Manga: Judge
Extremely similar premises and similar storytelling. Also a lot of "whodunnits" as well as an oblivious protag and his "friends" trying to fight the unknown evils. Very battle royale structure and thriller mood as well.

Manga: Dokumushi
Both series are rather similar in tone with how the characters are placed in a death trap, although I would say that Danganronpa is more light hearted about it than Dokumushi, but I think that helps in it's favor.

Group of students gets trapped in a place and put into mortally dangerous situations for the amusement of the mastermind. The mastermind's identit has to be found out, but the students start turning against each other to save their own hide.
