Both stories are about a high school boy as the main character who meets a suspicious, long-haired, hat-and-trench-coat-wearing man. Said man demands help with dealing with fighting supernatural opponents.

D. Gray-man and Monochrome Factor are similar because they both deal with fighting demons, and each character has their own story (unlike a lot of mangas and animes that just focus on only one character). They are both a good read, and if you liked one, then you'll probably like the other.

"Monochrome Factor" and "Dusk Howler" are fantasy shounen stories with bishounens where a suspicious male character with long white hair (Shirogane or Nine) suddenly appeared in the life of an ordinary male character with short brown hair (Akira or Jaiha) and dragged him into a series of some supernatural events. I couldn't think of another manga to describe it sorry. but, if you liked anime version of 07 Ghost and were disappointed of the end. If you want to discover an universe waaaaay better in this original form. I can assure you, Monochrome Factor is a rare piece. Sadly, the anime of Monochrome Factor is here, and a lot of people thinks Manga is the same. AND THAT'S NOT. The Manga is so DIFFERENT and WAY better. A simple history with good characters (all appealing) and with evolution in the story. The protagonist, others and some scenes between actions are funny (i love the Author's Pen which evolve with time). The  read more

Both mangas are written by Sorano Kairi. They have similar character designs and the characters are just as oddly endearing in one as they are in the other.

Both main characters are royalty, both accept help from an odd cheery guy who knows more than he lets on, both are fighting for their lives and for something unknown (for the most part) and both are bishies...yum...

Both main character's meet a strange person while leaving school one day, resulting in a series of events soon after that catches them in a battle, that they didn't really want to be apart of.

Starts out with the hero gaining a super power to help fight off an infestation of monsters from "The Shadow World"/"Hueco Mundo" Both recruit an assortment of other super power guys from their close friends at high school Both have about a 5-10 man group of heroes fighting a 5-10 group of bad guys in a series of battles Bleach is higher quality, but monochrome doesn't completely change its storyline every couple seasons.

both run into a creepy [old-young] guy and begin to experience a series of phenomenon of evil spirits, both boys then end up joining previously said creepy [old-young] guy and begin fighting for the sake of their own existence if you like one you'll like the other >_<
