most likely this is the case. In fact as far as story is in general ... it was very thrilling and can easily keep a viewer hooked even without the complete enjoyment of the person watching. To be completely honest it was story that was seemingly most emphasized and because may have lacked in some other topics concerning this anime which will be discussed.

Art: 10/10

The animation, art, mechas, everything concerning this topic is well done, in fact other than some questionable angles and on occasion facial expressions, it is hard for me to dislike anything about this topic.

Sound: 10/10

This topic is almost directly related to sound, perfection. From Aldnoah.Zero we get a visually stunning show as ear pleasing one. The soundtrack that plays throughout the show greatly complements the battle sequences and mood no questions asked. Even the sound effects concerning the show, whether it be action or casual in the scene, is good. No qualms should be met here.

Character: 7/10

As mentioned in the story topic, this anime does so well in so many criteria that is bound to be lacking even a little bit in something. In Aldnoah.Zero we see a major emphasis on getting the story moving in earlier episodes but get very little in terms of character development. In fact what can arguably be called the protagonist turns out to be one of the least interesting characters up til the end of the show. The viewer will no doubt be interested in other characters the story introduces because the are being more 'human'. As an added note however this does play better for the story criteria, the show will make like certain characters and either pull a R.R. Martin, or make feel a little betrayed. HA! Focused character development can play with emotions, and for that I give the Character criteria a courteous score.

Enjoyment: 8/10

Overall I would call this show a very good anime, and I look forward to any progression in the story. At the very least a season two, which the show so kindly introduced, will be very greatly desired. Keep up the good work!
