I know this is a premature review but I figured since no one else bothered yet, I would give a rundown of why I dropped it.
Basically the author rushes everything. I feel like I am covering 10 chapters of material in a single chapter.
That story just isn't built up properly. The author drops bombshells in chapter 1.5 that shouldn't be dropped until he's had at least 10 chapters of build up. Buildup is important and this author rushes to the big reveals a chapter in.
The characters also try too hard. They're the typical cliche character archetypes.

Those can be enjoyable, but I didn't feel like they were done that well here. The author is dropping 5 of them in a single chapter and I haven't warmed up to the protagonist yet, forget all these side characters.

If you can still watch Japanese cliches without cringing, then you can probably enjoy this series. I'm sorry, but I can't. Without the cliches and the dense protagonist, it would be a pretty good anime, but they're there, and I can't pretend otherwise.
Story: 6/10
Incredibly cliche with all of Japan's bad habits firmly in play. Realism is thrown out the window. Coincidental encounters and awkward catchphrases are everywhere.
OMG the opening episodes are painful to watch... It'll have you asking, "Why is the protagonist so dense?", "why is this guy making such an awkward scene in the middle

of a crowd of people?", and finally "why does the protagonist keep going into the same alley with the same three crooks every bloody time through the loop?"
Japan's love of stupid protagonists is without equal... I assume this is them admitting to having kindergarten level intellect. Seriously, the guy figures he's in a fantasy world after three seconds, but it takes him three days to figure out the day is repeating. Even if he doesn't assume it, he could at least guess that it might be happening...
Does this author lack plot so badly that he needs to keep reusing the same three thugs over and over again? The protagonist KNOWS where they are, but he keeps running into them...
Time loop plots are only good if you are capable of a complicated plot which unravels a little every loop. Look at the tv series Daybreak or the fiction Mother Of Learning if you want good examples of the time loop. A plot which takes 3 rounds through the loop to unravel even the most basic of information is not a good one...
Art 8/10
Good production value, but I don't see any of the small details that make for a truly great anime.
Sound 8/10
Good, but it's all very typical voice acting and sound effects. There's no great mood music, there's no original voice talent. It's all the stuff you've heard a million times before in previous anime.
Character 6/10
Dense protagonist front and center... His denseness is proudly flaunted in almost every scene.
Enjoyment 7/10
I had to skip a great deal of content to bypass all the horrible cliches and the protagonist shouting "V for Victory"... The best part of the anime is watching the protagonist die over and over again... I gotta give them credit for that.
Overall 7/10
Good plot mixed with horrible anime cliches... I dropped it at episode 12.

Definitely a worthwhile comedy for anyone who likes "evil comedy". I'm the type who laughs at things like The World God Only Knows, Angel Densetsu, etc. Things that have an element of irony to them or cruel twists or laughing at someone's twisted world views. Something like Gintama I find very boring.
However I felt that the show was overall very crude and I felt that a lot of great plot elements were wasted. Looking at the characters and the plotlines, I thought that they had the elbow room to add a bit of drama to the series, but they

never took advantage of it. I don't know if this is the result of the conversion to anime, but it felt hollow in many places because of it.
The characters are all pretty enjoyable. The morally superior Djinn who always talks of the importance of values over riches to the characters who have absolutely no interest in such things. Rubette who seems to mysteriously follow around Gokudou, (this is one of the unexplored plots to me, it seems to me she considers him a love interest but it never really advances.) Granny who has a tendency of turning up at the end of an arc just to make the main character suffer more. Most importantly Gokudou who cares for nothing but himself. He will abandon his friends in a heartbeat, never willingly risking himself, however he always ends up being cornered and fighting back ferociously.
The art and sound are extremely outdated, but they're from the 90s. It's a good show around yu yu Hakusho's level if you can put up with the dated technology.
Overall it's definitely worth watching. Most of my demerits were because there was the odd cheesy moment, or the dated tech (which can't really be helped), or the unexplored plot points. There isn't really anything I would consider to be a deal breaker, just minor stuff. So by all means watch it.

Definitely one of the more story heavy animes out there. For anyone who's wondering, this is more in the Drama section than comedy. I would almost say it has a similar atmosphere to Bokurano but its not very bleak or anything like that one is.

series, This is definitely one of the better animation jobs. The art is also very realistic. They try and make the characters look like real people. Everything else is personal preference.
Sound 9/10
Nothing really annoying about the sound. They aren't trying to excite anyone, but they aren't doing a bad job either. It's sound that conveys a realistic drama series. That said, I took a mark off because I didn't feel the opening/ending music was anything special.
Character 7/10
Heartseed is definitely the best character, and the girls come off as realistic, but I get the feeling that the boys are underused. That and Taichi kinda sucks, he's probably the biggest flaw in the series. A cliche "selfless guy" character who is overused and solves the other characters emotional problems way too easily.
Enjoyment 8/10
Definitely a drama held up my heartseed's cruel games and the character exploration that this unique show provides. That said, it felt like a bunch of really great ideas strung together without enough forethought. Most people will definitely enjoy it.

