“Na na na na na na na na na na”
Man oh man am I excited to get into this. I remember when the manga started publication and I doubted it would last so I never got around to reading it. 3 years later it gets an anime so I had to finally check it out. Boy am i glad i did.
Before I get down to business, I think it is worth mentioning that by episode 3 I was so interested that I HAVE now read the manga and am up to date - however this is a review for the anime, not the series
...
in general. If you would like a discussion on why this is still a fantastic piece of work, even if it’s not identical to the manga, scroll down to the end of the review for my thoughts.
Now that's clear time for the..
[ REVIEW IN SHORT ]
Characters are great and unique. For once an anime has children characters that aren’t helpless. Rare to have a young female MC character in a non-sexualised way.
A VERY refreshing, original and well thought out plot. The good type of anime that makes you think.
It’s dark, it’s creepy, it’s eerie and it’s fun.
Sometimes, however, tracks cut short in an attempt to build tension, but it can feel unnatural.
There are some short scenes in the manga that I wish was in BUT this isn’t a big problem.
Yakusoku no Neverland is fantastic and I look forward to seeing how things continue and highly recommend.

[ Main Review ]
Story:
It’s different. In a time of generic anime, this really felt like something different to a lot of other things I’ve watched or read. The plot is set from the start, so it’s always clear what’s going on. Anything that’s more subtle is then explain later on. The monologue is, usually, pretty good and appropriate. Of course there are more tears than you might ask for, but the plot is about children at an orphanage so what do you expect? Yakusoku no Neverland had a gripping and promising plot, let’s see if this can be well established in a 12 episode season.
Characters:
I truly think the characters are great. Whilst being intelligent and strategic, our main characters still hurt and have emotions. The expression of the character’s is astonishing and really makes their emotion feel real.
A female lead in a non ecchi, how rare and well done. Strong, charismatic, athletic. Its golden. But the other main character’s are also great, yet suspicious individuals. There has been serious thought put into both the appearances and personalities of these characters to make them distinct and likeable.
Can’t score full because side characters still have a lot of development yet to come to improve their character(I hope). At times, most of the children feel bland and part of the scenery rather than characters. The writer has made an effect to give most children different personalities, which is an effort I can appreciate.
Art:
Love it. It feels as though they’ve taken the manga art and made it alive. The facial expression, I’ll mention again, are great. The eyes. There is so much to be said about how expressive the eyes are and the kind of tension this alone builds. At times it feels ugly, but that’s just because this isn’t my kind of art. However, it suits this series perfectly.
Also the opening animation is really nice, gets me pumped for each episode. I really think they’ve done a great job animating the opening.
Sound:
Love the voices, love the opening and ending but not so much that it's perfect.
The opening really grew on me. First time round I was like “this is okay”. Second time “hmm i like it”. And by the third time “NANANANANANANA”.
Tracks play at good times, so much so that i noticed and thought “damn this music adds tension”. You know the sound is good when you’re unconsciously thinking about how good it is.
Enjoyment:
I’m loving it this anime personally. It’s eerie and intense and time flies when watching. I was so excited for the next episode that I went to read the manga (which is even better). Though until the plot moves along more im not obsessed with the anime, yet.
Overall
9.2. Yes why not a 9? Because its too good to be compared to other animes that deserve a 9/10 rating. This anime is very complete (thus far) and is easy to watch. There’s excitement and tension but not so much that it’s hard to watch. It’s fun for those who enjoy mystery and those who don’t. I HIGHLY recommend this anime.
*On a side note, as someone who is more of a manga fan than anime fan, the criticisms are silly. Yes monologue has been cut, but it’s replaced with other scene or moments. Does anyone know and anime that is word for word identical to the manga? No me neither. As for some characters being better in the manga, I agree they’re not as good here but there’s still time for that to change.

“The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” is a series well known in the community, once a flagship series, due to it’s crazy plot and characters. As far as the manga goes, it fell short of expectations. Before anyone gets upset by this (as I’m sure some will), It is easy to appreciate the wacky themes of Suzumiya and the challenging concepts that are played around with. I really do think the idea is good but the task too big for the author. “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” is littered with random events and occurrences with a handful of useful arcs within. too much going on to follow any logic.
"The Melancholy of Suzumiya" is a missed masterpiece.
What I mean by that is that it had the potential to truly be a masterpiece and, if correctly executed, could have scored near full marks but that’s not the reality. My review really plays around the idea that this series is NOT a total failure, it isn’t as bad as many other manga with the same ratings but has earned it’s scored in other ways.

