Yasuke has gotten a lot of bad rep. I don’t think its close to one of the best anime i’ve seen nor is it one of my favorite...however I cant help but still recommend it despite that. The show has this aura about it that’s hard to put into words, something about it I just really enjoyed. Perhaps that’s due to the hypnotic score by Flying Lotus, which delivers an opening that I refuse to skip. The OST is incorporated perfectly and is clearly the standout of the show. moments have soothing vibey tracks that can easily put you to sleep at the end of a stressful day. The animation as well is beautiful, and while I dont think it looks as good as a modern traditional anime like Demon Slayer, it has its own style to it that made it really unique..basically as close to traditional artstyle as you can get from an “American” Anime. While I do understand the dislike of throwing mechas and superpowers into a show taking place in feudal Japan, I respect the creativity and felt like the vision of the creator was seen through thoroughly. The story and characters are nothing to write home about, for veterans of anime you’ve seen it before. However, Yasuke and his plight are both likable and relatable respectively. I do wish they didn’t rely too heavily on a mcguffin by the end but it made for some truly stunning action sequences. If you want something more grounded in reality, i’d recommend Champloo or Afro Samurai, but if you want to try something a little different, or you’re just simply looking for something tobwatch outright i’d recommend this to anybody, especially when you’re...medicated so to speak. I ended off feeling satisfied and very open to watching more. The show accomplished what it set out to do with such a short timeframe, and while it may not be the most groundbreaking and high quality story with the best of characters I still think Yasuke is worth watching.

Shokugeki No Souma A.K.A “Food Wars!” Is exactly what it’s title implies. We’ve all been there in the late hours of the night watching Kitchen Nightmares or Master Chef compilations. Combine those with anime, and this is what you get. In all seriousness though, Food Wars is a very rare once in a generation kinda show, there’s just nothing else like it. Ecchi is not something particularly in my range of priority when choosing a show to watch, however here it not only works without compromising the quality of the show...it actually enhances it. You’ll find fan-service in 90% of shows at least once, but

with Food Wars it strikes a perfect balance of using it for comedic relief and to express the characters fruits of labor in a crescendo. Coupe this with a great, well rounded cast of characters and very detailed, well thought out “action” scenes and you have a very unique show that will have you addicted with anticipation to see what happens next. Yukihira Soma, the main character, isn’t just your perfect anime protagonist either which makes him work as the star of the show so well. You can tell right off the bat he’s extremely talented and is confident in his abilities, however he uses his failures as a basis for his growth, which is something shared with some other shounen protagonists but it’s never done quite the same way. He carries the show in a very convincing way, in that you’re always rooting for him to succeed along with his fellow classmates of the elite Totsuki academy. All the other characters and their little nuances are what give the show so much life and personality, each having a very distinct cooking style and memorable traits. However, the main reason the show works so well is due to its signature “Shokugeki” system (food war.) the cooking battles are intense and all presented methodically and seeped in a sense of realism so that you’re actually convinced you can do the same things at home, regardless of how unconventional some of the methods are. The anticipation for the victor will have you on the edge of your seat and eager to see more. Outside of this though, the show still maintains your attention even in the more subtle moments where the characters are doing nothing more than sitting in their dorm drinking rice juice, which is a testament to this great and likable cast of characters. The food has never looked better in an anime before, so do yourself a favor by not watching this while hungry...you will regret it. The OST is lighthearted and catchy, while not being the most memorable of soundtracks in anime it still captures the mood of each scenario perfectly, along with the shows signature “foodgasms” which serve as both fan-service and a way to express in the most extreme way how good the dishes are, giving the show a very unique & memorable style. While the final season leaves a bit to be desired and feels as though it could have benefited from being longer, it does not take away from how good seasons 1-4 are and I couldn’t recommend this show enough.
P.S watch the show in sub, each character is fit perfectly by their VA (and this is coming from the biggest dub stan you’ll ever meet)

