If you like the modern world crushing enemy like ant, then this manga is perfect. GATE is about travel to a different world while Sengoku Jietai is about time travel, but they serve the same purposes: Showing the JSDF kicking ass

Taking place in a fictional world with unnatural elements, both series has a lot of potential with its storytelling. The main protagonist gets involved with military and political affairs while also forging meaningful relationship with others. Throughout the story, we also learn a lot of conflicts that develops between various factions, countries, and empires (guilds in the case for Log Horizon). There is high class fantasy concepts in both series that is also filled with action. Do take a note that Gate contains some mature context while Log Horizon appeals to more RPG mechanics and comedy.
