Preliminary Spoiler

Preliminary (Unknown/? chp)
I actually cant believe im the first to review... i mean this is a very well made and well thought out manga. its actually one of the manga im constantly keeping an eye on. now about the story: its not an original manga. goes about the story of video game turning real; HOWEVER it is one of the best in the way that it is so realistic, even if the main character is OP. overall it is well made and very fun to read. it does have certain plot holes but their so small and few that it doesnt matter much if at all.

I recommend ...

Starts off a real 8/10 till around the late 30 chapters (When our protagonist is invited to the Castle). From here onwards however, I feel it just continues to get unneccesarily slow and then, even futher on, it gets unneccesarily convoluted. At this point the score continues to drop for me and by chapter 52 I feel like I'm reading a 4/10, hence my middle ground score of 6.

If you want to read, I would recommend stopping at 30 if you are fine without an ending or if you just want to slog through those most recent chapters.

For an isekai shounen it's definitely above ...

**THIS REVIEW CONTAINS INFO THAT CAN BE VIEWED AS SPOILERS FOR (..) CERTAIN PEOPLE!**

Okay, so to start off i'll briefly explain what is going on:

You may get the impression that its a ,,Sword Art Online" copy for a first glance, but its NOT one!

(This contains parts from the first chapter i think)

We start off with the main character beating the final boss ,,Origin" of this death game called ,,The New Gate" which trapped thousands of players inside. When he finishes his job (which actually looked pretty easy) he waits for everyone to log out, and plans to be the last one to do so, but ...

Incredibly simplistic isekai. Basically a lazy copy of every other isekai that's out there. Overpowered MC tries to hide his amazing powers while simultaneously showing off his amazing powers to everyone he encounters. Not one original idea in the entire manga. 100% predictable start to finish. This is the laziest type of power fantasy that exists where the MC is already god-like from the first chapter. Story is boring. Characters are boring. Action is boring. Artwork is terrible. There is so little value in this manga that I can't believe it's still being published. Would never recommend this to anyone because there are thousands of ...

After clearing a VRMMORPG that became a death trap to its players, Shin is transported 500 years into that fantasy world's future. Its inhabitants have picked up the pieces, adapted, and live normal lives. The world feels far more real than in most isekais, owing in part to its diverse and colorful characters and the bare minimum of "gamey" status screens.

Players like Shin are considered legends, but some still remember them first-hand. It's the support characters (former NPCs) who gained sentience and are seen as living legends themselves. Imagine the world falling apart around you and wandering for 500 years hoping for your master to ...

Reading "The New Gate" was like watching a super good AMV or compilation video...
You get all the buzz out of all the best bits of all your favorite series all crammed together!

There is HEAVY influence from both SAO & Overlord, as well as I suspect some pretty heavy influence from Log Horizon (A personal long-time favorite) and the blend that "The New Gate" manages to achieve is just wonderful. The MC is extremely likable, the OPness, doesn't feel cheap or pointless, the world is complicated and vast enough that the MC's journey of discovery feels natural and fills the reader with curiosity rather than ...

The New Gate is a charming and unique isekai with a severe issue holding it back. Shin basically being time-traveled is an interesting premise and it's fun that he knows about the world's rules but knows nothing about the current state of things. Shin uses his overpowered status to help people and the world grow, leading to sweet interactions throughout the story.

The biggest issue, however, is how the power system works. So the world is structured like a video game so there are levels, skills, and gear like you would see in an MMO. Unfortunately, it's not clear how characters can get stronger other ...