Story: Black Lagoon is the brutal en-devours of a mercenary group of the same name revolving around a crew of four who accept work from the different mafia groups in the South China Sea region. That's all it is on a surface level, but however there's so much more to the story which is fleshed out by way of the characters and exploring their minds in depth, whether they're on just another run of the mill job or a life & death situation. Season 1 is mostly just scattered jobs giving time for the viewer to get comfortable with the crew, and slowly flesh out

the world around them with reoccurring resident side characters alike. With the exception of a few extended arcs of 2-3 episodes, the first season is pretty by the books in terms of plot. Season 2 however, changes the pace drastically. unfortunately, While the story-lines of the short arcs get much better and more complex, the show loses focus of certain characters towards the end of its run, which isn't all bad...but it does leave a bit to be desired. That said, I loved the season 2 plot-lines. They told some dark and brutal tales packed with great action and pacing and the ending felt satisfying.
Art: there's not much to say here. The animation is perfectly in line with 2006-9 quality artwork. I will say I really love the aesthetic of the city the crew called home. The constant shots of the faceless Buddhist statue as their boat rides into the harbor really set the tone for a lot of moments. The character designs are also really good and made all of the cast memorable, side characters or not. The action scenes are all flashy but at the same time smooth and comprehensible, and the 3D animation for vehicles and guns are all highly detailed. the background shots of bars shops and particularly the ocean all give an island vibe in the criminal underworld, which is exactly what it is.
Sound: At first I wasn't a fan of the opening, but as I kept watching I came to really enjoy it. It sets the tone perfectly and gets you pumped before a new episode. The attention to detail with the different gun sounds and the noise of chaos are all executed well, and the shows end credits track was one of my favorite things about it. The episode could wrap up a short arc on a high note, with all the characters getting home in one piece, but right before the credits come on, whether its a ominous shot or a dark depressing piece of dialogue the end track almost always completely changes the vibe of whatever's happening, making the end of every episode having a sense of dread and emptiness, which is one of the biggest undertones of the show and the main message it tries to push...I'm not going to explain further as that's something you have to understand from watching it. The OST is pretty tame in that it doesn't completely shift tones for every different moment, there are some uplifting tracks but they fall in line with the shows vibe and does not throw anything off. The action scenes all have kick-ass musical scores which should go without saying for this type of show. A side note I watched Black Lagoon in Dub and I feel this is the way to go. The voice acting is great and encapsulates the vibe the characters give off perfectly, specifically Revy.
Characters: The cast is by far the best thing about the show, the protagonist "Rock" is a perfectly relatable average Joe on the surface, but even early on you can tell there's something behind his eyes that makes him different, and I love how they stayed true to this by not changing his character completely despite the year time span of the show. You get a lot of great dialogue from him that subtly tells you whats going on in his mind, but its not just outright told to you. Revy is the female protagonist of the show, and the same applies to her except in her case being the opposite of Rock in terms of what kind of person they each are. She has the most scene-stealing moments and lines of the series, but her character is much more than just the "bad ass girl with the gun who curses a lot" which is what it may seem like on a surface level. The supporting cast as I said before is all great. whether its Eda the bad ass nun from the ripoff church or the intimidating leader of the Russian mob every side character, antagonist or not gets a moment to shine and each have a crazy bad ass or brutal moment of their own. The underlying tones and issues with society and certain people the show brings up are all explored through the characters and their dialogue with each other rather than the plot itself, sure some of it is situational, but you get the most just by seeing them in face to face conversations, or talking among themselves on how to deal with a sticky situation.
In conclusion I loved this show and thoroughly enjoyed every episode, most of what I said was vague and I didn't explore much plot specifics or character specifics because you should go into this show with an open mind and form your own opinion and know nothing about anything that happens. If you're reading this I hope you enjoyed my too long badly written review!

