No but seriously the story is so unique, it has heart warming moments and sad ones the characters are amazing especially Yuno. The story is also crazy at times which makes me love it even more and the action scenes are amazing. Honestly the last couple of episodes made me cry. And i own it honestly. Such a fun anime with a great story and even better characters. Really cheered me up this anime and manga i will 100% read the VN which i heard is really fucking awesome. Oh yeah and did i mention that i love Yuno?

horrible, absolutely horrible. but i still has some good points. anyways lets first look at the story plot:

our main character yukiteru posses a future diary where the future is written in it, and he participates in a game together with 11 other characters where they compete for the position of god. they kill each other until there is one survivor left and he would be god.

might sound boring but it actually really isn't. now then what is the problem with the plot? well its mainly the way it was delivered. what do I mean? well whats up with those weird appearance and the idiotic ... characters? our mc yukiteru esp pisses me off. like wth cant u make better decisions? lets go to the start of the manga. yuno appears as a stalker in love with yukiteru and confesses it without second thoughts. well okay she seems weird and stuff. anyways at one point of time she ask him "follow her and die or me and live" or something like that. and yukiteru has to take time considering the two options? one is a stranger who tried to kill him and the other is a girl geniuinly in love with him. so if you were him which would you choose? obv choose yuno and live right? then near the end of manga just cuz he doesn't wanna believe in the truth he decides to shoot how many, 3 or 4 of his dearest, and only friends? sorry but that's just stupid. like how much of an idiot can you be?? stop being ridiculous and stop acting like a scared child already.

secondly whats up with the others approach? and their actions? the little boy the mcs mom brought home esp. like stop underestimating people way other than you. anyways enough rants

art wasn't bad, I think it was one of the good points about this

character was as I mentioned absolutely crab

enjoyment: honestly felt this was a waste of time but I think that's only because of out mc. otherwise, the plot wasn't that bad so other then character and delivery of plot this wasn't that bad.

Is this manga dear to me: Very. Did I enjoy re-reading it: Yes. Can I see someone else enjoy it: Sure. Can I recommend it: No.

Unless you suffer from nostalgia or are very open-minded, there is close to no value in reading this title. To say that it aged poorly is an understatement; to say it is anything outstanding is a lie. It commits many grave sins a manga could commit, and will most likely grind both your sanity and skull while reading it... Despite that, it is still very dear to me.

The protagonist is a typical introvert middle schooler who gets thrown into a ... bizarre set of circumstances ordinary people could not imagine, is confronted with unimaginable troubles, accomplishes great feats, etc, etc, etc ... Very far from something never seen before. There isn't anything ground-breaking here. The older you are, the more likely it is you got tired of this trope. However, I think much of its charm stems from that fact. This story should be seen through the lens of younger age, as many of us have experienced Mirai Nikki for the first time when we were younger.

It entertains that childish dream of being someone special. It entertains the idea of importance, being wanted and loved, even to the point of obsession. Great things happen to the protagonist out of the blue, as if he is destined to be a hero of a tale. Characters are motivated by naive and shallow goals; but it isn't hard to believe it, as we were also naive at that age. It even touches upon darker topics, like divorce, being manipulated, contemplating the idea of certain death... All combined in a simple, fun story with clumsy moments that is enticing to the younger audience. Those moments of dumb childishness are where Mirai Nikki still holds value, or at least I think so.

Am I giving this story too much credit: very likely. This method of thinking can be applied to a widespread of titles, this just being an example of it.

With that said, if you don't see things listed as worth it, I don't see much redeeming quality. We age, and we can't look at these things the same way as we did in the past. In reality, this title is not good. The story feels like a fever dream when looked back upon; the more logic you put behind it, the less it is cohesive. The characters are so over the top, bizarre, and random. By the end of the manga, some have run past every red flag imaginable, have committed numerous cases of severe crime, and somehow still have conscience as clear as a puddle. I don't want to go into any spoilers, but I am laughing while recalling some of the many utmost retarded parts there were. And the amount of DeRaNgEd sHiTtTtTt is, put lightly, concerning (every T at the end of the last word represents the number of times I genuinely felt shame reading this, and I was too generous, there should have been much more). At some point your ability to be critical vanishes, as you would just waste your energy over something that makes barely any sense in the first place. It's just dumb fun at the end of the day.

The art is far from special, and it gets the job done. There isn't anything more I could say about it.

This is a manga that offers nothing other titles couldn't, next to the fact many of those other titles offer a lot more alongside it. Unless you are younger and getting into this medium of art, or want to rekindle the nostalgia, or are up for dumb fun, or want to know who Yuno Gasai is, I'd recommend you look for something else, as I am certain you will find some better title. But, if you are among the people I listed, I won't discourage you. Despite the flaws, I can't say I found no entertainment in it.

At the end of the day, I am objectively judging something I am very subjective about. I am writing this review partially for others, but mainly for me to encapsulate my thoughts. In the end, I will always have a sweet spot for Mirai Nikki. I will always remember the characters and the story. I will always feel something when reading the ending. And I will always find some charm in the nostalgia behind it...
