It would seem people are calling this series problematic because of the apparent bullying happening every episode and called it a horror.
And it surprises me to no end how there exisst people who would leave out details that were given such attention to show a much different story they are getting out of it.
Yes, this series was really close to having its main theme being that kid who was bullied actually thought he was in a love comedy or some such. Save for one thing: the bully knows when to pull her hand out.
That's right, Nagatoro was shown to be a gentle girl

right in the first episode by how she took care of the so called virgin of a wimpy the kid as he started crying being told things he didn't enjoy. She stopped the so called "bully" the moment the victim started crying, and even tried to comfort him.
Then, the bully keeps going. Nagatoro and her friends keep bringing troubles to Senpai/Paisen. And she was shameless enough to even act as if he was her prey exclusively. At one point, she even said something like Hachiouji was destined to be devoured by her. Such horror. Only those who love being scared or super masochists whould ever find such action funny and want to be in there.
Yes, it would seem so, if you only pay half the needed attention watching this entire 12 epissodes.
Although being one of the infamous "gal" who are the opposite and would often bully gloomy kids, Nagatoro's meeting with Hachiouji sparked an unexpected chemical reaction. She actually made Hachiouji, who never states his mind, act how he wanted to. And very intentionally so. She kept hitting the pride of a wimpy kid, made him take action little by little. Through doing so, Nagatoro actually nutured an artist who could talk back and even made himself recognized by the "art woman" or as she's introduced, the club president of the art club.
Hachiouji was unsure of himself. Couldn't state his mind. Turtles up as he gets bullied. And have always gotten through things by staying silent.
But after meeting Nagatoro, he gains the ability to work toward something he believes in, talk back at people, and even went so far as to step in at the moments where he should. He also did realize what he wanted and while having no confidence put his best into protecting something important to him, or at least, tried doing so.
In short, Hachiouji became such a capable person just because of his meeting with Nagatoro and being around her. The wimpy kid went and got himself transformed into the so called "real-juu", having fun every day.
Though the story wasn't that good, or anything you can say would be on the high ends of anything, the enjoyment is nothing to sneeze at. How could it not be? This is the story of a bullied who started to enjoy life outside of consuming entertainments.
In conclusion: I WANT TO BE BULLIED BY NAGATORO.

This review contains heavy spoiler, but more like half way spoiler so not much is going to be spoiled.

I can only say: This series tries too hard to look hard boiled and grim.
Summing it up, it's a post specially modified soldier from a great war being the main character. And he has a revolver for a head. Not a bad setting, if I got anything to say about it at all.
However, it went off with too many themes after that. And spoiler alert, those are basically: victims of some overshadowing corporates, a ghost of old war, people trying hard to live but place the
...
wrong bet and such. Well, they are not bad if it tries to be episodic. Yet, the plot keeps getting pushed forward with all kind of introduction.
But even with all that introduction, there's nothing to see in character development. Soiler alert again: the kid stays the same thoughout 12 episodes, and he didn't even get to do shits to develop anything with though. The gun head got something dark going on, but it only knocks on the series a little bit, before going away again.
Talking about "a little bit before going away", that's pretty much how it goes with whatever happened in this series. Corporate's hunting escapee ends right in first act, after a fight and a busted pair of "tool"s, war crime related soldiers start talking about what the sacrifice for a war they paid but then got shot a little and both went silent, of course, no one say shits about it anymore, some old accquaintance got introduced as though it's going to continue (which I think it will) but never shows shit for the rest of the season. The only thing doesn't seem to go away was a little something from episode 12, which is the last one so yeah, it's not like just indication means much at this point.
Talking about episode 12. What the hell? Why did it revert to episodic after a grim reminder of the past? Another request, another little girl needed to be saved. And really, it's kind of cheap plot to say a partner of the father deceive the daughter to gain something her father left behind but then shows his true color right after being revealed. And it's the plot for the freaking last episode. Well, if the series was all episodic, that kind of episode is acceptable. But it wasn't. We were like, walking on some grand cruiser half way, but had to sit on a 2-men boat to get to the shore for the last 100 miles/km/which ever unit of length goes. It breaks the chain of event, and doesn't even mean much.
I understand that the series is continuing, so these might just be like a long series got cut off into different season. But come on, while so many series work as though they are going to end after 12 episodes, when they get 24 back to back, this one doesn't solve a thing left in the season. Everything got cut off as some dark force is manipulating it.
In conclusion, the series tries hard to look cool, hard boiled and smart, but it doesn't sold a thing and leaves lots and lots of stuff related to main plot unsolved. While nothing you can't enjoy if you shut your brain down, it's definitely not something to be called good, let alone score high at all.