First off, don't write this off as a regular ecchi. While it probably is the most perverse shounen ecchi you will see in the shounen category, it actually has an amazing story-line. I mean I actually feel that the story-line was wasted on an ecchi, but then the ecchi was also done amazingly well and originally, and yes that is possible. This author is really REALLY clever.

your jaw will drop to the floor. Not only that but the ecchi is so clever and I don't think any ecchi has actually bothered to come up with so many hilarious ideas in the history of the genre. If you read ecchis for comedy then not only is this probably the most perverse shounen ecchi of the bunch, it's also the funniest. I feel that I can't do this novel justice without spoiling it....

Its a novel, not much art to be had, but there are what looks like computer generated high definition art of all the characters spread throughout the book. One thing that I don't like though is that I think Issei the main character has really generic "shounen protagonist" art. I feel that hes the basic copy and paste image of many B novel protagonists.

Two things I don't like about the characters, I don't really like how restrained Issei is, and I can't help but feel that Rias is lacking as a leader. The problem with Issei is mainly the limitations of it being a Shounen Ecchi, his dream is to have a harem and I feel that whenever he gets close to exploring that avenue, the limitations of the shounen genre suddenly kick in and say "NO SEX FOR YOU!!!". As for Rias I feel that often she overlooks really obvious resolutions to problems.
However whatever I say bad about the characters the overwhelming good side comes and kicks it in the but. The villains and the rivals in this novel are something else. Gotta love old school battle maniacs. There are a lot of them. Great back stories to all the main characters, everyone gets their moment in the sun eventually. Lots of interplay from dozens of different character and they do a really good job on using everyone.

While I spent 50% of my time laughing my ass off at this novel I spend the other 50% buried in the deep plotline. My only real problem is that they spend a little bit too much time playing around with the same ecchi jokes. Every chapter they usually open with Issei in pretty much the same bizarre ecchi situation which usually has a hollow ending as covered in part one of my discussion of characters. It feels like a brilliant author got blackmailed into writing an ecchi and ended up writing a brilliant story then realizing "DAMNIT I HAVE TO ADD TITTS TO THIS!!!".
Overall, its brilliant. Boy or girl you will love it. It's a novel anyways, it's not like anyone actually gets off on those.

Definitely one of the more out there harem ecchi comedy type animes. I read a bit of the manga, and the anime seems to be a fairly accurate interpretation of the manga except its elaborated on quite a bit. No clue about how it is compared to the novel yet.
The comedy types in this show are a combination of nonsense, harem, violence, and embarrassment comedy.
-Nonsense meaning they say weird things which make no sense at all
-harem comedy is obviously accidental groping of breasts followed by a kyaa and a swift dismembering
-violence comedy has a lot to do with the
...
main character being a zombie, since the protagonist can't die they don't hold back on anything
-embarrassment comedy being that the main character gets humiliated in front of his classmates a lot in rather extreme fashions.
The story is alright as I haven't seen them stop introducing core plot throughout the 2 seasons I've seen so far. It seems like they are really tempted to go the route of ranma 1/2 though and just throw random episodes out there which they have done and seem like they are doing more often. New harem members seem to be steadily entering the series at about the same rate they do in Sekirei.
The arts mediocre, usually very little is animated in every scene. Its typical shounen art with high quality images, but the animation is fairly weak. They also take full advantage of the girls to give them super cute scenes which are elaborated on from the manga using really cute art and sound. Nothing breakthrough about the sound either. Pretty standard opening and ending music.
Of course the usual redeeming feature about an ecchi harem story is the characters. This anime truly does paint a wide array of interesting characters from various walks of life with absolutely bizarre backgrounds and personalities. Truly this animes most redeeming feature.
Overall its one of the best ecchi harem animes out there. I would watch this 15 times over before I even bothered looking at To Love Ru or Rosario Vampire.....

Its definitely a breath of fresh air in many aspects from your typical action/fantasy series. Definitely a strong male lead who isn't afraid of harassing the nearby girls. However, it shoots itself in the foot as it feels like we've been shoe horned into a confusing plot line which is described as vaguely as possible to try and make the show look cool.
The characters are definitely the shows most redeeming feature as the protagonist is the complete opposite of the shy ecchi harems you normally see. He is portrayed as a panty snatcher, molester, and peeper in a good light.

