Both are magical girl series with sparkly art. CLAMP's art is of course more detailed and refined, but Naoko's has it's own charm. Both series can appeal to an older audience and are classics of their genre. Both feature young girls in middle school who discover that they have magical powers and in both series the girls receive upgrades to their 'armor'. There are some overlaps in character personalities as well.

Jeanne was clearly inspired from Sailor Moon, but obviously couldn't reach its epicness. Both are mahou shoujo manga in which the protagonist is the average air-headed schoolgirl... who is actually the reincarnation of someone, and who can tranform into a blonde heroine and fight against the evil. Both of the male protagonists, at the beginning, always tease the girl, who, initially, hates him, but later on the two become a couple. Also, Sailor Moon had an episode about possessed paintings (which is what Jeanne is about). The main difference is that while in Sailor Moon the transformed version of Usagi is identical to her usual self, in Jeanne Maron  read more

Madoka is quite fresh while Sailor Moon is the true classic. Sailor Moon is at times far more cheerful manga than Madoka but sometimes is equally dramatic. I also find Madoka & Usagi kinda similar

Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew both have elements of super powers, transformations, action, and romance. If you like Sailor Moon, you'll like Tokyo Mew Mew as well.

Both deal with the Moon and Past lives. One is magical girls but still I cant help but have the same feeling from both. Great stories :D

Toki Meka is from the same author as Sailor Moon. If you haven't gotten enough Takeuchi in your life, it's time to pick up Toki Meka. Sailor Moon is a masterpiece, so don't expect Toki Meka to be quite as good as Sailor Moon, but it is a fun read about a robot girl with Sailor Moon like powers.

The two paralles of the magical girl manga. Sailor moon is the "old innovative school" one, while Shugo chara! represents the "new school" of the magical girl manga. Both are however pretty good.

Both Sailor Moon and Kingdom Hearts have some things in common: Both the main characters, Sailor Moon and Sora started out as ordinary teenagers to the chosen one and keep get stronger as each story progresses; they acquire new weapons and allies to help them against the forces of evil; and they also deeply care about the people that they are close to, like Tuxedo Mask with Sailor Moon and Sora with Kairi.

How does this pairing not exist? If you enjoyed Keishichou Tokuhanka 007, you should LOVE Sailor Moon. Do you like romance? Both stories sail 1 ship, and 1 ship only: the super-attractive male and female leads. No deviation. Do you like action? Sailor Moon gives you battles of galactic scale, while KT007 has detectives tracking down criminals in all sorts of cases. Do you not have time for petty side stories? Well...those are hard to escape in this genre, but these two manga do their best to keep things moving towards our ultimate goal--which is really just  read more

Both are definetely among the best mahou shoujo manga out there. Even though Sailor Moon is longer and starts out lighter, it eventually takes a darker turn which is similar to the general dark tone of Madoka★Magica. Both emphasize the importance of female friendship and companionship. Finally, in both of these manga the heroines undergo substantial character growth and are forced to make tough (and almost sadistic) choices.

Both have dual identitiy characters as well as plots focused on stopping bad guys, friendships also mythology based as well too and nice art and character designs too that are now considered to be iconic af.

Suicide Girl seemingly starts off as a parody for magical girl stories in the same vein as Sailor Moon, as it even pokes fun at various magical girl tropes (like the main character running late with toast in her mouth and "the PreCure jump") in the beginning. But as the title suggests, it quickly becomes a lot darker than most stories in the genre, and is perhaps more similar to the similarly dark Sailor Moon manga. The artwork in both manga are pretty amazing as well.

Stellar Witch LIPS is a refreshing throwback to classic magical girl series like Sailor Moon, as it stars a somewhat ditzy but caring blonde-haired girl who is given a magical item that transforms her into a magical girl. She has to stop this enemy who seems to be collecting human energy for their own objectives and meets a black-haired boy around her age who may or may not be on her side.

Sailor Moon and Baron: The Cat Returns are two fun stories that both begin with a girl who encounters a talking cat. Their encounter then leads them into situations of the fantasy type. Both manga also have a very attractive and distinctively shojo art style.

Tokyo Mew Mew à la Mode and Sailor Moon are two magical girl manga series featuring a romance between a blonde haired middle schoolgirl and a black haired boy. The female main character in both series are also associated with rabbits.

Both having a fighting evil by moonlight winning love by daylight cheerful cute blonde teenager lead with also a lot of lighthearted cute moments in it.

Two really gorgeously drawn manga’s by the amazing Naoko Takeuchi! Cherry Project is more slice of life but I love the drama in it it’s very reminiscent of Sailor Moon! (Even though it came before)

Both are classic magical girl, shoujo manga from the 90s/2000s.

sci-fi/fantasy shoujo stories about beautiful alien girls from the moon. both use fairy tale references and have similar art.

Both are magical girl, both with one leader of 4 girls. Except SM is a ditz crybaby, and Will is a stubborn shy tomboy. Both transform and fight evil from another world, except in different ways. W.I.T.C.H. without the leader none of the girls could fight. Though they still retain a few powers untransformed. Both also have it's share of comedy and romance.

They both have the 'save the earth' feel to it. Ark angels seems to be more serious.. but then it has bizarre attacks and talking animals :X Both have girls fighting on the side of right and magic powers. They also have similar art, though i guess Ark Angels' art may be better.

First of all both series were published back in 1992 and created by prolific authors. Story-wise they don't share any similarity but both series is centered around a teenage girl who are both whiny, gluttonous and has hair buns. They are given special roles that involves becoming a special individual that has to find their celestial warriors in order to fulfill their specific roles.

Both have cute girls, and cute men. Both have Mahou Shoujo and the men also have powers. Both main character girls aren't originally from Earth. Usagi's previous life was on the Moon while Luchia is a mermaid from the Pacific Ocean. Both are totally in love with their men and both bicker with them.

Both are mahou shoujo series, even if on a totally different level (Sailor Moon > all). Just like Usagi, Sakura is a young girl who comes from the moon. Tenemura-sensei clearly "took inspiration" from Takeuchi-sensei, as Sakura says Usagi's most famous quote, "In the name of the Moon, I'll punish you", more than once. >_>

In both there´s a powerful princess with her guardians who lives a normal life and goes to school. There´s also romance in both!

If you really liked the whole Tuxedo Mask thing, Pansy is another older shoujo with adventures and friendship and a guy who hides his identity while going out and "fighting crime". Both are cute and funny.

I'm surprised this hasn't been recommended yet. Both are maho shoujo sentai (magical girl fighting squads). Both Mamoru and Yousuke at first tease the main leading female (usagi and momoko), and Usagi and Momoko both get annoyed with them, but eventually fall for the them. Both girls are not completely human (Usagi is the reincarnation of the Moon Princess and Momoko is half-angel). Sailor Moon has more serious themes and better character growth, but otherwise the two are fairly similar.

Both saints and sailor warriors have some kinda uniform and have titles based on astronomical objects. Both have epic fights, drama and supernatural element. Each saint/warrior have unique special attacs. Even one of the characters in Sailor Moon, also have name Seiya ^_^

Miracle Dieter Miyuki is a painfully obvious, yet cute and good-natured parody of the lighter, fluffy side of Sailormoon.

It the beginning the main character, Usagi Tsukino, and the Sailor Soliders are searching for the Moon Princess. They believe it to be Sailor Venus, but later find out it's someone else. The girl in question does not realize she is in fact the real princess. The beginning of the story deals majorly with finding the princess and the her coming to terms with her duty.