Finally after finishing Naruto & Naruto Shippuden after all these years (due to me only being able to watch the english dub), I began the infamous sequel series Boruto. I first off wanted to address the current perception of this series on this site as reading some other reviews I really could not understand the blatant dislike for the next generation. I’ll admit, it’s nowhere near as iconic and well done most of Part I and Shippuden is, however I think Boruto deserves some more respect. it, but I just can’t see how this show ruins Naruto for some people. While it’s not as good as the original, I think it does a solid job at continuing the source material.
With that said, I don’t think the show is perfect, although there are some thing I feel it does better than the original. First off Boruto benefits alot from its lack of flashbacks that Naruto at many times suffered from. When they are used, for the most part they’re short and effective also helping with the pacing of Boruto, which I feel is at times a lot better than the original as well. Naruto could sometimes grind to a halt due to tedious flashback sequences and drawn out conversations during fights. As you know if you’ve watched Naruto, the dialogue itself offsets most of the issues because of how emotional and powerful it is. Boruto also (early on at least) benefits from having a very low filler count, the said episodes being for the most part short and sweet done to flesh out the side characters rather than just pair up random teams and sending them on a goofy mission or having a 10+ episode character flashback in the middle of a crucial moment in the show as Naruto did at times. Another thing I found very surprising was that I actually really grew found of the new cast of characters, familiar by lineage and completely new ones. They all have great and interesting chemistry and it really sold their friendships from the beginning rather than 50+ episodes in. Their interactions felt genuine and flowed really well together, the show often times focused away from Boruto to the other kids which helped the feeling of having complete characters and not having many resorted to being useless during every situation. The show’s usage of old characters is also done very well, giving the lesser characters of Naruto like Shino, Konohamaru, Anko Hanabi etc. more spotlight them now being the genin team leaders of all the kids. Not overusing the classic characters by having them eclipse the spotlight of the new generation...Basically, when someone like Kakashi or Sasuke is on screen they’re used somewhat briefly but effectively, making the anticipation for their next appearance pay off much more. As much as everyone wants to see a series with all the Naruto characters as adults, that’s not what this show is. That’s not to say that it brushes off the past though...all of the former stars of the show are among the strongest people in the show as they should be, but seeing as that the show is primarily about these new genin, for the most part the focus is on them.
Obviously there are flaws here too, one of the biggest being the villains of the show. They pale in comparison to that of icons like the Akatsuki or Part I Orochimaru, and the Villains who are somewhat cool like Momoshiki, don’t have the proper motives, depth or screentime to have the presence of someone like Pain for instance. Benefit of the doubt being I’ve only watched 66 episodes and there is much more story to tell...Although Naruto had an A tier villain in Zabuza with its first arc. Another thing that might just be a personal preference is that I find it a little jarring how much the Hidden Leaf Village has modernized since the last time we saw it. Seeing things like hand-held game systems and burger restaurants just seems a bit off to me. One of the best things about Naruto was its aesthetic, in that you could see influence of ancient japan with a 1950’s / early 2000’s vibe to it and it fit the world around it perfectly. With boruto I feel like they made things feel much more modern just for the sake of doing it, although there is a reason for this in the story which is explained and it does play a part it some characters personal arcs, i’m still just not the biggest fan. That said though, it’s not something that actively bugs me while watching so that’s a plus. While the action sequences are beautifully done and great to look at, a part of me wishes the fights were a little longer. Basically every enemy encountered so far after they are revealed are dealt with in 1-2 episodes. It doesn’t feel rushed, and i’m not saying it should be a drawn out 8 episode battle like Sasori vs. Sakura, but the chunin exams in boruto wrapped up 5 or 6 fights in the span of 1 episode, and that disappointed me a little. The music as well seems pretty uninspired compared to the original soundtrack, but it does seem very familiar and keep with the general spirit of what the original was adding a slightly modern twist to some OST’s. The openings AND endings though are all excellent.
While Boruto was not what everyone was expecting or wanted. I think it deserves a chance, if you loved Naruto as much as I did, I don’t see any good reason to dislike this show. It does a good job at introducing a new cast of characters to a world we all know and love to tell a new story without dwelling and relying on the past. There are alot of great character dynamics and arcs which I was pleasantly surprised with to see early on, and some great naruto esc. Camaraderie and battles to keep you entertained and engaged thoroughly, if there’s one thing I can say about this show definitively it’s far from boring, whether or not you think it ruined your childhood is up to you. I went into this show with an open mind willing to accept this new generation and was very satisfied...and it makes the moments with the adult characters all that much better.
I don’t think I can change anyone’s mind about the show, but if you’re on the fence and willing to trust me, I think you should give it a try.