Its kinda hard to describe but the girl victims do the kya screams while believing that he isn't really a bad guy at heart. However its merely a fresh twist on an old cliche to be honest. As the show goes on you get somewhat tired of his antics. Its like an original idea that was really poorly done to be honest.
As far as the harem and ecchi bits go, its the picture perfect cliche of the harem/ecchi genres. However like I said, the daring protagonist who openly gropes his harem girls to their chagrin does add a fresh twist to it.
The art and sound is pretty standard. Nothing particularly high tech, but nothing particularly bad either. Basically very little is animated in each of the scenes. Its an ecchi thrown out their because people will buy ecchis no matter what.
The story is by far the worst part of the show. The entire time I watched it I felt like they just threw out one half explained idea after another. They throw in new characters who's back stories are left a complete mystery but they are treated like front row side characters. They add in all kinds of weird plot elements which are never explained past being introduced. The whole thing felt so sloppy I was tempted to drop it half way even though I consider myself to be a part of the niche audience this show was aimed at....

Leader of the big three in Japan. Categorized as consistently getting better with every story arc that passes. Praised for its unique art style which is called both grotesque and absurdly appropriate.
Know this, its a fantastic manga. 80-90% of the people who don't read it are people who were influenced badly by the art or the horrible 4kids dub which destroyed its image or just had trouble getting past the slow beginning. But people who truly don't like the series aren't that common.
Don't judge this one quickly whatever you do. Read 100 or even 200 chapters

before giving up on it. Most people start liking it after the Arlong park arc, and then completely fall in love with it after the Enies lobby arc.
Synopsis: The story is about Monkey D Luffy and his quest to become King of the Pirates by travelling the Grand Line and finding the legendary treasure known as One Piece.
Story: 9/10
Pre-grand line the story isn't really that much and was all just character development. Some very heartfelt and beautiful flashbacks to each of the crew members pasts. They had some horrible incident happen in their lives which made them outcasts, but Luffy recognizes there strength and gets them to join his crew.
When they enter the grand line its still mainly about developing new characters, but Oda starts to tie the world together a little bit. The existence of the forbidden pone-glyphs, the corrupt officials in the world government. All this starts to tie itself together in the grand line.
The story itself is also a real tear jerker. I get lumps in my throat all the time listening to them. Keeping in mind that I am an emotional robot so you will probably end up grabbing a Kleenex.
power-ups I would say are done somewhat poorly. At least the first wave of power-ups during the Enies lobby arc. I would say they are 5/5 for "cool power-ups" and 1/5 for well thought out power-ups. Oda just had them evolve out of nowhere without any foreshadowing. The next power-ups though were absolutely perfect. After the time skip, they had basically been foreshadowing the abilities and changes to the crew for the duration of the manga. Absolutely perfectly done.
Another thing I have been noticing about the story. Oda is actually building towards a sequel. He's left all these hints talking about things the pirate king did and they never go into much detail but Oda leaves it open to be elaborated on in a second one piece manga. Its rather epic and grand when I think about it. That he's already putting together a sequel about the original pirate king.
Art: 10/10
Original art style designed specifically to work with the pirate theme. This turns a lot of people off, but you can't possibly claim that Oda is actually bad at drawing. Looking closely at the pictures there is so much detail in every frame that you can't think that way. Oda is the Picasso of pirate manga.
wonderfully detailed backgrounds. Every frame has them. Lots of manga write off backgrounds and just focus on stunning characters, but one piece gives you both. The backgrounds are simply amazing.
Character Art is off the charts. Every character has his own style too him. All of them are completely original and unique. Even the filler characters look good. One tiny flaw is that usually the female characters are somewhat bland in that they are all knockout babes, but I don't think Oda had much of a choice there given the market, and to be honest he does sneak a lot of ugly females in the back door on occasion.
Character 10/10
Character development is pretty much covered in story and is fantastic. They introduce a character and give them a back-story and continue developing them throughout the series. For instance, Nami's would be weather or not she can overcome what the fishmen did to her village. They never drag the story of one character on either. It's rather elegant.
Enjoyment 9/10
The early story was rather poorly done in comparison with the ladder of the story and you can see the mangaka improves with every chapter. So its hard to get into and like I said before 80-90% of people who haven't read One Piece is because they gave up early on without giving it a chance to improve. IT GETS BETTER!!!!
The action is more of a brawl then a strategy game which is a matter of taste really. Its actually rather easy for Oda not to screw up given the way he's done it.
Comedy is definitely there. Every character has their own quirks which never get old. At first glance they might seem like catchphrases but they are actually much deeper than that. They each have their own funny personality and quirks which play into how they interact with each other.
Overall 9/10
There's really no good way to score One Piece because early on they would rank probably a 7/10 or an 8/10 depending on how much the show suited your tastes, but with the show getting better every season its basically jumped a point every year. By now if I was to judge it just by the last year, I would give it a 15/10... IT GOT FRIGGEN GOOD!!!!

