Both have a dungeon theme. Their dark side is similar. They are quite solid in terms of atmosphere. There are good actions.

Both titles feature a City with an underground dungeon as their main place for the story, with the MC forming a party and going lower and lower in the dungeon, gaining money to live with the essence of the demons gathered after killing them, with guilds, sword and other weapons, bow guns, magic, ambushes from other adventurers when they're in the dungeon, and so on... And for both of them include very game-like mechanisms in the reality (stats update in Danmachi, "town portal" in Yuusha Aruiwa bakemono to yobareta shoujo...). the MC of each title can fight with swords and magic equally. However, Danmachi has  read more

They are both a RPG based. Both main characters have a loot in common. Grimgal focus more on the realism wile Danmachi is more about emocion.
