This is basically Steins;Gate before S;G was a thing. It's not bad, but it really isn't too excellent. With only 2 episodes, it definitely leaves much to be desired. I understand that there really isn't much they could've done with so little space, but it's still just disappointing.
I haven't played the game, but judging from the story here, I'll assume it's at least decent. The art, sound, blah blah blah, are all pretty ok with nothing too special. The characters do act rather stupidly.
Overall, this could've been a decent series, had they made it into one, but that's not the case..

I'm going to get straight to the point. For the most part, this isn't a bad show. Some parts are nice and leave you with a nice feeling. Unfortunately, that's only some parts, while the rest of it is just recaps. Seriously, why are there so many fucking recaps?
I know it sounds like an exaggeration, but I swear half of the show was just recaps. A recap at the beginning of each episode is understandable, but entire recap episodes when nothing much even happened? Bullshit. What is this show about? No really, I'm not all that sure myself. Something about fighting aliens? I really don't fucking know. There were too many unexplained events to make any sense of it all. Everything seemed to just happen, without any reason as to why it happened. The plot seems to just go all over the place, the characters are a mess, and nothing really makes sense. I gave it an extra star just for the musical references.
Being a music anime, you've gotta like music. To like this show, you need to like 90's/00's rock music. Maybe something like Stone Temple Pilots or Pearl Jam. Even if you don't like those bands, you should still be able to appreciate the music. This show shows how a band came together and became famous. Relatively simple, but still great nonetheless. While some plot elements felt a bit useless and often seemed to just fade away, the end result was still pretty good. That doesn't mean I don't have complaints though.. If the creators only decided to sit down for a moment and actually think about what they were doing, maybe this could've been something decent. Just maybe. Every Monday morning, she'd need to read her diary to be able to 'remember' her friends. There's two flaws with this: 1. Most of the stuff she wrote was a bit long and pointless, with every entry taking up at least a page. As time goes on, she'd have to read more and more pages. Think realistically: She's reading this before she goes to school. With all these pages it's going to take quite awhile. Most of the people I know don't have an awful lot of time ...

Maybe I don't know how to rate specials, but whatever.
This was very delightful to watch. With it all totaling up to just a mere 7 minutes, you'll end up wishing there was more. These specials were delightful to watch and provided for some laughs at just how ridiculous it was. I found this more enjoyable than something like Sword Art Offline (which just gave you a bunch of useless information with boring character interaction). When I finished the main series I was a bit worried to see how this would be, but it was a delight. I'm happy to have seen this.