I avoided this manga for so long because I thought it was gonna be a slice of life type manga. The description in the wiki completely misled me. Don't be confused, this is an action manga like One Piece or Fairy Tail. If I was to compare the fighting style to another manga i think I would choose "Get Backers" or "Yu Yu Hakusho" as a comparison. As the fighters use a complex strategy to beat each of their opponents.

Piece where you know there is a history there right from the start of the manga but the author only reveals parts of it. Medaka Box does that but the story doesn't seem to have too much depth so I am docking a point from story for that.
STORY -1 POINT FOR ABOVE REASON
For the first 15 chapters or so the story is about taking student suggestions in the "Medaka Box" and is about the comedy of watching this superhuman president solve each of the problems. Its quite entertaining too and well made. That's only the first 15 chapters though...
After that the story completely changes. I think the mangaka was bored with the idea himself and saw that he had a chance to change it to an action manga. From then on it becomes based on a group of super-humans called "abnormals" trying to use Medaka for their own purposes. In fact the Medaka Box which the manga is named for becomes a joke which is commonly referred to by the series villains "Why don't you leave a suggestion in the Medaka Box" they say.

I liked the characters, each of them have a backstory and each of them have their histories explored a little bit in each chapter. I like how they hint at each character having a history as well right from when they are introduced, but the author only tells you what you need to know.
The reason character lost a point though is that I don't really see how the characters are tied to the main story line. They did very well in that they gave each character an interesting back story, but these back-stories are each independent and don't seem to be related at all.

I have enjoyed every moment of the manga. Nothing bugged me enough to really be worth mentioning. The occasional plot line I didn't like but that's just a matter of opinion.
Oh and theres some good fan service too. Medaka has no problems with walking around in her braw and panties and the girls clothing usually gets torn to shreds.
Overall: 9/10
You can tell its a Weekly Shounen Jump manga right from the start. Everything screams teenage boy. If you like one piece, bleach, Naruto, Get Backers, Fairy Tail, Psyren, Arago, Histories Strongest Disciple Kenichi, etc, etc. Then this is another one for that category. Try it, its pretty good.

With this being cancelled I have to retract my recommendation to read it. The rest of the review after this paragraph is unchanged. This manga was canceled. The scanlators finished working through the first arc of the series so you can see probably get a decent fix of the manga. It didn't have enough of a catch to addict you so it shouldn't be a major problem that the series was canned. I think the problem with the series was the characters as the characters other than the main protagonist were poorly developed. I personally didn't like their character

While I am definitely impressed with this manga you can still see it hasn't found its footing yet. Think back to the beginning of one piece compared to what its like right now. Don't get me wrong I am excited to read this manga and I definitely recommend you read it. Its friggen hilarious and the rabbit is awesome. What i'm saying is that the manga is still evolving and right now you can see that its an Triple A concept, but it doesn't have a story line to back it up yet.
Synopsis:
Hana wants to reboot her image as a failure by doing what she's always wanted to do, which is work with animals. Little does she know that the owner is a cursed rabbit with the maturity of a 5 year old and equipped with super powers at that. Shiina is the owner of the zoo and he was cursed as a child to become a magical rabbit, and to break the curse, he has to make the worlds greatest zoo.
Story:
There isn't really much of a story so far. Shiina is cursed and is trying issue by issue to break the curse by throwing all the work onto Hana. We've had one serious enemy, but I don't see a continuation on that story line given the way it ended. This is where the manga needs work, I can't help but feel that the story needs something more.
Character: 8/10
I would gladly give the character element a 10/10 but quite frankly they haven't been developed enough. They are such a creative and fun idea that I definitely want to rate them highly, but theres not really much character development yet.
Theres not much of a backstory to any of the characters. If the mangaka worked a little bit harder on the characters background I can't help but think it would give direction to the story as well.
The characters themselves are rather fun. Or at least the rabbit makes up for all the rest of the characters. He's funny, compassionate, egotistical, and above all surprising. Because of his rabbit face, all of his emotions show up beautifully on his face in very creative manners which is probably his most lovable aspect.
Art: 10/10
C'mon, theres a reason humanoid rabbits are such a loved character in movies and tv. THEY ARE FRIGGEN AWESOME CHARACTERS!!! The art I couldn't be happier with. As long as they have up to date graphics I give them an 8, if they have well drawn characters then they get a 9, if they have some funny original concept added to them then they get a 10.

A result of the poor characters and story evolutions. Fix those and I will be happy to raise the score here.
Overall: 8/10
Pick it up. I think even girls can enjoy this manga. Its not so much about action as it is about the concept. Anyone can appreciate a genius concept like this one.
