So it does work - after series like ‘I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness’ failed to realise such a promising idea in a halfway acceptable way, ‘An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride’ kicks down the door and shows how to do it right!
Witchers are brutal, human-sacrificing, child-eating mages who are feared by all. Zagan is one of these hated sorcerers, although he doesn't really fit the stereotype. So when he falls in love with the slave girl Nephelia at first sight, he buys her and finally has an excuse not to pretend to be the
...
evil sorcerer.
You might be wondering why I wrote so little about how Zagan loves Nephelia in my summary - it's in the title, after all? But luckily, for once, a series manages to build a story and a world around these character dynamics, both of which are entertaining as hell. The familiar ‘I'm ashamed to even touch her like a 12 year old’ that both Zagan and Nephelia display is reduced to a character trait and so can't be annoying, it's even cute to watch in this anime.
I hesitated to watch this one for a long time because I was really burned by lousy anime like ‘I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness’ or ‘Unnamed Memory’, which realised the concept of two unequal lovers more than just shabbily. Now I'm glad I did after all, this is the best (completely new) anime of the season so far.

‘Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers’ is one of many anime this season that I've already read as a manga. Only I had forgotten about it here until I saw the first episodes of the anime.
Guy wakes up in new world, everyone thinks he's weak, kicks him out, he's strong after all. And conflicts because different powers, not knowing that some of them did him wrong, wanted to recruit him.
The plot of this series is summarised very quickly because it doesn't say anything. That doesn't necessarily make the anime bad, I've at least found the 6 episodes so far ok. If
...
it wasn't for the catastrophic quality of the animation and voice acting.
When it comes to the animations, you quickly realise that they've cut corners here and tried to avoid CGI at the same time. Even though I welcome the lack of CGI, there are some of the most poorly directed animations here, where, for example, a tracking shot is repeated 5 times (see episode 4).
The voices of some of the characters, especially the female semi-protagonist Fenris, sound like someone has put a bloody awful filter over them. At least for the first few episodes, it was really annoying, but after that I didn't listen to it that often.

‘I Shall Live As A Prince’ is finished and thus one of the few manhwa I was allowed to read through. So now I can look back on the whole 88 chapters and have to restrain myself from criticising it to the ground because the last few chapters weren't good.
Reborn as Prince Jinseong, a modern Korean soon realises that his life is not as easy as he thought. For he has been reborn as the brother of the greatest tyrant in Korean history, of all people! At first despairing of what to do, he decides to rewrite the history of Korea when he sees his
...
loving wife for the first time...
This is a historical drama about a time in a region I don't really know anything about. It would actually be quite important to me that a manhwa that claims to be grounded in the real history of Korea is actually historically accurate. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no way of assessing this. I also have to bear in mind that the manhwa was probably not made for the German potato and so many cultural aspects are taken for granted. At least for me it was always a stumbling block how the king or other high personalities acted. But can I criticise the fact that such things are not explained when the target audience knows such things anyway?
That said, this is my first semi-Isekai that at least addresses the idea of an alternate history scenario. What if Germany had won the First World War? What if America had never been discovered? What if the tyrant king of Korea wasn't a tyrant?
Unfortunately, the manhwa only touches on this topic very roughly. This is particularly unfortunate because there is an epilogue which takes place in the modern world after Prince Jinseong changed history - but I found the epilogue so subterranean anyway that it cost the book two stars from me.
Apart from that, the selling point of this manhwa - you can call it the reason why you should read it for all I care - is the endearing protagonist. He tries everything to protect his wife, family and country and will take any risk to do so. At the same time, there is some intrigue going on, which was at least as fascinating. From betrayal and attempted murder to feuds within the council that normally runs the country - Prince Jinseong's unusual, unpredictable actions make waves here and these waves are more than exciting to watch.
In return, the manhwa delivers one of the worst endings and one of the worst epilogues I've ever seen. Even if there hadn't been this epilogue, the ending would have been disappointing, even if I'm glad that ‘I Shall Live As A Prince’ wasn't dragged out indefinitely. But the epilogue is the cherry on top of the pile of sh*t, stop reading the manhwa with Chapter 84.