I'm not going to write too much on this, but let's say, I have gone and read the Manga adaptation first, thanks to not getting my hands on the spin off novel, and to be honest, I'm disappointed.
The first thing I am disappointed about is the speed how things happen. If you read the Manga, or the original novel, you would see that the later part (or the later half, even) takes place in a much longer time than what is shown to us. Thanks to them trying to speed things up, though I don't know what happened, but they literally killed off the

existence of so many characters with hella good character development. And some deaths that I have to say was so heavy were made light off to the point of none existence. Yes, they cut off some deaths and what comes with those deaths. But well, this happens a lot, and I don't think I can blame the production team for it. Let's say this is inevitable.
But then, they made some key characters some shallow shounen-types. The whole struggle, with all 3 Bell Cranel, Ais Wallenstein and Lefiya Vildris get cut short. I mean, the key points are there, yeah, it's good and all, but the one thing showing the struggles of there 3 are nowhere to be seen, not that I can call what was shown as a struggle. Lefiya Vildris' sub plot with another elf too, it lost too many details it's seems too easy to be something as deep as I thought reading the Manga.
Lastly, the needless details. Well, I don't mind them that much. Normally, that is. But now, they keep showing some side plot and the obsessive side of characters. Well, it's funny and are services. Let's not take it too hard. But then, they show details that are pretty needless, or are too little to say a thing. Like the interaction between Bell Cranel and Lefiya Vildris for the first time: A small detail was shown, yet, nothing was said about it from the one character who just said something about it 1 episode ago. And there are humors cut shorts too. What I can't let go is the fact they like to put in more fan services than actual humor and plot line details. I just can't stand it.
Well, if I were to say, who ever decided what to adapt or gave a reason to make it so god damned brush over, deserves a punch or two. Bonus a kick if the Anime was made to sell more books. That's all.
P/S: Funny how I gave a series I'm pretty fond of such a low score. Welp, a fuck up is a fuck up. No two way about it.

Ok, let's just jump straight to scoring.
For Story: 6/10.
Overall story is no where to see. It's the episodic kind aimed toward kids under 10 years old. And you will see that it really is episodic. There's hardly any help from the experiences protagonists gained from previous episodes. Rather, it seems the protagonists aren't even needed for the story line to happen. They didn't do much each episode and most of the story line just move on, without much need for them. You often see people saying the protagonists need to be put in certain background/story line to shine, but yeah, that ain't happening with

Character: 5/10
Character developments happen so suddenly, not everything is explained to satisfactory, 1-dimensional characters trying hard to look like they are more than just that and etc. They kind of like giving characters weird verbal tics too. From the girl in bottle with a "nanodesu/nanodesuyo", the merchant "jamo" and stuff. Really, it's rather silly.
Art: 6/10
Not too bad, but as I said with story, it seems like it's made for kids under 10. The color is bright and straight up colorful. Always lighthearted even when it gets dark. Quite the feat if I get to say anything. But for those who have seen stuff like Violet Evergarden or just Kino no Tabi, it's really is just a kids' show.
Sound: 7/10
To be fair, the sound effect and sounding overall is rather kiddie. Like those you can find in any kids' show out there. However, the soundtracks have wonderful and at times, powerful melodies. It's funny how something like a kids' show can be so powerful when it comes to soundtracks.
If you are going to pay attention to the details, Merc Storia is rather low in production qualities, that's a fact you can't deny, even if you like it so very much.
However, once you get through that, you will find the kind of heartfelt stories you truly have to go on journeys to actually find. Like the protagonist, Yuu grew through his journey, from a scaredy cat jumping at the sight of a monster to a young man who is able to influence people into seeking their own journey, he grew up so fast, you don't even know exactly when and how he grew up as a character (well, you can, but that's because you can watch back) - going on journeys can help you grow before you know it too. This journey might not need to be an actual journey, you just need to try something new to then one day suddenly feel like you were doing things you never thought you could do.
Or your journey could just be listening to people around you. You will hear bad stuff and tiresome growls a lot. But in the end, if you listen carefully, it's rather heartwarming to almost every one of them.
That's pretty much what happened in Merc Storia. The protagonist Yuu went on a journey and get to see and listen to so many heartwarming story. It's very much like life itself, you pay attention once, you see it dark, but if you pay attention twice, it might be the most beautiful sight you can ever imagine. It's lighthearted. It's the kind of adventure to heal you up. And it's the kind of story that can be easily overlooked.
That's how something so low in production value gets a 9 on Enjoyment and overall scoring from me.

