These sports mangas are quite similar in their set ups and characters and even the way the characters act. In each we have a female manager of a male sports club in school. Both girls come across are hard, scar, bossy but hard-working, and are sort of tsunderes yet they started managing because they were secretly in love with the captain but never tell him. The male leads are a different guy who falls for them and both guys come across as pushy and a good athlete but they sincerely fall for the manager girl first  read more

The heroine is the manager of a kendo club. The protaginist is a very talented member in the club and is a little devious towards the manager.

Ao Haru Ride and Akaiito crafts a story of romance based on experiences and youth with its main cast of characters. Both series has its standard shoujo elements and takes place in a school life setting. The story also plays part with the past that includes childhood. Both series adapts relationship dynamics between multiple protagonists. There is love triangles and drama that also develops as the story progresses.

Strobe Edge and Akaiito delivers some classic romance themes involving drama, love triangles, and childhood connections. Both series' main protagonists experiences love but finds themselves at difficult times to get their point across. The storytelling of both series has a slow pacing and is fairly predictable. However, character relationships gets more and more complicated as others gets involved while interpersonal issues are explored.
