A while ago I watched a series called School Days; that was more than 6 months ago. After that, I started watching TV shows like Supernatural, House MD, Lost, etc.
TMoHS has been, since I saw the first season, one of my favorite shows. And now that this movie finally came out, I had to watch it.
I loved how they gave it a nostalgic feeling, with Haruhi not being in the main cast, and the usage of the main theme-song from the series, in the beginning. The whole atmosphere of the movie reminded me a little of Makoto Shinkai's works. One of the few things that
...
upset me,though was that it was more about "the Yuk". Honestly, one of the reasons I loved this show so much was because of it's main character; the rest of the cast (except Kyon) didn't really appeal to me.
Although the runtime was over two and a half hours, I didn't get bored for even one minute, only pausing twice to go to the bathroom. Usually when I watch such long movies, I get sleepy, and start pausing hundreds of times; that was not the case here.
I started watching this film, with very high expectations, seeing as it's ranked fifth in MAL's top, and I wasn't disappointed at all. I only hope to see more Haruhi in the next movie or series that will, hopefully, follow.

When I started watching Ghost Hunt, I really didn't know what to expect. Up until then, I hadn't seen a series that could literally "scare" me. Other so-called horror series like Elfen Lied or Hellsing never even made me budge. I'm not saying those aren't good series ( Elfen is one of my favorites), but they didn't really live up to the horror part.
The characters very pretty good. John was really funny at times, Monk was the cool guy, and Mai was kind of annoying; but they did their job at keeping the show really entertaining.
Favorite character is Monk. I remember the
...
lady with the broom-like spiritual incantation-stuff really bored / annoyed me. She was way too cocky, and while her silly prayers never seemed to do anything, she was still acting all high and mighty. I really hate that kind of characters in anime, as they bore me to death. They're more dull and annoying than the I Rate Gamer. Well, maybe not really that annoying, but still...
My only complaint (and a big one) would be that the series ended like utter crap. No real solid ending, just a funny picture of the group waiting for Kazuya to get better.Pretty inconclusive if you'd ask me. I've been waiting for a sequel for years, hoping they'd make the ending clearer with it, but it's not really coming out, is it...
=-= Art =-=
I don't remember much about the art, the drawing style, effects and the likes because I've seen Ghost Hunt more than two years ago. But, seeing how the series is pretty recent, I don't think there are major issues to be addressed here. It wasn't bad and it wasn't outstanding. It just was.
If there were any major flaws in the "art department" I'm sure I would've remembered them. I loved the eerie backgrounds in the episode with the creepy, bloody hallway. That was the one that really scared me.
I also liked it when there was a scary moment, and they'd show up each character's face in picture-in-picture -like squares. That was pretty cool.
But the fact that there are almost no scans of Ghost Hunt on the web doesn't really help either. Sadly, It's one of those series that there are zero to five wallpapers, and one to twenty scans. You can't really find many Ghost Hunt resources and stuff on the internet. :-L
=-= Sound =-=
The intro...one of the best intros I've ever seen. It didn't show any of the characters, as most series do in their openings. The music in it was freaky as sh*t, the weird floating lights, the faceless hooded silhouette that was gradually approaching the screen, with a fiery background and GHOSTS FLOATING EVERYWHERE, THE DARK AND WEIRD RUINS, THE WHITE FLASHES, THE CREVASSE, THE SCARY ORCHESTRA-LIKE MUSIC AND EVERYTHING ! How can it get more awesome and freaky than that? When I was watching the tenth episode or so ( don't really remember that well. it was about halfway in the series anyway), the opening started and, my cousin, was in the same room with me and she said : "what's with the freaky music?".
John's accent owned, by the way. The japanese voicing was generally good, except for Kazuya sounding like a smart a** know-it-all. He was a tad annoying at times; reminded me of Rei from NGE; the difference being that Rei isn't annoying. I can't say anything about the english dub, though; I don't watch any dubbed anime.
Also, just because of the awesome opening, I'm gonna ignore the fact that the ending sucked :d
=-= Overall =-=
It may be because horror series (and generally horror stuff) are my favorites, or because of the simple, to the point name of it, but Ghost Hunt was one of the most enjoyable and appealing series to me.
I watched it on the dvd-player so I there was plenty of space for me to get under the blanket, close my eyes and sing some Mika with my ears plugged when I got scared. Just kidding :)) it wasn't that scary. OR...was it? O.O
I appreciated the fact that there were no "classic-sucky-style ghosts". You know, those white silhouettes that looked like my grandma with a white sheet covering her. They portrayed poltergeists, ghost-dogs, restless spirits, a possessed doll and all that stuff in a way that you could tell was fantasy, but wasn't that far from reality either. Something like those documentaries you see on Discovery about "the other world". And I have to say I enjoy those a lot.
Anyway, great series, great soundtrack, good characters and crappy ending.