"There will be times when you realize you won't regret that one choice you made"
That's exactly what went with me for 3D Kanojo: Real Girl.
I never really started with the original work in Manga form so I can't really say anything coming from the original work. But if you can see this review and the one I wrote on the first season or first 12 episodes, you will see me bashing down on both of them for bad execution of work.
The first thing ever to hit your eyes would be art and animation. And boy, is it bad with this series? Just as with the

first season, art style is generic, background and foreground barely fit, characters' animation and movements are as bad as ever, the pinkish tone is still there and even got worse during the wait. There is now even some kind of high lighting that makes most scenes hard to see. Then blurry outline frame in yellowish light and shoujo manga bubbles everywhere.
Sound and frame matching is luckily or unluckily still that bad. But the voice acting is now, strangely enough, felt more realistic than I thought it was in first season. No. It's still not expressive, as ever. But it's realistic. Like what your conversation in real life would be like. So now it's a good point, you idiot of a reviewer? Make up your mind. And of course, I chose that it's actually good. Exactly because of that, every conversation starts to sound serious and important, despite the rush in execution of plot line. Every line in character speech feels like it has a better purpose than just being there. Of course, this doesn't quite apply to comedic cuts. Still not good enough to redeem for the bad on art though.
This series only redemption is that its story and plot line was relatable. You might laugh at me later down in this review, but it sure is relatable.
Now, with a second season, that story line, however mediocre it was, has new drops and tit bits that doesn't let you think back to your own experience. (FROM THIS POINT ON, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU CAN SKIP ABOUT 2-3 PARAGRAPH TO SKIP THE SPOILERS).
Pretty early on you see new thread of romantic relationships other than just that of protagonist and main heroine like with protagonist parents, his otaku friend, his best female friend (sounds sexist), his brother and at pretty late point in time, you see a by no mean to-mean-anything-marriage-relationship of a man without a face.
If you have a family and you are the passive type of human, protagonist's parents and faceless man's should be your marriage in a way (says a guy with no experience in marriage at all). You didn't 2 didn't get married to each other for no reason after all, just talk it out and it might solve any kind of problem, as long as you are still sincere.
The school life romantic threads are not much to say but their development makes you scream (or to be exact, made me scream) "Ah! Youth!". Though I never did experience a romantic school life, I can see the worries, the change of view in the world around, the change of thinking in each thread easily. That makes them, while not too good and might not be requited, still something precious.
Then lastly, main line of thread, the 3D, the real girlfriend romantic thread with protagonist. If you care to pay enough attention, you might have picked up on the strange 6 months period of romance set at the start of the series. It's nothing new. But the depression of "she didn't dump me, that's the thing that stings the most" is just so real for something made for this series' typical length. It hurts, but it's exactly why you have to keep standing firm on your feet, start walking onward and wait. Wait for whatever might come, you forgetting, you deciding to stop being the kid who was in that pain anymore, or hopefully, something good... And something good happened, right at the time every other step was taken, and protagonist was almost giving up and decide to let it all be just parts of his past youth. Main heroine came back. And now, with both men who were never fighting for her let her choose without forcing themselves onto her to reach the final happy ending where friends are reunited, love ones are bound together. And then, they lived happily ever after.
Isn't that just what you want to see? Isn't that just what you want to experience once in your life. It's beautiful. But it's beautiful exactly because it's not something will happen to you. In the end, I as a reviewer still can't win against the fact it was a beautiful mediocre story about love, romance and marriage. It still won't change the fact I was pretty satisfied with protagonist's decision to walk on, yet unable to move on though. That's the beautiful thing in romance. Once you get into it, you can never really get back out. 10/10 for enjoyment.