KEY POINTS
WHAT SUCKS...
REPETITIVE
This was probably one of the biggest issues. After reading around 20 or 30 chapters, the “arcs” begin to follow a same formula; something mysterious happens, big build up, turns out to be nothing. I’ll admit that the first few times I almost thought that it was impressive to build up tension like that, but to have nothing happen all the time except for crazy speculation of unusual activity satisfied by a boring conclusion. In manga that has an alien, esper and time traveller as main characters, how it it so hard to find a mystery? That’s a mystery in it’s own. Because of how repetitive the series is it became hard to feel excited at tension as it would always feel as though that moment was irrelevant. A lack of surprises turned this manga into more of a boring Slice of Life.
NO LOGIC
Okay yes it is manga, which is of course a form of entertainment and is fictional. But that doesn’t make “anime logic” just. Had the author not tried to describe every alien concept or unusual idea, I might have let it slide. But what was really distracting is the contradictory logic given that should allow the manga to function, but instead creates more questions than it answers. Strange events occur often and the justification for it is some long winded, overly complicated verbal diarrhoea that makes no sense to the characters, let alone the reader. This ends up making it painful at times to read the dialogue and also REALLY drags out the manga. It doesn’t even clarify anything. I’d have been more happy to have things left unexplained rather than making up logic as things go along, and contradicting it later on.
POOR BATTLE SCENES :(
This made me a sad boy. A super sad boy. Of course this criticism only refers to the manga but the few battles scenes that occurred were simply too hard to understand what was going on. It isn’t the worst I’ve seen, after all the panels are well drawn, but it was the lack of description that made it difficult. The abilities that people possessed were never explored or explained so when fights occur I had no idea what was going on; maybe aliens shooting lasers with sonic speed? I don't know. Had these been easier to understand, they’d have been a nice bonus to the manga, but the inability to show a clear battle, or at least explain what's going on, really did disappoint and even become a distraction in critical moments.
FAILURE TO CONCLUDE ANYTHING
Something really frustrating about this manga is how open the ending feels. Usually there is some indication of what would happen to allow speculation but the bizarre nature of “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ”does not allow this. Many characters are even more mysterious at the end than they were when they were introduced. To be specific (while avoiding spoilers) implications are made about Koizumi but no definite answers are given. Trying to understand this manga is like trying to decrypt another language that you don’t speak; pointless. With no clear understanding of characters or logic, I finished reading the manga being able to explain to others as little as when I started reading it.
FINAL CHAPTERS...
I’m sure I’ve mentioned the progressive improvement throughout the later stages of the manga. “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” really becomes more likeable and enjoyable towards the end for certain. However, the final few chapters were… well pretty crap. The conclusion to “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” is pretty bad and doesn’t seem finished. There are more questions created than answers. More or less the whole thing is speculation. New stories in the closing arc but never explored. IT MUST BE UNDERSTOOD THAT THE SERIES MAY NOT BE FINISHED, but after so many years after serialisation I believe it is.
IT'S BORING
Okay that may be a little harsh since I managed to finish the manga. Sure I complained A LOT whilst doing so but it only bored me to sleep a couple times, so that can’t be so bad? (seriously I did fall asleep once reading long, illogical paragraphs). Not every part of this manga is boring; actually there were times when I would read 5 or 6 chapters at a time. Generally however, chapters feel long and as though nothing in the chapter really mattered. There are some very obvious instances of the author simply filling spaces so that the chapter had enough pages to be published. As the reader you will notice these moments, and it’s not enjoyable when it takes more effect to read than it did to write/draw. But that doesn’t mean everything is “filler” but a lot is.
WHAT WAS AWESOME...
“The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” HAS GREAT CHARACTERS
I really want to emphasise how great the characters are (even if I don't like them all). Sure I just bashed the uncertainty of the characters but they are in the least consistent. Suzumiya herself is self-entitled to the extent that it’s painful, HOWEVER I am yet to see another character so frustrating to see but yet so true to their character and entertaining. Her personality, though disgusting, is intriguing rather that repulsive; Suzumiya is a great character. Kyon, our main character, is so simple yet well done. No minute with him is boring despite his mediocrity and generic personality. But what I think there really is to appreciate with “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” is that the side characters are entertaining and usually have depth. Many of my favoured characters are the side characters (like Tsuruya and Sasaki) who are enigmatic ,like everyone other character, but unique in other ways. I really do feel as though this series has few weak characters, though they certainly aren’t perfect.
..AND THEIR DEVELOPMENT (or lack of)
To make the characters even better, the series sees a number of characters change their behaviour as more mystery unravel (well as much as “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” unravels anyway). Every significant character has some form of development, but in ways that don't break their character. No one receives a total, unrealistic transformation. In the end, every character is true to themselves but yet think or act differently because of what they have learned. It really did make it easy to enjoy seeing the same characters being the same and not undergoing some “bs anime logic” transformation.
SUZUMIYA CAN BE ENJOYABLE..
With all the nonsense words and dead end arcs, reading “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” is often boring. I’m sure we all know the frustration of building up to a big moment before reaching a big anticlimax. “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” is filled with these moment. HOWEVER there were many times I laughed and enjoyed the manga. I loved most of the chapters that followed Yuki and the later chapters of the manga are really easy to enjoy. Often I laughed at the small jokes made throughout and reading this manga felt fun. The “Editor in Chief” and “Disappearance of Suzumiya” arcs are two that I found particularly strong and enjoyable.
Other things worth mentioning...
* I like the art, I do think that it's usually pretty nice to look at (besides the battle scenes).
* Familiar settings (like the club-room) didn't feel boring or repetitive but somehow felt comfortable.
*After thinking about this manga for sometime, the plot is so unclear that I'd be able to summarise it. Is there even a plot?
CONCLUSION
I do believe that “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” truly had the potential to be great. I refer to it as “a missed masterpiece” for this reason. But it’s flaws and lack of clarity are so obvious that it makes it a bad read. To me, it looks like the writer thought of a challenging plot and tried it, but the end result was the failure of a great idea. Reading “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” was an experience different to any other manga I’ve read however. Sometimes I enjoyed this a lot, other times I wanted to stop. The characters were great and left an impression, but the sloppy and subpar plot just ruined it, it truly was a shambles. I hardly finding myself thinking about the manga now (several weeks after finishing) and when I do, I complain. I’m glad I had the chance to see what the “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” hype is about and to meet those characters BUT I wouldn’t do it again. Hell if I knew what i was in for I wouldn't have done it to start with. “The Melancholy of Suzumiya ” is not worth the time it takes and I would not recommend reading. If you’re really interested in the franchise I’d suggest watching the anime (because its much shorter than 105 chapters).

