Synopsis

Shirayuki is Tanbarun's friendly neighborhood herbalist, whose unique red hair ends up drawing unwanted attention from the vain prince of Tanbarun, Raji Shenazard. Faced with the unattractive proposition to become his concubine, Shirayuki chops off her hair and flees the country overnight. In her journey deep into the forest, she encounters Zen Wistalia, the prince of the neighboring country of Clarines. When Zen takes a bite out of a poisoned apple that Prince Raji sends in order to recapture Shirayuki, she expertly uses the herbs at her disposal to cure him.

Together with Zen and his two friends, Kiki and Mitsuhide, Shirayuki travels to Clarines, where she aims to make a life for herself as an apothecary of the royal court. As Zen slowly begins to mean more to her than the prince of her new country, the two of them must learn to work together toward their respective dreams despite the difference in status.

Preliminary (117/? eps)
I've been caught up to this manga for about 6 years and it is still my favorite shoujo out there.

Story-9/10
There's no real overarching story, as its more of a slice of life, but historical. It does, however, show the development of the characters lives as they go, setting new goals and furthering themselves in their careers. Also, the romance is very quick burn. I know some people prefer slow burn, but for me, it's a big plus!

Art-8/10
I personally love Akizuki Sorata's art. I think it's beautiful, both in color and black and white. My only issue with it is that it's been getting ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (132/? eps)
Started reading the manga because I was disappointed by the way the anime finished up. I fell in love with the story as it was a very wholesome romance/friendship story that I expected to develop further. Unfortunately, after reading the manga, I have to say that I now completely agree with the way the anime ended, as everything that followed in the story after that was INCREDIBLY slow. I keep reading with hope for things between zen and shirayuki to develop into marriage. Then I get introduced to a potential romance between Mitsuhide and Kiki, only to be utterly disappointed by some stupid excuse on ...

Spoiler
I am surprised there aren't any lower review scores for the manga because I personally feel it is insanely flawed. Its a story that I heavily enjoyed that turned into something I found extremely boring.

This is a story that I am sad to say just gets less interesting overtime. It starts off insanely strong and the anime does a really good job covering basically a really good 30 chapter progression. With a nice premise and a strong core cast, it would be really REALLY interesting if we just threw that away for the rest of the series.

Spoiler alert. Yeah shortly after where season 2 of ...