Just a warning note, I knew of the game and have played it at the time of its release. However, even though I did enjoy and see great potential in its story line, I still dropped playing the game pretty early on since I saw no chance of an ending to the game's plot. This review will be heavily affected by that experience.
Also, this review will have heavy spoilers for the series and only serves as a view to it instead of a conclusion. If you really want to know what it's like, try the series out anyway.

For the first thing, as I mentioned

above, I saw great potential in Grimms Note story line.
Like you would have seen it many time in the Anime had you run through it once, basically, everyone has a book telling them what will happen in their life that only they themselves can read at birth. But there are times when exceptions do happen and our main protagonists and main antagonists are such exceptions. They have no written fate, allowing them to travel through the thick fog existing somewhere in their worlds and they can become any hero they want to fight the chaos of wherever they set foot to.
Basically, they are the travelers, the adventurers in many of the "Isekai" motif series. This already implies a lot of things the moment it was introduced in the game: you, as the protagonist can be anything, can be a hero anywhere you go to, be anyone you want to which is the one thing almost no other can do. You are nothing, but you can be everything exactly because you are nothing, as long as you choose to do it. It's a rather up lifting way to see the plot. But then, if you look at it differently, it seems as though you can never really be yourself, always borrowing someone else's life to talk as your own, to act as your own. Then is it anything really good? You have no role in life so it's like you can't do anything for other people. You can choose anything you want to be, but it's always limited to what you know of, so it's not exactly like you have control over it either. Such dilemma can lead to a number one story line and this and that....
Yet.
Yet, both the Anime and the original game chose a different approach to it. They want to repeat similar stories that have already succeeded in the past instead of making something new. But well, it's not exactly bad either since for an online game, repetitive is actually helping it to stay afloat to users.
But for an Anime, it really kills off possibilities unlike the game. It was not any thing as atmospheric like in the game. It has a too repetitive and boring start that you can't exactly hope for anything at the end. And it played true since "every" episode was a different folk tale or well known tale somewhere right up to even last episode. Episodic as you might call it. Well, it's an online game adaptation. It should do something that isn't breaking the original game's lore. What's with the cliched protagonists and antagonists.
But wait? Antagonists? Oh, right, the villains who keep bringing Chaos Tellers into a Story Zone to interfere with its story, its fate and ultimately, break them. Hm? Their motive? Well, let's see.... To fight back, to struggle against the cruel Story Teller who bestowed upon them, them all, all characters, blank or filled, a fate that keeps repeating. Red Riding Hood has to be eaten by the wolf, Cinderella bullied and driven like a slave but still might not find happiness in her marriage with the prince, John Silver has to live the life with dreams never coming true, Snow White being fed a poison apple and forgets all the love she was given so she execute the queen in the most cruel way just to become that same queen and be executed the same way by a new Snow White, Snow Queen living all alone in her cold, cold castle of ice and solitude where she is the queen, the oni and the humans can't stop killing each other and any rich will corrupt the most gullible person, Aladdin obtains wealth, power and even women to end up becoming the sultan he fought, Jeane d'Arc fights for France but then abandoned and burned to death and Jabberwock doesn't even have to himself a proper existence. The cruel in all those story is what they fight against. And they fight to defy the Story Teller, they fight to "Rebel Against the God". They fight for the equality to those characters who has the shorter straw. They fight for the have not. So that makes them righteous... I guess.... Despite the damage they might, might have and will cause.
Wait? They are right? Does that mean we should side with them? No of course not. They still cause worlds, or Story Zones to collapse after all. All of the cruelty still doesn't justify an even bigger cruelty: making worlds with people living in it collapse that cease to exist. So, that's why they can not win, that why protagonist, despite all the bad thing happened to them, with only a little kindness shown to themselves, they will fight for the lives of many, even if it means trampling down on lives they might have saved or even actually saved for real.
Oh, now that's a great dilemma. Only thing is that it takes too long to see and even with the hints here and there, it's still not very convincing.
So, for the least, the plot was actually good.
But the execution of story line was terrible. Most the stories are crammed into only 1 episode. Every hint of character backgrounds were told out loud and easy to understand despite how deep their problems are. Even the plot twist at the end is just a case of Deus Ex Machina, despite being a real shocker.
Everything else was rather generic. The art and animation was clean enough. Voice acting although still don't quite sound convincing and keep cramming punch lines here and there, still good enough. The music was actually a let down since they use new pieces of music for opening and ending and only use the game main theme, which was exceptionally good, as inserted background music.
Wait a minute!!! The game main theme song? Now that I think about it, Wasureji no Kotonoha really just fits in with the Anime, more than what I feel of how it fits to the game. Oh now that was clever. That actually makes more sense now. As the thought struck me, the whole series became rather clear. It was another stupid ass message but still a multi-layered message of of stupid ass messages.
So, to repeat myself, if you really want to see how it is, try the series out. And if you can, try out the game main theme song too to appreciate the series a little bit more. It's Wasureji no Kotonoha and should be available somewhere since it's the internet.

