Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is without a doubt one of my favourite shows in recent memory. From its incredibly immersive and vibrant setting to the absolute joy that were the characters ESPECIALLY Maomao (I'll get to her later) this anime absolutely delivered on basically every aspect it set out to. Every episode was so engaging and the way every plot point culminated towards the end was just wonderful to see and it was so much fun slowly piecing things together as it went on.
Now. I have to talk about the protagonist of this show, Maomao. Oh my goodness is she one of the absolute best we've
...
had in a loooong time and probably my favourite female protagonist ever, I cannot even begin to explain how thoroughly entertaining and refreshing she was from start to finish. So wonderfully well written, so lovable, so unique, so expressive so damn cute it was such a joy to follow her through whichever mystery or even simple task she'd carry out because it always remained interesting and everything she did was explained and contextualised through her own words which helped even further to showcase her intelligence. I cannot stress enough how refreshing it was to follow someone so human, with obvious flaws and perhaps worrying things she does that help to even further humanise her because she's certainly not perfect and they don't pretend like she is.
I absolutely adored the soundtrack in this show, every one of those vocal insert songs made my playlist and Hana ni Natte NEEDS to be talked about I cannot understate how much that has become an all time favourite OP for me, no idea Ryokuoushoku Shakai were even capable of making music like that and I was a pretty big fan even prior to this. Even the non-vocal OSTs were wonderfully used and added so much to every scene. The art and animation were nothing short of stellar either, from how beautiful the palace grounds were to even the small details in scenes it was all so immersive and of course I absolutely adored all of the visual gags especially Maomao's hilarious expressions.
Overall I really have no complaints with this show, it was such a breath of fresh air and kept me consistently enthralled since the very first episode. Absolute must watch!

Sousou no Frieren is probably as good as a "basic" fantasy anime can get, from its animation to characters to general pacing I think everything was done really well and created a very immersive watching experience. I liked the way there was a focus on Frieren's past adventures, with flashbacks sprinkled throughout each episode giving us more insight into the world before and also Frieren's thought processes. Everything felt very intentional in this show, the slower parts helped the watch to feel like an adventure itself whilst the more action packed parts were intense yet still with an air of serenity to them which I
...
think helps reflect the more intricate magic system in this show compared to other fantasies where environments just get blown up and it's all kinda boring.
I did enjoy the main cast a lot in this show, whilst they definitely don't have the most depth and perhaps cant be quite tropey they're still realistic and the dynamic made for some very entertaining scenes I never really got bored of watching them interact. The art and animation too were both really good especially during the action scenes I had a lot of fun watching those, the world and environments were great too everything was so pretty.
Overall this was a really fun watch, in my opinion definitely a bit overrated but that doesn't mean it wasn't still great. Definitely recommend to any fans of not just fantasy but anime in general!

Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e 3rd Season was a solid continuation from what preceded it, the quality was definitely kept up even if this season was less exciting than the previous two imo. Ayanokouji continues to be a really interesting character and it's great to see his development as the episodes go on, a few other characters went through some major development too this season which I really enjoyed, it's cool to have a cast that's fairly large like this but to still give time to allow them to develop. With the first year now concluding in the story I'm very interested to
...
see what happens next considering how much has been set up for the next season (whenever it may come out), without going into detail there were some really interesting things brought up even just in the finale and I cannot wait to explore them at some point.
The art and animation continue to be solid this season, I do enjoy the artstyle of this show a lot and the same goes for the character designs. Soundtrack was great as well, ZAQ absolutely killing it with the OP as usual (when will she ever miss). Overall this was a fun watch and certainly worth keeping up with if you're caught up with the rest, I will certainly be reading the light novels soon depending on when the next season is announced for!

Dosanko Gal wa Namara Menkoi is a show that was honestly a lot better than I was expecting it to be, by no means was I blown away or completely invested but for what it was I certainly did have a good time. The main two girls really did carry this show (along with Fuyuki's mother gaw damn), they were always such fun in basically every scene and I really liked getting to learn more about them. However as is the usual issue with shows like this the main character really did hold back a lot of my enjoyment, I really don't understand why so
...
many anime are led by essentially a blank slate of a character who does the absolute bare minimum and almost doesn't even seem to think for themselves meanwhile they're surrounded by legitimately interesting characters who are well-written and fun. Like you've proven you can write good characters why isn't your protagonist one? Idk it really irks me because so much more could have happened throughout this but if you look back at it there was barely any development since the first episode we meet each character which is why I'm very glad the girls were as good as they were. There was really a lot of room for certain scenes to go certain ways or just for things to actually like happen but they never really did which did start annoying me a bit towards the end unfortunately. I did really like the art in this show though, it was all very pretty and colourful and I thought the designs of the main girls were really cool too I loved a lot of the outfits and whatnot.
Overall this was a fun watch just don't go into it expecting a masterpiece, the girls really did carry but they remained fun to watch from start to finish and that's really all you need from this show so I'd recommend for an easy watch!