A cute little romance story where two worlds collide - or do they?
‘Unnamed Memory’ is about the unusual relationship between the powerful witch Tinasha and Prince Oscar, who wants to take her as his wife. Because he was cursed as a child, he can no longer father children and had actually only sought out the witch to break his curse, but the situation is more complicated and the curse is extremely powerful - only a magically gifted woman could withstand it! The prince has the brilliant idea of marrying the witch, but for reasons unknown at first she is against it.
‘Unnamed Memory’ starts out like
...
a romance story with endless potential. The witch world could be explored, Tinasha might refuse because the witch culture wants it that way, diplomatic intrigues with other nations could occur because the prince tries to marry one of the most powerful creatures in the world or whatnot - in general, a story in which the witch and aristocrat/human worlds collide because of such a relationship would be more than just fascinating!
Unfortunately, this idea only plays an extremely small role in the anime, which has so far been preoccupied with providing far too many clues about Tinasha's oh-so-tragic past. Unfortunately, this is not only rather boring and annoying when you consider what potential it could have had, but the anime also just beats around the bush the whole time. An event happens here, a fight is completed and we get another grain of rice of relevant information - after 2+ episodes.
Unfortunately, this means that I don't like a lot of things about the series, and Tinasha herself in particular annoys me in every conceivable way. These aspects range from the fact that I find many of her character traits incomprehensible to all the scenes in which the oh-so-powerful witch is hurt or at least cornered.
On the other hand, Oscar shines as an amorous fool who would destroy the world in order to marry Tinasha, which is what entertained me most about this series. Conquer a life-threatening dungeon? No problem, new world record if he can see the witch! What's more, the aristocratic world, which keeps trying to talk him out of seeing the witch, at least plays a role in his scenes.
Conclusion on the first 5 episodes: In the end, the anime went in a completely different direction than I had hoped. I can't stand Tinasha in any case, even if she's not bad enough for me to cancel the anime or something.

I presently have a little problem called ‘Help, I've already read all the longer manga and now I can't find anything that entertains me for more than 2 hours’ - at least that's what an isekai manga centred around my situation would be called. Fortunately, ‘Standard Of Reincarnation’ has a rather short name. In any case, I was very happy to rediscover it by chance.
A boy is born with one arm and is therefore cast out as a good-for-nothing - but he doesn't give up and manages to beat the brutal, hated sword master of the main family in the end! But instead of
...
being praised and celebrated, the master stabs him in the back and throws him in a dungeon. But Dawyen wakes up hundreds of years later, only to realise that the story has been completely misrepresented and he is now known as a totally evil demon!
The story is rather generic - revenge manga are a dime a dozen. Taking revenge on the family that dragged his name through the mud is certainly high on Dawyen's to-do list, but that doesn't make this manhwa so good.
Instead, I enjoyed a lot of little things, but above all the colourful mixture of often exaggerated, lovable characters. You won't see anything groundbreaking here, but the mere fact that Dawyen has a god buddy who always gives him advice warms the heart. Aside from that, Dawyen is just an interesting character to watch, using his knowledge and so often not just talking with muscle, but using intrigue and diplomacy to try and make the battles work in his favour before they even start.
Apart from that, what we have here is a very mediocre work, but one that can definitely entertain.

Short review for a short manga!
‘Fuun kara no Saikyou Otoko’ is about young Siegfried, who was born EXTREMELY lucky - probably because there was a mistake and his last life was characterised by an absurd amount of misfortune. When he finally gets lucky and wakes up in a loving family, events pile up that make him want to become stronger - especially because he realises that his extreme luck can quickly throw him into dangerous situations.
My strongest impression of the manga came from its brevity. 13 chapters - although the individual chapters are quite long - are too few to get a detailed impression. ‘Fuun
...
kara no Saikyou Otoko’ has potential and features a cute protagonist, but so far there is little more than hints at the world and story this manga wants to tell. Perhaps this is why it is noticeable that it does not shy away from sadder themes and scenes - for example, Siegfried has to experience a great misfortune at a young age. If the manga had more chapters, this would hardly be worth mentioning, but as it is, the manga gives the impression of not telling an ‘OP protagonist can do anything’ story.
Conclusion: I would wait to read it, but otherwise I have nothing to criticise here.

If you try something 1000* times, you'll get there eventually. You will achieve your goal and become better than anyone else - this idea applies both to the manga itself and to my time with it.
A young man wakes up in front of a demon queen who asks him to kill her! After training for 30,000 years, he beats this demoness known to be invincible - but in those 30k years he has developed feelings for her and decides to break her curse and free her from her obligations as a demon queen! So when they finally return to his world together, he is suddenly
...
asked to enter an academy for returned heroes...
The most important question I ask myself for these reviews and want to answer for you is why you should read the manga. Why not all the other stories that are so similar? What sells this book? And although I tried frantically and gave this manga another chance several times because it's quite highly rated, I just couldn't find it.
This manga is simply meaningless and boring. Every aspect of this particular piece of work has been seen a thousand times before and every aspect has been done at least a hundred times better. “But that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad” - that's actually my attitude towards these 'generic' themes, but this manga proved the opposite. I made it through 17 chapters with great effort, but now I'm giving up, I'd rather rewatch all the generic isekai of the last season in one go than read another chapter.