To start off, unlike the previous review, this is a completely biased opinion of mine that will reflect how I feel on this series. This review will contain spoiler to a certain amount. I can't say how much, but it will.
Kumika no Mikaku, or Kumika's Taste is very much a food Manga while being not about food. As you can see, it involves food, eating and food appreciation through out from the start to the end, true to its name.

things to grow up. As you see very soon after the series started, the fool Kumika Hality was bland, too focus on work, overly serious and very much anti-social. That was until there was this guy who took the advantage of her when she caught a cold to poison her with the evilest of all thing: good food! How despicable. That drug called food was taking over the fool with joy for the first time, she then started to eat more and more, blowing lots of the money she made onto food even though she originally only need to breath to sustain her life. The more Kumika the fool keep eating, the more she's unable to get away from that devil's drug called food. She did feel sorry for her parents at home for eating the food they can't have, guilty for eating away lives somewhere among her... How truly evil! To top it off, the guy who poisoned her started doing it all because he has that selfish lust after her. What can be more evil than that?
But... There is a catch.
Kumika the fool learned the taste of food. She then started to open up to her co-workers and they openly accept her. She took the first childish steps into a world with color, with more emotions, with worries, with happiness, with laughter, with love. She started to notice more about what is around her. She learned that eating is to take lives into yourselves and started to appreciate food. She learned to cook and season her life with the spices she has. She noticed her neighbor works just a floor under her. She reached out to a stranger. She taught someone else how to cook. She was able to confess her love to the man she was in love with.....
The fool started her journey. And she reached a place she never had the idea she would reach one day.
Like the previous review mentioned. This Manga has a lot of a josei (targeted at mature women) Manga. It was so expressive in its art while staying rather simple throughout ever page. It's like you can feel the joy of the main characters, especially Kumika, as they taste the food which might have been ordinary to us with joy and to be honest, I was drooling during my read too. The way each food gets described and their taste as well as how they are made are so simple, yet so magical it feels like I was reading a fantasy instead of reading about food you can get in restaurants. There was this child like unsettling feeling inside me urging me to get that exact same food right there and then.
Its food is so, so expressive and seem so good. Yet, the reaction is not over the top like in other food Manga like Shokugeki no Souma. It doesn't feel out of place because the one reacting is an alien who didn't know anything about food! She reacts to the food with every emotions she can express and with everything she learned the previous days.
It's really like a joy watching a child learning new things and growing up. The kind of subtle joy any working adult might appreciate.
Overall. Kumika no Mikaku isn't that impressive of a Manga series. But in the mini adventure it is, in only 1 year, it gives you a kind of joy and appreciation you might never have realized in your daily life. While not that good. It was certainly enjoyable. 10/10 for enjoyment.

For all bashers. I'm not going to brand you as not understanding anything, but hell, you need to know better in order to enjoy some of the stuff around you. Seriously, I mean it.
Ok, as top review already pointed out, this series was originally a series of pointless artworks drawn by Himura Kiseki on his Twitter account (@strangestone), Monday Morning Offering, as he named it. It's basically just girls, with a huge set of breats, in all kind of poses wearing pretty much just a pair of skimpy bikini or other provocative garments to be something for working salarymen look forward to on Mondays.
But then,
...
in the 33th one of the series, Himura seemed to start developing a story around a girl later known as "Ai-chan" or the girl at the station. And then, by 36th piece, she became a main character in the series with several more characters. He also published some amount of compilation artwork in a doujinshi published in Comic Market 89 at the end of 2015 by the title of "Getsuyoubi no Tawawa". In that book, he made a little side story to the end which became the first episode of these shorts.
After that, the series on Twitter continues, as well as a compilation every Comiket ever since, which means it's about 3+ years already (review written in 3/2019).
I'm not going to say much about its content anymore since there isn't that much to talk about. It's basically a working adult man relationship with a big-breasted cute/beautiful girl and the lives around her. And there are several pairs at that.
If you follow the series on Twitter, or see the compilation somewhere (I would recommend Danbooru, however cancer you may see the website), you should know how well written, well developed, heart warming daily (or weekly) modern day life. It's even more interesting to see how it keeps referencing back tracks while keeping track of real life time too.
In short, it's not very good. But since these shorts are only starting line, you should dig somewhat better to fully appreciate it.