Solo Leveling was a manhwa I had incredibly high hopes for and MAN did it not disappoint in the slightest. Frankly I was blown away and I was already expecting a masterpiece, I finished this entire thing in 3 days whilst also having uni every day I simply could not put it down once I started reading. An immensely captivating read, so immersive and so damn exciting it really felt like the characters and art was jumping right off the page.
I'd like to speak more about the art, as this was my first manhwa I was surprised when I found out it was all gonna
...
be in colour and oh my goodness was I absolutely absorbed in so many of these drawings. I was saving panels as I read and I ended up with 297 in my folder, it just got better and better as the series went on I had to sit and bask in pages sometimes. I adored the colouring and lighting effects present throughout so much of this read and man the hype moments were just so brilliantly done. The flow and energy of the panels were exciting and made me feel like I was actually watching a battle go down with how it all moved and linked together it was just such a pleasure to read.
In terms of the characters I gotta hand it to the goat himself Jin-woo. God what a cool dude, I thought going into this he'd go down the typical "edgy" protagonist route but nope that guy was cold and badass and literally just exactly how you'd want a character to be in a story like this like he was seriously flawless and through all he was going through he still had his sweet and thoughtful moments I was just in awe at how much I enjoyed watching his development. I really really liked the side characters too, from all the hunters to the shadows to the friends and family there was not a single one who felt annoying or useless they all brought so much life and I loved the relationships within the story everything felt so connected and real it was such a joy. Cha Hae-in was another stand-out character I adored her, Esil was great too and also shoutout Beru my goat!!!!
Speaking more about the story I cannot overstate how enjoyable it was to experience, once again at the start I truly had no idea what to expect but I was blown away at how everything led up perfectly to the climax and how every little story beat remained relevant and helped to shape everything properly for the plot. There were so many insane stand-out moments throughout the entire read, moments that got your heart racing or got you tearing up or got you damn near cheering the characters on like this was just such a ride and I'm so glad I rode it.
Overall this was a phenomenal piece of fiction that I will now be eternally recommending to anyone and everyone this was a wonderful experience and I will now do nothing but think about this for weeks to come woo goodbye productivity hello rereading and watching hundreds of youtube vids!!!

Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun 2nd Stage was a pretty good continuation of the first season even if it didn't quite go where I wanted it to. The main focus was shifted from the first season and dealt more with other characters rather than Tomozaki, which was cool to see but I do think some of the parts dragged on a little especially the second half. I did still have a lot of fun every episode and the charm of season 1 was still here I just think it lacked a little bit of depth to the story and general direction.
The first half was fun and I really
...
liked how more characters kinda came together but I really think the second half let this season down a little, it all felt a bit slow and I got quite bored of the scenes with Kikuchi. Without spoiling I really was not a fan of the ending either, I guess I can see how it went that way but man from the perspective of how the season was set up I don't really understand why that happened.
I really do enjoy the cast in this show I think everything's handled in a way that's quite refreshing from most other anime I've seen, characters like Mimimi that completely steal the show are always so fun to watch and she had some really standout moments and jokes this season she's a joy to watch, the rest of the supporting characters are great too I think they all had their moments this season for sure and none of it felt forced.
Overall this is definitely worth watching if you've seen the first season, whilst I didn't really agree with everything that happened it was still certainly a fun watch!

Mato Seihei no Slave is a show that honestly surprised me, I wasn't expecting anything when I went into it but I really ended up enjoying this. A mostly female cast is always cool and I really do think the characters were great, as far as harem protagonists go Yuuki was pretty solid and the girls were so much fun to watch. Their development was great and I think the power system was interesting too. And Tenka. Oh my god Tenka. I need you please hit me up. Anyways I really lived for the "reward" scenes if I'm being honest they were kinda the highlight
...
for me like I looked forward to those more than most other things in this show but that's just a testament to how well they were executed. Whilst the action may have been lacking a little the fights were still fun and I wasn't really taken out of it by weaker CGI or anything like that. Overall I liked this a lot more than I thought I would, definitely recommend if you're not really looking for a serious watch cos I was very entertained!