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F or "Fukkatsu no Effu" is the next movie Akira Toriyama has put out in the franchise to continue the canon since we got "Battle of Gods" last year and let me just say now it's great. It is currently (August 4th - 12th) in limited release in the U.S and I HIGHLY recommend you see it in theaters while it's out if you're a fan of the series....I mean wow, the atmosphere in the theater was simply intoxicating. made the jokes funnier, and people's reactions to the "holy shit!" Moments just made them so much better. Funimation even made a Pre-Show for us to watch instead of trailers, which was funny and entertaining, only making me want to watch the movie even more. Now onto the movie. Ressurection of F is presented beautifully. The 90's style is still captured in the impeccable animation. Characters from Piccolo to Frieza himself look amazing. And the fight scenes are simply flawless. Movements are fluent and look great, and seeing our heroes use their unique abilities is eye candy. From the opening title sequence to the final fight between Goku and Frieza everything was handled perfectly. However the score took a back seat some of the time. The music that was put into the spotlight was awesome, but fights throughout the film were not enhanced by the soundtrack. The music was either absent or very muffled in contrast to the epic battles that took place. The story is pretty straight forward as well, which is a low point of the film because Battle of Gods had a better story, so here it seems like plot wise, Akira may have taken a small step back. The story is not anywhere close to "average" though...it's a solid "good" from me. Fans of the series will know what they're getting in terms of plot, it won't impress anyone, but it doesn't at all ditract from how good this film is either. It's an easy to follow story which brings back a fan favorite character that we all love, and delivers an epic final fight. Watching Goku and Vegeta's banter is always great, and character interaction is handled so well, partially because of how commited these voice actors are to their roles. There were hilarious moments as well as awesome fights with supporting characters like Tien and Krillin, which is great because we see them do much more here than we saw in Battle of Gods...However seeing Gohan not step up was disappointing. Akira did such a good job at telling a simple story with plenty of action, as well as adding some unexpected "WTF" moments that shocked myself and the audience...how can you not like that? Overall, while the story may not be as good as last time around, Resurrection F makes up for that in much better battles this time around. And though the story was not AS good, it was still very very solid storytelling and I can't flaw Akira for wanting to tell a straight forward story for the fans. I enjoyed the hell out of this movie and I can say the exact same thing for any fans of the show. Please do yourself a favor and see this thing in theaters. 9/10

"K" or "K-Project" is a 2012 action anime which follows the events of...well, to be truthful it's pretty difficult to really explain a basic synopsis, and that's only one of the problems with the show. First off though i'll talk about some of the good things. Now don't get me wrong, K is not a bad show...it has potential, it just fails to execute its story properly and falls pretty flat. However, the animation itself is incredible. The directing is very good as well, the show uses nice shots and angles, and the view point sometimes has a green or blue hue to the shot,

so it gives the show a unique look. The aesthetic of the semi futuristic Japan is very nice, and everything from buildings to alleyways have great detail and design. The character designs for the most part are pretty good as well. The show also features a fantastic soundtrack, while i'm not too crazy for the Intro and outro, the score fits the tone of the show very well and all the songs are beautiful. Sadly though that's all the praise I can give K. The show starts off and three episodes in neither me or my friend (who dropped the show after 5 episodes) knew what was going on. Nothing is explained to you or implied anywhere so you're sitting there watching all this random shit happen without an understanding of the world they're in or what they're doing. Thankfully things become clear later on, however there are still some things that left me confused. If it weren't for the last two or three episodes I would have given the show a 4/10. Out of a large ensemble of characters there are maybe five max that are likeable, and I only started caring for the protagonist on the second to last episode which says something. Throughout the show you don't know what's going on so you can't appreciate any of the fights or the character interaction. And sometimes the show was just flat out boring, aside from episode 6 the middle episodes felt very slow and uneventful. Though the show is very flawed it still has potential. Somewhat likeable characters and an interesting premise with some good episodes near the end of the run I won't rule out watching season 2. However if you're looking for something GOOD to watch you can go elsewhere.

We all know of at least one anime that stands out among the rest, one that's original and got something unique about it...Let me tell you this, you'll never see an anime like Ben-To in your life. I say this in a good way of course, who wouldn't enjoy watching a show about a group of kids who meet up at induvidual food markets every night to brawl in order to get their hands on a simple half priced bento box? Like I said..you'll never see anything like that. While the premise may seem highly interesting it was slightly disappointing to see a story that

