Belle, or Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime, is one of those movies in which it speaks to a specific subset of people. I left the theatre in tears, thinking of how greatly I wished that I could have seen it as a child. I understand why it may feel flat and unappealing to many, and this does not undermine any criticisms which are to be had. However, I feel that it is important to remember the impact which stories like this can have, when seen by the right people.

Kobiyama is a very enjoyable and comedic series. The strength of this comedy series is that it plays off of an insane premise - that everybody in this story looks like a One Piece character. The jokes are whacky, and they land just right. I found myself chuckling out loud as I thumbed through the tankobon issue frequently, it is so amusing of a premise, and it is used to it's maximum enjoyment.
Of course, the series has little to do with actual plot, so do not be expecting any massive Epic tearjerker. It is simply a rather amusing light comedy, which has yet to wear ... |
