Bastard is very overrated in my opinion. It contains 2d, uninteresting characters, so what happens to the main characters didn't really matter to me. Plot is also too predictable/unrealistic.
The story builds up, only to get a weak ending.
It didn't really feel like a psychological horror, but just random psychological horror elements put in one story with uninteresting characters. They fight for no reason, just for the sake of fighting. There are also no real motivations/explained why the characters do the stuff they do.
Besides that is the art style pretty.
Recommended if you like a non deep story that leads to nothing, the beginning was interesting tho.

This movie is basically when you ask your neighbour to make a Ghibli movie, while explaining to him what it is while he never watched one.
They put some Ghibli elements together, so it wasn't a strong movie on it's own. Like we all have seen this stuff before, except it didn't have impact on the story, it didn't fit the surroundings, it was just random, and also not original, it didn't have it's own personality.