I want to write this review to explain why I enjoyed citrus even though I don't like ecchi or yuri. I did not read the manga so this is my first time encountering this series.
Citrus is an anime about the love of two girls (yes it is about love and not lust). There is fanservice throughout (naturally) and of course it is not the type of anime that is always comfortable to watch. However, citrus is enjoyable and tells a story with somewhat original characters; even if they're not the most exciting.
I'll be honest and say what's bad about this anime first. This isn’t everything
...
bad, or everything good but it's what I gathered so far.
1. Citrus can be uncomfortable to watch. There is a lot of scenes where sexual acts are forced and it can be so uncomfortable that I look away from the screen or take out one headphone. The over sexualisation is not something that is always necessary and can put some people off watching, myself included.
2. The story attempts to tackle realistic scenarios but without realistic approaches. The relationship between the two main characters sometimes simply doesn't make sense and there hasn't been significant progression yet. Either things happen too fast or too slow. I guess realistic pacing, both for character development and monologue, are not the strong points of the anime.
3. THE FANSERVICE. Simply put, I hate this. Both from a personal and objective point of view, the fan service is forced and once again uncomfortable. Rather than placing these moments within the story, the story revolves around these moments instead. They aren't particularly enjoyable so it doesn’t really work as good fan service.
So why do I like citrus and think you should watch it?
1. IT'S NOT BORING. Sure Citrus isn't going to be the best anime that you've ever watched, but it isn't dull either. The script isn't perfect and the mix between serious and comedy is confusing but it's enjoyable nonetheless. I've had fun watching Citrus even though it certainly isn't my usual genre.
2. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S REALISTIC! I just wanna stress that it is an anime not a documentary. Some things that happen in Citrus are strange or don't make much sense (like the fact that her mother didn't tell her about the step sister). Sure these plot holes take away from the overall quality but not from the enjoyment. Watch Citrus for fun and for a bit of weird drama. If you take it too seriously then how can you enjoy anime?
3. It's an unusual romance. As a huge romance fan I will admit that there is no build up to falling in love. Yuzu literally goes from seemingly asexual to lesbian in a day or two. But that doesn't mean that the romance isn't beautiful. It is not a cliché school romance, so if you want that look somewhere else. Love comes in different forms and the love shown in Citrus may be different but it's refreshing.
4. The art is pretty, the voices are great and the characters are easy on the eye. Visually it has been pretty well defined to make it easy to watch. I love the voice actors (especially for Yuzu) and really get drawn in by the clean visuals and fitting voices.
Overall PLEASE GIVE CITRUS A CHANCE. Episode one is uncomfortable and that is a big flaw of the anime I won't doubt. However it is a romance that is different to a typical shoujo and is certainly unique in its execution. Citrus isn't for everyone, and it isn't even the best anime airing right now, but it is enjoyable and I will happily finish the season; hope you do too!

