Shounen Captain (30)
Manga, 1995Finished3 vol, 22 chp

Much of the damage attributed to "Vash" is caused by the activities of bounty hunters who are after the 60,000,000,000$$ (sixty billion "double dollars") reward on Vash's head for the destruction of a city called July. Vash does not clearly remember the destruction of July, and only wants "love and peace," as he puts it; though he is a gunfighter of inhuman skill, he uses his weapons only to save lives wherever he can. As the series progresses, more is gradually learned about Vash's mysterious history and the history of the human civilization on Gunsmoke, the desert planet the series is set on. The series is often humorous in tone, but at the same time it involves very serious character development and especially in later episodes it becomes quite emotionally intense. Vash is occasionally joined by a priest, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, who is almost as good a gunfighter as Vash himself, and later is targeted by a band of assassins known as the Gung-Ho Guns for reasons which are mysterious at first. Trigun evolves into a very serious discussion of the nature of morality, posing questions such as: What is the nature of morality? Can we judge different moral codes? If a person is forced to betray their moral code, does that betrayal invalidate that moral code, and can the person still try to live up to that moral code? Can the person find redemption from their wrongs, and if so, how? (Source: Wikipedia) Included one-shot: Volume 2: Trigun (pilot)

A young high school couple out on a date saw what looked like a falling meteorite, and inside, they discovered a little baby girl! The two of them married and adopted the girl, who they named Morumo, as their own. The only problem with this feel-good story is that now, as a high school freshman, Morumo is 16.4 meters tall! Morumo still has a pretty happy life. She's popular with locals and tourists alike, and she goes to school everyday with her childhood friend Miharu. Then one day, a mad scientist, who specializes in experimenting on young ladies, injects Morumo with a serum that reduces her to 1/10 of her normal size. Her weight remains the same, so she is super-dense and tough like a superhero. Suddenly, it seems like all the joys of an ordinary life are within her grasp!! Sadly, the serum's effects are temporary and soon Morumo returns to her giant state. But now that she knows a normal life is possible, Morumo is not going to give up! Even if it means she and Miharu have to allow a mad scientist to experiment on her, surely the ends will be worth the means!

But this is the least of his shocks--Mao learns he is actually of alien descent! Because the numbers of his species are so few, Mao learns, its members have the ability to change shape to breed with other species--and also to transform from male to female and from female to male to suit a potential mate. It seems that, now that Mao is in puberty, he is fated to become a suitable partner for whomsoever he comes in close contact with, be it Tomoko Yokawa, the cute girl he just met, or, to his horror, Shunsuke! Yoshie Okahara moves from Hokkaido to Tokyo and discovers that it's much too hot during the summer for her tastes. A big part of that is the fact that her sweat and tears are nitroglycerin, leading to some rather explosive situations whenever she gets too hot or starts crying. Originally serialized in the non-magazine manga anthology "Petit Apple Pie", it was later serialized in Shounen Captain.