was pretty average. Personally I think if the show was 22-24 episodes it could have faired much better, because at times it felt like the show attempted to cram too much into such a short span of episodes. I would've loved to see more in-depth characterization, more bento brawls, and more short little arcs for this sort of episodic anime. The story never got to go into full bloom because it was simply too short, and as a result the ending felt slightly under whelming. That said, there aren't many other cons I can think of for this overall very enjoyable anime. I can't say i'm going to watch it again anytime soon, and it's not going to go down as one of my all time favorites..but Ben-To is an all around solid and enjoyable show. One of the things that stands out the most i'd say would have to be the soundtrack. Brawling for something as trivial as a food product seems like it's all fun and games right? You're wrong if you said yes. The OST which includes the intro as well, got me hyped for every action sequence, even the songs they played during downtime sounded very nice and added alot to the show's quality. This is a soundtrack I highly recommend downloading if you like instrumentals. The animation was as good as it could have been for when the show was released, but the action scenes are what stood out. When the brawls happened, they looked fantastic..not just some lazy thrown together one-and-done little altercation...each fight was dynamic and had it's own style, each of the characters fought differently as well. The "Ice Witch" aka Sen Yaruzui prefered using kicks, and the one known as "The Wizard" was just a badass who sadly was also in the show for a few episodes despite being made out to be this important character and we never see him again which was very disappointing. The protagonist was pretty likeable, at first I didn't care much for him but as the show progressed my liking of him increaced because he was fairly relatable. Two characters were introduced into the show a little more than halfway through, and they were actually my favorite charcaters however they hardly got enough screentime even though their character arc was finished by episode 12 (the show's end). The only reason I say I want the show to be longer, is because I want to see more of these characters together interacting. They had great chemistry, and there was a love intrest that was hinted at several times but never really was expanded upon. I'd want to see more brawls and more funny moments in the show as well, Ben-To is also a comedy..a funny one at that, the first brawl was hilarious to me because it was so bizarre, as well as some other funny moments that happened in the early episodes. The main character Saito, is also a pervert..so take what you want from that, just another thing that adds to the comedy. There's also fan service and ALOT of ecchi so if that's not your thing i'd pass on this show because it might bother you. Overall, Ben-To is a gutbustingly funny ecchi action show which can occupy your anime craving for about a week. 12 episodes is a little short for a show that made me like its characters and world building but I don't feel like they did a total disservice by making the show short, I simply would have preferred more of it. The characters don't stand out as being incredibly ambitious or unique, but their chemistry makes the show all on its own. The Ben-To brawls are jaw dropping at times and definitely worth watching for. Just a solid, enjoyable anime with few cons...again I ask, what more could you want?

Bleach: Jigokuhen or also known as "Hell Verse" is the 4th Bleach movie to be realeased to date, since the anime was cancelled back in 2012, this could be the last one for a while...which is somewhat dissapointing to not leave off on a higher note. Not to say movie 4 was bad, but in truth it didn't quite forfill my expectations. That said, it still was a decent watch and i'll explain why.
Hell Verse is the latest movie to be released, and you can clearly tell from its crisp and beautifully refined animation. Everything looked very smooth and detailed down to the bone, especially

the environment. More toward the beginning of the film which takes place in Karakura Town, the artwork is fantastic. The sky backdrop looks beautiful at sunset, and the town itself is fleshed out best as it has ever been. Then the main setting exclusive to this movie, (if you don't count the prequel episode from the anime 299) looks even better. I love how the Bleach version of hell wasn't the cliché biblical version that we all depict it in our heads to be...it had different levels to it which all looked unique. The first level looking like a map in some kind of retro video game, and one of the lower levels having geysers of some yellow acidic goo with a dark blue sky almost looking underwater. The overall lure of "Hell" was made very interesting, there were giant guardians and some other nice details that I'll let you find out for yourself. The action scenes also looked great, aside from the fact that there was a little too much smoke during the battles, the animations of each Bankai, and everything else looked great. There were some moments were things where moving too fast for me to follow what was going on but that's a small nitpick when the presentation was as gorgeous as it was. I just mentioned presentation...the movie was presented beautifully. The story flowed well and didn't feel rushed, and the intro to the movie was actually one of my favorite parts, showing a remastered version of Ichigo's fight with Ulquiorra which surprisingly has a sort of tie in with the plot. Now the sad thing is about Hell Verse is that the plot was underwealming. I wasn't really sucked into the story, it felt a bit on the average side in all honesty. They had a "plot twist" more toward the end that didn't really pull a reaction from me. There was a nice subtle moment between Ichigo and Oriheme that I liked but emotionally I was never really affected because I knew all the characters were going to survive. The movie also suffers from not having enough characters in it. Usually the best parts of both the show AND the movies involve the Captains. Sadly they were amost non existent aside from some dialogue and a very brief action scene involving one measly attack. We were given the crew of Ichigo, Rukia, Renji, and Uryu which we have already seen before in the Hueco Mundo arc of the anime...It gets kind of boring seeing Renji and Rukia just constantly using the same attacks, so I never really got to see anything new. The best part was probably Ichigo's fight, and for a simple reason that you'd figure out if you watch the movie. The villians were pretty weak too character wise. The "henchmen" looked kinda cool, but were so weak I didn't care at all about them...and thought they were just pointless being there. The only thing they really had going for them was that they had interesting character designs with somewhat unique attacks. Luckily enough, while i may have alot of complaints about the film, I was never bored and entertained throughout the 2 hours give or take.
If you're a fan of Bleach i'd definitely recommend checking this out, but if you don't like or have never watched Bleach this is not for you at all, you'll most likely not really enjoy it.