Heroine voice is a short, but sweet, manga following Otome and Suzu as they become voice actors under the same manger. The potential for this manga is clear from the start but with only 11 chapters (as 3.2 is canon) the end feels premature as if the manga been cut short.
Regardless, this was certainly worth the read and was enjoyable for sure.
Story: 5
A 5 rating doesn't mean the story is bad, I actually enjoyed it. But there is too much depth within the story that is unexplored. Characters appear sometime with little to no significance and say no more than a sentence. The story also

seems to shift focus pretty quickly as the writing begins to focus more on Suzu. While this was interesting, it resulted in the main character being overshadowed and underdeveloped as a result.

I really enjoyed the artwork. Characters expressions looked great and there was a clear distinction in the characters' appearances.
Character: 6
The characters in the manga are all deep and mostly shrouded in mystery. Had the manga go on for longer, I believe that this depth could have been explored further but in reality there is little character development and nothing more than the name of some characters is known. I really saw potential in the characters being explored but sadly this did not happen, a real shame.
Enjoyment: 8
I have no doubts that this manga is enjoyable. The monologue flows well and characters personalities are likeable. Actually i'd say it's hard to dislike any character who had some significance. Sure it won't be my favourite manga anytime soon, but certainly not a boring read.
Overall: 7
Heroine Voice is a manga that I do not regret reading. The short journey that the characters go through was easy to follow and enjoyable. I definitely recommend giving this manga a read, but don't expect perfection.

Would appreciate if the second volume was translated so I could finish this...
Anyway, Ikusaba Animation is a fun yet short manga. After reading up to chapter 7 I would really want to read more and didn't find it boring. That said, this manga is certainly nothing amazing, but IS worth the read.
Story: 5
Well the story isn't great. The pacing is all over the place and the focus of the story seems to shift suddenly after only a couple chapters. But nonetheless, the manga tells the story in a fun way and whilst it's unrealistic, that's what makes it fun.

The characters are interesting but find themselves underdeveloped and left with little depth. None of the characters are particularly amazing, but they're likeable nonetheless. Would have been much better to focus on the growth of the characters and not just on the wonky story-line.
Enjoyment: 8
I personally thought this manga was good fun and I think that most people would agree. The characters are bubbly and there is some funny moment throughout. Sure it's no comedy, but it doesn't get boring.
Overall: 6.5 (Worth a read)
Was stuck between giving it a 6 or a 7 but after considering the criteria I went with the lower. That's not to say this is a bad manga (I for one enjoyed it) but it is simply nothing special. I would however recommend giving it a go, since it's so short, and trying it out for yourself.

"The best moment, one scene, one cut. A movie a compilation of them"
This series wasn't one good moment, it was a series of meaningful moments strung together from start to end, like a compilation.
Itsudatte Bokura no Koi wa 10 cm Datta; well that was mouthful. As it's English name is Our love has always been 10 centimetres apart, so I'm gonna call it "Our love" from now on.
Wanted to start by saying that I have NOT seen the other two movies, so my review is as a fresh pair of eyes to the franchise.

