This is really hard to rate. The characters and story are a lot of fun, the music is fine, but that op and ed slap. The writing dialogue is good, but the world building could use a lot of work, but it's a comedy so it's not like I was expecting an iron tight plot. The voice acting is decent enough in the dub too! The animation is what really lets this down. A couple of the action scenes look really good, but the rest range from average to terrible. The general animation doesn't have a lot of detail, uses some ugly cg, and looks ... like they gave up at times. Despite that, I really enjoyed this anime, and it has a lot going for it. I generally think that anime is kind of trash with a few treasures here and there, but you have to suffer to find them. The bar is not high, yet China both set the bar higher and lower at the same time. On one hand you have a fairly fresh idea, I mean there are obvious parallels to Mob Psycho, but it's different enough that it's not a carbon copy by any means. On the other hand the animation is so bad at times you just go, "Yep, classic Chinese thing you found at the dollar store". It's embarassingly bad. So I want to encourage the writers and staff, but discourage the animators from making anything ever again. Overall, I personally want to see more, but there are only really a couple of scenes worth watching from an "animation" perspective. It's a diamond in the rough, if we could just animate it competently from start to finish, I think this would be a really good anime. From a comedy perspective, it's quite a decent little gem, but overall it's hard to recommend to everyone. 6.20/10 Dubbed

A terrible anime... with some decent animation. The actions scenes are actually decent, the animations style kind of reminds me of 2D fighting video games. It's an interesting way of animating for sure. The backgrounds are occasionally decent, and the characters are really average in the level of detail. That's the end of anything resembling quality. The characters are terrible. Tropey, shallow, and there is hardely any backstory to flesh them out. Speaking of story, the back story to one of the characters consists of literally telling them that their trans and what it feels like to be trans. Then since they are newly trans ... they get invited to the wizard version of an LGBTQ+ club. Like why? Inclusivity is fine, but do it well please. Please... please? The Story overall is pretty much nothing since all but a quarter of an episode focuses on the plot. It's almost entirely filler. The pace of the filler is decent, but still makes the show crawl by given the fact it's filler. The voice acting is grating, and emotionless. The casting is basically whoever could do the job the cheapest. The soundtrack is actually decent, but not scored well. Every scene is this dramatic music that almost never fits. Overall, I hate this anime. It's boring and pandering. I'm not going to sit here and complain about LGBTQ+ chracters, but the fact that there only role in the entire anime is that they are a token... really poor taste. Like when you tell me that a character had their gonads removed so that there voice never changes or mansplain gender dysphoria to "magic trans person", it comes off as pandering. Even outside of these gripes, it's terrible in everyway except the animation which is alright. I evaluated this as a action anime, hence the higher score than it rightly deserves given the higher emphasis on animation as a metric. 4.55/10 Dubbed

All over the place is the best way to describe this anime. The animation is a mixed bag, sometimes being quite detailed, but mostly average. There are also moments where they use zooming to create movement in the shot, which is a bad idea. The image is a fixed resolution so zooming in and out in post creates all sorts of issues. The actions scenes are sometimes decent, but other times agressively average. Characters are the only constant. Constantly poorly written that is. There is some attempt at depth, but it's common for the characters motivations to make no sense what so ever. They're overly ... dramatic even for anime, which I kind of like, but it's not well executed. The story doesn't do a great job of world building given the scope of the world created. The story beats also flop on a regular basis. There is one scene in particular that is suppose to be the main character telling other main character about one of his fears, but the dialogue is so broken it just ends up confused and lame. The pacing is fast, but I think that's what makes this somewhat watchable. The voice acting is incredibly average, and so is the ost. Th eop and ed are actually really good though. Overall, it has some things about it that I really like, but suffers from a lack of any real direction by any metric. 5.65/10 Dubbed

A marked improvement over season one. That's a rarity in anime. Typically they don't improve, but rather nose dive. Animation has more to offer in terms of flashy action scenes, with a couple that stand out. The art work in general is slightly worse, bad cg, but still good character detail and amazing backgrounds. I still feel the characters are lacking depth, but at least we get to wee a little bit more of Will's internal struggles without it feeling completely forced. The world building continues to be one of the best parts of this anime. The story line feels more solid and less of ... the generic isekai we got after arc 1 in season 1. Still a little generic, but better. Pacing is much better, and picks up quite a bit over the last season which was kind of painful after arc 1. The dubbed voice acting I'd say get's slightly worse. I think the casting for Will is not great, but otherwise I'd say it's still fine, but not great by any means. The op and ed remain ill fitting and generic. However, the ost has more variety in it, which is pleasant to see. Overall, it still has some of the same issues as season 1, but reclaims it's stride for the most part. The pacing of this anime is really what will make or break it going forward. 6.75/10 Dubbed