Bleach movie 3: Fade to Black a.k.a Kimi no Na o Yubo, is nothing special but if you're a fan of the show as I am you'll probably enjoy yourself. Perhaps my expectations were a bit higher than they should've been for some reason...I thought it was going to be better than the movie 2 was but in reality they were about the same this time around being only a slight upgrade. Nevertheless I never found myself bored or uninterested and while the story was unsurprisingly pretty generic it was still a fun time. The plot, which I won't spoil was actually better this time

around, having some more layers to it than I expected it to, which was good. I liked how it focused itself up on Rukia's past and there was a thing that happened to the characters which added depth to the story as well. The fight scenes were actually coriagraphed very well, the best one being the small skirmish between Ichigo and Renji which was executed beautifully in my opinion. However in the movie it feels like the creators just shoehorned in all the Captains and Lieutenants into it just to show them use their bankai and other powers as a way to add action into the movie. I think this could've been done more cleaverly using specific characters more important to the story instead of just everyone. As for the villains, I thought they worked fine. The female was rather annoying in the beginning but towards the end I actually found pitty towards her and the other antagonist. As well as having some minor plot holes and things that should have been explained or went into detail further, I thought the pacing was very good and for the most part everything flowed crisp and clean. Overall the plot had good structure. On another note, the animation was a signifigant improvement, especially the zanpakto transformations and fight sequences were very good. The shadows and sweat, everything was much more detailed and the surrounding area of the seireitei looked very smooth. This time around the movie didn't have a exclusive soundtrack, but the music from the show itself is pleasant to listen to as always so I didn't mind it.
Overall I liked the movie enough, it wasn't a huge improvement from movie 2 but it's a good time at that. It looked and sounded good...delivered a good enough story with some plot holes, things that should've been explained more, but some nice looking fights with functional villains. If you're a fan of Bleach, you probably won't be obsessed with this movie but you'll definitely like it and enjoy it the whole way through. If you liked my review give it a thumbs up! Thanks (:

First off, i'll make it clear that I don't and have not watched Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z, however I know a considerable amount about the show aside from the gritty details, and anything I didn't know I simply asked my friend who was sitting right next to me. That said, the fact that I haven't watched DBZ didn't affect my enjoyment at all as you can see by the score I gave.

fact that this film IS canon makes it more interesting to me, and the movie did such a good job of using the canon appropriately, introducing a new character; Beerus the Destroyer, as well as forwardly expanding the story with some things I won't spoil. Now the movie's undoubtably best aspect is that they combined the hilarious comedy and character interaction style of Dragon Ball, while at the same time adding the over-the-top crazy action of DBZ. As much as I wanted to see Goku kicking ass I simply loved the character interaction. The cast's chemistry was so good and seeing the voice actors reprise their role's with effort and emotion is such nice detail. There were some hilarious moments throughout the film, even during the action sequences which were fantastic. The fights didn't by any means drag, I feel people will penalize the movie for not incorporating a plethora of action but in my opinion the film had a perfect balance. Not only were the fights coordinated well, but they looked phenomenal in the remastered HD animation of DBZ. The animation wasn't the best i've ever seen, but seeing the old animation style of the show being reverberated in beauty all while keeping it's 90's aesthetic is eye candy to me. The effects look as good as any top notch anime you'll see, Super Saiyan God mode looks great as well as the transformations and other CGI and particle effects you see. That animation coped with the original sound effects and soundtrack make for a pleseant bundle of fine details that add to the movie. Moving onto the plot, the incorporation of the new character Beerus, couldn't have been done any better as I mentioned before. He's not just some enemy that Goku will overcome adversity to beat so don't worry about any clichés in that sense. And Beerus himself is brought to life by voice actor Jason Douglas, and having a very interesting and unique character design. The film does a good job and making you believe he's insanely powerful, and I only hope I can see him again. The film was also structured very well, there was a sub plot involving Emporer Pilaf that I thought was a little unnecessary but in the end it did add to the comedy at least a little bit so I didn't mind.
Overall I loved this movie despite not being a watcher of DBZ or Dragon Ball, the movie expects you to follow the story line, and I was able to follow since I know a majority of the story with the exception of the fine details. The story isn't over complicated though, it's very easy to follow and paced very well. If you're a fan of Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z I highly recommend this to you, as well as the casual anime watcher if you know a decent amount about the show of course. If you don't like DBZ, this isn't going to change your mind. However I loved it and am now more compelled to watch the show.