The anime was a cute 6 episode series which told a romance story I really enjoyed. It is not a spectacular or an innovative breakthrough to the romance genre, but is a story worth watching and enjoying.
Breakdown;
Story: 8
I really enjoyed watching this story progress, for both the main characters and those around them. It was something slightly different to other things I've seen and the ending was well presented in my opinion.
Also worth saying that 6 episodes is around 144 minutes, which is much longer than the films. For that I'm glad because it didn't feel rushed.
With a good first episode and good ending, this story was one that I appreciate for sure.
Art:9
Nice and easy on the eyes. At times colours felt a bit grey, but still looks sharp.
Sound:7
Some great songs.. but not so great timing. I thought the opening and ending were strong though, especially with how the song complimented the video to reflect the characters.
Characters:8
A fun group of main and side characters. I think the amount of screen time given to all characters were well balanced, so it is easy to see your favourite character. However, none of the characters were unique or inventive. They were fun for the time of watching, but forgettable afterwards. Also I felt like two characters looked way too similar (sure they were related, but it was unrealistic). This may have been for affect but it became distracting at times.
Enjoyment:8
Easy to watch and the drama sure built tension that got me excited. All moments had meaning so there was never a reason not to enjoy. That said "Our love" doesn't have the "it" factor that to make it a 10/10 enjoyment.
Overall: 8
All this said, my review is only from this series. I assume that after watching the films, my thoughts may differ. For now though, "Our Love" has been a cute romance, with sweet moments to make me smile.
If you've got some spare moments I recommend watching.

That was the Rubesty, Zura!
Really though, Love Live Sunshine! has been really good. I'll be the first to say that the original grasped me more (as I'm a HUGE fan), but this was still amazing nonetheless! Love Live Sunshine has been a treat, full of smiles, songs as good as the original and improved CGI.
If you're a Love Live fan watch this season for sure, if you haven't seen it before, be sure to watch the original first i'd say (but this isn't a bad start either).
Won't bore you anymore with my fan-girling, now for the more analytic stuff;

Story: 8
Originally this score was lower because it seemed as though the plot was a carbon copy of the original. Then the added a slight twist (that I won't reveal to keep it spoiler free) that still had the similarities in the plots being more than the differences. But what won me over wasn't these little differences, it was the more meaningful interactions (such as with other idol groups) in the story that built on the plot.
Sure the plot is similar to the first series, but that's hard to avoid when the whole basis is of "school girls becoming idols and trying to win love live". Slightly repetitive at this but a fun, and surprisingly emotional, story, that improved a lot from season 1 to season 2.
Art: 9
THE CGI LOOKS GREAT! Really happy to see these improvements as it now makes the performance scenes tonnes more enjoyable. Nice and easy on the eye, can't complain really.
Sound: 9
I'll be the first to say that some of the songs in season 2 have topped those of the previous season and the original. Aqours have great voices and the songs they sing all come together really well. Not quite Snow Halation good, but great in there own right.
Characters: 8
So the approach taken was, of course, to make characters that somewhat resemble someone from the original Love Live series. This approach was pretty weak in the first season as it felt like redoing what had been done. However this season, during the character development episodes we see our characters grow to be unique. These episodes really saved the day for these characters, making them more lovable and personal.
What really won me over however is the interactions between characters. The clear bond between the girls in each year. It really was pleasant seeing Kanan treat Mari like a princess, or Hanamaru and Ruby bonding (or just seeing Hanamaru is general).
Enjoyment: 9
When watching this season, I didn't sit and binge like I do many other anime series. Instead I'd watch a couple at a time, saving the smiles and purity of Love Live for when I needed it. This season will make you laugh, smile and maybe even cry ( I know I did once). Could, and will, happily watch this season again in the future.
Only reason it isn't a 10 is because it didn't have that wow factor that glues your eyes to the screen.
Overall: 8.5
How sad that I can't give this a higher score.. but it's just not the same. That said Love Live Sunshine! season 2 is another great season, with really pleasant episodes for the individual characters. The characters' growth as individuals, and as a group, sure makes it things enjoyable and helps make the plot shine.
Love Live Sunshine! found it's radiance from my perspective and I would recommend watching this season to the end.