“Sex-sells” - I always had to think of this saying with “Isekai Walking”. Generally a rather generic story, with generic protagonists, generic artwork, etc. I had fun with it - but why? What sold this manga so well?
In “Isekai Walking”, a young man named Sora is summoned and directly kicked out by the king because he only has a skill called “walking”. But what the king didn't know was that this skill has the side effect that every step you take increases your level! So when he does the obvious and walks around, he discovers how beautiful this fantasy world is - so why not
...
travel it?
And it's this journey that sells the manga. If you want a story that ignores the story and characters and simply shows the beautiful, fascinating aspects of a journey, then you'll have fun with “Isekai Walking”. The manga here isn't perfect either - e.g. the villages, forests and other places that are visited seem far too normal, at least to me, for exploring a fantastic fantasy world - but I don't know of any other manga that really focuses entirely on the journey in a classic fantasy world. Stories like “Kino's Journey” or “Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill” are better overall, but only go in a similar direction.
Other than that, this manga is very mediocre, quite detailed - or lame, depending on whether the glass is half full or half empty - and pretty meaningless.
Nevertheless, I had fun with Sora's journey, even though it felt like it had only just begun and so not much happened.

This Manga is the best.
Why? Because S H A R K.
If that's not a valid argument in your opinion, you won't have any fun with this manga either.
"Killer Shark in Another World" is about a girl who spawns a shark. It is omnipotent. It can do anything and the manga tries to explain this with a lot of logic, which makes no sense at all. But since the manga is really convinced of its garbage talk, you kind of want to believe it, you want to think that it makes sense.
Actually, I've summed up the charm of the series with my first two lines
...
and don't need to say any more. If you want a manga that talks trash from front to back and somehow twists all the tropes you know until they become new, stupid and funny, then read this.

And with that, I've also seen the "please don't let it get out anywhere that I watched this show" anime of this season - somehow one of those comes out every season.
And I have to admit, when I compare "Gushing over Magical Girls" to the other anime in this category, it was the best in years.
Hiiragi Utena is forced one day to become the bad guy and hurt her beloved Magical Girls. But somehow she seems to like it too much? As it turns out, she is a real sadist who could make a fortune as a dominatrix.
With this summary in mind and slightly drunk,
...
I started the series and really enjoyed it. It deals with all kinds of topics that would be considered taboo even among taboo topics and that is admittedly often fun, even if some of the 'things' dealt with made me look away. For example, someone played an infant and wet his pants...
But the main focus of the series is and remains the sadistic protagonist Utena and lesbian games. The whole thing goes so far in some episodes that I have to ask myself if that only counts as softp*rn. If such scenes were often unpleasant - no matter how hard the anime tried to make them funny - the series has a certain charm, especially the characters are often way too funny and at least watching it once can't hurt.
However, not everything is cake eating. As to be expected from an anime in this category, there are issues in the production quality. It's not as bad as some other cases have been, but scenes are inconsistent (e.g. characters just spawn) and the German subtitles also have some really rough mistakes.
The biggest problem, however, is the "story" that the series starts to sprinkle in at the end. I don't know why more and more anime do this, but of course there has to be a big, secret plot that could turn everything upside down. Season 1 only mentions this in passing at the end, but it turned my stomach, made my hair stand on end and almost made me stop watching the series. When I watch "Gushing over Magical Girls" for messed up characters, taboo themes and funny scenes, I don't need or want some secret evil plot interfering with the funny scenes. END.
Conclusion: If you could already stand series like "Redo of Healer" and found "Interspecies Reviewers" funny, you'll have fun with this one too (even if "Interspecies Reviewers" is much better). This is one of those shows that is best watched drunk, with friends, or drunk with friends, and which is then fun to watch.
Edit: This would probably have been more fun if it wasn't about magical girls. Japan seems to like them, but I just don't get into them. Also, the anime has my respect for never sexualizing the obviously underage "Nero-Alice" in any way, just as there are no lolis. Even if it is questionable that the magical girls are all teenagers, a certain boundary is maintained.
