Have you ever seen an anime you were convinced was going to be really cool and interesting and only just to have it let you down to no end? Welcome to my experience with Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka. After two episodes which presented a genuinely interesting and refreshing take on the harem genre (interesting takes on mythological creatures, nobody particularly interested in each other romantically, basically just putting up with each other simply because they have to), this series succumbs to the harem tropes it actively avoids and just becomes ultimately a very lazy series.

The initial concept for this show is actually ...

Fractale (Anime) add
As an anime fan, I personally love finding shows that take me completely by surprise. Sure big hype shows are great too, but there’s something about finding an anime with little to no hype that turns out to be amazing that really strikes a cord with me. I wasn’t expecting much from Fractale, but what I found was what is sure to be one of the best animes of the decade and an easy contender for anime of the year.

Fractale is the story of an island governed by the Fractale system, a computer super-program that is worshipped as a religion by the people. ...

Some people may already know this, but the original Evangelion series is my favorite anime of all time. I often consider it and End of Evangelion (yeah, screw the original TV ending) to be landmarks in anime story-telling and character development. When I first saw the first movie in the Rebuild of Evangelion series, I thought it was a great movie, but I thought this new series would never reach the peaks that the original series did. Having watched this second film, You Can (Not) Advance, I revoke that statement. This new series has proved to be just as thought provoking ...

Soul Eater (Anime) add
Mixed Feelings
Soul Eater is about a group of students who attend a school for aspiring demon hunters, Shibusen. The story follows Maka, an scythe weilder and her partner, Soul, who transforms into the scythe she uses. Each hunter is paired with a partner who can turn into a weapon, and the two must fight in unison. The other main characters include Death the Kid, and his weapons Liz and Patty who become twin pistols, and Black Star, along with his partner Tsubaki, who has the unique ability to transform into several weapon types as a jack of all trades. These students as well as their teachers ...

Casshern Sins (Anime) add
Story: The story is a very thought-provoking and great examination of the value of truly living your life, as opposed to passing through it aimlessly. It is about an apparently immortal robot named Casshern, who after killing a woman named Luna, creates the Ruin, a plague that causes the world to die. All life has withered away, and any survivors are on the brink of insanity as they are surrounded by death. His journey to discover his identity and role in this new world causes the robots he comes into contact with to realize the value of our existances and their ...

I'm not going to write about the plot of this movie since its essentially a remake of the first 6 episodes of the show shot for shot but with better animation and crisper visuals. But let me get one thing out of the way first, I FREAKING LOVED the original EVA series. Here we were with our boring and repetetive mech shows, and there came EVA to turn it all upside down along with all of anime. Also, End of Evangelion is not only an anime masterpiece, but a masterpiece in pure animation filmmaking.

I'm going to jump right in and tell whats different in this ...

Mixed Feelings
This is going to be a weird show for me to review, because I'm going to contradict my usual self a lot here. The good things about Dokuro-chan is its comedic writting. It's not really good or anything particurally original by any means, but its SO chaotic its entertaining. Every episode goes from one end of the comedy spectrum to the other over the course of 30 mins, along the way stringing such things like sexual tension between Dokuro and Sakura (...its odd lets just say), weird word phrasings that become disastorous, and blood. Lots and lots and lots of blood. Dokuro has a giant ...

The best thing about 5 Centimeters Per Second is how maturely it handles potentially incredibly sappy material. You really understand why Takaki feels so strongly about Akari simply by watching them together, many times without a word of dialogue. It's handled with such sensitivity that it doesnt come across as puppy love, but instead as real attraction and love between the two. Both characters are flawed, which makes this story all the more believable. The story plays out perfectly, as the different chapters really illustrate the two characters at clearly different points in their lives and how they relate back to eachother. Also, it is ...

Preliminary (3/12 eps)
At this point in the review, I would start naming the good things about the show. Um...Jesus Christ, what the hell is there possitive to say about this anime? If I have to say three things, the animation is way better than this show deserves, and the opening theme is decent, not good, just decent, and the character designs are cute, when they're not being exploited.

Now on to the bad (warning: this may take a while to read, but be assured it will be funny, yet a little repulsive in its details.)

I'm not even going to sugar coat it, this is one of the ABSOLUTE ...

There are quite literally too many good things to say about Gurren Lagann. First and foremost, this series is just a ton of fun. It is always entertaining and always manages to never repeat itself. The animation and action is UNBELIEVABLY FANTASTIC. Its not Gundam or Evangelion type mech action, instead, its more like FLCL mech action. The animation styly is simple and stylized at the same time, and watching it in motion is fascinating and beautiful. Let me put it to you this way, the action is so epic, that the final battle of the series, makes the word epic, sound irrelevant.

Next, the plot ...