Where have the years of enjoyable Beyblade gone? As a huge fan of the original series, the contrast between that and this is painful. That isn't to say that this series in simply bad but it is simply worse than both the original and metal series. With little excitement, weak main characters and a story that only gets exciting after 30 episodes and introducing several new characters, Beyblade Burst instant charm.
What is good about the anime is (sadly) the side characters. In this series it is easier to enjoy the appearance of supporting characters (such as Xander and Zac) rather than the main character
...
Volt; but there's a lot more to be said about that later on. The animation is pretty nice and clean and the dubbed voices are pretty good. But yet my largest criticism is the lack of enjoyment throughout the first half of the series.
However managed to finish the series after all, so it can't be all that bad.
Analysis time;
Story: 3
Whilst writing this review I've constantly finding myself changing the score for story due to it's ridiculously luck based nature and repetitivity. Cliche and predictable, I found myself guessing the results of every match with a 90% success rate. However this wasn't the case so much in the end, instead battles were decided by injury or luck. Skill (or logic) no longer prevailed.
What really disappointed me is the shift that the series has undergone. Originally, characters would improve through hard battles, training and important life events. In Beyblade Burst the "power of friendship" and "bonds with your Bey" seem to overcome all talent or skill. Worsening this is the confusing format of events such as tournaments, with participants only consisting of certain characters, and locations for events strangely close (yet there's a boat trip??) creating a mass confusion throughout.
If you're a Beyblade fan this underdog story may be bearable otherwise it's hard to watch.

Not much to be said really. The characters do look great and the battles look great two. The effects in battles are nothing special but are easy to follow and rather nice. Not perfect but rather pleasing. Often I found things clear, but others who I watched it with saw it unclear when burst scenes occurred and thought some of the colours washed together at times so you don't know who's bey burst.
Sound: 5
What this series has a pretty good dub. Besides Volt's 5 year old voice, every other character has a voice that suits their character well. The opening is bubbly but not memorable and the sound of Beyblades colliding is decent.
What it lacks however is a main character whose voice I can bare for 51 episodes. Often after watching more than 1 episode, I found myself feeling irritated at the overly loud and childish voice of Volt.
All that said, 5 isn't a bad score, it's just okay.
Characters: 5
Zac, Xander, Lui, Shu, Orochi and a few other characters found themselves really likeable and created something for me to enjoy in the series. These characters in particular became favourites of mine. It's a huge shame that of these only Shu is a main character. That said, the majority of the main characters either have inconsistent backstories (Rantaro), bad morals (Daigo), or unbearable attitudes (Wakiya). What happened to making your main characters likeable? I truly believe a flaw in this series is that the side characters are 10 times more interesting than the main ones.
Above all, characters (beside from Daigo and Ken) see no development. Each character has a moment from time to time where they learn something, only to be forgotten about the next episode. All this said, it was hard to score it above a 4, but due to personal likeness I pushed it up one.
Enjoyment: 4
This series of Beyblade just doesn't have "it". Throughout I found myself wondering why I would watch this instead of another Beyblade series. There are exciting moments at times and episodes can be fun, but the majority of the arcs lack anything special or unique that made me want to look at the screen.
Thee series it's moments but certainly will not re-watch as I hardly kept my eyes on the screen the first time.
Overall: 4/5
Well Beyblade Burst probably isn't the worst thing I've seen, but it is the worst Beyblade series undoubtedly. It has nothing likeable that the original or the metal series doesn't have.
All in all, I can't recommend Beyblade Burst to others, unless you're a hardcore fan.

I've waited to write this review after finishing the anime a week ago, as I got too wrapped up in the emotion of the anime to write an objective review. But that affect still hasn't worn off. The emotional journey that is Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April) is simply a masterpiece. Th

Okay so now enough of my emotional drivel; time for the breakdown...
Story: 9
Just want to state that the pacing does change from slow to rather fast, but I believe that to be intentional. The pacing goes faster as time begins to run out, the choice of pacing was intentional and creates the tension that makes this story; therefore I refuse to falter it.
The story is touching and we really feel empathy towards our characters. Built upon moments, the story is told through characters emotions and the end is one of the best twists in anime. It is predictable, yet doesn't follow "anime" logic, and the charters struggles aren't magically overcome. The story is subtly built upon emotions and is not about music, its about coming to terms with these emotions. However it is channelled through music and during each performance, a character will connect with these emotions. It's a story to appreciate, despite some cliches.