Story : 2/10
Dude...this movie was the most cliche thing I have ever seen in my entire nearly-sixteen-years-long life.
When I heard that a full Resident Evil movie was to come out a few months ago, I was kinda hyped. But, after watching this...thing... I have to say that I am mega-disappointed.
The story started rather nice, but after about half an hour it got very very lame. Lots of uber-predictable and silly scenes like, for instance the water-kissing scene or the matrix bullet-time.Not to mention how
...
the picture with Angela's family popped up 2 times in the perfect place, right on time to trigger a lame dramatic bulls**t scene.
Everything just sucked. If you don't believe me, just watch the movie. You'll understand.
I mean, I'd rather watch a bad Lorenzo Lamas action movie.
Art : 9/10
If it weren't for the nearly-flawless art, this movie would have been a perfect failure. The CG-style was awesome, and was, in my opinion the only good thing about this movie. Because of the art, I won't consider that I lost an hour and a half of my life. If only every part of this movie were as good as the art...
Sound : 3/10
Besides Leon's superficial and "bad-a**" voice acting , which failed miserably, I really liked the ending song. It was great... NOT !
I mean, come on. Something like Papa Roach or Mudvayne would have fitted a lot better with the ending. Not that pop-rock-like song.
Also, what was with the super-modern cellphones that had some old brick-like phone monophonic ringtone? And how come at the end, everyone had their clothes and hairstyles absolutely identical ? Like, what the f**k? Didn't they shoot, tumble, swim and jump throughout the whole damn movie??
Character : 4/10
What happened to the cool Resident Evil 4 Leon? What's with this Arnold Schwarzenegger-like guy? The only thing that was similar to the movie Leon and the RE4 one, was his leather jacket and the hairstyle.
At least Claire was okay (besides being slightly retarded).
Enjoyment : 3/10
All I have to say for this part is that, after the first 45 minutes, I was eager to finish it faster. And that can't be a good thing when watching a movie. If it wasn't Resident Evil I wouldn't have watched it all the way.
Overall : 4/10
Overall, this movie blew. If you're not a hardcore die-hard Resident Evil fan, don't watch it. There are lots of other horror movies that you'd be better off watching; like for example :
Dark Water, Shutter, Saw and even the Silent Hill movie, which was pretty bad.
Or better yet, go watch all three Resident Evil movies, because they can't even be compared to this piece o' trash.

Story : 8/10
I've seen or at least heard about series with super-powered assassins and all that stuff. When I first saw DtB's synopsis I can't say I was very ecstatic on watching it. But, I'm glad I was wrong because the show's story was pretty original.
Contractors, hired assassins who are said to not have almost any emotions, and could kill someone with absolutely no remorse. But, Hei (or Li) is different than
...
the rest of the contractors.
Not a bad start for a story :)
Art : 8/10
Nice art, no real "major flaws" in the character design, or stuff like that. I can't say that the outline of the contractors when using their powers is very appealing though.Other than that little annoyance, everything is okay.
Sound : 7/10
The first opening...didn't like it. The second one was a lot better, but not outstanding. I liked the ending with the beach a little. The voices were good, but nothing special. They just did their job.Sound was ok, but not the series' forte.
Character : 8/10
The characters were pretty interesting and quite original. Like a talking cat, a chinese skinny-glutton or an old "nice but at the same time grouchy" man.
The police lady kinda bugged me a bit, because she was pretty annoying. There were a few other characters that I didn't really like, but the rest were fine.
My favorite DtB character is Havoc.
Enjoyment : 6/10
Well, I kinda dragged myself into watching this show. And at about the half-point of it, I was barely watching one episode a week. So, I can't really say I enjoyed watching it, as I was waiting for the ending to come faster. But, I have to admit that the last couple of episodes really kept me into it.
Overall : 7/10
Overall, it was fine. That's all I have to say. It was a "worth-watching but nothing special"- kind of series.
I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Black Lagoon or Speed Grapher.Or even Ergo Proxy.

=-= Shakugan no Shana Second =-=
Story : 8/10
Well, unlike the first season, this one is focused on developing the characters more. Perhaps, too much. The first half of the show is mostly fillers. It actually reminded me of Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien. But, I suppose it wasn't that bad, because we got to know some of the characters' past and the sorts. BUT, the second half of the show kinda made up for it, because it was a lot better. It was almost as good as the first season.
...
Art : 9/10
The art is almost flawless in my opinion.Great graphics, characters are drawn nicely, as well as the environments. Not to mention the fighting effects such as the fuzetsu visual effect, the auras of the characters and all of that.Still it's not perfect, as I've seen a few series a tad better at this chapter.
Sound : 10/10
This is where in my opinion, the show shines. The first opening is one of my favorite openings of all time. The insert songs such as the "dramatic" violin tune are excellent. The second opening...not that good, but the first one was awesome. The voices represent the characters perfectly. The first ending was great as well (for an ending). The second one wasn't that good, but it did the job.
Character : 8/10
The characters seemed a bit stereotypical to me.Like Shana being a "spoiled" kid, Yuji a guy that doesn't know when to give up and doesn't accept things as they come that easily, Wilhelmina being the somewhat cold-hearted "parent"/maid-wearing person(P.S. I hate Wilhelmina) etc.
My favorite character from this series, as well as from the first season is Tanaka.
He rocks, and he's hilarious at some points. He knew what he wanted to do with his life and put everything aside, in order to achieve his goal. He's also not stereotypical.
Enjoyment : 7/10
The first season kept me watching it from episode 1 to 12 the first day I started it and the rest of it the next day.Well...to be honest, after seeing the first two episodes (which ruled), I thought it was gonna be that enjoyable until the end.
But when the romance-school life thing came in (not that I don't like those kinds of anime, but I wasn't expecting it from this show), I kinda forced myself to watch it, 'cause I don't usually drop anime, unless they suck badly or they become extremely boring. But after the first chunk of episodes, it became fun to watch and worth spending the time to do so.
Overall : 8/10
Overall it was a good series, but I think that when I'll remember Shakugan no Shana, the first season will pop up in mind, because, in my opinion it was better than this one.Usually second seasons are better, but in this case it wasn't like that.Still, I don't want to make it sound like I didn't enjoy watching this one too. It was good.Fun to watch at some points.

Well, I guess this episode was supposed to clear things up a bit, but for me it didn't even get close to doing that.
In my opinion, this episode is pretty much useless. But since it's Elfen Lied, it's good.
I was really expecting it to be a continuing of the ending, since it left so many unanswered questions. I'm hoping there will be a second season sometime, but that seems improbable.