Ore dake Level Up na Ken was a hype journey from start to finish, I wouldn't say it was anything mindblowing but it certainly achieved what it set out to do really well. With this being presumably an introductory season I wasn't excepting the story to get crazy yet but there have certainly been some interesting aspects explored and set up for future seasons which I'm super excited for.
I really enjoyed Jinwoo as a character, it's great seeing how he thinks in certain moments and with how integral his character development is to the plot I think they did a great job exploring that. The
...
serious moments really hit in this show, supported by great OST and voice acting I was really immersed throughout this show's many fights and it was always hype seeing new abilities used and new foes being fought. The supporting cast were cool too even if there wasn't a huge focus on them, again with Jinwoo being the absolute centre of the story it makes sense not to waste too much time focusing on side characters so I'm happy they didn't.
Overall this was a really fun watch, as of now I've not read the manhwa but I do intend to soon however I've heard it wasn't a perfect adaptation, but to me as an anime only I'd definitely recommend!

Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu Season 2........... I am rendered speechless. I truly truly cannot express in words enough how special this series is. How perfectly it's written. How it had me more invested than any show I can remember in recent memory. I am baffled. Romance does not get better than this. And I don't think it could ever hope to. Nothing compares. Nothing even comes close. I will never be over this series. Anime does not get much better. I don't even know how you could conceive a better main two protagonists than BokuYaba has. It's not possible. The character writing the
...
dialogue the scenarios the animation the voice acting the development it's all flawless I have no complaints with this anime I have none whatsoever. Perfection personified.
Speaking more about the characters, I cannot fathom how they were even written. From the moment we met them through all the masterful development I have never rooted for two characters more in my life. I cannot explain how masterfully every single scene was written. Everything had impact. Everything mattered. Everything had purpose, everything led to more development to more perfect scenes to more captivating interactions I am utterly stunned at how real everything felt and how natural every aspect of their progression was. I would squirm like a little girl throughout basically every romantic scene, I would go to bed thinking about this show and wake up doing the same. Never has there been a better written romance.
The animation was perfection. Everything was so vibrant, so full of life, so purposeful especially during the romantic scenes. Everything felt so alive and immersive and I have never felt so excited for every single scene before. The art was gorgeous, the way the characters were drawn in important moments and even just the backgrounds and environments filled me with awe. Everything felt so cute yet so serious, so incredibly vibrant I was just lost for words.
The jokes and overall vibe throughout always hit no matter what, this anime absolutely delivers all you could possible hope for and then goes far far beyond that. Episodes would have me laughing out loud, nearly crying from emotional overload, squirming from pure overstimulation, shaking in my chair because I was so excited to see what would come from certain scenes. I truly cannot put into words the feelings this anime gave me. I loved every character, all the side characters served such a great purpose to the plot, everything was so perfectly crafted every interaction had meaning every scene brought something new and interesting and important to the plot there was no filler there was nothing wasted they just developed everything exactly how a viewer would have wanted. I have never rewatched so many clips on youtube before I have never rewatched so many episodes before so many highlights I am absolutely and totally in love with this show.
Overall this was far and wide the best romance I have ever watched and one of the best pieces of fiction I have watched period. An absolute must watch. A life changing piece of media just the most adorable thing I have ever witnessed in my 22 years on this planet. The easiest 10 I've given in a long time. Perfection.

Boku no Hero Academia 6th Season was such a huge step up from the previous two seasons, and it's not like I didn't enjoy those either but the tone this season was totally different and really surprised me. It was so much darker, so much more serious and man the stakes are just getting ever higher. It was brutal it was scary it was intense and they really handled it all well, especially Deku's character and the crazy development he goes through, those final few episodes were so emotionally loaded and really delivered on the payoff.
I really like in particular how they handled Deku's
...
power this season, without spoiling I really didn't think they'd be able to justify all that happens but man they do and honestly those scenes are my favourite parts of the show it's so damn cool and so interesting to learn about it. There were some moments this season I had really been waiting for that I sort of predicted would happen, and I can confidently say they unfolded exactly how I wanted and I was really happy with those scenes. Overall this was definitely one of the best seasons so far and I cannot wait for season 7!