Well, first thing goes first. I was baited by the word "bunny girl" and the "bunny girl" was indeed worth the bait.
But no, I didn't just get to know this series when it was announced to get a TV Anime series. I saw it first in form of Manga though, not the novel series. So, to an extend, it would be safe to say, this review goes for that Manga series too. And this review might contain some spoiler.
My very first impression was: "Ah, so that's about a girl losing her own existence" and basically didn't feel interested in seeing what was going to go
...
on after that because I knew fully well how it could and would, which turned out to be the exact way how it went: The guy just suddenly recalls her, yells out his love and the girl comes back to existence. Which I must say, I guessed it from experiences with stuff of the similar nature I read/saw in the past, which, I can't recall of any example right now. And since I only read up to about when the guy start to get the idea that sleep is what makes the girl's existence gone in the Manga, I didn't care about what could go on later since it would be them either trying to gain back her existence or just keep flirting all day was my guess. WAS.
Seeing how so many people talk about it when it got an Anime, I was curious to actually how it might have gone on to actually get an Anime.
To my surprise, it was better than I thought. No, not how that bunny girl existence was regained. It was actually a let down. I was talking about what went on after that. Another case, and yet another case then yet another case. And as I heard from Gikguk, it was more than just "bunny girls". It was about accepting and getting over problems at the time you'd feel the worst and the best in your life, your period of adolescence.
Basically, problems happen, you might want to run from it, which causes some inexplicable phenomenon to happen. And then, protagonist's quest to deal with those phenomenons.
The content there in and of itself is boring and let's set it straight, pretty shitty. But character building and development was actually great! A girl afraid of what might come but accepts it so the only one there for her doesn't suffer anymore, a good girl trying to fit in with people and too hard, afraid of people hating her, a girl afraid of being alone, a girl looking up to someone and suffers from pressures of all sort. Then lastly, a girl, a small animal like girl trying to recover from her trauma, knowing the risk. Those characters were so likable. Of course, that's you, that's me, that's us in our lives. If we don't like them, we have bigger problems than just a boring bait-and-switch series of novel, Manga and Anime.
Of course, the greatness here isn't in only the girls. Protagonist was portrayed very vividly even though his way of living is hard to come to term with, well for normal folks, I would guess. I myself liked how he is, deadpan, likes to joke, reaches out with little thoughts and actually leaves the actual thoughts to when he needs to act. His way to act was strangely agreeable and without flaw, which in turn puts me off. But given the settings of his, you can see how he must be careful with all choices and then end up getting along with the choices.
This was about the only thing great about this series, except for the cute girls.
That's right! There were like, only girls having problems and then they were at 1 point or another, get their face shown in protagonist's house. Reading to this, you will think this is another harem trash. But no, it's not. It really is about people having to cope with what comes their way. Protagonist was faithful with the first girl through and through. Another was holding feelings for him and he rejected it. Another was his friend, who has feelings for another friend of his. Then another, we don't even know if she actually exists. And then, people might say it's incest bait. Seriously, I want to know if they really did watch the series properly. There was no harem (2 girls doesn't count, I believe), there was no incest, there was no pedophililing anything. To be frank, I and my little sister do sleep on the same bed from time to time, even if she's now a college student and I must admit, quite cute for someone I got bored from seeing their face of for more than 19 years.
Then, it wasn't just girls who got into problems and stuff. Protagonist, as I see is another case of the same phenomenon. This, I won't know until I read the next book of the novel where the adaptation stops or see the next movie. But there are hints pointing that way to me. Which makes me rethink about how characters were the only thing good....
Yep. There are many bones to pick with this series, but I would think anyone rating it low saying it's boring or just stapling tropes should check up in mental hospitals or brain medical centers first and rerun the series. It's not bad at all, but not so much to be at the top. However, I can assure that it's can be enjoyable.