Visually beautiful. I struggle to deduct marks from this anime as throughout the series the animation only ever pleased. No faults.
Sound: 10+
THE SOUND!!! Kimi no uso has one of the best sound tracks. The music fits the story, and is well placed within the anime. At just the right time, the right sound will play that really creates an atmosphere. But even better than this is the solos. Being an anime about a pianist, of course there are piano solos and what spectacular solos they are. Every song, every note, will strike the watcher with intensity. Truly amazing.
Characters: 8
It must be said that I loved the characters, both main and side. Kousei and Tsubaki both experienced their own stories and we got to see these characters grow. Kaori is also a great character despite the lack of development BUT THIS IS INTENTIONAL. Kaori's character is the same throughout for reasons the make sense after finishing (I won't endeavour further to avoid spoilers). Takashi and Emi, both side characters, quickly became favourites of mine having passion of their own and still seeing enough development despite not having huge affect on the main plot. Most importantly is that all charterers have a goal, a motive. Feelings that reflect those that was have in real life.
Now the flaws. Certain main charters (Watari!!) saw little significance. Unlike Tsubaki and Kousei, little is known about Watari, almost as though half way through the writing they forgot he existed. For a character with such significance to the plot, it would have been relevant to unravel that character some more. Only other criticism towards characters is that there was arguable too much development of some characters. I found Nagi Aize, as an example, overdeveloped as her story held little to the actual story-line. But this is a niche criticism as it was enjoyable nonetheless.
Enjoyment: 10
Couldn't. Stop. Watching. Every moment was fantastic. Every scene, every song, every moment. I found this anime very enjoyable both visual and audibly.
Overall: 9.5
Shigastu was Kimi no Uso is a masterpiece that I would recommend to all (and have already done so to friends). With a clear plot and great sound, I believe the anime to be truly fantastic. However the true emotion of this anime is only experienced the first (or maybe first few times), giving it less re-watch value than some others. The story and Kaori's intentions are so shrouded in shadow, almost to a fault, that after watching the first time that same satisfaction isn't there.
However despite my criticisms this anime is truly amazing. It has been an experience that I won't forget, can't forget, anytime soon and recommend to all!

So I've been looking through the reviews after finishing this manga a day ago to see if people responded how I did. I was shocked by the result. I don't think Nisekoi is a "fair" or "average" manga, I think it's excellent. That said, it's not a typical harem, it's a lot more soft and romantic, so if that's what you're after look somewhere else.
Personally I fell in love with this manga (and anime) due to it's charm, humour and fun characters. That said, I will try be as objective as possible.
STORY: 8
Nisekoi's story about fake love is not overly original, but is well
...
told. There is more than enough character development within this story, and overall it flows well (despite it's many running gag chapters). There are a few times that the main story gets sidetracked with other little things, but overall this adds to the enjoyment of it, breaking up serious events with light-hearted humour.
Art: 9
I can't give it full marks but I think Naoshi Komi (the author) really considered the expressive nature of his characters. The art really fits the story well, and compliments the characters emotions. Not perfect but perfectly fits the story.
Character: 8
I know there will be a lot of disagreement on this but hear me out. There isn't a character, main or side, that you will dislike throughout the series as everyone plays a part, either to build the plot or to be part of a running gag. On an individual basis these characters are pretty average, but when they're together and interacting with one another, they're really fun, likeable and memorable. The main character Raku can be irritating due to how oblivious he is, beyond belief. Even so, I love Nisekoi for it's characters, despite how cliche many of them are.
Enjoyment: 10+
If I could give it more than a 10, I would. Throughout reading I wanted to know what happened next. The plot is somewhat slow, but I would want to read more to see the characters grow (and also the awkward situations they'd end up in). I had so much fun reading this and for sure will do it again. Nisekoi is lovable without a doubt.

All this said, Nisekoi is not a perfect manga. It certainly isn't the perfect harem. Nisekoi has a slow moving plot that's overshadowed by it's constant chapters of gag. However it is one of my new favourites because of how enjoyable it is, and if that doesn't count for something I don't know what does. Manga is made to be enjoyed as entertainment and Nisekoi succeeds exceedingly in this. I recommend to all if you want a laugh and a journey of fake love that you won't forget anytime soon!
