At first I had plans to drop this but for some reason I went against that and decided to finish it anyways, do I regret it? No, but I wouldn't say it was worth the time I wasted to watch it.
STORY/CHARACTERS:
The plot is basically about a pink haired girl named Satou that is a (((non offending))) pedophile, who kidnapped a small child named Shio that she has groomed into becoming her emotional escape in life. The pink haired girl is also homicidal , has a crazy aunt, and is very psychopathic.
Unfortunately, she is not the only character with serious mental issues and she's
...
not even the ONLY pedophile. There are 4 pedophiles in this anime, one is a teacher, one is a manager who raped a teenager who became a pedophile as well, and our anti-hero protagonist.
Not a single character within this anime is remotely sane either. This gets really old, really fast. Even the only "pure" (according to the anime) character which is the child clearly has behavioral traits similar to developing sociopaths.
Many aspects of the story makes it hard for me feel immersed what so ever due to how absurd and unrealistic it is. Almost everything that happens in this would never happen in real life scenario, especially in terms how undetected everything is regarding the murders committed and how it is dealt with along with the behavior of these characters. It is just crazy and in a laughably bad way. I understand this is a piece of fiction but if you can not even make your world believable, then you can not make the viewer feel much at all aside from annoyance of how lousy the world building is.
SOUND: it's just there, ok? And it's like, who cares- there's nothing special about it but it is also not intrusive.
ART: Super generic modern anime looking. Like the music, there's nothing going for it, the character designs are from a million anime you have seen before. You won't find anything eye catching here artistically speaking. In regards of its animation, it does its minimal job in showing movement.
ENJOYMENT: Barely. I basically watched it like I was watching a car accident in super slow motion. You already know it's going to end horribly, but you just want to see how the collision goes.
OVERALL/FINAL THOUGHTS:
I'm surprised people would call this a 'horror' anime, as it is not scary at all, just disturbing and unpleasant as we have to watch this yandere pink haired monster get away with murders and keeping a child that she has romantic feelings for inside of her apartment. The real horror is how horribly bad this anime is.
There are far better psychological horror anime out there, this is one to give it a hard miss, you're not missing anything unless you're a creepy pedophile using lolicon/shotacon content as a form of escape, or a person who is very desperate to watch some sort of 'disturbing' content when the only really morbid thing is the pedophilia which is grossly sugar coated and romanticized (at least from the protagonist's view)
Watch it if you want to laugh at how bad it is, but that's all you should watch it for , really.

I may be the minority opinion here but I pretty much struggled to finish this anime, in fact i was on the verge of stopping from watching it completely . Why? Well it really has nothing to do with the quality of the anime or anything like that, it's just that frankly I could rarely get even a chuckle from it- and it being a comedy anime, made it impossible to skip through any of it as that was what it mainly offered.
I am perfectly aware this was a reboot targeted towards the Japanese demographic, but as someone who tends to have a rather wide-spectrum
...
of humor, I had a hard time getting behind the comedic aspects at all. Especially with how much the anime forces something funny to happen out of thin air, it becomes a chore to watch. I think this is because everything about this anime is heavily bent on being Japanese on almost every aspect- which is perfectly fine, but it's obvious this wasn't made for anyone outside of Japan to understand.
Each 25 minute episode has numerous segments, at first i thought it was actually fun at first but it gradually became annoying and in my opinion very detaching. I ended up skipping some segments as I simply did not enjoy the plot, which was something that also heavily influenced my criticism for this anime. A good portion of the story of each segment felt very stretched out at times or even repetitive as segments beforehand shared a very similar basis/outcome.Once again, I get it- it's supposed to be funny and random, but it always bothered me how the amount of scenarios the sextuplets were in that it was sort of like they had amnesia of the person they were interacting with. It didn't feel progressive, or like as if what you were watching was actually accumulative aside from at most reoccurring characters that just end up being thrown in to quite literally fill in the background or maybe show up for a line at most - there just no development that felt like watching it in order was pointless.
Regardless of the massive amount of inconsistency and flawed humor for me, I can't ignore the obvious dedication and love the people who made this anime put in, you can tell they really wanted to please their fans by tipping their hat towards the classic series and generally enhance for not only the old fans but the newcomers of the series as well. The visuals are simplistic yet very well done (especially with how colorful it is), the sound is excellent, and i really enjoyed the characters, especially the sextuplets.
Now, if there is something that i felt this anime shined in it was actually the serious ,dramatic episodes - there's about 3 that's revolved around the main 6 (well from what I remembered) and they were actually the most memorable episodes to me. I know that praising a comedy anime for content that isn't it's main focus is kind of unjust but I really felt the need to acknowledge their ability to really tug your heart strings as it depicted moments that had alot of depth to them despite the majority of the anime was a never ending joke in comparison.
If you've watched a clip that shows what the anime is like and you get a laugh out of it, then watch it, because that's exactly the content you'll be seeing for the majority of the time. If you could barely laugh about it at all and found it sort of obnoxious like I did, I would skip it.

This movie has three lil movies inside, I'll name them in order of appearance -"Magnetic Rose", "Stink Bomb" and "Cannon Fodder".
The first episode "Magnetic Rose": I felt that it reflected the title pretty well- the theme definitely correlates to memories. This was probably the most impressive in terms of story and art- the only complaint is that this would've been ideal if it was turned into a full-length movie instead of being thrown into a 3 episode movie. But that's just me. The story is basically about two space dudes from the future exploring the interior of what was once home of a famous
...
opera singer of the century (our generation).
The second episode "Stink Bomb": I'm not sure how it relates to the title at all. This was the most humorous and light-hearted of the three. It's about a chemist who takes a pill right before he sleeps and then he wakes up with everyone around him dead- it sounds very dark and depressing but they managed to keep it surprisingly mellow somehow believe it or not. I enjoyed this one a lot as well.
The third and final episode "Cannon Fodder": This felt a bit underwhelming in comparison to the first two, no offense. In terms of visuals this was probably the most unique- it's very rough and gritty but it can be very charming. Its about something comparable to the Industrial Revolution and the war around the early 1900s. I always kind of waited to see the little boy the majority of the time as he felt to be the main character but sadly he doesn't get as much screen time as i hope he would. The only thing that corresponds to memories is the little boy saluting a general from the past and he dreams of eventually becoming one instead of being a cannon launcher like his father.
Overall: It's pretty good- but if i were you i'd watch it all in reverse (episode 3 first, episode 2 second then episode 1 last). It'd probably be more satisfying than if you did it in order. There isn't a chronological order to it anyway it's just three different movies with some connection ..with i guess the theme of memories tucked inside.