As most of the high ranking reviews made this series out to be either mediocre or just decent, I think I need to do it some justice, for anyone cares enough to go down the list. And so, there will be some minor spoiler, but as those are going to be key points for me, I think you need to be warned.
First thing first, for story line, Irozuku Sekai no Ashita Kara (I'll be calling it with just Irozuku, instead of any official abbreviation it might have) is not all that good. You basically have 5 threads that went down the series, that's pretty impressive

for a series lasting only 13 episodes, I think. But, if you really look at it, it's not really anything new. First thread, time travel and the inevitable outcome of it. Second thread, magic and what comes with talent in magic (or anything for that matter). Third thread, character's disability (might sound overboard, but that's the best word came to my mind). Fourth, worries about what to do in future for young ones. Fifth, romance.
It's nothing new really, you might even compare them to many other series, such as Nagi no Asukara, as I saw someone people noted. But, the way those threads were woven into each other was actually great to me, at least.
Female lead/main character/protagonist is basically, disabled as in she's unable to see color, and you can see why right away, she's shutting herself out and always seems gloomy. One day, she just got sent off to the past for almost no reason but to satisfy another character's wish. Really, it was arbitrarily done. The reasons didn't get to be revealed until last episode too. But heck, there are other ways to perform therapies. Yes, the reasons has "recovery of ability to see color" for the protagonist included. But sending her back to the past using magic and force your past self to research the magic isn't quite the best way to do it, really. And it wasn't even revealed by words as protagonist realizes it too. That really kills off any adventure's purpose set for character development. But then, it springs several more threads into existence to keep the series going.
Romance, the one thing you can't seem to get away in works with a female lead. Protagonist being a time traveler, a magic user (or mage), a disabled, and a meek, beautiful girl is like a flag for romance from the get go. And of course, you see 2 guys in that kind of relationship with her, as in 2 guys have feelings for her and actually competed for it, kind of. A simple shoujo romance went down, with happy ending to the relationships. Yay, good thing, right? It's not explicitly shown, but you can really see how it plays out for the characters, which is nice. Just nice. But then, the dilemma is that the convergence of time flow will not allow alteration. Stein;Gates viewers might have seen enough of that, really. So, friendship, romance and all that junk will have to go to the dustbin for 60 years. Suck to be them. However, that's the beauty of it. Like in 5cm/s, it's beautiful, but unrequited. Yet, they still reach out to each others, still cure each others' illness/disabilities.
Yes, disabilities. I did say they have disabilities. Not all of them, but they do. Yamabuki Shou was a blockhead while being sensual and it hurts him, it's a minor disability and you can live with it. Kazano Asagi, she's meek and inactive. It hurts her too, in lots of way. Kawai Kurumi, she's nothing special while everyone else is. It doesn't hurt her, but it brings her down. Aoi Yuito, talented, but isn't motivated and actually feel repressive on his favorites. Tsukishiro Hitomi, talented but it leads to a trauma for her and directly caused her to become actually disabled. These are what happen to youngsters. Basically, this is where the messages are. And also, the basic solution is "to find the right person to help you". Nothing I didn't see before.
But, it's refreshing how the problems arise and resolve so naturally. 2 guys competing over 1 girl, 1 confesses and shot down, the other takes sometime to know he's winner and confess. Worries about future eased up by people who cares about you telling it's fine to take it easy to think. Friends who are rivals in love go back to good friends for knowing how it goes with each other. Love and encouragement last through time so the two can bring happiness to each other. How happiness is more than just happiness. It's actually very philosophical how problems are solved. I still don't sit well with how a mutual love became unrequited romance, but it's beautiful too so I guess it's fine.
Writing up to this point, I kind of lost track of what I wanted to say, but to sum it up, Irozuku was an enjoyable series to me with how well stuff are related, how it's not hard to see myself in there, how realistic its depiction of relationships is, how "beautiful" every emotion, feeling, piece of memories can be... It's not bad, it's not good either, but it's somehow strangely soothing once you went through it. Personally, I wouldn't really recommend Irozuku to any young viewers though. Because it's more of something older people can understand. But, it should be a good series to younger viewers (around highschool, college), though they might not like it the first time around unless they can relate themselves hard with it.