This anime is kind of disappointing in my mind. The beginning arc is great. The action is pretty good, the art work is very good, and I like the pacing and story. The characters are good as well! Then after that it just feels generic for the most part. The action is fine, but not as good. The artwork is still solid, but the overall story and characters just get a lot less interesting. There are some attempts to have some character growth, but it just feels kind of empty. I think it would have hit harder if I had continued to care, but I ... just didn't. The soundtrack is fine, but pretty generic. The op grew on me, but doesn't really fit the anime too well. Same problem with the ed, but it's also kind of generic. This show had a lot going for it, but just failed to continue to be interesting after shifting to the second arc. 6.30/10 Dubbed

Has a lot of the same good elements as season 1, but is overall a worse product. First off there are few action scenes than season 1, which is a shame since the one's that are there continue to impress for the genre. In terms of detail there really isn't much of a change from season 1. More amazing backgrounds and decent character detail. The characters continue to have flaws with background details, but are overall good. Story continues to have decent world building and is well executed. However, the pacing of the first six episodes is slow and is almost entirely filler. The final ... six episodes are much better and save the season. Voice acting also falls on it's face a little. In episodes 9 and 10 Sei's voice actor apparently was ill and they had someone fill in for her. One: switching voice actors at any time in a series is awful and messes with the viewers perception of the character. Two: this is a worse voice actor. Episodes 11 and 12 are back to normal, but the best thing would have been to just delay the release until the VA could recover. Crunchyroll doesn't have a problem doing that for it's own blunders, but when the workers can't work they just replace them... low production value right there. Overall the pacing of the first six episodes and the voice actor change really messes with the tempo and feel of the anime, I still enjoyed it, but a lot less than if more effort would have been exerted to really make it special. 7.10/10 Dubbed

A good anime, with flaws. The animation is one of the highlights of this show, particularly within this genre. There are a surpirising amount of decent action scenes with a good amount of flash to them. The background are amazing in this anime, and the monsters look really neat as well. The character detail isn't high, but it is very clean and expresses more subtle facial emotions very well. The characters are not fantastic, but they are decent. There isn't a lot of backstory to the characters, but the main characters have a fair amount of emotional depth. They really could have fleshed out the ... characters a little better, which is one of the larger issues in the anime. The story is simple, but well executed. Decent world building as well, but not the best. Pacing is very good, not too fast, but it doesn't drag either. The voice acting is a mixed bag. The casting is decent, but there really are not any standout performances either. There are some good performances, just not great. It's competent for a dub, just not great. The soundtrack is amazing, very very nice. The ed is average, and so is the op, although the instrumentals are particularly grabbing. Overall, I think it's a solid anime, but has failed to flesh out the characters and could use some better voice acting. 7.45/10 Dubbed

It's good, but not great. The animation style is very simple, but well drawn and very clean. There really isn't much for flashy animation, but things are very fluid throughout. The characters have some depth and bounce well off one another, but I really would have liked to see them more fleshed out and with more depth. The story is kind of simply, but well executed. Would have liked to see more twists, but overall it's decent. Pacing is solid, and doesn't drag things out like many other anime of this genre. Voice acting is decent, like actually decents not "okay for dubbed" decent. It ... has some, but not amazing emotion and performances, and isn't really grating. Thumbs up for me, but could be better. The soundtrack is interesting using some lofi inspired tracks along with some decent instrumental tracks. The op id good and the ed is decent. Overall, a decent anime. If you like this genre, you'll like this aniome. However, it's really not earth shattering, or particularly unique, and lacks in a few areas. Namely, I would like to need more depth, and some slightly flashier animation. 7.05/10 Dubbed

I think this is my new benchmark for average. It's not awful, but an average anime isn't really worth your time. The animation is cheap. Lot's of cg, none of which looks particularly good. The none cg action scenes are fine, but pretty average. The detail is pretty average overall, but occasionally the character detail is pretty decent. The story has a good premise, and fair world building, but the overall execution leave something to be desired. Pacing is fairly good most of the time, a couple of episodes drag, but overall it's fine. Voice acting is average town, slightly grating, not a ton of ... emotion, but some. So not good at all, but average for dubs :). I actually liked a fair number of the tracks in the ost, and the ED is quite good. The op is kind of generic, but fine. Overall this is the bare minimum to create a watchable anime. Not good, not terrible, but still not really worth your time. 5.20/10 Dubbed

A boring seasonal isekai with a dumb twist. The animation is pretty standard and uninspired. Characters have no depth and are regularly annoying. The story is pretty much of the exact same quality. Voice acting is slightly grating at times, the casting is fine, and there are no stand out performances... so average for a dub. The soundtrack is alright, but not memorable. The op is good but doesn't fit the anime, the ed fits and is decent, but not mind blowing. Overall, not really worth going that into detail about. It's not terrible, but there isn't any reason to watch it. It's literally just ... seasonal isekai. 4.80/10 Dubbed
