This is a very, very, overused, unoriginal, and tired harem story. Harem story is one term, because harem stories can be very interesting and cool. However, this is one that you could get from anywhere else. There isn't anything new, even with this sort of supernatural-twist that comes with every harem series that has no originality to it.

Despite what Gintama may have you believe, To-Love Ru Darkness is without a doubt a legitimately interesting manga and its story keeps you invested, with good writing to keep you invested. Although this is a stuffed one that can't move forward, with several plotlines going on at the same time and individual chapters dealing only with one (it could probably use a decent trimming of at least some of them), what keeps me reading beyond the T&A is the emotional weight of the story. You already know the story, but the way it is executed is pretty stupid. In fact, there is a lot of stupid in this, especially in the way fanservice is used. There's a scene that uses fanservice in one of the stupidest things you will ever see outside of a Michael Bay film. If you've seen this series, I think you know what I'm talking about. The most notable thing I can make a connection about about it is the use of a Romero-style outbreak. However, I can say that this story has spot-on pacing.
