I haven't been interested in manga in quite a long time. The reason being is that there isn't much out there that is novel and pushes story telling in a direction that only a medium like manga can...
I was quite taken aback when I started reading Real. The story itself is incredibly original and risky as we are introduced to the world of wheelchair basketball which in itself I have no interest whatsoever.
The appeal of the entire manga to me were the characters and exploring what pushes us to overcome soul-crushing obstacles. It is an incredibly sophisticated and touching story. Real takes

In order to watch this film one must first complete the series. As the movie would become very confusing.
For those of you who have already seen the series, then you know how many people were extremely disappointed with the 2nd season. Throw common sense out the window. The movie, much like the 2nd season in the series, is over the top with its action. The movie stays true to the series with a few changes and added bonuses. Overall, the movie kept me entertained and was a fun watch. Nothing special. My rating: 7/10

In my reviews I do not like to go over the plot in much detail. The movie is based on long distance relationships.
I am usually not a big fan of movies or shows solely based on romance but this movie is really an exception. The art is amazing and the story was touching. The series or movie is very short. Even if you are not a fan of this type anime I would highly recommend this show. Who knows maybe you will have a change of heart like me? Not to say i'll be watching this type of anime more often or anything. Don't ...

I really expected more from this anime. Maybe that was a problem. I came expecting the series to be amazing.
Things I disliked from the anime was the predictable plot, the horrible romance, and bad action sequences. However, the main character's are interesting and the dialouge between them is funny at times. The way the story is told is confusing at first but somehow manages to make it work. By far the best thing about this show was the characters. :D Overall, the anime was entertaining but not a masterpiece or a perfect 10/10 like people have been saying. It is highly overrated. I really hate going into the plot on anime as I like to keep it a mystery. True the manga and anime are very gory. The action is bloody with a lot of body parts flying around. So if you have a weak stomach uhhhh you should probably avoid this anime.
Okay now that the warning is over, I loved this anime. Despite the gore, this is probably the best characters ever created. It has a lot to do with psychology and personality disorders. Every character is extremely flawed. The action scenes are intense and the romance is just tear dropping. Hopefully, you won't shy away ... |
